random musings about citrus and the cycle of abuse under the cut

Citrus over here got me actually thinking seriously about all this shit and I fucking hate it because the manga never once got me thinking like this and I think this can be associated with the good direction of the show and the better tone and pacing. There is a pain and a helplessness and a deep feeling of tragic abuse and suffering in that forced kiss scene, from all parties involved. You feel the pain and loneliness that Mei has gone through, you feel the disgust and horror and violation that Yuzu has gone through. And dammit it hurts because you know that Mei is completely continuing the cycle of abuse and it’s not right but fuck it’s so human it hurts. She’s becoming her abuser, she’s doing the one thing that you dread when you’re abused. I was abused by my mother for a majority of my life, neglected and hit and told I wasn’t worth it, and like you fear it you know, it’s this deep fear that eats at your soul that you will one day continue the cycle. To not you have to make the conscious effort that you will better yourself and you will understand that you’ve been abused and that it wasn’t right and it’s not your fault but that still doesn’t give you the right to abuse others. Mei has no power over her own life and has been forced sexual by a man much older than her and she sees the opportunity to do the same thing to Yuzu and she takes it with both hands and runs with it. Shows Yuzu the pain of not having control over your own body in the worst way possible. It’s horrible and inexcusable and she should not have been given the opportunity to do so but she was and things spiraled so quickly out of control. Unfortunately, I know the manga and what Mei needs is something she wont be getting. She needs to be removed from the situation entirely, she cannot be given the opportunity to continue her abuse and she needs to be separated from the men abusing her and she needs someone professional to talk to. She needs it so fucking bad before this cycle gets any worse then it already is.

I signed this petition because I refuse to back down, no one should have to die to protect their land or water or way of life, even Trump thinks so he actually stated this the other night during his press conference and yet he's a hypocrite because he could care less about the First Nation or the Indigenous people who are being brutalized and dehumanized, even more so now since those memos have been passed! There are videos demonstrating just how much worse things have gotten because now the militarized police are not only jamming frequencies and shooting down drones, they're actually jumping on the frequencies being used by the Tribe to communicate with each other and saying all manner of hate speech and vitriol telling the men to come to the bridge and fight them or that they are going to go to the camp and fuck the women YES THIS HAS ACTUALLY BEEN SAID again is on video!!! It is no secret that the abductions, sexual slavery, rapes and murders of Indigenous women is rampant, this is why they said what they did, they are deliberately pouring salt in the wound! If that wasn't bad enough Trump is now introducing legislation that will make protesting of ANY kind illegal which is a SEVERE violation of the First Amendment! According to this legislation ANYONE protesting will be arrested for "inciting a riot" with prison sentences of up to 15 years! Before anyone even TRIES to tell me it's only against those who are being violent allow me to remind you that people such as Chase Iron Eyes is still facing up to five years in prison for "inciting a riot" and his crime was BUILDING A TEEPEE, because we all know that building a dwelling as an act of war just like PRAYING is which is why people have been assaulted with things such as rubber bullets, concussion grenades, sound cannons, lrads, crop dusters spraying poison directly on the people and water cannons in subfreezing temperatures, yet this is the law enforcement that needs to be protected from these TERRIBLE HORRIBLE NONVIOLENT PRAYERFUL Water Protectors whose only desire is to have their way of life respected and their children's futures secured just like everyone else! Morton County, especifically Sheriff Kirchmeier as well as ex governor Jack Dalrymple both need to be brought up on domestic terrorism charges as does Kelcy Warren and ETP! When Donald Trump dismissed everything that happened in the last year to the people peacefully protesting he became the Domestic Terrorist in Chief continuing the US government's ongoing assault and denigration of the First Nation! He said while he was campaigning that he would leave it up to the states to decide whether or not to allow fracking or drilling of any kind and yet the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe said NO and not only did he completely dismiss them, he took it upon himself only two weeks after his inauguration to sign two memos that cancelled the EIS!
