Your f/o(s) would 100% be there for you when you're overwhelmed/underwhelmed or overstimulated/understimulated.

they know you can't deal with sudden loud noises, crowds, small places or that you need extra stimulation in certain times

when they notice you starting to get upset, anxious, they'll lead you outside, without gathering attention, to where it's quiet and help you decompress

they'll stay near you, letting you stim the anxiety out without any judgement and help you keep yourself at bay

if you go nonverbal / non speaking when your overwhelmed/stimulation; they'll use sign language in your native language that you taught them, text you, let you write your words down. Or if you don't want to talk, they'll leave it alone and let you take your time until you feel comfortable enough to come back to them.

Your f/o(s) would keep extra gadgets on them, stim toys, maybe on their land yard or keys incase they need to give you one when you need stimulation or need to stim

they would never treat you like a child for it. they know your boundaries, they know how you like to be comforted. They know this is how you cope, how you deal with your struggles, they know you can't control it. They just want to help :)

I think the reason Antis don't attack big name authors it's because Antis are "brainless". And no I don't mean this in the ableist sense, I mean this in the sense that they don't think for themselves. They're victims of mass media fearmongering, they like or dislike whatever is dictated by the general level of current tolerance.

Everyone has read big name author books with questionable themes. The thing is, nobody brings that up because it, genuinely, doesn't matter. So the public doesn't ponder about the nature of those questionable themes, and if they do, because the general public it's a lot more smart than Antis give them credit for, disregard it as simple fictional content and for what it is: As something that doesn't matter.

Now, because there's been such an upraise in fandom puritanism in the last few years ―I'm not sure why but what I am sure of is that there's not just one source of why―, people do stop and ponder about these things. And because there is a widespread fear and sense of "urgency" and "danger" about these things, Antis thusly are born.

Think of it as the tide-pod challenge a few years back. There most likely wasn't a huge number of kids who did it; a big part of the reason many did was because of the mass media reports about the subject. But Gen-Z got blamed and labeled and attacked for it just because there was a mass media panic about an issue that pretty much no one was seriously considering at the time.

Same with proshipping. The amount of proshippers who do genuine harm is nothing compared to the amount of proshippers who are just normal, everyday people. Mass panicking over this only breeds more hostility towards proshippers, who are in turn more reachable and brought up in reachable social media; i.e. TikTok, Twitter, etc.

For emotionally insecure self-shippers out there with a F/O that has a rough personality:

Worried that your F/O finds you annoying? It's okay to feel that way, but know that they're not annoyed by you. You're never too much or too little for them, and your efforts to show your love for them are more than enough. They cherish all that you do.

It doesn't matter if others think it's out-of-character, your F/O will tone down their mean streak for you and only you. Heck, they wouldn't mind at all if they completely change their ways. Your feelings matter to them, maybe even more than their own, and they'll do anything to make you happy and feel safe.

Maybe you've been hurt by someone/some people that was/were significant to you before, and you tell them. They understand that, and will make compromises for you without any hesitation or reluctance.

You will never be hurt again, they make sure of it.

The road to feeling secure again around someone may be rough and long, but they'll be with you through it all.

I´ve lately seen many young peeps in fandom spaces, worrying about openly shipping their ships because of what antis might do

so let me tell you something:

antis are huge losers who are gonna find something to hate you for no matter what you do

even if you ship EXACTLY what they ship, theyre gonna yell at you for "not shipping it right"

so, my piece of advice: just do whatever you want and tear up the house! antis are gonna hate no matter what, so ignore them and find some good companions by being yourself
