i also don’t know why it would occur in any regard, given that chrysi’s pretty ride-or-die with her boyfriends, but au where she and gil are separated and wren goes between both their houses.. i think he’d call jacks his evil stepmom while at gil’s place, and when gil’s like, “oh, i don’t like jacks either. i don’t know why chrysi’s dating him.” wren will look at him very seriously and says, “i like jacks. he’s my evil stepmom, but he’s very, very bad at it. he tried to drop me off in the middle of the woods, but he ended up getting lost, so i had to lead him out.” gil is in shock.

well, my izombie au has slowly shifted to be something more canonical, but that in between stage still counts? i wound up taking insp from the possession of hannah grace and the mortuary assistant, along with general other horror elements from various shows/movies—but essentially, azure is killed by his ex and brought back Wrong ((i’ve since rewritten this to be chrysi bringing him back wrong, but it’s an expression of love frm her instead of an expression of obsession <3)) and morwyn requests chrysi take azure in to work in the morgue w her… demonic possession of dead bodies ensue, and unfortunately for everyone involved, azure is also technically a dead body!!! VERY unfortunate situation!!!! but i also include more of a “monster of the week” format when thinking on this au, so :)) it rules!!! i think abt it a lot!!!

my conjuring au is jst so romantic…. less abt the horror and more abt how chrysi and azure protect each other despite dealing w hauntings and possessions as their career…… i love thinking abt that second movie, where azure throws himself into danger (as opposed to chrysi normally doing it) and chrysi’s forced to reckon with how much heartache she’s caused azure by doing that exact same thing. OH, and that third movie were azure’s being controlled. but instead of their love breaking the curse, chrysi jst led him to the altar and made his super-possessed-magic-strength destroy it. azures both offended and impressed by her solution. and yes, azure has a locket w a photo of chrysi in it 🫶🏻 romance!!! ((added bonus of bg simeonluna in these aus!!!!!!!))

OH GOD, MY CHRYZUREJACKS ZOMBIE AU WHERE THEY ALL WERE PART OF THIS GROUP THAT WOULD GO INTO INFECTED DEAD ZONES AND CLEAR THEM OUT/GRAB VALUABLES FOR PPL….. it’s more of chrysi’s job, but jacks tagged along because he didn’t rlly know what else to do w his life after the zombie apocalypse came knocking, and azure joins up in order to document their exploits as a photojournalist!! but then there’s an outbreak in one of the towns they’re staying at (well, more like a small city… i looooove playing w zombie apocalypses post-everyone finding a “new normal”…. yes, i got super into zombies during the pandemic, what makes you ask that?) & meredith gets infected.. since she’s a witch & she knows azure’s a witch, she bites him (before she turns entirely) and claims him as her own. they become a new breed, babey!!!! azure fakes like he hasn’t been infected until he’s made sure chrysi and jacks have gotten to a safe zone, then he locks them in and leaves to go succumb to the illness <//3 years down the line, chrysi and jacks get together because, like. what other option do they have… they’re missing azure so much and only they understand the pain of that…. UNTIL ON ANOTHER RUN, CHRYSI GETS KNOCKED INTO AN INFECTION ZONE & jacks is terrified he’ll lose her again!! but no worries…. a zombified azure still has control over himself and he saves chrysi :)) also he’s the only one that can tell them that meredith (also zombified) is planning on putting their outpost under siege. problem is, azure can’t remember anything from his life and he can barely speak. ruh roh!!!!

OH, ALWAYS!!!! there’s the chrysijacks agonies i’ve mentioned prior (jacks finding her dead body and getting his curse from her 🥰, jacks getting soooo fucking possessed and trying to kill chrysi over it, chrysi taking jacks’s place in the card and he has to deal with the guilt of his immortality making him cruel to his very bestest friend), BUT i always have new and improved agonies that await <333 like how i think that ummm since jacks has chrysi’s blood in him, if she were to die, his blood would start blooming w death flowers.

oh, but the fic where jacks is the human and chrysi’s the fate is so uniquely agonizing… jst bc like!!!! jacks went and killed himself (partway bc of his obsession w chrysi overtaking him, partway bc eris influenced him and killed him off bc she didn’t want chrysi to fall in love and become mortal again. long story, but she essentially also killed azure so that chrysi would become her “greatest achievement” and become a fate), but he still lingers around chrysi bc he continues to love her in his death. ((chrysi ends up getting eris to preserve his body… once a trophy husband, always a trophy husband, i guess.. jacks is somewhat touched by this gesture. there’s something very wrong with both of them)) AND THEN when chrysi loses her mind over the knowledge that she’s lost the two ppl she loves most bc of eris (her goddamn mother figure!) and she starts killing ppl indiscriminately bc of it… jacks possesses fate!jacks and kills chrysi to save her from herself…. it’s jst. so sad. then fate!jacks is left w his own fucking body taxidermied and chrysi’s dead body in his arms. how the hell is he supposed to handle this? and when he gets back to his actual world, how’s he going to look his chrysi in the eye? but you know. the agonies are sooo fun!!!

oh my god, chryzurejacks being cat ppl all at the same time is an amazing idea… i will post art of them like this later today, i think! but i think that it’s a lot of azure lounging aroudn and napping and reading books, while chrysi definitely gets hyper at times and takes a lap around the house <33 jacks will tend to curl up w chrysi, but whenever she wants to play or run around, he’s extremely displeased,,, why doesn’t she jst want to be with him ?? :(( it’s worse bc she’ll run around, and then once she settles down again, she GOES TO LAY DOWN IN AZURE’S LAP. i think that chrysi’s the best gift giver (she goes above and beyond + always hand makes stuff, plus writes a nice note, plus gets more things that they wanted <33), with azure a close second (he’s a lot more subtle abt it + he just gets ppl gifts whenever he feels like it. it’s not a special occasion type thing), and then. jacks. (he exclusively gets chrysi gifts but they’re all clothing and jewelry that jacks wants to see on chrysi. not what she specifically asked for. cmon, man…)

10: Does your S/I have any rivals or enemies? What are they like and how did they meet? What does your F/O think of them? Have there been any serious clashes?

boy, does she ever <3 in the general storyline, the stars are her worst enemy since they keep forcing her lives to end in tragedy. in the childhood fates au, the fallen star hates her in particular, simply because she’s the only other star-being in his vicinity and he doesn’t want to lose control over the fates as a whole. the stars themselves are extremely emotionless, except for a deranged sense of boredom that results in some fucked up tragedies in an attempt to amuse themselves. gavriel’s a bit more hotheaded (lol) and snappy, but he’s still pretty aloof.

jacks has mixed feelings on the matter… on one hand, it sucks that the stars are making chrysi so miserable. on the other hand… he gets to see her in multiple lives. her death doesn’t mean the end, you know? but in the end, he’ll help chrysi and azure break their curse and/or kill the stars because bestfriendship will do that to a guy, i guess. that, and the fact that chrysi is his true love! so! as for gavriel, jacks says fuck that guy. he let his ex wife kill him, so i’d say that was a pretty big clash between the two of them.

SHE RISKED HER OWN FREEDOM TO GET JACKS OUT OF THAT CARD!!! AND HE ABANDONED HER. HE LEFT HER THERE. SHE WAS SCARED AND SHE TOOK HIS PLACE IN HIS CARD AND WHAT DID HE DO TO THANK HER? HE LEFT HER! HE LEFT HER! 

……….at least, that’s how she interpreted that situation. that’s not what rlly happened, not entirely. jacks couldn’t find the deck of destiny to spring chrysi out, and he spent the next hundred years trying to track her down and bring her back. she made him! he’s her fate!

jacks sacrificed his immortality for chrysi <3 and she got very angry w him because he didn’t tell her he was mortal now and he almost DIED for her!!!!! she’s whacking him over the head w a foam sword viciously.

I was listening to Achilles Come Down earlier today and it did make me think of Azure (bc ya know… French…) and uhhh can I get any rant about he and Chrysi please? I love them a lot 🥺

that song’s on so many of their playlists! mostly the vibe is sooooo 🥰🥰🥰 but ummmm, yes 🖤 i have a rant for them because they’re so…! i mean, like, major spoilers for the fic in working on but i’ve already spoiled everything regarding it because it’s jst a way for me to explain how chrysi caused jacks’s kiss + what it was that caused azure to try and save chrysi by leaving her !!!!

but BASICALLY

azures devotion to chrysi is his end-all, be-all. it is all he cares about. her happiness matters above all else (and he would prefer it if they could be happy together, but he’ll put his own needs aside for his chryseis)

that’s why it HURTS LIKE HELL that in this backstory fic (epilogue—commencement & closure), chrysi DIES IN HIS ARMS. while he’s asleep! she died and he didn’t even know it. i think that chrysi dying, jst in general, is enough to break him—but to have her die and he was there, useless and asleep? that shatters him and UGH, of course he’s going to make a bad decision!!!! he wants nothing more than to have chrysi back or to be with chrysi. that’s all he wants. he was willing to run away from being the crown prince and to steal money frm the royal treasury to fund a treatment effort for chrysi’s illness :(((

then he makes a deal with the stars and HE DOESNT THINK IT THROUGH ENTIRELY!!! he should’ve seen that the phrasing “you’ll live through many lives with her—as many as you need until you reach your happy ending” WAS SUSPICIOUS AS HELL….. why did the stars make it sound like only a happy ending was the way to get their reincarnations to stop!! and why does it seem like they’re using azure and chrysi as their new entertainment? of COURSE the stars will start to interfere with their future lives and make them miserable so they don’t lose out on their new favorite tv show of chryzure heartbreaks!!!!!

but he misses chrysi so much and he can’t live w the guilt,,,, and so he dies by her side 💔💔💔 but he doesn’t even get the courtesy of remaining human, because the stars make him a bed of roses instead.

then, like…. when azure realizes, in all his future lives, that because of that decision he made, he’s doomed chrysi (and him) to an endless string of lives ending in tragedy, GOD. the GUILT HE FEELS. all because he loved chrysi so much and because he made a decision for her happiness…. but now he has to realize that he made a huge mistake and that it’s all his fault. WAILING. CRYING. PLEASE!!!!

so it’s a combo of guilt and a hope that, if azure leaves, then chrysi won’t be doomed to another tragic ending + she’ll be able to escape the loop of reincarnation they’re trapped in,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but unfortunately, he also needs to have a happy ending for it to be over, and the only way he’ll be happy is if it’s with her…! AAAAGHHHH!!!!

so that’s why he left chrysi with jacks 🤧 the future he referenced in that one letter was rlly jst him remembering that he made a deal with the stars so he and chrysi would keep coming back until they have a “happily ever after” and he couldn’t handle getting chrysi killed again,,,, so he LEFT.

not that he’s not doing something to try and combat his own deal (the entire time chrysi’s w jacks, azure is trying to figure out how to beat the stars, if there’s a loophole, if he could jst Kill All Of Them), but it’s also… idk, a hope that chrysi’s childhood friend can be a happy ending for her. but, unfortunately, azure is also jealous and he doesn’t want chrysi to be with anyone other than him. he’s got a lot going on

hmm… for any of the 3 ships or all of them if u wanna!!! have u ever thought abt what a sort of “bad end” or worst case scenario would b for them? how would they deal with losing each other, not necessarily by death. is there any point where they go through a tense period of time in their relationship?

I’m jst going to answer for ChrysiJacks and ChrysiGil because I’m sleepy, BUT THESE R SUCH GOOD QUESTIONS!!!

ChrysiJacks

“Bad end” for Chrysi and Jacks is definitely Jacks getting stuck back in his card again. Chrysi takes his place in the card so he can get out, but there was a bit of a… I guess curse? More like the card’s magic was running thin, so it could only take one switch—so now Jacks has his one true love stuck in a card because he was stupid and it trapped in the first place. He takes it upon himself to find some way to get her back, but… it’s not going so well, and he hurts so badly. He misses his princess :((((

OH, JACKS DOES NOT TAKE LOSING CHRYSI WELL. He reverts a bit back to being impulsively cruel, but it’s all tinged with his grief over Chrysi. He almost kills all those bystanders in my Last Apprentice AU, simply because he can no longer sense Chrysi’s heartbeat next to his. Chrysi, on the other hand, becomes reckless. She’s on a new self-destruction route :’) I actually have an AU similar to the one with Gil, where Jacks pretends he forgot Chrysi to protect her, and then he has to watch her drive herself into the ground. It breaks his heart—but what’s worse is that Azure’s there to try and help Chrysi. Jacks hates that he’s not the one that’s there for her. 

The beginning of their relationship is… very tense. Jacks is still caught up on Tella, Chrysi’s still caught up on Azure, and both of them keep on hurting each other over it. Add to the fact that Jacks hasn’t admitted to himself that he has feelings for Chrysi and he proceeds to use her in his schemes, and you can imagine how the beginning of their relationship is… very, very messy. I love it. It’s so fun to write. 

ChrysiGil

I’ve been hurting myself by thinking of my bad end for Chrysi and Gil lately, actually 😭😭😭 Where they wait for Oz and Alice to come back for the 100 years, and once they’re all reunited, Gil’s body begins to break down. He holds onto life longer than Vincent did, but he’d hiding the fact that he’s dying from Chrysi. When she finds out, she’s heartbroken—because this is the second time her lover knew he was dying and didn’t tell her. One morning she wakes up to find Gil gone, because he… died. Disintegrated. Oz and Alice wake up to Chrysi screaming. 

OBVIOUSLY NOT ACTUALLY IN MY CANON, BECAUSE IT KILLS ME, BUT IT’S KINDA FUN TO THINK ABOUT…. :(((

If Gil were to lose Chrysi, he’d be so lost… Like, he’s viewed her as a constant ever since Oz disappeared, so to have her suddenly not be there in any capacity leaves him feeling listless. He ends up mothering Oz a lot more and he shoves his feelings down in a very unhealthy way (still thinking about how he reacted to Elliot dying by not letting himself cry over it… Gil, honey….). By the time his feelings fully sink in, he’s a shell of a person. 

If Chrysi were to lose Gil… there’s a level of maturity to her losing Gil, I think, since she and Gil were more of parents for Oz and Alice, so she can’t let herself become reckless, self-destructive, impulsive—like she would if she were to lose Azure or Jacks. She has to put her feelings on hold in order to ensure everything is alright with Oz and Alice. Unfortunately, Oz and Alice care about Chrysi too, so they do the same with her. The three end up crying together a lot :((

YEPPP, it’s very tense for the beginning bit (again), mostly because Gil keeps running out on Chrysi in order to protect Oz, and he’s not clear with the fact that he also cares about Chrysi. Whenever he attempts to protect Chrysi/nurse her back to health, she keeps pushing him away as a result, which just… makes everything frustrating. Oz is like “ENOUGH. MAKE UP AND KISS RIGHT NOW.”

AAAAHH, thank u for asking, xia!! ;;; hmm, I'll explain my main three F/Os, if that's not too many! I'll try to keep it to the bare minimum because sdlkfjsdlkjfd there's Many things to be said. I apologize for how long it gets!!!

Despair

He's Chrysi's soulmate!!! The only person to compare is Azure, who's Chrysi's canonical boyfriend (my OC), but that's perfectly okay because Despair eventually ends up possessing Azure's body.

He's the main villain in Kek/kai Sensen S1, and is known as one of the Thirteen Kings // King of Despair. He's possessing the body of a boy named William Macbeth.

His plans entail causing another "Great Collapse", which caused the downfall of New York City three years prior (the first Great Collapse was caused by something else, but it ended up inspiring Despair later!)

Obviously he's overthrown and all of that stuff, but as for his relationship with Chrysi--he's been alive for thousands of years, around since Ancient Roman Times!! So I decided he was a human all that time ago (he looked like Azure back then, for designing convenience), and that he was the son of a prominent senator. He fell in love with a pretty oracle to the gods, and he and Chrysi ended up having a secret affair.

Once Despair's father found out, he knew the options were to have his son killed for defiling the oracle of the gods, or to kill the oracle silently. He decided to kill Chrysi.

Despair didn't take kindly to that (nor did the gods), so while the gods are tearing apart his mortal body, he possesses one of the assassins and murders his father in cold blood. Then jumpstarts the next couple thousand years where he causes pain and misery to others because he wants to feel SOMETHING after losing the love of his life.

Back to the present--he finds the reincarnation of Chrysi before the events of the show, and he and her start dating again. However, once she finds out about his plans for the Second Great Collapse (which he began regretting working on while dating her), she breaks up with him and vows to stop him. She doesn't want to hurt him, however, so she winds up working on her own agency in an attempt to stop him without killing him.

He eventually gets kicked out of Will's body, and he wakes up in the body of a coma victim that looks exactly like he did back in Ancient Roman Times, and he can't get out of the body. So. That's great.

He finds Chrysi again at the hospital, and he joins her new monster-fighting agency because he adores her. There's a lot of drama once everyone finds out Chrysi's been dating the guy that almost destroyed the city a year ago, but it's fine. (Spoiler alert: it's not fine.)

There's also a mystery element, since Chrysi and Despair can't figure out why they were reunited at this time, nor why Despair now has his original body back, but I'll hold off for now ;;;

Jacks

Enemies to lovers, but Jacks has been enamoured with Chrysi ever since meeting her, so it was more of her ignoring him while he desperately tried not to make it obvious that he loves her.

He's a Fate named the Prince of Hearts from the Caraval trilogy (and the new series, which the first book is Once Upon a Broken Heart!) A villain again, since I apparently have a type. His kisses kill people, he can control people's hearts, and apparently he can also command people to do certain things. Only his "one true love" is immune.

He was also trapped in a deck of cards for hundreds of years, and only recently broke out!

He's an immortal, which means he doesn't experience human emotions. If they feel true love for too long, they become ageless and mortal, and very, very killable. A huge plot point for Chrysi and Jacks is that he tries to keep his love for her secret, because A) she threatens to kill him often, and B) if anybody else found out, they wouldn't hesitate to kill the Prince of Hearts.

Chrysi eventually finds out after he almost drowns to save her, and she... gets very angry with him for not telling her.

Their story happens mostly outside the canonical universe and/or the story written, since there's not much room for Chrysi there, BUT Chrysi does eventually end up meeting the other Fates Jacks interacts with. LaLa (the Unwed Bride) and Mistress Luck (Mistress... Luck... she doesn't have a name yet, and it makes me sad because she's my fav) become sorta-friends with Chrysi, despite not having the typical human definition of friends.

Chrysi uses Jacks as an informant most of the time, since he's so easy to manipulate and since he's got useful powers for her. Most of the time, she's using him. She doesn't realize she's also fallen for him until he almost dies for her.

Their relationship is difficult since Chrysi's not really over Azure when she starts working with Jacks. By the time they officially wind up together, Chrysi's more into Jacks than Azure, but of course... drama. So I throw Azure in just to throw Jacks off-balance. It's also a good time to mention that Azure's been Jacks's only friend in all the years he's been alive, so... yeah. Yikes.

Gilbert

He's one of the main trio from the manga Pandora Hearts! He and Chrysi have more of a coworkers to lovers story and, funnily enough, he's the only guy Chrysi's been with that was the last one to realize he liked her and she liked him back. (Chrysi's typically very blind to people loving her, due to relationship trauma).

Gil's very dedicated to his childhood friend, Oz (who disappeared into a void called the Abyss for ten years, only to come back the same age he was before. Gil is now 24 while Oz is 15), which definitely causes some tension between him and Chrysi.

He was a servant of Oz's, and when Oz disappeared, he ended up being adopted by the rival house (Nightray). In addition to THAT, he eventually discovers that he's actually a Baskerville (one of the protectors of the Abyss) and he jumped forward in time 100 years through the Abyss. So. He essentially has three families (which my favorite AU has come from this concept).

There are creatures called Chains in this universe, some of which escaped from the Abyss and need to be sent back. Gil has a Chain he controls as well. Chrysi has none.

They both work for the agency Pandora in setting rights to the Abyss and how it affects the world.

Gil is honestly useless and awkward when it comes to love, and he gets extremely flustered anytime Chrysi flirts with him. Eventually, it becomes even more difficult for him to be clear with his affections towards her when he discovers her past fiance (Azure) ended up dying gruesomely and put into the Abyss. Chrysi's still not over it.

Turns out Azure was turned into a Chain, which is a fun plot point later.

(I know this is very disjointed, but Pandora Hearts is confusing without reading it, so,,,, I apologize ;;;;)

Chrysi's also dying slowly! And Gil was going to become the leader of the Baskervilles 100 years in the past, which means the current leader can control his actions. So there does come a point where Gil is commanded to shoot Chrysi and he does, much to his horror. Ironically, almost killing Chrysi was all that she needed to keep her alive. Inexplicably.

A huge part of their relationship is also that they're basically the parent figures to Oz (Gil's childhood friend) and Alice (the girl Oz brought back from the Abyss, who they THOUGHT was a Chain, but she is not, and also she loves Chrysi so, so much. That's her older sister!!). Due to the events of the end of the manga, Alice and Oz end up disappearing for 100 years, only to be reborn 100 years later to find Chrysi and Gil still waiting for them (both Chrysi and Gil don't age!)

Just because I feel like Azure and I would get along LOADS better, and Jacks is probably just as shocked. BUT YEAH I WOULD DEF PLAY THE CASUAL OBSERVER/MAKESHIFT THEARAPIST FOR SURE IF POSSIBLE-

THE MENTAL IMAGE OF YOU DEFENDING JACKS WHILE HES LIKE “?!!???!???” ABT IT IS HILARIOUS TO ME. even funnier is you being like, “yeah, i like azure more—” *offended jacks noises* “—but chrysi and you have been married for two years, so i agree with the technical fact that you’re her husband.” “was that a defense or just a basic fact repeat?” “yes.”

to be fair to chrysi, i don’t think she has a side either. she was kept in the dark for over a week, and while jacks has had a week to figure out the weirdness of azure coming back to life, she’s been thrown in the middle of it. she definitely isn’t in the right state of mind after finding out her dead husband is alive and her current husband didn’t tell her when he should’ve.

jacks is struggling since he’s always felt like he’s being held in comparison to azure, and now azure’s here to be compared to. chrysi’s confused/overwhelmed exclamation of azure being her husband hit him right in the insecurities and anxiety, and jacks has always been desperate in loving her. he doesn’t want chrysi to lose sight of what they’ve been to each other for the past three years (she won’t! she still loves jacks! after he reminds her that he’s her husband, she bursts into tears and hugs him and is completely incoherent in her wound reopened by magic outside of them)

azure’s in pain because everything’s changed and he just feels like five minutes have passed. the love of his life and his best friend are together. had everything else been different—had he not come back to life—he would’ve been happy they were together! especially since they’re still honoring him after his death (his and chrysi’s wedding pictures still being on display!), but that’s not the case and he feels like he was just with chrysi yesterday.

all of them are hurting, and what’s worse is that they don’t have time to deal with it when there’s danger coiling around them and it’s hard to focus on it!!
