Everyone who draws gy without the monocle, I appreciate your efforts
#it's a fabulous accessory and so I understand why he's always drawn with it - but#it's a telltale sign of what he thinks of a weakness that needs to be hidden in his position#and this is one of those things that I find interesting about him. the struggle to mask what needs to be masked#and perform the part that needs to be performed#he's trying to hide his poor eyesight so he'll avoid wearing it in public at all costs#it's only when the medicine wears out and he doesn't have a new doze at hand and the situation absolutely calls for a sharp sight#or those rare occasions he doesn't bother with the medicine in the privacy of his own home#or with close circle of friends / personnel#and this is an important step in his relationship with cg too. when he starts allowing cg to see him like that#and also. that time the medicine stops working altogether and he's wounded and needs to wear one constantly - it's not a dainty pretty thin#it's thick and covers a big part of the other half of his face#does he even need it post canon / during extras? I've always thought he doesn't
