Here's an interesting one so listen up carefully! 5:20-ish, the Happy Couple are shown VT footage of Meghan being interviewed in 2015, in front of something that looks like it says "Comftidioemts" [sic] which I can't be sure of because I'm vision-impaired. I'm not suggesting that this is some kind of ageist, anti-blind person thing, but it looks to me like a logo for a rural dental practice: "Comfidents - the most comfortable teeth you'll ever wear." But here's the weird thing - the interviewer asks her, Prince William or Prince Harry? Meghan giggles, shrugs and says, I don't know? Harry? Remember, this is the actress who swears she doesn't know the Royal Family and didn't know Harry before the blind date, even though her best friend's mom says she was obsessed with Diana. And then when VT Meghan suggests "Harry?", the Netflix now-husband Harry giggles as if he's delighted he's got one up on his brother. It's really weird, creepy-outy stuff. considering William and Catherine were married in 2011, had Prince George in 2013 and were expecting Princess Charlotte at this point.

It's no good, it's evening and I'm cracking open the gin. Still got 52 minutes of torture ahead of me. Trust me, I'll get through this for you. Eventually.

January 2020 Picks

And we’re back!!! Been watching a lot of great stuff recently that I’m excited to chat about. These are just a few of highlights. I’m not 100% caught up on the Arrowverse shows yet, but did enjoy the Crisis a lot-especially after the second watch through. SPOILERS AHEAD!!

ANNE WITH AN E

This 3rd season was my FAVORITE so far, which makes it even more depressing that this is the end. I watched it the fastest and even stayed up till 1 AM to finish the series after watching four straight episodes. (Normally I try to space out bingeing stuff because I don’t want it to end so fast.) This series has always taken liberties with the source material to make it even more relevant to today, but I especially felt that during this season. It did not feel forced one bit. From Bash losing Mary and overcoming being a minority in Avonlea to Ka’kwet’s story line that brings me to tears every time I think about it-especially because she made it ALL the way home just to be taken back. Would love to believe she’s back with her parents, but the ending this season doesn’t show it. Perhaps they were thinking about pursuing it more if there was a 4th season. Josie Pye’s assault was a nice commentary on the Me too movement as well as the Human Rights and Women’s Rights march. I’m so happy Matthew survived this series! I was so worried for him. (As readers know he dies at the end of Anne of Green Gables the novel. Most adaptations often keep it in and I am happy we diverted from the original this time.) Jerry and Diana were adorable at the start, but Jerry deserves so much more! (He got SO TALL! As I often remarked while watching this season.) I absolutely loved the boy craziness this season because they were “Now 16!” Tillie balancing two guys! Ruby’s crush on Moody was super cute. I loved when Anne was forced to ask Gilbert about having babies by the girls. THE STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS!! (applause) 1) Mrs. Stacy: as a widower she will not settle for just anyone to marry. 2) Prissy Andrews: I really like that they brought her character back up and that she attended college. So sad that Billy will still be the head of her family. 3) Diana gets to go to Queens (a change from the novel as well, but one that was a great choice). I really liked her chat with Aunt Josephine. 4) Of course Anne Shirley. There’s so much to say about Anne, but one of the things I really liked this season was getting insight into her own personal family history. Seeing her mom’s book at the end was very touching. I love that she also had red hair. Last thoughts: Delphine is the CUTEST BABY EVER! Seriously a fantastic actress. Her relationship with every person in the show was amazing. And of course my beloved Shirbert. I knew they were endgame (because of the source material), but BOY did they take their time getting there). Screw Winnie! Anne and Gilbert’s relationship hurt my heart throughout it all, but so many adorable moments between them proving they are meant to be. Forever my OTP!      

SANDITON

I am seriously feeling the period pieces this month (but then again when am I not). As a HUGE Jane Austen fan I was extremely excited when I heard that her unfinished novel, Sanditon, would be adapted for the TV screen. Because I was unfamiliar with the story (which is always a fun time when one of your favorite authors has been dead for the past few hundred years) I made sure to add the novel to the top of my 2020 list. Due to its length I was able to finish it before the series started a few weeks ago. While I was not a huge fan of the unfinished novel, because I found it difficult to connect with any of the characters or see where the story was headed, I already feel differently about the mini-series. By the end of episode 1 I was already hooked and very happy that PBS aired the second episode immediately afterwards. I can see parallels to Austen’s work as well as echoes to other Austen novels (naturally Pride and Prejudice). When listening to the Masterpiece podcast in which they interview Rose Williams (who plays Charlotte Heywood) she described Charlotte as a cross between Elizabeth Bennet and Catherine Morland (from Northanger Abbey), which I think is really accurate. I like how Charlotte goes to Sanditon because of her interest in seeing this place that Tom Parker gets so excited about. She honestly isn’t looking for a husband, but rather an occupation. Something different away from her farm. Is romance involved? You betcha. This is an Austen adaptation afterall. But that is not her main focus. There’s so many other things going on with the story, but I’d have to dedicate a complete other post to explain it all. I really feel it is fitting in well with other classic book to screen adaptations coming out right now like Little Women and Anne with an E. If you’re a fan of either one then Sanditon is worth a try. And of course if you love Jane Austen and the 1995 Andrew Davies adaptation (he’s producing this one as well) then it’s worth a shot! 

THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE-SEASON 4

Just like with Anne with an E, I think this was my favorite season of The Man in the High Castle (and ironically also the last season. Although this series knew that going in to production). It held my interest very well and I watched it faster than the previous season. I really don’t think I’ve been this invested since season 1. Lots of new characters were introduced and while I missed some of the old it just shows you how much this show has developed. I also felt myself liking the new characters really fast. At first all of the multi-verse stuff was pretty intense and a little hard to follow, but it got easier as the show went on-EXPECT FOR THE END! Were all those people coming through because their worlds were much worse? What happens next? How are the Smith children? Amy and the other students who were brainwashed-will they change? Kido will stay. Did Childan find Kikuko? (Loved their relationship btw. I’m going to believe they got to be together in the end. It will make me sleep easier.) I was constantly saying to myself: How are they going to wrap this up in only 4 episodes...3...2...etc.. But I feel like it could have been a bit stronger. Despite this I still am a big fan of this season. I just get picky when it comes to series finales.  

DOCTOR WHO 

Last I had posted about Doctor Who I was very behind. Like I only watched last year’s holiday special this year behind. It was just tough for me to get into last season. I’ve really enjoyed Jodie Whitaker’s take on the Doctor. I feel she brings a new energy, but at the same time reminds me of the way Tennant and Smith portrayed the role. It’s just that I missed some of the familiarity of the show. It’s always hard getting a new Doctor because the show takes on a different feeling, but with all new villains, companions, TARDIS, etc it was tough. I wanted a couple more old references. I also didn’t love all of the episodes (although a bunch of them were really good: Rosa Parks, Demons of the Punjab, Kerblam! to name a few). So when I watched last year’s special at the beginning of the month I felt I zoned out a bit. However, Spyfall (parts 1 & 2) that kicked off this season were entertaining and I’ve been hearing good stuff about this season so far. Now that the show is on its second season with these characters, I’ve heard there’s more of a rhythm. I can’t wait to continue. I also can’t wait to see these guys again: 

PLUS I discovered a HUGE spoiler about last week’s episode that honestly that has honestly gotten me so pumped; it is the main reason why I am catching up faster. (I won’t spoil it here if you still don’t know it. I foresee I’ll probably write an article just about that episode.) 

VIOLETTA 

My guilty pleasure that I have been bingeing on Disney+. This musical telenovela from Buenos Aires has three seasons of 80 episodes a piece! (That’s right I have my work cut out for me.) Currently only the first season is up on Disney+ and the show is pretty hard to find, so I am really hoping that by the time I finish it they release at least the second season. I only started it in the new year and am already on episode 42, so you can say I’m enjoying it... :) Basically once I hit 30 I was hooked. (Although I was enjoying it a lot before that, now I’m just more obsessed.) There are several characters in the show from the students, to the teachers and family members, but the main character is Violetta who has lived in many different countries all her life with her dad who is a very successful businessman. She has been home-schooled forever due to their lifestyle and because of her dad’s worry that she will be hurt in the real world. Her mother was a popular singer who died when Violetta was very little that she barely remembers her. When they move back home she secretly gets enrolled in a music school that her mom just so happened to attend. Her tutor is secretly her aunt (who no one recognizes because Violetta’s dad told her that her mom had no relatives) and she has to hide attending the music school and singing which is her ultimate dream. That’s just the basics because there is so much more drama in the series. Lots of lying, deceit, love triangles that just won’t quit, ridiculousness and music. While they repeat a lot of the same songs, many of them are quite good and really catchy that you can’t help but get them stuck in your head. My sister (who loves this show) kept talking about it and that made me want to watch once we got Disney+ (she was lucky to watch two seasons when it was still on Netflix). As she said to me, you should watch it in the original language, which is Spanish with English subtitles. I feel like I’m learning more Spanish while watching it. Probably be fluent by the end (ha ha ha ha-not really).

Updated Baby Name Guesses for the Babypocalypse!!

As of 1/10. This is about to be a very long post. I’m so sorry in advanced. 

After yesterday’s announcement that Jessa and Ben are expecting their third baby AND the new speculation that Jana is courting based on her having an instagram account (!!!), I am making an updated list of my baby names guesses for the next grandduggars. I’m also putting these in order of which I think they will have babies.

Ben & Jessa Charlotte Elizabeth or Charlotte Hannah for a girl. So I looked up the names Charles Spurgeon and William Wilberforce (who Spurgeon and Henry are named after) and clicked the “people also searched for” and Hannah More, Elizabeth Montagu, Elizabeth Griffith, and Charlotte Lennox appeared. 

Calvin Tozer for a boy. After A. W. Tozer and John Calvin. 

Jessa has said that she likes older sounding names so I think these both go perfectly and they also sound great with Spurgeon and Henry. I do think this baby will be a girl.

Josiah & Lauren Someone on here said that they think that their theme will be an “S” theme. Josiah and Lauren’s families both have letter themes and Josiah and Lauren’s middle names both start with M but that’s Josh’s theme. So J, L, D, and M are out as far as letters for them to go with. So going with S would be the safest route. 

Sofia Milagro for a girl. Sophia is such a pretty name, it starts with an S, I can see Lauren liking that name, and it goes really well with Lauren’s middle name.

Silas Matthew for a boy. It starts with an S, goes with Josiah’s nickname “Si” and the middle name is also Josiah’s, so he finally gets his name sake. 

I think their first will be a girl.

Josh & Anna Mia Lynn for a girl. M theme still going strong. Lynn is Priscilla’s middle name and both of their daughters have family middle names. Renee after Anna and Grace is after Susanna’s middle name (Anna’s sister) and of course Jordyn Grace. So I think that is a good guess for at least the middle name. Only picked Mia because it goes with Lynn.

Miles Edward for a boy. M themeeeee. Edward is Anna’s brother Nathan’s middle name and I believe that is her father’s middle name too. I only picked Miles because again it goes with Edward.

I think their next child will be a girl. 

John & Abbie  Hudson John for a boy. I saw the name Hudson the other day and when I was making this list I thought it sounded really cute with the middle name John which I definitely think they will use for a middle name for their first son. 

Emmie Grace for a girl. For some reason this name kept coming to my mind when I was trying to think of a girl name for them. It’s nick name sounding like Abbie is and it’s cute and sounds southern, which both John and Abbie are.

I do not think they will have a theme. I think their first child will be a boy.

Derick & Jill Anabel Michelle for a girl. Going with their -el theme and then naming her after Michelle.

Gabriel Richard for a boy. -el theme. Naming after Derick’s dad.

I think their next baby will be a girl. 

Joe & Kendra Hunter Paul for a boy. I just feel like at some point a Duggar person will name their child Hunter. I definitely see it from Joe and Kendra. Paul after Kendra’s dad. 

Brinley Renee for a girl. I just see all the -ley girl names happening in the Caldwell-Duggar household. Renee after Kendra.

I think their second will be a boy.

Jeremy & Jinger Isaac Joseph for a boy. Felicity means happy and so does Isaac. Joseph after Jeremy and I guess after Joe too because Jinger has mentioned how close she is with Joe.

Evelyn Diana for a girl. Evelyn is apparently a close name to Felicity. And I think it’s pretty like Felicity. Diana after Jeremy’s mom.

I think they’re having a boy next.

Austin & Joy Ellianna Joy for a girl. Elliana means “God has answered me” apparently. Saw it on pinterest. Made the spelling with two n’s to put Anna in the name. So it is double Joy’s name. lol

Ezra Terrance for a boy. Ezra is a biblical name and I feel like it goes with Gideon. Terrance after Austin’s dad Terry. 

I think they will have a girl next.

Jana (for fun) because courtship speculation. Ava Marie for a girl. 

Owen William for a boy. 

I think Jana, whenever she has a child, will have a girl first.

Chapter Fifty-Five

Finally getting cell service after being in Switzerland and then the flight home, Brianne couldn’t wait to unpack and recharge. The vacation/getaway was supposed to be relaxing for the couple, but Brianne realized she wasn’t cut out for the royal treatment. She enjoyed the feeling of being with Harry but she didn’t enjoy being passed around like a piece of meat, especially during parties.

She wasn’t a partier, ever. Brianne assumed that was because she went right from college with Lynn, to pregnant with Rhys to then being a mother her whole life. Her mother and father taught her hard work pays off and she had done so her whole life. There weren’t vacations to, well, anywhere, except maybe America every once and a while when she was kid. She never had enough money to take Rhys away on vacation, so relaxing to Brianne was sitting for a day by the beach or lounging outside her dad’s house with a straw hat on her head and a book and margarita nearby.

Lynn was waiting at the airport for Brianne when she landed. Harry was spending another day in the snowy weather to ski with Guy, Eugenie and Jack. Catherine and William were also on the same flight as Brianne – just in first class.

As she disembarked, Brianne through her hood up and grabbed her carry-on bag. Her son was waiting at Kensington with her father.

“Are you and Harry having problems?” asked a reporter who pushed his way to the front asked as Brianne was walking down an escalator. “Are you and Harry having marital issues?” He asked again, seeming to follow her. After he asked a third time when Brianne turned around.

“Excuse me?” She questioned flipping down her hood and walking over to him, attempting to not make a scene or have William and Catherine come through.

“You heard me,” the man replied in a huff.

Brianne tried to calm her breathing before starting. “You try work for and living into a family you know little about. Taking on and hearing stories you don’t expect to hear. I didn’t grow up doing this. I feel confident in myself to go around alone. I don’t need Harry for everything I do. He’s a big boy. He’s done engagements for years before me.”  She turned around, flipped the hood back up and went to Lynn who already had her bags in hand.

“What?” Lynn asked as the best friends got in the car. Brianne should be happy to be home, not tense and rough. Brianne just shook her head at the question. She didn’t want to go into detail. “Bri, you’ve-“

“No,” the royal girlfriend cut off her friend. “I don’t have to explain. I just can’t do this anymore. I’m not cut out to be the girlfriend he wants. I’m not.”  Lynn sat and listened as Brianne explained the meltdown at the club and New Year’s Eve.  She sniffled before getting out of Lynn’s car at Nottingham; and composed herself as she walked into the house, smiling at her little boy.

He turned at the door’s opening. “Mummy!” Brianne’s tense feeling left as she knelt to her son’s level and hugged him with everything she had.  The life had gotten the best of her, and she needed to cool down; even if it meant forever.

Her dad saw through her façade and patted her shoulders. Lynn and Huw went upstairs to give the mother and son time to talk through some things.

“Mummy, I had so much fun with Charlotte and George.” Rhys rambled. “We coloured and watched movies and I got to see the Queen. Mummy, the Queen.” Brianne nodded as she took some Advil and continued to listen to her son but looked out the sliding glass doors at the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Park. The park was lined with people happy and unknowing her pain.

When she turned around she had tears pricking her eyes. She hated to leave this life, the man and family but she knew she had too. If she was ever going to be herself again, she had to go.

“Go upstairs, Rhys. Go pack some things. We’re going to take a trip,” Brianne told her son. He nodded and ran off to find his grandfather and Auntie Lynn. “Where did I go wrong?” Brianne whispered to herself.

She walked over the front foyer and she looked at the set up; which was under her purview. In between two candles was a lone photo.  It was Harry, Brianne and Rhys at Althorp House, near the Round Oval Lake. Brianne’s head was on Harry’s shoulder and Rhys was on Harry’s lap. She was taken from her revire when Lynn came down with two of her suitcases and Huw came down with a suitcase for Rhys.

“Where are you going, B?” Lynn asked sincerely. Brianne shrugged.

“America.” She deadpanned.

“America.” Huw nodded before clapping her on the shoulder. “Be well, Brianne. Don’t runaway because you’re scared, don’t runaway because you don’t love him. Don’t runaway because you don’t want to be found. If you’re going to runaway, runaway to make a new life.” She nodded and they talked out details. She would leave her car at her father’s house and Lynn would take them to the airport.

She left a note for Harry explaining she was quitting as his chef, and leaving as his lover. She’d call him in a few days to officially say goodbye but her heart and mind wasn’t in the relationship anymore.

A/N: This is really hard to write. But I needed to write this to make Brianne realize the world is setting her up to be with Harry. She’s going to find Harry at every turn, even through she’s not in the UK. She’s just running away for a few chapters, to “find herself.” Haven’t we all at some point?

The adorable six-month-old prince has been snapped in the Royal Family’s official portrait to mark Prince Charles’ 70th birthday and the images hark back to pictures of a young Prince William and his mother Princess Diana taken in 1983. Prince Louis is dressed in an adorable blue and white smocked romper suit, with a peter pan collar and line of embroidery, for the special occasion. And the romper’s style was clearly borrowed from the Duke of Cambridge’s own similar outfit, when he was a baby in sweet photos taken at Kensington Palace with his late mother, Princess Diana.Doting mother Kate, 36, can be seen smiling cheerfully as she cradles her youngest child in her arms.

The Duchess of Cambridge is also known to dress her eldest son Prince George, 5, in hand-me-downs and replicas similar to those sported by William as a young boy in the 80s.

So it’s no surprise that Louis’ romper is also incredibly similar to the sail-boat embroidered suit a baby Prince George was pictured wearing on his arrival in Sydney with his doting parents in 2014.

It has been nearly four months since Prince Louis’ last public appearance at his royal christening.

The Royal Family’s newest member did not make an appearance at Trooping the Colour to mark his great-grandmother the Queen’s official birthday in June, or Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding just a month after he was born. 

Most recently, Prince Louis failed to make an appearance at Princess Eugenie’s Royal Wedding.

But royal fans can expect to see him again when his next official portrait is released around Christmas time.

The Cambridge’s traditionally send out a Christmas card emblazoned with an image of their growing family.

Clarence House released a pair official portraits of Prince Charles and his family to mark his 70th birthday celebrations.

The future king looks happy and relaxed as he poses with his wife, Camilla, sons Prince William and Prince Harry, his daughter-in-laws Kate and Meghan Markle and his grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

On June 21, 1982, a future king was born.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles welcomed Prince William at St. Mary’s Hospital in London 36 years ago today.

“He has the good fortune not to look like me,” Charles said at the time of his first-born son.

The now father of three was the first royal baby to be born in a hospital—a tradition he’s continued with his own kids with wife Kate Middleton.

Kate gave birth to all three of their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and newest addition Prince Louis, at St. Mary’s. Each baby got a royal debut in similar fashion to their father’s—including not revealing their names right away.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte‘s names weren’t revealed until two days after their births, while Prince Louis‘ took four days. Charles and Diana delayed sharing William’s name for several days as well.

A notable difference between William’s debut versus his kids is the wait time between when Kate made an appearance on St. Mary’s steps as opposed to when Diana did.

Kate has become famously known for her quick post-birth exits. Following both the births of Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte, she was in and out of the hospital within 12 hours. (After Prince George was born, she spent one night in the hospital before heading home to Kensington Palace.)

Diana wasn’t as into the same-day dash. After William’s birth, she spent the night, and introduced him to the public with Charles one day later. She did the same with his brother, Prince Harry.

The royal dad has paid tribute to his late mother in many ways—from naming his children after her (Charlotte’s middle name is Diana) to continuing her humanitarian work.

“William is keen to subtly keep [Diana’s] legend alive,”  Ken Wharfe, Diana’s ex-bodyguard, previously told PEOPLE.

Since 2007, he has also served as president of the Royal Marsden Hospital Trust, a position his mother held from 1989 until her death. Just as she did in 1996, William observed a procedure during a November 2013 visit.

“We’ve got more photos up ‘round the house now of her and we talk about her a bit and stuff,” William said last year in the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.

“It’s hard because obviously Catherine didn’t know her so she cannot really provide that…level of detail. So, I do regularly (when) putting George or Charlotte to bed, talk about her and just try to remind them that there were two grandmothers in their lives,” he continued. “It’s important that they know who she was and that she existed.”
