How long do you practice when you are exploring a new medium? I really have to keep at it. And the truth is that some days I feel like I am moving forward and other days I feel like I’m starting all over at square one. I used to get frustrated with the process and with myself when this happened, but now I recognize it as the steady progress of learning something new. Who hasn’t been afraid to take that big first step and do what is in their heart? Being an artist can be scary. Every day that we create art and share it with the world we put ourselves out there and that’s a big deal. We take a leap of faith. Will people love it or hate it? That’s the million dollar question, but should it be? I think as Maker’s we tend to place too much emphasis on this one question when the better question to ask might be- “do I love what I am doing right now?” If we are going to share it with the world shouldn’t we love it? Shouldn’t we believe in it? Shouldn’t we believe in ourselves? __ I am taking my own leap of faith this year and doing what I love as I say YES to being the special guest in Tuscany for La Dolce Vita 2020!
