This is me when being torn between NTTF and ITGD if I want a good ol' re-reading session of an Aegon fic of yours.
Gloomy Depths is so short it's like a little appetizer and then NTTF is the main course (plus cocktails of course) 🥰🥰

ITGDevlog#15: The Last One
This is it y’all! The last Intro to Game Development Devlog with my final group project DONE (and available to play HERE!) There’s no web build right now because unity wont let me build a web build for some reason :((((
Our game is called Brick by Brick, inspired by Mother Mother’s song Bit by Bit! As some of you saw in the previous devlogs, you’re trying to survive in the forest and also build a new home before night time comes!
You cut trees with your mouse! If you don’t move too far away from the tree though, you won’t be able to ACTUALLY chop the tree. There’s weak and strong trees so you can’t go wild on the trees. I worked on this mini game and it’s a little buggy because of the mouse detection and my mac isn’t the best when it comes to speed etc.
You also gotta stack some bricks!! You have to press random keys along with a mouse button to slam those bricks down!! I didn’t work on this one, but I can def tell ya the lerping my teammate used is vvvvv nice touch!
The last minigame is to collect apples and avoid pine cones that stun you! I added a cute lil’ particle effect for when you get an apple and one of our artists made an animation for when you don’t catch the apple ( which is pretty juicy looking if you ask me!) The main stuff we did this final week was put everything together! Like we needed to: - Put in art & sound assets - Sprinkle in some ‘juice’ - Make the apple game a lil harder - Make sure the game has an end state and it can be replayed
Gensuta is the Sound Designer and one of the main programmers. VNotGames is another main programmer. Drew and Isaac are the artists of the game. ( But everyone did a bit of code at some point of development!) They’re all wonderful people so I suggest following them on Itch.io/other social media C: And that’s it! I’ll probably try to do more devlogs and like...maybe research how to actually write a devlog because I still...don’t know how... But it’s fine! Until next time! Have a wonderful day and stay hydrated!!!! - Gensuta

Coronavirus: Your complete guide to the global Covid-19 outbreak
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/coronavirus-your-complete-guide-to-the-global-covid-19-outbreak/
Coronavirus: Your complete guide to the global Covid-19 outbreak

A new kind of coronavirus has spread from a central Chinese city to all but two continents, and growing outbreaks outside China have raised fears of a pandemic. The death toll is approaching 2,500. Economic disruptions in China, where millions are under lockdown, are expected to hurt global growth. The World Health Organisation has declared the the spread of Covid-19 — the name given to the disease caused by the novel coronavirus — a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
This guide will help you understand the scale of the coronavirus outbreak, and explore different facets of the story — from basics such as symptoms and precautions to the ongoing “infodemic” and the impact on global business. You’ll regularly find links to other useful resources on Covid-19 and related stories.
Let’s begin.
What is the novel coronavirus?

Notice the spike proteins on the visualisation of a coronavirus, left, and on the surface of the avian infectious bronchitis virus virion (left in inset collage). They create an effect resembling the solar corona (visible during a total eclipse) and give the family Coronaviridae its name. [Credits (from left): (1) CDC. (2) CDC/Fred Murphy; Sylvia Whitfield. (3) NASA/Aubrey Gemignani. Montage by ITGD Design Team/Vikas Vashisht]
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses named for the crown-like effect (corona is Latin for crown) created by the spike proteins they use to invade cells. Found in a number of animals, they can sometimes be transferred to human beings in a “spillover event”, causing mild to severe disease. The pathogens causing MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome) and SARS (Severe acute respiratory syndrome) are coronaviruses.
A previously unknown variety of coronavirus was discovered recently through a cluster of mysterious pneumonia cases linked to a seafood and live animal market in Wuhan, the capital city of China’s Hubei province. The pathogen, now named SARS-CoV-2, can spread between people and has reached every continent except South America (although Brazil has suspected cases) and Antarctica. It causes a condition called Coronovirus Disease 2019, or Covid-19. No specific treatments exist yet. The death toll is approaching 2,500.
Are you at risk?

Infection risk is higher in places where there’s currently an outbreak. The overwhelming majority of cases are in China, but there are now growing outbreaks in countries such as South Korea and Iran. People in close contact with Covid-19 patients, such as their families and heathcare providers, are among the groups at greatest risk. For now, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), it seems infections are more likely to be severe in the elderly and people with pre-existing medical conditions.
Only three Covid-19 cases have been reported so far in India, all of them in Kerala. The patients have been discharged and are in home quarantine. All Indian nationals evacuated from China so far have tested negative, but some Indians aboard the Diamond Princess, a cruise ship moored off the coast of Japan, have tested positive.
How deadly is Cov-19?
Although we still don’t know exactly how deadly the coronavirus disease is, available data show that deaths account for a tiny fraction of the case count — only around 2.3%, based on the biggest ever study of Chinese cases. But even this number varied by region, and — significantly — increased with age; deaths were at 8% for senior citizens aged between 70 and 79, and 14.8% for patients aged 80 or older. By contrast, it was 0.2% for ages 10 to 39. The fatality rate was higher for men (2.8%) than for women (1.7%).
On February 17, the director-general of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said 80 per cent of coronavirus patients had “mild disease” and would recover. The graphic above, created by IndiaToday.in’s Mukesh Rawat, shows the increasing trend in the number of discharged Chinese patients between February 2 and February 20.
Symptoms and precautions

Photo: Reuters. Infographic by ITGD Design Team/Vikas Vashisht
Here’s what WHO says about Covid-19 symptoms.
As with other respiratory illnesses, infection with [the novel coronavirus] can cause mild symptoms including a runny nose, sore throat, cough, and fever. It can be more severe for some persons and can lead to pneumonia or breathing difficulties. More rarely, the disease can be fatal. Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as, diabetes and heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus.
WHO recommends good hand and respiratory hygiene, as well as social distancing, as precautionary measures. We highly recommend that you read the UN body’s detailed advisory, available here, to learn how you can reduce your and your loved ones’ risk of infection. Don’t put off going to the doctor if you have fever, cough or breathing difficulties, and make sure you inform her (or him) if you’ve travelled to a part of China where the novel coronavirus has been circulating. Ditto if you’re been in close contact with someone who’s returned from China and now shows signs of respiratory illness.
Beware fake news!

A screenshot of a fake coronavirus news story posted on Facebook.
Does keeping your throat moist help keep out the novel coronavirus? Has India found a cure? Did China ask for a court’s permission to kill thousands of coronavirus patients? No, no, and no. This is all fake news, as India Today TV reporters demonstrate in the links attached to the above questions. And it is part of what WHO has called an “infodemic” surrounding the outbreak of Covid-19.
Naturally, sharing or acting uncritically on such information is dangerous. Make sure you follow trusted sources like WHO and India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. You can also get the latest stories and news videos from the India Today website’s dedicated coronavirus page.
Coronavirus in India

Indian authorities have been working to detect and contain the novel coronavirus, and three people in Kerala who were found to be infected have been discharged. Hundreds of Indian citizens have been brought back from Wuhan and have been declared infection-free. New Delhi says China is “deliberately delaying” another rescue operation.
There are eight Indians are among a large cluster of coronavirus patients on the Diamond Princess, a cruise ship moored off Japan’s coast. They are receiving treatment at a hospital in Japan.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently claimed, without offering proof, that the government isn’t taking the coronavirus threat seriously. Though that is clearly not the case, there are issues of concern, such as potential risk factors like the lack of supportive intensive care outside big cities and limited expertise. Experts have also raised eyebrows at recent AYUSH ministry advisories pushing homeopathy and unani.
Tracking the virus: Data analysis
How have the coronavirus case count and death toll risen with time? Are more or fewer people dying each day? How are cases spread out in China? And what do infection patterns elsewhere look like? Answers to such questions help experts better understand and respond to public health crises like the outbreak of Covid-19. Now, you too can track this data using simple visualisations created by IndiaToday.in’s Mukesh Rawat — take a look at the example above. Click here to explore further.
Life under lockdown

China has declared a “people’s war” against the coronavirus epidemic. Hundreds of millions are under varying degrees of lockdown. Satellite images of Wuhan from Planet Labs show eerily deserted streets, bearing out an Air India pilot’s description of flying into what looked “like an apocalypse”.

Planet (@planetlabs) January 29, 2020
Distraught Chinese in Hubei were recently advised to “have a good cry” or take their stress out on a punching bag. Psychological support helplines are, according to a Reuters report, “overwhelmed”.
Business woes

A financial center in Beijing’s Central Business District, on February 22, 2020. (Photo: Reuters)
A China under lockdown is bad news for global business. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says the country will grow 0.4 percentage points slower in 2020 (at 5.6%) than predicted earlier, shaving 0.1 percentage points off global growth. And that’s in the best-case scenario. “We are also looking at more dire scenarios where the spread of the virus continues for longer and more globally, and the growth consequences are more protracted,” said Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the IMF, on February 22. Chinese President Xi Jinping says the coronavirus outbreak won’t hurt his country’s long-term growth.
India Inc is sure to be watching closely. Choked supply from China could hurt sectors like automobiles, pharma and consumer electronics. While some experts believe Indian business is already feeling the pinch, the RBI says the impact here will be limited. Check out this India Today TV Data Intelligence Unit report for an analysis of the potential coronavirus impact on Indian imports from and exports to China.
The whistleblower

Li Wenliang didn’t know the names of the virus or disease that would kill him on February 7 — they were chosen later — but he was one of the first to detect the threat. But when the Chinese ophthalmologist, 33, alerted fellow doctors to the outbreak of a SARS-like disease, he was accused by authorities of spreading rumours and had to sign a statement promising no more trouble. For many of his distraught compatriots, he died a hero. According to a CNN report, one user of Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, wrote to the Wuhan hospital that announced Li’s death: “Countless young people will mature overnight after today: the world is not as beautiful as we imagined.”
“Are you angry? If any of us here is fortunate enough to speak up for the public in the future, please make sure you remember tonight’s anger.”

I just finished cannibals and girl you already know I want to be tagged lol
Aegon is already my favorite, I love your characterizations of him. Also like, their family was just NOT getting it during that meeting and I couldn’t stop giggling about it 😅
I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds! ITGD was surprisingly not heartbreaking so I’m expecting there to be tears at some point for this one 😂😂

Bestie you know I would be thrilled to tag you! 🥹😘 I'm so glad you enjoyed Chapter 1!!! Everyone keeps saying that Gloomy Depths ended up being way too happy/painless for a Maggie fic and that therefore Cannibals must be heartbreaking, and...well...who am I to disagree 😅

ITGDevlog #13: Our House
This week in Intro to Game Dev..
We’re starting Final (Group) Projects!! It’s run in a game jam sort of way as in like we all have a theme to work off of but really we all have a song. My team of 4 has to make a game inspired by the song Bit by Bit by Mother Mother
My team and I were all thinking about building like a house/cabin and having it to do with something in the woods after listening to this song. To make the load not to heavy, we decided to go with a warioware-esque game where you’re doing minigames and depending on how well you do them it affects how well your house is built! We did some brainstorming (and a few mockups that I need to go find) for each minigame and the minimum amount to be in the final (due May 15th) would be 3 while the maximum would be 6. The mini games(which I’m excited about) are about: - Cutting wood - Stacking bricks - Catching Fruit - Befriend Wolves - Forging Swords - Fishing ;) The prototypes for cutting wood, stacking bricks, and catching fruit might actually be done by tomorrow, but we’ll see!
Currently the cutting wood minigame works but is laggy as heck!! My computer isn’t even lagging its just the editor so I’m really confused :l ( See below)
How this is working right now is that there’s this treeManager script that creates whatever number of trees you give it and adds the trees and the treeScripts into a list so that you can actually focus on the tree at the very front! Oddly enough in the gif it seems like the dimmed color the trees in the back are suppose to have isn’t changing when they become the current tree so i gotta fix that :/ Not only that, the collision detection isn’t happening enough. There’s two types of trees. One that is cut with one swipe and another with two swipes bUT the lag is stopping that! Each tree has HP and a box collider that the mouse can collide with ( by using ~raycasting~) and yet it’s just acting funny
Ignore my typos for the debug “heyhey” and also the distance2tree stuff. We as a team planned on having the cursor be a certain distance away from the tree before it to be cuttable and I did make work sort of!! The lag broke it! Like all the trees would go at once and a bool I had was equaling true and false at the same time?? Really weird stuff bc thats not possible, so I need to really get that lag issue fixed...
Anyway. That’s it for this week! There will be a lot more nice stuff ( and a lot less lag) by next week ;v; Remember to be kind to yourself! -Gensuta
