perpetually annoyed by the way newer seasons treat morty. Sorry not Sorry !
#its saauurrrrrr annoyinggg to watch like seasons 2 and 3#where morty is actually decently capable and already exhibiting a bit of edge#and then to watch s5 and 6 just. pretend that never happened and just quietly revert morty to the wimpy sidekick in s1#THERE IS SO MUCH ROOM TO EXPLORE JADED MORTT#i know the writers themselves have admitted that mortys development was a bit more rushed than it maybe should have been#but i feel like at a certain point you need to stick to the cards youve been dealt instead trying to haphazardly retcon character arcs#sorey to bust down a controversial opinion here but mortys inconsistent characterization makes unmortricken borderline unwatchable for me !#like i can acknowledge things happened in that episode and emorty 💪💪💪💪 etc but#watching morty being s1 level wimpy and incapable is just. frustraing! especially when you have episodes in the same season#like s7e2 WHERE MORTY IS PERFECTLY CAPABLE! very much thriving!#i keep saying this but its just infuriating to watch rick get more development in a single episode than morty gets in an entire season
