As with the other holiday books in this adorable series by Latifa Berry Kropf and Tod Cohen, I love "It's Purim Time!" (2005) as a very simple, lively introduction to the holiday for toddlers and preschoolers through a context of familiar classroom or daycare activities. Kids will love following along through Cohen's photographs as a young class prepares for Purim by finding costumes to act out the various characters in the Purim story; building a castle out of blocks for King Ahasuerus and Queen Esther; making noisemakers (there are instructions in the back of the book to make your own, and they're bird-friendly!); and eating hamantaschen, traditional Purim cookies.
