One of my favorite parts about ordering food on Seamless, Grubhub, or delivery.com, is exploring all the options. These delivery services come in handy for so many reasons. One prime reason is avoiding picking up the phone and calling a restaurant. It is quite literally “like a game of telephone” sometimes. When you order over the phone you have so many factors like bad cellphone service, outside noises, accents, and the possibility that the person taking your order could just not be listening. Order online, and save yourself the headache!

So many NYC restaurants, whether your order online or in-person, offer great “Lunch Specials.” You can get some pretty delicious, otherwise more expensive meals at a discounted rate! Sushi restaurants are almost always offering a 2 or 3 Maki-roll lunch deal. Whenever I am craving sushi, I order from Izumi Sushi. Quality, and affordable.

Izumi’s 2-roll lunch special for $9 comes with Miso soup – making it a steal in New York City! My go-to sushi roll combo is spicy crunchy tuna roll and salmon avocado roll, with a side of spicy mayonnaise, of course. I love how fresh the fish tastes. The avocado in the salmon avocado roll is just as fresh as the salmon, making it the perfect compliment for the tasty fish. The spicy crunchy tuna roll always has the perfect tuna-to-crunch-to-spicy mayo ratio. I prefer dipping in the spicy mayo, wasabi, and soy sauce for a real kick of flavor and spice. Not to forget about the hot, tasty Miso soup, the perfect side for a sushi lunch. If you hear Miso soup and think of something watery and flavorless, it wasn’t from Izumi.

I am very cautious about ordering sushi from new restaurants. I only order from the restaurants on seamless that have 4 or more stars and over 100 reviews, it feels more trusting when you’re not sure what you’re in store for. Though I never write about the bad experiences I have had, one time I ordered a similar lunch special from a different restaurant (that shall not be named), and found a fish bone in my sushi roll. I almost choked on it! The fish also tasted incredibly fishy, as if it were sitting for a few days. Nothing is worse than stale sushi!
