"Face," which was released as a debut song on March 15, 2012, is going through a speedy chart reversal after ten years because of SNS. Though fans are welcoming the chart reversal with joy, the group's disbandment has also made it a rather regretful situation.

The group that debuted with "Face" was the five-member boy group NU'EST. NU'EST debuted on March 15, 2012 with the single album "Face" but it did not garner as big of a reaction as other rookie groups at the time.

At the time of their first debut, they promoted as five members composed of JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren, though after about a year, Chinese member Jason was added to the group and they promoted as six members under NU'EST-M.

Currently, many people are keeping NU'EST's "Face" alive through Tiktok and Instagram as though it was a dance challenge. Since the song became famous after 10 years, more people started looking for its original singers. Naturally, NU'EST was mentioned and many people came to learn about the current state of the group.

Although most people accepted that NU'EST was a disbanded group and simply uploaded videos, NU'EST's fans would explain in greater detail and the truth of their chart reversal became known. It was through this that many people felt their regrets.

A popular celebrity from NU'EST

On February 24, 2017, NU'EST announced their suspension of activities as four members would appear on Produce 101 Season 2. The members who decided to participate in Produce 101 Season 2 were JR, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren.

This was where Minhyun was selected to be in the final lineup of Wanna One, and NU'EST had the chance to be known once more. Without Minhyun, the remaining members resumed activities as NU'EST W.

Called "monster rookies," Wanna One was an eleven-member boy group (including Hwang Minhyun) that received enormous attention from the public. They were also the first singers who debuted in Gocheok Skydome.

Groups who were chosen through Mnet survival programs showed a trend of possessing an explosive popularity and fandom. IOI, who debuted through Produce 101, were in a similar situation.

Earning amazing ranks from debut, they became the representative leader of third generation of k-pop boy groups. The group was composed of members Yoon Jisung, Ha Sungwoon, Hwang Minhyun, Ong Seungwoo, Kim Jaehwan, Kang Daniel, Park Jihoon, Park Woojin, Bae Jinyoung, Lee Daehwi, and Lai Guanlin.

NU'EST members lately

NU'EST has actually suspended activities. Their company, Pledis Entertainment, revealed that their exclusive contracts had expired last March 14, 2022. They finished the last of their official activities with the release of their best album "Needle and Bubble."

NU'EST JR (Kim Jonghyeon) has moved companies to Evermore and debuted as an actor and solo. He is promoting the release of his first mini album and solo debut, "MERIDIEM."

NU'EST Aron (Kwak Youngmin) is currently working independently without a company. A native of LA, he left his company and decided to go solo. Having had several years of experience as a radio DJ, he has expressed that he has started preparing for his first solo activities on his podcast.

NU'EST Baekho (Kang Dongho) has re-signed with his current company Pledis Entertainment. The name "Baekho" was given to him by After School's Uee. Baekho is continuing his solo activities after the release of his first mini album, "Absolute Zero."

NU'EST Minhyun (Hwang Minhyun) is actively promoting after re-signing with his current company Pledis Entertainment. He officially began his solo activities with the drama "Alchemy of Souls" and his first solo fan meeting.

NU'EST Ren (Choi Mingi) left his company and decided to move to Big Planet Made. He plans to continue actively promoting as a solo artist and actor.

Build Up Recap Episode 2: Beautiful (orig. Crush)

Welcome back to another recap in my Build Up recap series! In the previous one, I covered Decalcomanie, a song originally performed by Mamamoo. In this one, I finally bring the Pre4 mission to an end with the performance of Beautiful, originally by Crush. Let’s go!

I found a youtube clip of this part, if you’d like to watch.

Once the judges have stopped laughing at poor Suhwan for his jacket, Dahee announces the next team, which is the final team -- team Beautiful. Backstage, all the guys react -- they all love this song.

The song itself might be familiar to you if you watched the drama “Guardian,” also known as “Goblin.” (I know everyone loved it, but I found it… weird.) It was sung by Crush, who you might remember from the song Rush Hour.

And here to sing it are Taewoo, Kim Minseo, Jeong Yunseo and Lim Sanghyun.

Taewoo introduces himself by saying, “I’m in charge of the unique voice. I’m managing a startup while I sing. I’m singer-songwriter Taewoo.” Jaehwan on the judging panel says, “Ah, a CEO!”

Minseo says, “I’m in charge of powerful voice. A Dex lookalike.” The judges decide he really does look like Dex.

Yeonseo introduces himself as an all-rounder, a “hexagon vocalist.” (Basically, “hexagon” is slang for saying you’re multi-talented.) He says he’s a trainee at Mystic Story. Mystic Story manages Lucy (a boy-band) and Billlie (a girl group).

Sangyhun didn’t get the sweater memo; he’s going blazer. He quietly introduces himself by saying, “I’m in charge of soul and sweet voice, singer-songwriter Lim Sanghyun.” And we find out that Sanghyun helped produce Jaehwan’s fourth mini-album! That’s cool. We stan a talented king.

The judges point out that two of them are trainees, and ask if they’re nervous.

Yunseo confidently says he’s not nervous, and we go into a flashback.

Minseo, at a pre-production meeting -- it must have been a while back, since his hair is like an inch shorter -- says that he’s been a trainee for 4 years.

He mentions that he trained with Ricky, Gyuvin, Yujin, and Zhang Hao from Boys Planet/Zerobase1, so I guess he was/is at Yuehua. He couldn’t help but feel al little jealous and frustrated that they had that “dreamy opportunity.” I get it -- that’s normal, I think.

We hop to the guys at their first meeting, starting to distribute the parts. Yeonseo is getting a lot of compliments from the hyungs, and says he’s good at adding harmony. He seems confident about adding ideas, so Minseo starts to feel a bit intimidated. He says he’s never really done harmony. Really? After four years? What have you been working on, lovey?

Sanghyun takes on the role of helpful hyung to Minseo. Minseo tries the harmony with some of the others, and they let him try the ending, helping to build up his confidence.

So, how will the trainees do?

My thoughts:

This performance is squarely in my “really really good, for some reason not super-star” tier. A+, just not quite S. But it was still A+!

I think part of it is that Lim Sanghyun and Taewoo have incompatible voices, so changing from one to the other line to line made them both sound worse.

Lim Sanghyun led off with a lovely, soft gruff tone that I actually had to turn my volume up to hear. It was very sweet and gentle, almost like a whisper, but still tuneful, which isn’t easy to do. He also brought the song to a lovely finish with his tone. I think I’d rather just hear him sing a song all the way through, just him singing, because I’m not sure his voice blended with any of the other voices here. But I did really like his voice on its own.

Taewoo has what I’ll call a YG voice. It would not be out of place singing a Big Bang song, with his specific, sharp nasal vocal color and swaggy affectations. It’s quite lovable in its way. It doesn’t sound great back to back with Sanghyun’s voice, unfortunately, but if he were singing a verse from Fantastic Baby I’d be into it. He lets notes kind of flop down instead of holding them, he sort of swoops on some notes, that kind of thing. He doesn’t seem to prioritize pitch, though he can definitely hit the right notes when he is harmonizing. He was so sweet and encouraging to Minseo during their harmony portion, so it’s a bummer that I have to say that among these four, his performance was my least favorite. He does have my favorite sweater, though.

Going from their teasers, Minseo had my favorite voice among these four, but I think his lack of experience showed here. I really, really liked his teaser performance of Rolling in the Deep by Adele (V39), and said that he has a distinct, real voice that shows some training but also some rough edges. But here he was soooo nervous. It really showed. I can’t blame him -- I think I’d probably pass out if I had to sing in front of Baekho and Solar. But his nerves made him short of breath, and he couldn’t properly support some of his high notes and had to go into falsetto. He also was going way too fast. In a later third of the performance, he seemed to struggle with agility, pausing on a sort of odd note in a vocal run. (Maybe that’s what it was supposed to sound like? I admit I don’t know the song perfectly.) He still sounded beautiful, despite those slight problems, and I think that was mostly nerves.

Yeonso was a bit of a mystery going into this performance, since his teaser track had such heavy backup vocals that I couldn’t really be sure what was live. In this performance, he did a good job and had a lot of power. He has a very clean voice, if a bit thin, with good power and breath support, and I think “all-round” describes him well since I think his voice could jive with anyone’s. Except I guess Taewoo’s. I guess that compared to the more interesting voices of the other three, he fades out a little. Also, I basically couldn’t get a shot of him with his eyes open, because they were closed 90% of the time when he was singing. Open your eyes, guys! I'll give you a prize. I'm telling no lies! Just open your eyes.

The harmonies sounded great and I wished there were a few more of them.

I’m not really sure who I’d pick as top tier. Each had a lot of pros and a few cons. Part of me wants to say Minseo since I just like his voice best, but then I think Sanghyun is the one I walked away wanting to hear a whole song from… so maybe Sanghyun.

The MNET edit makes it clear how much everyone likes Sanghyun’s sweet voice, but they also like Taewoo’s -- they call it “chic”, which I think is fair. Maybe that’s kind of what I meant by saying it was a YG voice. They like the two trainees’ voices too, and they should, they’re good singers.

And as the song draws to a close, the translations do too. I looked and looked on Youtube for a clip of this section, but couldn’t find it, so thanks, Youtube. Thootube. At least google-translate-camera is always here for us.

Jaehwan says, “This team is awesome!” They get a “barrage of applause” and Gwangseok backstage says they did great. Everyone agrees that the ending was great, and they were very stable.

Random members of the groups were missing. I think while the performances were going on, they may have been being photographed for their official photos, in another room.

Dahee tells Baekho that should could tell from his facial expressions how much he enjoyed the performance. He agrees.

Baekho enjoying the singing. I think. I guess?

Baekho says, “The charm of each voice is different. Each time the part changed, the joy was incredible.” I get what he’s saying, though that wasn’t quite my experience here. (fun fact: google translate calls Baekho “White tiger judge,” which I love.) Sanghyun caught his attention with the intro. Backstage, Woong and Wumuti agree.

VCG says, “In the beginning, that ooh yeah part, that’s really difficult.” Jaehwan agrees, adding, “Right, because once that first note goes out, it’s over.” VCG goes on to to compliment Sanghyun’s precise pitch -- he was eating CDs, y’all. “I can hear all of your efforts,” he says, “and I bought into the song because of you.”

Solar speaks to Taewoo, complimenting his “unique technique and tone. It suited this song very well.”

As she compliments him, Taewoo closes his eyes in relief. He looks a tiny bit like he might cry. Aww! Taewoo is lovable, I find. Well, I think most of these guys are. Anyone who wants to be a singer is somehow lovable to me.

She tells them all they did a great job -- it was a beautiful stage.

VCG takes some time to call out the two trainees, that he had low expectations but he was wrong because they did well. No mention of Minseo rushing the beat -- I guess they only yell at Bitsaeon for that. Regardless, the praise well deserved. They say thank you and bow.

White Tiger Judge (Baekho) adds that Minseo’s pronunciation is so cool, which is extra funny if you remember how hard of a time Minseo had with the English word “underestimate” in his teaser. (I’m not really making fun of him -- foreign languages are hard, and the rest of his pronunciation was so good that it really emphasized that one mistake.)

Both Baekho and VCG also heap more praise on Yunseo, telling him his voice is “pretty and precious.”

Overall, the team suited the song, and it was all beautiful. But now they have to pick a top tier. Who will it be?

Baekho, Eunkwang, and Jaehwan vote for Lim Sanghyun. Solar votes for Taewoo, and VCG votes for Jeong Yunseo. So Sanghyun wins!

Sanhyun says he really didn’t expect it. He says his team talked about it and decided it didn’t matter who was top tier -- they just wanted to create a beautiful stage. He says he feels like he was chosen as the top tier because of his teammates, and he thanks them sincerely.

Aww, that’s some nice team building you got going there! It’d be a shame if someone were to come along and.... fuck that all up!

Dahee says that Sanghyun had told her/the producers/someone that he wasn’t sure if he’d continue with music or not, so she thanks the judges, saying she hopes it will encourage him to continue. Jaehwan is like, hey, we worked together not that long ago! What do you mean, you were thinking of quitting music? Everyone laughs.

Sanghyun says that he really loves music and wants to continue making it. (The subtitles come back, thank god!) He just wasn’t sure if he’d be able to make it as a singer, as opposed to a behind-the-scenes person. So Build Up is a good opportunity for him.

Beautiful team leaves the stage, and the judges say that even though they gave the standing ovation to the Don’t Go, Don’t Go team, Solar says she liked this team better. The judges all tease each other for not giving this team a standing ovation too.

And since that’s the end of the performances, I think I’ll wrap up this post here. In the next one, I’ll do a brief wrap up of the pre4 mission, then later on I'll cover the whole top tier, middle tier, low tier stuff, you know, the part where they fuck up all the team building, and that will take us into episode 3. [ARTICLE] HEROES LJ Not Participating In Groups Next Comeback

Following the release of HEROES teaser images for their next release, many fans were left puzzled when they noticed the group's main rapper was missing. The company then issued a statement addressing the tweets:

Hello. This is Hysteria Entertainment.

We are releasing a statement to address the fans concerns regarding our client, Lim Jaehwan, and his absence from recent promotional images.

The truth here is that due to a breach of contract, Jaehwan will not be taking part in his group's upcoming release. Jaehwan will be on a temporary hiatus while the company and the individual come to a mutual understanding and agreement.

We thank you for your understanding and patience.

Of course, fans speculated, many jumping to conclusions and inferring the idol was caught with illicit substances while an unknown source on social media alluded to misconduct with a fellow idol within the company, which confused and caused much concern among the group's fanbase.

There had been some noticeable tension between members, namely Van and D-LOW, who many have noticed seemed a bit more distant from the main rapper in recent VLIVES and vlog footage.

Fans have taken to social media with mixed reactions:

I’m so bored of seeing ppl want vixx to have a tiktok .. crying over the one that’s there isnt actually official official and saying shorts are unpopular.. but they can’t grasp that youtube shorts will be monetised tiktok is not.. and don’t they all think vixx are too old so wouldn’t they be too old to do this stuff

spreading these reactions videos of randoms reacting to vixx’s mv videos and vocals 😪 wanting 6 vixx back when it can’t happen, complaining about the stupid fish over stupid shit like not having a tiktok.. not realising all companies are bad but there are far worse companies. complaining about the outfits, taeks hair!!! the mv but then going back on what they said because Hyuk did it all. and that’s another thing saying Hyuk did it all like he was paying for it all, making out jelpi wasn’t paying anything out. Saying taek and jaehwan should move to his company … his company isn’t a damn agency company it’s a directing and producer team what they gonna get taek to do hold a boom stick or a wire??? Send jaehwan out to get coffees and edit .. ffs. And Hyuk is literally an artist with companion company so how would he have time to accommodate two main vocals/musical actors at a company that doesn’t even cater to that .. also he’s literally gonna enlist next year .. oh but it can happen when he gets back .. just .. enough

Vixx Reaction to you being bratty

- Requested -

Hakyeon: Will not hesitate to put you in your place, whether you’re around others, or in public. He can only take so much before he snaps, so when he told you for the second time to stop trying to tease him during movie night at the dorms, he’d sigh, and lean over.

“Baby.” His voice threatening as he pulled you into his side so the other’s wouldn’t hear. “If you wanna be able to sit properly for the next week, I suggest you cut it out.”

Taekwoon: Doesn’t bother with you because he knows you’re only doing it because you want attention. Normally, he’d let you throw your fit, and punish you once you gave up, you knew this by now. So this time you would just keep the act up, giving up would mean giving in, and you were determined to get the reaction you wanted, even opting to get in his face.

“Are you done, yet?” He glared at you, cocking a brow as you mocked him. “I’m gonna give you three seconds to get your shit together." He threatened. "If not, you’re gonna regret it.”

Jaehwan: He’d try to not let your whining get to him as he worked, and it just made you whine louder. When that didn’t work, you moved to the couch where he was working and started blocking his view of the laptop screen with your hand, even daring to snatch the laptop from him and run to the room.

“Babygirl.” He chuckled as he walked into the room, your smiling form pissing him off even more. “I’m gonna finish my work, and you’re gonna be a good girl and stay right here. Get up even once, and you can forget about cumming for the next two weeks.”

Wonsik: You had repeated that you were horny like it was the only sentence you knew, and when Wonsik didn’t give in, you threatened to do it yourself, leaving him to kindly remind you that you weren’t allowed to. When you went to say something else he cut you off using his hand to cup you over your shorts, his face inches from yours.

“I’m really not in the mood to hear it.” He growled, his hand palming you. “This is what you wanted right? You wanted me to touch you?” He laughed at the whine you let out, before removing his hand. “Too bad.” He fake pouted. “Bad girls don’t get to cum.”

Hongbin: You were needy. He knew this, and still made you wait for him to finish dance practice. So of course you had the right to cop an attitude with him. What you didn’t have to right to do was make a scene right there in the practice room with everyone around, but he still saved you the embarrassment of getting on you in front of everyone.

“All because you couldn’t wait?” His voice deep as he backed you into the bed, scoffing as you fell back, sliding his hand into your pants. “Since you embarrassed me, I’m gonna embarrass you.” He winked. “So don’t hold back. Let them hear you.”

Sanghyuk: You’d been complaining for no reason, and he was desperately trying to not get on you for the sake of his members that were around, but when you slammed the door to his bedroom a little too hard, he got up, heading straight towards you.

“Do you even have a reason to be acting out?” His voice was louder and you were starting to feel embarrassed. “You can either get it together, or you can leave this room unable to sit. Your choice.”

Miscarriage [Jaehwan and Wonshik]

Jasmine’s pregnancy was going perfect. She was in her last trimester with her fiancé, Jaehwan, and her daughter. And everything was ready for their daughter’s arrival. Jaehwan had set up the nursery and he had been by Jasmine’s side through the entire pregnancy. He was nothing, but supportive and loving as he was excited to have a child with the woman he loved. Though, they did receive a lot of backlash since Jasmine was pregnant before they were married. However, after being together for as lone as they were, neither of them really cared about the hate because he knew it was only a matter of time when he would marry her.

One day, Jasmine was with Jaehwan, the VIXX members, and their significant others. They were lounging about enjoying the Saturday night together for their movie night. Throughout the day, Jasmine felt off as she would rub her stomach in the hopes to feel her daughter kick or move, but there was nothing. She hadn’t told Jaehwan as she didn’t want to worry him. Something told her there was something wrong, but she tried to push it off as her overthinking.

“Babe, you okay?” Jaehwan pulled her from her thoughts. His hand rested on her stomach. He rubbed his thumb on her stomach as she looked up at him. He pecked her lips, “You feeling sick?”

“No, I’m just a bit tired” she lied. “I’ll make some more popcorn. You guys want something?” They told her no as she got up and headed to the kitchen. She threw in her popcorn bag in the microwave when she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. She hissed as she held onto the counter out of shock. Her other hand rubbed her belly. The pain amplified as she felt liquid gather in her underwear. She let out a sharp cry drawing the attention of the others.

“Jasmine!” Jaehwan shouted as he ran into the kitchen. Jasmine squatted down in pain as she held her stomach. “Babe, what’s wrong?”

“The baby!” She cried, “Something’s wrong…” Another wave of cramps hit her.

“We need to get her to a hospital” Taekwoon rushed out. Jaehwan and him helped her up, both holding on tightly to her arms to keep her from falling. The others movers out of the way as Hyemin raced to the car and got the door open for her.

Not only had Jasmine had a miscarriage, but she had to give birth to her dead daughter. It was all because of the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and eventually ended up suffocating her. Jaehwan was with Jasmine through the labor and when they were asked if they wanted to see her, they immediately said yes.

Jasmine cradled their daughter, Lauren, in her hands. Neither Jaehwan or Jasmine could stop crying as they stared down at their child. He was on the bed with her. “She’s so beautiful…” Jaehwan swallowed a lump in his throat as he rubbed his fiancée’s back. “Why can’t she just cry? Just once…” Her voice cracked, “I just want to hear her once.”

Jaehwan held Jasmine close, but said nothing. He didn’t know what to say. His heart was shattered, but he could only imagine how much pain Jasmine felt. He put his head on top of Jasmine’s head as she cried. Jaehwan knew they could get through this, but it was hard to voice it. He wasn’t ready to lose his baby girl. He never imagined they would go through such heartache at the end of this pregnancy.

Wonshik

When Deja found out she was pregnant, she fainted. Her sister, Elfie, and cousin, Kiara, were with her the day she found out. Already mothers themselves, they knew how the shock could be. It sounded bad, but at first Deja didn’t want a baby. Not that there was anything against her husband, Wonshik, but neither of them were ready for that. Wonshik was a successful solo artist who just dropped a new album and was preparing for his solo concert. Kiara and Deja just got approval to opening up their own salon in Gangnam. Everything was JUST going right and their careers were taking off. She knew she had no one else to blame, but herself and Wonshik for not using protection. She knew it would catch up to her.

Even though her sister and cousin encouraged her that it would be fine and that they’d be there every step of the way, she wasn’t ready to be a mom. She was terrified. Even more so on breaking the news to her husband that she was pregnant. Deja had expected him to get frustrated, but instead she was greeted with shock. It wasn’t a bad shock. Wonshik wasn’t ready to be a dad, but he knew it was his responsibility. He was happy that he was going to be a father, but like Deja, he was scared. Neither of them were sure how to be parents.

However, as the first few months went on, the idea of being parents grew to them. Even while Wonshik was out on tour, he was reading up on how to be a father as Deja was on being a mother. He would get pictures of the ultrasounds and he only grew in anticipation that the little deformed thing in her womb was their child. Their son what they came to discover later on.

Elfie took Deja out shopping one day to start buying things for the baby as Deja’s fifth month approached. Elfie was so excited to be an aunt and had plans to spoil her little nephew.

It was during the shopping, Deja felt like a liquid traced her inner leg. She looked down at her bare leg to see a red liquid at her calf. Soon after cramps started to plague her. She hissed as she touched her stomach in a panic, “Elfie, call the ambulance–please.”

Elfie watched her sister go to her knees in pain. She shook seeing blood on the front of Deja’s dress. “So-some-someone!” She screamed alerting a worker. The worker ran over to see what was going on and immediately called for an ambulance.

At the hospital, Deja gave birth to a dead son. She refused to see the child as the nurses took the corpse to prepare it for the wake. Elfie stayed by her side, but Deja didn’t shed a tear. She just stared at her hands that were once covered in blood. “Funny” she whispered. “I didn’t want a child and I got my wish…”

“Deja…” Elfie reached over and touched her sister’s arm. “It’s okay. You were looking forward to having a baby. I understand. Things change.”

Deja’s eyes casted down to her stomach as she let out a weak laugh, “God must have known I was gonna be a shit mom.”

Elfie tsked, “You’d have been a great mom, sissy.”

Deja’s eyes blurred with tears as she looked up at Elfie, “Then why did he take my son from me? Why if I was going to be a great mom? Why?” Deja broke down into tears suddenly. “Why wasn’t I good enough to have my son?”

Wonshik was in Japan when Elfie called him to tell him the news about the baby and about Deja’s state. He was preparing for an interview when he got the call and he immediately called it off. Wonshik was told by Elfie Deja wanted him to stay in Japan and finish the concert as he only had one more stage to do, but he wanted to be with her. Elfie got off the phone as Wonshik struggled to understand the news he was given. He was getting into the idea of being a father and now… now he lost his child and he couldn’t even be with his wife when she needed him. Wonshik felt at odds with himself as he weighed his wife’s wishes to his desires. It was destroying him inside until he bought the first plane ticket to Incheon, cancelled his concert, and hightailed it back home. He couldn’t focus on his concert. Not when his wife was possibly in pain a thousand times more than him.

Jung Sewoon Enemies to Lovers Scenario!

I’ve sort of morphed together two anon requests to create my first Sewoon scenario, enjoy! (You + Jung Sewoon)

You and Sewoon were both music majors in college at a competitive music college that accepted very few students

You were majoring in piano performance, Sewoon was majoring in music composition

Sewoon was your senior at the school, and he was relatively famous at the school for being in a band and composing songs for others at the school and artists

In the band, he played guitar and sang, making him the “face” of the group, leading to widespread popularity

Because of this, you already knew exactly who he was before even getting accepted to the school

However, you (and pretty much everyone else) didn’t have any actual information on his personality outside of his music skills and band persona

He was relatively quiet in the classroom, only seen talking with his best friends Jaehwan, Youngmin, and Donghyun

(Sewoon and Jaehwan were actually caught wildly giggling together in class once, a rumor that had spread around the school earlier that year)

Basically anything that Sewoon did was talked about, but he didn’t really do anything about the attention

You had gone through your freshman year without many problems, it was a pretty normal year

So when you returned to school for sophomore year, the last thing you expected was to find that your dorm room assignment was right across the hall from Sewoon and Jaehwan

Like you open your door and bAM thats their room ! !

You were pretty nervous at first about this situation, because lets be real who wouldn’t be... the two were practically celebrities at the school (Jaehwan was highly regarded by the students because of his stellar performance on a singing variety show)

It was really cool at first, being so close to Sewoon and Jaehwan on a daily basis, even though you never talked to them lol (I mean, they were practically celebrities at this point)

You would always greet them politely, though, at least at the beginning of the school year

But that got old FAST

The long nights of singing and guitar strumming quickly turned from interesting to heLLISH

Like how are you supposed to sleep if the two decide to sing the Jurassic Park theme on repeat at 3 in the morning

Soon, you were absolutely tired of the both of them (physically and mentally), and after holding back for weeks, you finally ended up bursting one night when they just wouldn’t stop singing: this time it was Sewoon doing impressions and Jaehwan maniacally laughing in response

So in a matter of seconds, you immediately switched from being some harmless neighbor to psYCHO BITCH and gave the two roommates a piece of your mind

It really was a frightening sight: you screaming at the top of your lungs in a ginormous t-shirt, your hair going every which way, a consequence of rolling around in bed for hours

Jaehwan immediately apologized, but you didn’t hear Sewoon mutter under his breath “this is a music school, what do you expect”

(good thing you didn’t hear that, or who knows what would have happened)

Anyway you thought it would be all fine and dandy after that, as you headed into your room, but as you closed your door you heard Jaehwan being the idiot he is, claiming that your hair looked like Chewbacca if he “walked straight into a hurricane”

You whipped the door back open to scream some more, only to come face to face with Sehwan’s closed door

You sighed and gave up, climbing up to your bed to attempt to save the last hours of sleep you had left

The next morning, before heading to classes, you met Sewoon in the hall outside your door coincidentally

Not the best timing; you were still pissed at the whole Chewbacca thing

“Ah, (Y/N), good morning... I see you’ve... improved your hairstyle”, he greeted you, unable to hold back a mischievous smile at his own “joke”

It was the first time he had ever called you by your name, but you weren’t starstruck at all; if anything this comment worsened your mood

You didn’t have it in you to respond, and just blankly stared at him before walking away

Your anger subsided throughout the day, but when you returned back to your dorm in the evening, you were greeted with the undeniably pleasant but to you, angering sounds of a strumming guitar and a quiet voice

You dumped your backpack in your room and immediately walked over to Sehwan’s room, banging on the door

“It hasn’t even been one day, can y’all just stop fucking playing for one second??” you screamed at the closed door, once again looking like a crazy person

“Or can you just go play in a practice room or a common room or literally anywhere el–” you continued, your rant suddenly coming to a stop when the door opened, revealing a calm-looking Sewoon, his soft eyes meeting your gaze

You were taken aback: based on looks alone, he really could be a rockstar or a boyband member or a solo artist or a CEO or a male model the possibilities are endless

Just like that, your anger was drifting away (Sewoon is Powerful), and it took all your might to keep a stern face

But that didn’t last long, when Sewoon finally spoke

“(Y/N). You realize this is a music school, right? Am I not allowed to practice in my room? This is for my career as well. Think about that,” he calmly said, closing the door

You were unable to respond to that, but still angry: just because it’s a music school doesn’t mean they have to play at night every day... right?

Your mind ran wild with insults and angry justifications for his behavior: He really let the “fame” get to his head, didn’t he. His band’s songs are lame anyways, whatever...

But for the next month or so, your sleep was interrupted every day in the wee hours of the morning, after a few quiet hours from 10pm to then

Jaehwan and Sewoon thought you would be asleep by then, and resumed their practicing/singing/screaming

At first, you would confront the two every day, but after seeing absolutely no change (“we thought you were asleep sorry”), you just bought a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, which seemed to do the job (despite how uncomfortable it was sleeping with them on)

Other than those few meetings, you never met with Sewoon – the two of you just mutually and individually decided that talking with the other would not result in anything good

Jaehwan seemed politer though, and you always met him with a smile

But one night at the end of the first semester, you were surprised to hear a knock on your door – a switch from the times when you always used to bang on Sehwan’s door

You were getting ready to sleep, and opened your door... who was disturbing your nighttime routine?

It was Sewoon, looking like he hadn’t slept in days, looking like a crazy musician, and your expression immediately turned unpleasant

You were prepared to argue with him about whatever he had to say but fighting was apparently the last thing on his mind

“(Y/N), Jaehwan’s not here and I really need someone to run this piano verse by for an assignment due tomorrow; I need to experiment with the guitar while I hear it in the background, can you please help me I really urgently need this or I wouldn’t be asking” he rambled, some of his words completely incoherent

And how could you be angry at that? For the first time he looked not like this star of the school but instead like a normal college sleep-deprived kid, and you had to admit that was adorable

“Yeah, sure, let’s make it quick though,” you said, as he lead you into his room

“Sorry about the mess, I’ve kind of been busy lately,” Sewoon muttered as the two of you stepped around his strewn-about clothes and cans of energy drinks

You sat at the piano, where Sewoon set a piece of handwritten sheet music on its stand

Sewoon grabbed his guitar and sat on the bench, right next to you, your knees meeting under the piano

“Sorry about that (Y/N), I’d like to see the music as well,”

“It... it’s fine,” you mumbled, the words tumbling out of your mouth as a blush coated your cheeks: the position you two were in was... innocent but intimate

“Okay, you can start now,” Sewoon’s soft voice snapping you out of your daze

You began to sightread the music, and Sewoon’s guitar jumped out with random notes and chords, melting the sounds of both into a beautiful mixture that satisfied your ears

“Oh (Y/N), stop there hold on one second,” Sewoon breathed, grabbing a nearby pen and paper before he started furiously writing notes and rhythms

You were shocked at the sight: he really was a true musician, a genius even, and you didn’t understand the amount of effort he put into his songwriting until now

He asked you to play again suddenly, and he would pluck out the tune again in perfect harmony

At times he made you play a part over and over again before deciding if it was good enough, shocking you with how caring he was about a single measure, a perfectionist indeed

This pattern kept on going for hours: Sewoon asking you to play and then telling you to stop when inspiration hit him

Time flew by, and you had no idea how much fun you were having – sometimes you added in your own little flairs to the piece, causing Sewoon to add the bits he liked into the music permanently

Despite how much you two had despised one another, you made a good team

Sometimes your arms would bang on one another’s while playing, causing the both of you to laugh when wrong notes were hit as a result

You really felt yourself enjoying the time you spent with him: as a performer, you practiced a lot, but you had never experienced how much creativity it took to write music

He wasn’t just this incredibly beautiful and popular guy: he was talented and hardworking as well, and you felt the respect for him welling up inside of you

In the middle of the morning, Sewoon was finally finished with his writing

“Thanks so much for your help (Y/N), I would’ve been up all night if it weren’t for you... it’s so much more time efficient when I don’t have to play both parts,”

“It’s no problem,” you mumbled back, glancing shyly at Sewoon in response

You two stared at each other for a moment, still right next to each other on the bench, before Sewoon’s gaze snapped away and broke the silence

“It’s already 2, you should get back to your room,”

What?? 2??? Already?? I haven’t even been here that long, you thought, before checking your phone and gasping in shock, making Sewoon laugh

You had given up your precious sleep to be with him, and for some reason you weren’t mad at all about that

You stood up, ready to leave, but the thoughts you’d been having escaped your mind and out your mouth

“That was actually kinda fun, sorry I stayed so late... if you need help in the future just let me know,” you said, immediately getting embarrassed at your own words

Sewoon hit you with that charming smile, replying that “it was fun, nighttime is actually when I write best, so this isn’t late for me, no worries”

“Oh that’s why you–” you began, realizing that all those noises at the middle of the night were literally Sewoon composing like he had been today

You felt like an asshole and quickly bid him goodnight before escaping his room and jumping on your bed to attempt to sleep

But even though it was the middle of the night, much past your bedtime, you couldn’t seem to stop your mind from racing and your heart from beating about what had just happened

From then on, instead of meeting Sewoon with a glare or ignoring him completely when you saw him, you would subconsciously sneak glances at him or smile or blush and get all fluffy inside

You two would actually talk sometimes now, making Jaehwan completely confused on what changed the relationship between the two of you so dramatically

You suddenly didn’t mind the nighttime music sessions, and you actually found yourself falling asleep to the sounds of Sewoon and Jaehwan’s voices singing together

You weren’t sure if you two were friends now and didn’t know if you should approach him again or what

But about a week later, Sewoon approached you himself, thanking you for your help and letting you know that he had aced the assignment

You envied his being able to come talk to you like it was nothing (but little did you know that Sewoon had been looking for an excuse to talk to you again after that night

“Oh, I’m glad everything worked out, you really worked very hard on that”

“Thanks, I couldn’t have done it without your help, (Y/N),”

*cue awkward silence of twiddling fingers and stealing glances at one another

“Uh, so to repay you for that, if you want I can help you learn some guitar, it seemed like you were really interested that night,” Sewoon coughed out, nervously glancing at you (looking like a complete 180 (or 360 as ong would say) from his confidence-exuding stage presence)

“Oh, y-yeah sure that sounds fine, I mean I’d really like that,” you replied, this whole situation not making it any easier for you to focus

“Okay, Jaehwan won’t be here again tonight so just pop in when you’re free?”

“Sure, yeah, will do,” you replied, the both of you standing there for another second before waving goodbye and walking in different directions

For the rest of that day you couldn’t stop thinking about your meeting/lesson/date thing with Sewoon (what was it??) and zoomed back to your dorm after classes, stressing about what to wear and how you looked before giving up and settling for your normal sleep outfit

Don’t get ahead of yourself, (Y/N)...

You had no idea how you had gone from hating this guy to now... whatever you felt about him, but either way you weren’t thinking about it

That evening, you knocked on Sewoon’s door, and he opened it for your eyes to be greeted with a completely cleaned room

“Wow, Sewoon, you clean up well,”

“I assume you mean the room, not me,” Sewoon laughed back at you, as you finally looked at him, wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants lol

“You look really good too,” you let out accidentally, mentally kicking yourself as you caught Sewoon’s smile at your response, teasingly raising his eyebrows

The two of you walked into his room, Sewoon telling you to take a seat on his bed because that’d be the most comfortable place for you two to sit

He grabbed his guitar and sat next to you on the bed, immediately placing his guitar into your hands

“Uh, Sewoon, isn’t this your guitar,” you whispered nervously: it must be incredibly expensive, Sewoon was known for being extremely attached to and taking perfect care of his instruments

“It’s fine, (Y/N), I trust you, for now...” he replied, poking you

He started by teaching you the strings of the guitar and how to hold it, his fingers occasionally brushing yours, and his arm purposefully holding yours to demonstrate how to carry it

You felt his chest softly pressing against your shoulder and part of your back, and you thought that there was no way you would be focusing on the actual lesson

After that though, Sewoon let you play by yourself, you quickly picking up easy tunes like twinkle twinkle little star and hot cross buns (aw)

Your “lesson” thing lasted about an hour, and you actually started learning well – Sewoon was a great teacher

The lessons became a regular occurrence, happening most nights if not all, at the same time every day: Sewoon claimed that Jaehwan had an activity every night during that time anyway, so it’d be fine for you to come over

(what you didn’t know was Jaehwan was banished to a practice room or Youngmin/Donghyun’s room every night per instruction of Sewoon SLKDFJ LOL)

Sometimes your meetings would morph into a jam session, with you either playing like a n00b on the guitar or like a virtuoso on the piano, the both of you having a lot of fun together

One day Jaehwan got tired of having to wait forever to leave you two alone, and crashed your party, screaming “JUST DATE ALREADY WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO SUFFER FOR THIS”

“Wait, why are you suffering, Jaehwan,” you asked, unknowing of the situation

“SEWOON KEEPS KICKING ME OUT SO THAT HE CAN BE WITH YOU BECAUSE HE WON’T JUST TELL YOU ALREADY THAT HE–” Jaehwan exploded before Sewoon tackled him out of the room, slapping a hand over Jaehwan’s mouth, closing and hardlocking the door so that Jaehwan couldn’t even get in with his key LOL

“Sorry about that, (Y/N), I was going to tell you eventually but I guess he pretty much did the job for me,” Sewoon mumbled, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck

“I am honestly so confused right now, I barely could hear what was going on, Jaehwan honestly just seems psychotic,” you replied

“Oh, well...” Sewoon started, grasping one of your hands, “it’s pretty obvious but we’ve been spending a lot of time together and you’re a really good musician and really cute and I like you a lot,” Sewoon spewed out, as you stared in awe at his blushing face

He looks... adorable.

“UGH FINALLY!” Jaehwan screamed from outside the door (he must be listening lol), but the both of you ignored him (hah take that psycho)

“oh- oh? You do?” was all you managed to get out

“I mean, if you don’t like me that’s completely fine, I don’t have a problem with continuing to teach you guitar, I’ll just have to charge you now,” Sewoon laughed out, attempting at a joke as he let go of your hand

But instinctively you grabbed his hand with the both of yours

“No– no! That’s totally not it I mean I really like you too you’re practically a musical genius and you’re really nice to me even though I treated you like an asshole at first and–,” you awkwardly rambled, Sewoon cutting your words off by pulling you tightly into a hug

You expected him to say something, but all Sewoon was giggle like a fool and unlock the door for Jaehwan with one of his hands

“Hyung you can come in now,” letting Jaehwan fling open the door to find the two of you all cuddled up on one another

“EW I’M LEAVING THAT’S SO GROSS GET AWAY FROM ME” Jaehwan screamed, leaving the two of you alone again, laughing at whatever the hell just happened in the past 10 minutes

And that was that: you and Sewoon had somehow transformed from enemies to lovers

Lots of music dates, you willingly compromised your sleeping schedule to play music with Sewoon, sometimes writing your own

Guitar lessons continued, but... they became less innocent than before (I’ll let you decide what that should mean heh)

Nighttime karaoke was not unusual, and Jaehwan couldn’t resist participating

The two of you learned from one another, and brought different perspectives to writing and playing

You supported him at his concerts #1 fan lol and he always came to your piano performances

so darn cuTe yay
