MAKING A ROH JAEWON EDIT FOR MY INTRO RAGHGHGHGHHHHH

       with  his  eyes  rolling  in  her  direction  as  he  noticed  her  overly  exaggerted  gestures  in  response  to  his,  he  scoffed  briefly  before  giving  her  the  floor.  he  hated  to  admit  it  but  she  was  a  natural,  watching  her  be  so  free  and  confident  during  only  the  intro  -  he  slouched  back  into  the  sofa,  nodding  along  in  agreement  to  each  word  she  spoke.  "  i  enjoyed  it  for  the  most  part  but  in  my  opinion..  "  he  paused,  taking  in  a  deep  breath  -  his  audience  would  know  that  when  he  didn't  enjoy  a  game  or  had  something  negative  to  say,  he  would  brace  himself  before  diving  into  his  opinion.  "  it  was  repetitive  ..  lackluster and  overall-  boring.  the  graphics  were  amazing  and  of  course  the  starting  storyline  was  good  until  it  wasn't"  jaewon  was  renowned  for  his  honest  and  cut  throat  reviews,  even  if  he  were  paid  by  a  company  he  would  always  double  down  no  matter  what. "out  of  five  stars,  what  would  you  rate  it?  you  get  the  honor  of  giving  the  main  review  today  since  you  are  my  best  friend  and  because  i  want  to  get  into  the  drama  around  your  family"  he  chuckled,  shooting  her  a  playful  smirk  -  normally  his  reviews  would  last  much  longer  but  the  anticipation  of  having  her  gossiping  with  him  was  far  more  entertaining  than  he  was  letting  on.

            wanting  to  toss  out  a  snarky  remark  about  how  he’d  probably  let  her  back  on  even  if  she  messed  up,  jihye  misses  her  chance  as  jaewon  dives  straight  into  his  podcast  intro.  instead,  she  mouths  along  to  every  word,  mirroring  his  gestures  but  in  an  exaggerated,  animated  manner.  she  snickers  away  after,  "  and  i'm  miss  loser  headass  but  at  least  i'm  hot,  j-j-jihye  !  "  she  matches  the  energy  of  the  introduction,  even  doing  a  little  dance  before  finally  settling  back  on  the  seat.  her  mouth  forms  an  o-shape  upon  finding  out  what  game  they  were  going  to  review,  "  you  know,  first  and  foremost,  i  misread  the  title  of  that  game  the  first  time  i  heard  about  it  from  my  chat  .  .  i  replaced  the  s  with  a  c  .  .  "  giggling  behind  the  palm  of  her  hand  and  going  on  with  her  antics,  she  hums  in  thought,  "  okay,  i'm  going  to  be  serious  now  .  .  i  do  like  this  game,  game  design  wise  i  think  it's  decent  ?  but  i  think  what  i  like  the  most  about  it  is  the  setting  .  .  hong  kong  is  such  a  chefs  kiss,  "  and  she  does  the  matching  gesture,  "  choice  as  a  setting.  the  chaos  just  adds  to  the  craziness  of  it  all.  "  she  says,  settling  her  hand  on  top  of  his  very  naturally,  "  what  about  you,  mister  ?  what  are  your  initial  thoughts  ?  "

sketchpad splayed on his desk, hands covered in what seems like charcoal, unfinished sketches in each pages, worn out t-shirt, green fumes leaving his skin, labored breathing, the smell of cigarette smoke stuck in his hair, masking that scent with old spice, bright sun light hurting his eyes.

it takes time -- years -- of life taking everything from him. he used to be so happy, or at least that is what he wants to remember. 

how can a man born with such love and warmth turn into someone so hateful?

he remembers how his father comes home with snacks for him and his sister. he remembers how his mother will cook him fried chicken and make him kimchi fried rice, he remembers how they’d try to find a korean convenience store because somewhere out there in queens there should be one. 

he used to be so happy. he used to be so loved. 

his dad would tell him stories of his conquest in the war, of how he used his ‘superpowers’ to save their country. and little jaewon would always reply “i want to be like you someday” with such hope, even if he knows he can barely control his own. 

his mom and dad were always so gentle and careful with him, afraid that one day jaewon’s going to hurt himself, or worst reveal himself to the world. after all they ran away from their own country in fear of jaewon being used as a weapon of war, leaving death upon his wake. that was the truth, and more of the truth was that his father never wanted jaewon to be like him. all his father fed him were lies, as he was not the man he’s showing to his son.

he wanted jaewon to be perfect, they had high hopes for him, they had dreams for him, so when they found out that there was a school helping gifted children like jaewon, they were ecstatic to send him to xavier’s institute. jaewon spent his years there, honing his ‘gifts’, despite control being so hard to grasp, he had high hopes. 

he just wanted to be like his father, he badly wants to be that good. he tried his best not to miss a sunday in church, he’d always go home to be with his family during weekends. 

but one day, due to his ambition of being the best, he missed a weekend, and bad news had been delivered to him in return. his family was killed. . .and he never really know why. something’s amiss and he had to find out. he needed to bring justice to his family. 

he was seventeen, burying his mother and father, and also an empty coffin of his sister’s, tears in his eyes, and hate scorching in his heart. he had nothing. everything was taken from him. he was fueled with hate, vengeance and the need to kill, and god did it fuel his ability.

he tirelessly works on honing his mutation.

one mishap ended it all in his stay in xavier’s though, angry and ashamed of seeing the disappointment in his professor’s eyes, he ran away. he told himself he could do better and he’d do so very well without anyone holding him back. 

he knows that some students watch him with fear in their eyes, know that he’s different, that he’s gone. he knows he’s scary and he lives off of that. but he knows there’s no use to let himself be known to the world, so he hid while he tries to make sense of his family’s death, inching closer to the truth, even though there are times of frustration when he ends up in nowhere.

jaewon lived in his own world. no care for what’s happening in the world until he reaches his goal. then suddenly a spark gets ignited inside of him when he’s found out of the brotherhood. his interest was piqued. jaewon believes he might find his answers there.

tlrd: jaewon’s angry, all the time, because well everything is taken from him. think of batman you know but he’s like on the way to his villain arc. he used to be such a good person, and that’s probably still in there, it’s just getting pushed back in the deepest corner of his being because hate, vengefulness, and bloodlust are the ones that is driving him to live. he aspires to be an omega level mutant and he’s reaching there, 25 years of existence working to be perfect with using toxikinesis. basically there are two paths jaewon can go, especially in the peak of this war, he can be persuaded by xavier’s institute to come back or the brotherhood recruits him. (it depends on how things go with plotting and stuff with him!) 

other facts about jaewon: he’s basically living off of the money his parents left for him and it’s a lot, and so he can earn money of his own he works as a tattoo artist, the only way he can think of doing something out of his art aside from doing commissions and trying to sell his paintings to some art curator. 

despite all his wrong doings, he still goes to church, he begs for forgiveness, and prays to get what he wants. he’s just very contradicting right now.

old professor from xavier: persuading jae to come back in xavier and help out and stuff and yanno make him realize there are still good things in life and like he can channel all this anger in a better medium and in a better way.

someone from the brotherhood: they are making him succumb to the darkness you know and his goals align with the brotherhood rn so it’s really perfect for them to get jaewon. 

a police detective: someone helping jaewon figure out the murder of his family, we can talk about their dynamics tbh, but i imagine that this person is looking out for jaewon too and they have like some kind of parental figure-son dynamic.

THE EIGHTH SENSE EP 2

I have to start with the scenes after the intro. In the first ep Jaewon sat with his back to the fish tank

this shot feels so oppressive. First, the focus is on the fish swimming in the tank, then it shifts to the therapist lady meanwhile Jaewon remains out of focus with his back to the viewer, blocked in by both sides. The lights in this shot are insane, it’s like the different sides of a coin.

Fast forward to the second ep

Now Jaewon faces the camera but he won’t look up and he is shown through the fish tank. It’s like he’s in the deep now, up until the moment he stands and leaves, kind of scaring the fishes that scatter for a moment. Once again, note the reflection of the lights.

Episode two is just as solid as the first one. Finally a drama where the extreme close ups are incorporated into the story for a reason and not just to be aesthetic (which ofc they still are) (I’m totally not side eyeing Nevertheless,) Could the shower scene be that insane without the extreme close ups? Nope.

There’s so much to unpack here. Like Jaewon being so soft around Jihuyn. I mean it only took them one (1) bus ride to the sea to act like bffs yet the moment Jihyun wakes up Jaewon has the nerve to pretend he doesn’t know what his name is and ask him again….boy you’re such an unbothered chill sunbae *cackles* Never have I witnessed such a tragedy going down over the assignment of rooms. The sheer disappointment of not sharing a room with the freshman you’ve only just (presumably) learned the name of... Jaewon really had to pause like that before (and after) reading Jihyun’s name, huh? pls chill

Can we take a hot second to appreciate that in Free Bird’s promo shots and posters (so in the past when Eunji and Jaewon were presumably together) Eunji is always seen wearing a blue wetsuit while Jaewon wears black. And when Jaewon takes Jihyun to the shop, he deliberately chooses two identical black wetsuits for them so they would have that couple look match. Aaand Eunji also wears a black wetsuit now (trying to match with Jaewon) but it’s one she chooses herself not like the one Jihyun wears that Jaewon chose for him.

I’m completely normal about the dressing scene just like I was completely normal about the phone strapping scene in The crossing. (Although I have to mention that Jaewon is still so soft around Jihyun it kinda hurts, all heart eyed and shit)

Jaewon taking care of Jihyun, telling him he must be cold so warm up like Jaewon himself wasn’t in the same sea and couldn’t possibly feel cold. At this point, he’s still taking care of Jihyun like a good sunbae but he’s doing all that multiplied by 10000. He’s running the extra mile every given time and I’m not sure he’s even aware of it. Sometimes it’s a conscious decision but other times it’s just his curiosity and attraction to Jihyun. Like when they play the ‘I like you’ drinking game, Jaewon stops clapping the second he utters Jihyun’s name. Unlike the others, he doesn’t stop because Jihyun won’t continue the line and the game stalls, he turns to Jihyun, waiting for his reaction and his system crashes. It crashes a lot around Jihyun.

Jihyun is such a complex little bean, not enough people talk about him. He says he’s afraid of a lot of things but that never stops him. When he talked with his boss about the places people coming to live in Seoul visit he said he only went to the Gangnam station area once. His boss lady asked 'Have you ever gone on subway line 2?' and Jihyun said he didn’t. They talked about the Han river parks and the next time Jihyun visited a park by taking subway line 2.

He joins the surf club even though his roommate and hometown friend can’t understand his reasons for joining (and, even though he can’t swim which made me go BOI the things you do for a hot dude) Although he acts like he wants to spend time away his roommate and messes up by visiting the Han river park an hour away from their university, he still calls his roommate, sends a text to his mum, keeping in touch with the familiar people in his life. He also does that on the beach like an anchor in times he’s in need not to feel scared and that’s so precious. He does things his own way, going through the process of trial and error, constantly trying not to be scared.

I’m still loving Yoonwon to bits. Besides Jaewon, she’s the only member of the club genuinely happy that kwiyomi has joined. She welcomes him and keeps being nice to him. Her singing at the bonfire healed my soul and I don’t even like singing in films but she’s magical.

Yo, the confrontation scene between Eunji and Jaewon? The fact that after Jaewon tells her he has zero feelings for her (neither good nor bad) a club member comes out and passes between them saying 'It’s cold, so cold'. That’s how you put down the groundwork for a scene. I think Eunji is so pissed because she knows something’s up. But then Jaewon says 'Let’s give each other that basic courtesy.' He means it both ways. He won’t tell others about why they broke up (from an outside perspective, it would be Eunji’s fault). In turn, Eunji should back off and not question the inner workings behind their breakup. But then she does, and Jaewon literally logs out of that conversation, and it is ridiculously in-your-face. He rather chooses to go to Jihyun than speak with his ex for another second. In that scene, before Eunji leaves, her looking at Jaewon looking at Jihyun is so powerful. Her eyes tell that she knows.

I’m having such a ride. Can’t wait for next week.

dissecting episode 1

(under the microscope. im mostly dissecting jaewon hes so interesting to study as a queer person myself, smiles)

ignoring the very first clip which shows waves and someone grabbing someone else... a bit confusing i dont have many thoughts about this.

ANYWAY ! we first see jaewon sitting on a couch in a office perhaps? with an aquarium (we see this again on the intro of episode 2 and if you see the trailer theres a close up of his face on the same place as well) and a women sits down in front of him and asks him what his worries are. now i cant make much sense of her behaviour cause she suddenly starts laughing? but id think shes some sort of counselor. now this could be for 2 reasons: one. he just left the military after finishing his mandatory time and it might be a thing they do? or two some other reason we dont know most likely. TRAUMA shocking i know.

then we have the restaurant scene. we see jaewon talking with his friends but his face changes when his friends keeps talking about how jaewon has a great life and connections and money and everything he wants and i dont want to state the obvious but... thats clearly not the case which is why we can see jaewon upset with the conversation even though he doesnt say anything about it and even forgives his friend... his relationship with his parents is most likely not the best and we can see that by the messages his mom sends and the way we can just see him in front of his gate but not getting inside.

then. their first real scene. jaewon asks jihyun for a cigarette he goes and grabs TWO which surprises jaewon a little bit and makes him happier probably because thats different not a lot of people would do that. they talk but its very casual like and somehow jaewon mentions a "동생" and gets real quiet, as if something had happened with that person. now, its translated as "younger brother/sister" because thats the only english word that it can translate to EVEN THOUGH (and im saying this as someone with very limited korean language knowledge) its not the most correct one because its just a word that people use to call someone whos younger than them (yes siblings count lol). so is he talking about a younger sibling or someone else? who knows.

when his friends grab him to go home he leaves but he isnt expecting for jihyun to just grab his hand and give him a lighter (it was such an intimate scene as well, very queer coded) and THATS what caught jaewons attention. because at first he was just making conversation, but that small moment changed how the path of their futures (hope im not getting too philosophical), and he even stopped and looked as jihyun left.

fast foward next day, jihyun sees jaewon and goes afterhim but loses him and finds the poster for free bird instead (soulmatism i say). and its at this point i realize i havent spoken much abour jihyun so ill start now. we know hes a small town boy, isnt used to such a big city like seoul and is even confused with all this new stuff hes seeing. thats how jaewon and him are different. to me, jihyuns fear is based on unfamiliarity and the unknown, hes still getting to know all these new things that hes never known before and thats why he later mentions that thats the reason he signed up for the surf club. he doesnt really know how to swim but he wants to try and face this new challenge onwards. jaewons fear is more rooted on past experiences and trauma is my guess. he knows who he is but hes scared or hes scared of the result if he tries something. i think its going to start to get better the more he gets to know jihyun and the more he gets comfortable with him.

the cafeteria. jihyuns eating alone and jaewon is suddenly there and thanking him for the other day (he means it. that second cigarette probably was everything to him at that time) and starts to get a bit bold with him, and asking him why he didnt call and at this point there are so many jihyun reactions where you can just tell how this type of relationship is new to him but also how he wants to explore it and find out where it takes him.

we can see that when he meets jaewon again outside the restaurant and says "if we're going to be friends we need to know each others names" and jaewons truly gets a bit paralysed? confused? about it, he wasnt expecting jihyung to say something like that. tells him his name and leaves.

going a bit back, jaewon is at the same restaurant again. why? because he remembered that it was the restaurant jihyuns worked at and he convinced his friends to go inside with some excuse only to look for jihyun but... he wasnt there. things start to go downhill when his friends mention his ex who he wants to have nothing to do with and just wants to forget and one of them even invites her over! some friend he is... jaewon gets reasonably upset (ill talk about what i think happened with the break up on the ep2 essay bare with me), leaves and jihyun goes after him. in this scene i dont think jaewon is upset with him but it was a mixture of a lot of things, disappointment from not seeing jihyun when he was the reason he went to the restaurant in the first place, anger at his supposed friend inviting his ex who he doesnt like and thats why he says "i didnt see you earlier" with this really empty sort of expression.

and lastly, the very last scene. he sits with jihyun for two reasons: be away from his ex but also because he genuinely wants to continue whatever this relationship with jihyun is. it makes him happy and its different and GOOD something that he doesnt have a lot going around his life...

yea... thats it. my thoughts are all scattered but yea lets talk about it if u want i have so much to say still and i want to hear what everyone else is thinking and i also want to mention how much i love this already it was hook line sinker the first episode it. it just feels so raw and perfect and so queer coded to which is why i want to kind of gatekeep it from people who are just watching bc its u know... a bl (will i be persecuted like the witches used to by saying this... hm)

you suddenly woke up after a loud crash. you checked the time, 10:15 pm, and went out of your room to check what happened.

“i’m pregnant,” you tell him when he greets you at the door. he looks at you, wide-eyed, a smile creeping in his face. “you’re not joking?” you shake your head, and he lifts you up and hugs you. you sleep that night with jaehyun chanting ‘i love you’ to you repeatedly.

“yeah, i love you too,” you faintly hear jaehyun say as you go down the stairs. you were about to cry— you were going to cry. “jae, what the fuck! who was that?” you scream, trying to stop your tears from falling. “y/n, what? quiet down, jaewon might wake up.” he says as he lets his phone fall to his feet, startled by your voice. “who was that?” you say quietly, realizing that your child might hear you, now letting your tears fall to your cheeks. “my mom. it was my mom, y/n,” he says, and you just stare at him— not knowing what to do, what to believe. him or your thoughts. he’s saying i love you to another woman. “check my phone then,” he says, handing his phone. you should just trust him. trust him. for fuck’s sake, just trust him. you grab his phone, and just like he said, it was his mom. you check every app he has, and there are no signs of another woman. stupid girl. “i’m doing my best, y/n. i don’t know what to do to gain your full trust after all these years.” he says, so gently, that it makes you cry even more. “i know jae, i’m sorry. i’m just scared,” you tell him. “you need to trust me babe,” he says as he pulls you closer to him, hugging you tightly. “i’m scared you’ll find someone else, and replace us,” you whisper in his chest. “babe, i’m not him. i’m not leaving you and jaewon.”

“y/n, your father has been waiting for you,” your mom says, giving you small smile. you will never understand how fast your mom forgave him. “it will be alright, come on,” jaehyun reassures you, as he carries jaewon in his arms. you enter the room, and see your father laying on the bed— weak and fragile.

you feel your eyes watering as you sat down beside him. jaehyun looks at you, and you gave him a sign to leave you two alone for a while. “you sure?” he asks, rubbing your back. you nod, and looked at your son. “go buy some candy with your father, yeah?” jaewon smiles, and jaehyun quickly gives you a peck on your cheek.

you looked at your father, and when you see him give you a faint smile, you quickly looked away. “hi y/n. how are you?” he asks. “what a beautiful family you have,” he comments, and you try your best not to scoff at him. be kind, you remind yourself. “how are you feeling?” “i’m good. i’m glad you came, i have been waiting for you.” it was silent for a while. you couldn’t find the courage to talk to him. “i miss you so much. i love you, you know that right?”

this was your father. the man who you grew up with treating you like a princess. the man you had so much good memories with. the person who you first told everything to. you didn’t even go to your mom first— it has always been him, your dad. the person who would do anything for you. the man you first loved. who would have thought he would also be the first to break your heart.

“Hello, I’m Pulse’s Daesung,” Daesung introduced himself. 

“And I’m Kim Brooklyn,” Brooklyn waved to the camera. 

“And we are doing truth or drink for Buzzfeed.”

“Let’s go,” Brooklyn smiled.

“Ok, so the way the game goes is we take turns asking each other questions and if we don’t want to answer truthfully, we take a drink,” Brooklyn explained. 

“And we have a wide array of drinks here so let’s do this,” Daesung said as he picked up a card. “Do you hate my job?”

“I don’t hate your job, I just don’t like what comes along with it at times,” she replied honestly. “It’s hard to have a typical family structure with him always working.”

“She’s not wrong,” he shrugged.

“What were your true thoughts when you found out that I was pregnant?” she read from the card and Daesung instantly reached out and grabbed the bottle of soju, opening it up and pouring it into a shot glass. “Yeah, you better keep that shit to yourself.”

“I’d like to keep my relationship in tact,” he chuckled after taking the shot. “Alright, if you weren’t in a relationship with me, which member of Pulse would you want to have sex with?”

“Bruh,” Brooklyn laughed, grabbing the soju bottle and taking a drink herself. “I am not about to set myself up for that one. Heartbeats talk enough shit about me as is.”

“I can probably guess though,” Daesung said. “Jaewon?”

“Jaewon’s like my best friend.”

“Exactly, you already love him.”

nam jaewon, 20, born in seoul to JANG JURA & NAM JISEOK

literally the definition of the perfectly family for awhile; his parents were high school sweethearts and led pretty normal lives. they had normal, average paying jobs so jaewon had mostly everything he wanted within reason. 

( TW ILLNESS & DEATH ) his grandfather grew ill, but didn’t really have anyone to take care of him back in the states. so jaewon’s father decided to take his family to california where he could keep a close eye on his father as his conditioned worsened. however, jaewon’s mother decided to stay in seoul and work on her career despite his father’s pleas. jaewon and his father moved to LOS ANGELES in 2008, and his grandfather died in the summer of 2012. needless to say, love was not powerful enough to overcome the distance between his parents. while jaewon, who adopted the name JAE during his time in america bc it was annoying how everyone failed to correctly pronounce his name, and his father visited during every break - the relationship between the couple was strained. his father used the money he earned doing construction in the area on jae, but sent most of it back to sk to his wife. he always saw his dad put forth the effort to make the relationship work, but wasn’t convinced he saw the same energy from his mother.

( TW SUBSTANCE ABUSE, MENTIONS OF ABUSE ) his mother admitted to an affair over the phone, deciding she wanted to end the marriage even when his father expressed the desire for them to work it out. they divorced in 2014 & his father barely put the bottle down since. the man was rarely aggressive with jae, only when he was really deep in self-pity. but jae never showed any resented for his father, rather for his mother whom he felt had abandoned their family for a new one.

( TW CONT., DEATH ) drunk driving is what took his father from him at the end of his third year of high school ( early 2017 ), and jae 100% blamed his mother. forced to uproot his life and pack his things back to seoul, he lived with his mother and her new husband’s family in GANGNAM. ( END TW )

so with all this new money his mother has so conveniently married into, jae is enrolled in a private school for his last year of high school and begins grooming to take over his step-father’s business. they make a bunch of the medical machinery/equipment for big hospitals around the world and he doesn’t trust his daughters to take over so yay :)

personality wise he’s generally pretty easy to hang around. he’s not really short tempered and rarely serious, so he’s literally acting stupid 97% of the time. 

he’s just naturally smart??? so he doesn’t really study??? and people are confused because he acts like he doesn’t give a fuck about school ( but he really cares a lot about his grades )

he had plans to go to ucla after high school and wanted to join a frat with all of his friends back in the states BUT THAT DIDN’T REALLY HAPPEN LMAO so that’s really why he joined cinth. that and the partying ofc

he acts like he’s some sort of sex god around the guys but really he’s painfully inexperienced. he’s literally had sex approximately one (1) time at a party when he was heavily intoxicated during his last year of high school and it was so Bad. he may or may not have puked afterwards.  

but if you asked him, he’s at least already sex 4 times that week. and it’s only tuesday ;)

picked up photography that stems from his mother’s love bc she would send him pretty pictures she took all the time while he was living in the states. and business admin. is pretty boring most of the time so he picked up photography as a minor bc fuck it

BACKGROUND.

born in la, california !! will always be a cali baby at heart, both his parents are originally from korea but moved there because they wanted to start a family in america !

he has two younger siblings - bora, who’s 12, and jandi, who’s 25 ! such an older brother, he teases / loves them to death and will fly to cali just to fight whoever hurts them !

original name is eunkwang elijah kang, but around middle school he changed it because a.) people always asked him about it or couldn’t pronounce it and b.) he didn’t think it fit him

the only people who still call him that are his parents when they’re speaking korean and his grandparents / aunts in korea. he introduces himself as elijah or eli nowadays, though !

but he prefers eli somewhat because elijah makes him feel like he’s getting in trouble ?? lmao !

his mom tried to get him into child acting because acting was always something she wanted to do, but it didn’t go very far for him

his father hated the idea of him going into the entertainment industry because he didn’t feel like it was a stable career, and thought that as the oldest of the family he should be financially well off

consequently, him and his dad’s relationship has become a little difficult now, he loves him a lot but is frustrated his dad doesn’t seem to be happy for him pursuing his dreams

even so, he started getting into singing because his mom had him join the church choir she lead ! he pretended he hated it but he loved getting all the old people to smile on that little stage

but he really got into performing when he tried to impress a girl with a talent show & won second place by doing a really cringy song & dance performance with friends !

feel free to read more in his bio, but long story short he auditioned as a joke and had the surprise of the century when he made it past auditions AND callbacks !

the idea of being in the “kpop” industy still seems so weird to gim, esp bc it’s never something he saw himself doing ?? he’s a r&b type of guy so it was really weird for him to think about at first

they decided to go with this “flirty bad boy image” for him which isn’t too out of character tbh ?? but they also thought he had the look of a rapper so started training him to be one ! so now it’s one of his positions, and though he finds it really fun he’s embarrassed to call himself one because he doesn’t feel like he has the skills to rap. 

he has a v unique voice, similar to wonpil’s, but since he had no proper training prior to joining the company they had to work with him a lot bc he didn’t really know how to use it !

was a little apprehensive at the whole “boy band” thing at first, until he realized just how much he loved it ?? and then became very invested and has been working hard ever since !he has high hopes for the group and thinks that, as long as they work hard, they can gain a stable following

also was like thank god bc he can’t dance for shit so that helped him otu a l o t !!

PERSONALITY.

like i said before, his personality’s not too different from his brand the company is trying to market him as once they debut ! so “flirty bad boy” pretty much sums it up lmao. he’s got the whole rebellious streak going on, but i wouldn’t call him bad for real because he’s still got a good heart, he’s just dumb and gets into equally dumb scenarios. i think that this pretty much sums it up:

haha !! anyways he is definitely a flirt, even when he doesn’t mean to be ! but he usually does, and isn’t afraid at all at expressing his attraction to others ! ( on that note - he’s pansexual fyi ! ) but his downfall is that he’s terrible with commitment, he’s just not in the mood to settle down and doesn’t know how but i’m sure he’s got a long list of romantic connections ! 

he’s got a bit of a potty mouth, he doesn’t really have a filter ( unless he’s somewhere for work ofc ) but even then he’s had a few embarrassing slip-ups. def got a few wrist slaps for it bc apparently he can’t shut up !! but please lmk if you don’t want him to curse in our threads bc even though it won’t be that bad in threads, i don’t want anyone to feel uncomfy !

very spontaneous, definitely the type to call you up at 3am on a sunday asking to go out some random place with him, he just loves adventure ! some find it endearing while others find it chaotic, he’s really a hit or miss in terms of this !

a charmer, he knows how to say things that people here....especially when trying to get himself out of a sticky situation ! if he had a superpower it’d be sweet talking people, he’s got a way with words and that’s ultimately how he’s become as successful as he has ! once 4am debuts he’ll definitely give fans lots of fanservice and is the type to “marry” them at fansigns and such.

on that note he’s very deceptive and isn’t pathological liar, but can do it v casually if he thinks it’ll make his situation any better ?? not a good thing but yk just how it is !

bc of these he’s quite the life of the party, and actually gravitates toward quieter people because he wants them to have fun & he’s def the first to try to break the awkward tension !

super carefree - the world could be crumbling, and this man will make a joke about it ! it can be good in stressful situations due to his ability to keep a leveled head, but at the same time it causes him to make poor decisions because he’s less concerned about the end results.

a downside is that he can have a bit of a temper, and if he feels like someone’s competing with him or trying to prove him wrong he gets pretty defensive. also if someone breaks his trust this man holds the biggest grudge i stg

tw: alcohol ! he loves to drink, it’s a habit he started back in america but moved over here ! he can’t do it quite as often bc of company rules he has to maneuver, but if you ask him to go out for some drinks, he’ll never say no.

just...silly lmao !! will literally come into his member’s rooms in the middle of the night just to do a stupid dance then walk out & leave.

very loyal & protective over those he loves !! he’s an older brother, so that’s rooted deep in him and he cares deeply about those he gets close too !

not a leader in any way ( thank god atlas saw that ), but he has his own way of checking up on people ! he’s not the talk-about-your-feelings type per se, but if he sees someone’s down he’ll go out his way to make them laugh or do something to make them feel better

Hello all! Most of you probably already know me and Samsoo, because I used to be apart of Famed for quite a while. I took a step away from the group for a while, but I couldn’t stay away for too long lol so here’s Samsoo 2.0! There are a few changes from the old Soo, but he’s still the same at his core. I don’t have any written plots, but I do have some plot ideas and connections at the end of this intro post, so give this a like if you’d like to plot! 

He’s the third born of four children. He has two older brothers and a younger sister (if you’re looking to bring in a new muse and want a sibling, hmu) 

His parents never really gave him as much attention as his other siblings because he’s never really fit in with his family. He was always quiet and awkward, didn’t really speak much. His parents loved to compare him to his older brothers and always asked him why he couldn’t be more like them. 

He’s really close to his little sister, way more than he is with his older brothers. 

He was bullied a lot while he was in school, because he was smaller than everyone else and because he was so quiet. He was an easy target for people because they knew he’d never complain or report them to teachers. The only time he had a decent conversation with people was when they were being “nice” so he would do their homework or other school assignments. 

He started getting interested in music when he was nine years old. It was a great way for him to express himself, something that was hard for him to do in any other way. 

He was twelve years old when his parents sent him and his older brothers away to boarding schools in the states. That was when he really started to get invested in music and decided that was what he wanted to do for life. He stayed there for four years, hit a growth spurt, and decided to come back home to start pursuing his dream. 

His parents weren’t really receptive to him auditioning for companies, but he was surprisingly firm about his decision and they knew that they wouldn’t be able to stop him, so they just decided to let him do as he pleased. 

In 2010, he joined Dimensions. It was really difficult for him at first because he was still a quiet and shy guy, but he knew that in order to make it in the industry, you have to stand out and ooze confidence, so he started working on building up his confidence. 

He trained for two years, and then Alien’s debut came about. He thought he would be apart of that lineup, but he was skipped over. Of course he was a little frustrated about it, but he tried not to let it get to him. There were people who had been there longer than him, so of course he wasn’t guaranteed a spot. 

Another two years passed and Mars debuted. The irritation he felt when he didn’t make the lineup morphed from irritation into anger. He was getting frustrated being kept in Dimensions’ basement, and he was so close to just leaving but he was worried if he left, he would have to start from the ground up again as a trainee in another company, so he decided to stick it out a little while longer.

Eventually, he was told that he would be debuting in Unity as one of the main vocalists. 

He’s actually really happy now? He’s glad that Unity’s getting a lot more attention and recognition, and he’s looking forward to getting his own solo career started one day soon. 

PLOTS/CONNECTIONS

Your muse is from Seoul and they grew up with Samsoo in the same neighborhood/was one of his only friends in elementary school before he left for boarding school

I would love to have some exes plots going on. Before Soo settled down with Jaewon, he was in a few relationships and had quite a few fwbs, so exes and ex-fwbs are wanted!

Soo’s a responsible and hardworking guy, but this muse isn’t really all that responsible. They’re the little devil on his shoulder that gets him to do things he usually wouldn’t (clubbing, drinking, e.t.c.)

The same connection as above, but Soo’s the angel on their shoulder and gets them to do positive things.

Soo’s used to taking on everyone else’s problems and issues but he doesn’t really vent or unload his problems on anyone else. This muse lets him use their shoulder to cry on - literally and figuratively.

Soo used to be romantically involved with one of your muse’s relatives or siblings and they ended up breaking up, now your muse doesn’t like him.

Your muse and Samsoo used to be really close friends, but then something happened (some sort of argument maybe?) and now the two of them can’t be in the same room with one another because it’s so awkward and tense.
