"Judd's art, once thought to be too severe to be beautiful, can now be seen to offer pleasures, visual and conceptual, that any audience with open eyes can relate too..." —Holland Cotter @nytimes⠀ ⠀ "Judd’s minimalism is the ubiquitous dark design energy of everyday modern life. Always there, even if you never consciously recognize it." — @jerrysaltz @vulture⠀ ⠀ "There couldn’t be a better time to revisit an artist who doggedly confronted form, presence, and politics, both on the page and in ‘real space." — @lol_prosciutto @artforum⠀ ⠀ Though the exhibition is currently on hiatus, you can still order the stellar catalog from your local independent bookstore. Many are still delivering! ⠀ You can also order from local independents via @bookshop_org or #indiebound⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or order directly from artbook.com⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ @themuseumofmodernart ⠀⠀#judd #donaldjudd #minimalism #sculpture⠀ @juddfoundation @avante.art⠀⠀⠀ @ann.temkin @ecooke310 @tamarimar @jamesmeyerart @yasmil.raymond https://www.instagram.com/p/B-hkqETJbaX/?igshid=1s0p1e4j3doc3

I am making large snow globes to go in front of the light wall . they will be in 2 sizes 6″ and 12″ the 12″ take 3 gallons of water solution. I have to stabilize the figure so it wont interact with the water and so you can shake it and it wont fall off the stand. I found both of these figures int he woods at different times at first it was a great mystery, and as I cleaned them up I realized what they are

where we lived, each town with in the unit had a name, based on who lived there or what view they had ,I lived in section 8 named for the low income housing in inner cities, we had no windows, no privacy, next to the gambling tables, and the lights never went off, also during a shake down we were the first bunk hit.

The next best thing to seeing 'Judd' at MoMA is reading 'Judd' from MoMA⠀ "Untitled" (1963) is reproduced from 'Judd,' published to accompany the first major retrospective of the artist's work in thirty years, on temporary hiatus now at MoMA. For anyone who can't wait for the show to reopen—as well as anyone who has or ever will see it—this pitch-perfect catalogue is a superb synthesis of the work and thinking of the "last great revolutionary of modern art," in the words of 'The New Yorker's' Peter Schjeldahl. Featuring essays by Ann Temkin, Erica Cooke, Tamar Margalit, Christine Mehring, James Meyer, Annie Ochmanek, Yasmil Raymond and Jeffrey Weiss, alongside 350 color images, this will be the most important and comprehensive book on Judd's work for decades to come.⠀ #judd #donaldjudd #moma⠀ @themuseumofmodernart ⠀ @juddfoundation @avante.art⠀ @ann.temkin @ecooke310 @tamarimar @jamesmeyerart @yasmil.raymond https://www.instagram.com/p/B-FMpfPp5Vk/?igshid=9hve0ng79kd5
