‘Jana Sena alliance will win Andhra polls’: Pawan Kalyan says he will take oath as Chief Minister
“I am a more mature politician than the others in the state and JSP will win the elections,” Pawan Kalyan said.
Tumblr media
Andhra Pradesh News: Actor turned politician and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday expressed confidence that he would take oath as the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, adding that his party, in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Left parties, would form the government in the state, after the upcoming elections.
Pawan was speaking after he filed his nomination for the Gajuwaka Legislative Assembly in Visakhapatnam district. Scores of fans flocked to the municipal office in Gajuwaka town ahead of his visit, to catch a glimpse of the actor-politician.
“We are going to form government and your favourite Pawan Kalyan will take oath as the Chief Minister. We have fielded winning horses in the election race. By fielding former CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana, YSRCP leaders will not come for campaigning as they will shiver while facing him. In some places, we have fielded mass leaders. Our candidates are fielded based on who the opponents fielded,” he was quoted as saying.
“I am a more mature politician than the others in the state and JSP will win the elections,” he added.Earlier this week, Pawan announced that in the upcoming Assembly elections, he would contest for two seats from… continue reading full story

BJP, Jana Sena join hands, announce alliance in Andhra Pradesh - india news
Tumblr media
After extensive talks that stretched up to the level of the top leaderships of both parties, the BJP and Jana Sena on Thursday formally announced their alliance, seeking to emerge as the “third alternative” in Andhra Pradesh.Jana Sena chief and Telugu film actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan and Andhra Pradesh BJP president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana announced the alliance at a meeting in Vijayawada and said it would work to end “casteist, dynastic and corrupt” regimes.The alliance would certainly clinch power in the state in 2024, they asserted.“From the upcoming elections to the local bodies, our alliance will fight together till the 2024 general elections for the betterment of the state. Our alliance is intended to protect the state,” they said.BJP state in-charge Sunil Deodhar stressed that there was no question of any realignment with the TDP.Pawan Kalyan had on Monday met BJP working president J P Nadda in New Delhi. Both the Jana Sena and the BJP have been reduced to the margins in Andhra Pradesh.In December, Pawan had hinted at forging an alliance with the BJP soon. He had told reporters at Tirupati then that he had never distanced himself from the BJP but was very much associated with it. “Political equations keep changing with time in the interests of the people. One should look at the change only in spirit of the Constitution,” Pawan had said.The actor, who is the youngest brother of popular film star and former Union minister K Chiranjeevi, launched the Jana Sena Party before 2014 general elections and supported the BJP-Telugu Desam Party combine in Andhra Pradesh, but did not contest the elections.In 2019, Pawan differed with the BJP and the TDP and contested the elections in alliance with the CPI, CPI (M) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). The alliance fared badly in the elections with the JSP winning just one seat in the 175-member assembly.Pawan himself failed to win either of the two seats he had contested – Bhimavaram in West Godavari and Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam. The party registered a meagre vote share of 6.78 per cent and lost deposits in as many as 120 assembly seats. In the Lok Sabha elections for 25 seats in the state, it drew a blank.The BJP could not win a single seat either in the assembly or the Lok Sabha. Read the full article

The original Bollywood film featured Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Amitabh Bachchan. Vakeel Saab will be Pawan Kalyanrsquo;s re-entry into films after his last film, Agnathavasi was released in 2018. Following this, the actor focussed on his political career as chief of the Jana Sena Party. However, his party was soundly defeated in recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Out of the 138 Assembly seats which they had contested, they lost almost all seats, including Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram from where Pawan Kalyan had contested. When former CBI director VV Laxminarayana quit the Jana Sena Party earlier this year, he accused Pawan Kalyan of inconsistency as the latter was pursuing his movie career again. The JSP president, however, stated that he was going back to acting as he had no other source of income. "I don't have any cement factories, power projects, mines or dairy factories. I am not a well-paid government employee either. All I know is cinema. There are many families that depend on me. For me, for my family, for the party, it is a must for me to make films," he said in January. Pink was remade in Tamil as Nerkonda Paarvai, with actor Ajith. nbsp;

via Today Bharat nbsp; nbsp; On February 16, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan released a press statement denying an alliance between YSR Congress headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy and the BJP. Though Pawan is not a member of either of these parties, he felt compelled to deny the speculation that started soon after CM Jagan met PM Modi on February 14. ldquo;The statements issued by YSRCP leaders have no truth. People should not misunderstand Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah by believing the YSRCPrsquo;s tricky words,rdquo; Pawan Kalyan said. This statement from the actor- politician came even before the BJPrsquo;s denial on the issue, Pawan Kalyan was surely in a hurry. Despite forming an alliance with the BJP, Pawan Kalyan is still in a vulnerable position as there are rumours of BJP and YSRCP having a tacit understanding. Insiders say Pawan Kalyan threatened to pull out of the alliance if BJP got into any tacit understanding with the YSRCP. For Pawan Kalyan, an alliance with the BJP is a necessity, but another person like Jagan entering the equation would shadow him completely. Jana Sena Party which made its electoral debut in 2019, is already facing an existential crisis, after the party faced a severe drubbing in Lok Sabha and assembly elections. The party which had contested from 138 constituencies could only win a single MLA seat from Razole, and Pawan Kalyan, the party chief who contested from two seats--Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka--suffered a humiliating defeat and lost from both the seats. A year after the elections, the party is facing a huge crisis as several, including Pawan Kalyanrsquo;s friend and political mentor Raju Ravitej and VV Laxminarayana, former CBI Joint Director, have already deserted the party. For his political survival, Pawan Kalyan formed an alliance with the BJP earlier in January for the 2024 elections. Pawan said that the alliance was made to ldquo;protect the interests of the state and its peoplerdquo; and both the parties have since been fighting against the Jagan-led governmentrsquo;s decision to shift the capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam. Although Pawan Kalyan had categorically stated that his party did not merge with the BJP and they just have an alliance, his actions contradict his political position. Immediately, after forming alliance, unlike other BJP allies like Shiromani Akali Dal, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party among the few parties who voiced out against National Register of Citizens and questioned the exclusion of Muslims from Citizenship Amendment Act, Pawan Kalyan defended the BJP and said that Prime Minister was implemented what Gandhiji had envisioned. Supporting the CAA, he said that the Indian Muslims would not lose citizenship as claimed by the opposition parties. Speaking about this, political analyst, Palwai Raghavendra said, ldquo;The support to CAA while other allies are distancing from it, is desperation. After the defeat Pawan Kalyan has realized his capability, that they cannot survive without the support of the BJP.rdquo; Notwithstanding the clarification, BJP and the YSRCP sharing a warm relationship (YSRCP supporting Citizenship Amendment Bill and BJP-led Centre not intervening in the capital controversy) has put Pawan Kalyan in an awkward position. ldquo;Within a fortnight of the alliance Pawan Kalyan was put in an embarrassing situation,rdquo; said political analyst Telakapalli Ravi. While the political rout of JSP in the elections should have prompted the party to build second leadership to strengthen the party as suggested by political experts, the party has taken no steps in that direction. The decision of Pawan Kalyan to make a comeback in films adds to this perception. ldquo;The future of JSP is very bleak. It is facing its worst crisis,rdquo; says Raghavendra. Ravi, however, differs. ldquo;Pawan Kalyan himself said that his party is for the long haul and it may take 25 years for JSP to fully emerge as a regional party.rdquo; Ravi although agrees that Pawan Kalyan is desperate to have the BJP's alliance. ldquo;Even when Pawan Kalyan met Kurnool rape victimrsquo;s mother, he was speaking about CAA. This points out that maybe the BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana had asked him to speak about CAA, NRC and NPR at every possible gathering. This could have been the pre-condition to have the alliance,rdquo; he said. nbsp;

via Today Bharat nbsp; nbsp; Actor-politician and Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday night responded to the resignation of former CBI Joint Director V V Lakshminarayana. Lakshminarayana had probed many high-profile cases, including the disproportionate assets case against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a JSP candidate from Visakhapatnam. In his resignation letter, Lakshminarayana wrote that he was quitting the party due to Pawan Kalyan's 'inconsistency' on his commitment to politics over his film career. In his response, Pawan said, "We respect VV Lakshminarayana's feelings and accept his resignation." In what seemed to be a reference to both Jagan and Lakshminarayana, he further added, "I don't have any cement factories, power projects, mines or dairy factories. I am not a well paid government employee either. All I know is cinema. There are many families that depend on me. For me, for my family, for the party, it is a must for me to make films." "It would have been nice if Lakshminarayana had known all this in his resignation. For me personally, the respect towards Laxminarayana will always be the same. Best wishes to him," Pawan Kalyan added. Lakshminarayana took voluntary retirement from the Indian Police Service (IPS) in April 2018, after which he announced his intention to enter politics. Although the BJP and the TDP had attempted to court him, he joined hands with Pawan Kalyan in March 2019. The JSP had contested the Andhra Pradesh elections last year, but had faced a humiliating defeat. Only one MLA from their party won the polls while Pawan Kalyan himself, who had contested from two seats ndash; Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka ndash; lost both elections. Recently, it was announced that Pawan Kalyan was shooting his next film, a Telugu remake of the Hindi film Pink, and is rumoured to have signed another film. The JSP chief had also joined hands with the BJP recently.

via Today Bharat nbsp; Pawan held the march on Sunday in support of construction workers in the state, who have complained of unemployment due to an alleged sand shortage. nbsp; The YSRCP lashed out at Pawan Kalyanrsquo;s long march held at Visakhapatnam on Sunday, in support of construction workers in the state, who have complained of unemployment due to an alleged sand shortage in Andhra Pradesh. Pointing out that TDP leaders had participated in the meeting, YSRCP MLA Gudivada Amarnath said that Pawan Kalyan was showing 'fake love' for the construction workers. Talking about the long march, Amarnath said, "Does he (Pawan Kalyan) know what a long march is? He just walked around 2 km and that is not a long march." He also questioned Pawan Kalyan's decision of carrying out the protest in Visakhapatnam. "Sand scarcity in the state is due to the natural disaster of flooding," the MLA said, adding, "If you could have performed the long march on the banks of river Krishna and Godavari, people would have seen the overflowing rivers and would have asked you how sand can be extracted in this situation," Amarnath added. The YSRCP also took a jibe at Pawan's loss in the recent election. Pawan Kalyan had contested from the Gajuwaka Assembly seat in Visakhapatnam and Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, but had lost both the polls. "People have witnessed the welfare schemes of the YSRCP in the last four months. People are not ready to hear whatever Pawan Kalyan talks, which is the reason they have not given a mandate to him, in the recent elections," Amarnath said. "If you (Pawan Kalyan) could have performed this long march in Gajuwaka, at least you could have known why the public has not voted for you," he added. The YSRCP also alleged that the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the TDP were working hand in hand. "Pawan Kalyan speaks what Nararsquo;s family has scripted," the YSRCP MLA said and suggested that the actor-politician should not do such activities for the sake of political benefit.
