“We will fulfill our commitment to 'one-nation-one-election' across the country in the next five years” Rajnath Singh
On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Sigh made a big declaration and said that if the NDA government gets elected, it will go forward with the "one-nation-one-election" policy and implement it within the next 5 years.
Addressing a rally in Jammalamadugu assembly constituency in Kadapa district Singh said, "Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections are being held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh. We will fulfill our commitment to 'one-nation-one-election' across the country by the end of the next five years. This will save a lot of time and energy."
Moving forward, Singh accused the YSRCP government of the rising debt rate of the state and called them out for their ‘corrupt practices’. He said that it is because of the government that the debt ratio of the government has skyrocketed to Rs 13.5 lakh crore.
"BJP entered into a pact with TDP and Jana Sena in AP to end the corrupt rule of the Jagan Mohan Reddy govt," he said. "People of the state are fed up with the deteriorating law and order situation in the state," he added, urging people to pledge support to all the NDA candidates in the poll fray.
Rajnath Singh is known for giving bold interviews. Lately, in one of his interviews, he talked about PoK and said that India won't have to capture PoK by force but it will come to India itself only. "I think India will not have to do anything. The way the ground situation has changed in Jammu and Kashmir, the way the region is witnessing economic progress, and the way peace has returned there, I think demands will emerge from people of PoK that they should merge with India," he said.
With his new claims to win over the elections and implement the ‘one nation one election policy,’ there is a lot about BJP to consider.

‘Jana Sena alliance will win Andhra polls’: Pawan Kalyan says he will take oath as Chief Minister
“I am a more mature politician than the others in the state and JSP will win the elections,” Pawan Kalyan said.
Tumblr media
Andhra Pradesh News: Actor turned politician and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday expressed confidence that he would take oath as the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, adding that his party, in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Left parties, would form the government in the state, after the upcoming elections.
Pawan was speaking after he filed his nomination for the Gajuwaka Legislative Assembly in Visakhapatnam district. Scores of fans flocked to the municipal office in Gajuwaka town ahead of his visit, to catch a glimpse of the actor-politician.
“We are going to form government and your favourite Pawan Kalyan will take oath as the Chief Minister. We have fielded winning horses in the election race. By fielding former CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana, YSRCP leaders will not come for campaigning as they will shiver while facing him. In some places, we have fielded mass leaders. Our candidates are fielded based on who the opponents fielded,” he was quoted as saying.
“I am a more mature politician than the others in the state and JSP will win the elections,” he added.Earlier this week, Pawan announced that in the upcoming Assembly elections, he would contest for two seats from… continue reading full story

via Today Bharat nbsp; Some sections within the YSRCP express fears over the rise of the BJP with the TDPrsquo;s exit, which their leader Jagan may find difficult to contain. Chandrababu Naidursquo;s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is fast ceding ground to the ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh after the TDPrsquo;s humiliating defeat in last yearrsquo;s Parliament and state elections. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone into overdrive to accelerate the TDPrsquo;s exit from the opposition space by encouraging top guns in the Naidu camp to desert, in the run-up to the elections for urban and rural bodies. In the meantime, the BJP is sparing no efforts to fill the vacuum left by Naidursquo;s party. Whorsquo;s more dangerous, Naidu or BJP ndash; this is the question that is haunting the ruling partyrsquo;s think-tank. In the third round of defections Naidu suffered a serious setback. Main pillars of the party in Prakasam, Kurnool and Kadapa districts came crashing, shattering the confidence of the TDP rank and file. Before the general elections, Naidu saw the exit of his key lieutenants such as Avanthi Srinivas, Thota Narasimham and Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, all sitting MPs during that time. The general elections left the TDP with just 23 out of 175 Assembly seats and three out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state with close to 40% vote share. Soon, it lost four of its Rajya Sabha members ndash; YS Chowdary, TG Venkatesh, CM Ramesh and Garikapati Mohan Rao ndash; to the BJP. Ahead of the soon to be held local body elections, Naidursquo;s party is in for a fresh wave of defections, rattling the party at the grassroots level. The situation is so grave that the party is not in a position to field candidates for most posts in urban bodies, mandal and zilla parishads for want of spirited leaders. Abandoned by strong leaders, the TDPrsquo;s vulnerable situation is evident in the present elections in the faction-hit Prakasam, Kurnool and Kadapa districts. TDP failed to file nominations in more than 550 MPTCs (Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies). Blaming it on ldquo;arm-twistingrdquo; by the ruling party, Chandrababu met Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and called for a fresh election notification. nbsp; Jagan captures home turf In Kadapa, Jaganrsquo;s home district, the TDP is almost non-existent. AP Legislative Council former Deputy Chairman SV Satish Reddy, who waged a risky battle against Jaganrsquo;s family in Pulivendula from the TDP for over two decades, quit the party and embraced the YSRCP. Former minister P Ramasubba Reddy, whose family suffered heavily in feuds with the YSR faction for several years, also crossed over to Jaganrsquo;s party in pursuit of a safe shelter. The TDP failed to secure a single seat in Kadapa district in the last Assembly and Parliament elections. nbsp; In Kurnool district, the KE family headed by Krishnamurthy from the Backward Classes, Naidursquo;s contemporary in politics and former Deputy Chief Minister, is also looking for greener pastures. Krishnamurthyrsquo;s brother and former Minister Prabhakar resigned from the TDP on Thursday. Upset with the entry of their traditional rival Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy into the TDP, the KE brothers resorted to non-cooperation in elections in Dhone municipal town by not fielding candidates in any of the wards. The KE and Kotla families have been engaged in a turf war over Dhone and the former is peeved over Suryaprakash Reddy announcing a candidate for the municipal chairman post ldquo;unilaterallyrdquo;. Prabhakar is facing cases relating to mining and Syambabu, Krishnamurthyrsquo;s son, is the prime accused in the murder of YSRCP leader Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy. The KE family will have to be on good terms with Jagan to save their skin. Naidursquo;s community under poaching In Prakasam district, Karanam Balaram, sitting MLA representing Cheerala and militant leader from the Kammas next to former Assembly speaker late Kodela Sivaprasad in coastal Andhra, met the Chief Minister expressing his wish to join the YSRCP. Balaram is the second legislator from the Kamma community the TDP has been identified with, after Vallabhaneni Vamsi of Gannavaram, to cross over to the YSRCP. Balaram is a faction leader involved in several criminal cases, including murder cases. The rivalry between Naidu and Jagan seems to have crossed the boundaries of politics. Naidu tried to demonstrate his politics of poaching by taking in 23 of his MLAs and eating into his party, now it is Reddyrsquo;s turn to pay his rival back in the same coin. In the process of finishing his rival off, Jagan treated the BJP as lsquo;enemyrsquo;s enemy is a friendrsquo; and took its clandestine support in the general elections. But the BJP nurses its own ambition to grow on the ruins of Naidursquo;s party in Andhra Pradesh where it is non-existent. The saffron party stepped up its vitriol against Jaganrsquo;s government on the question of his Christian identity and his governmentrsquo;s alleged promotion of religious conversions in an apparent bid to consolidate the Hindu vote. On controversial decisions of the YSRCP government, such as distributive capitals, retendering for the Polavaram project and revision of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) his predecessor Naidu had inked with independent power producers, the BJP is at its best out-beating the TDP in targeting Jagan. As part of the endeavour to fill the opposition space the BJP has entered into an alliance with actor Pawan Kalyanrsquo;s Jana Sena Party to put up a joint fight in the local body elections. Fight between satraps: Blessing in disguise for BJP? While the rivalrsquo;s downfall obviously brings cheer to the YSRCP brass, some sections within the party express fears over the rise of the BJP with the TDPrsquo;s exit, which their leader Jagan may find difficult to contain. Citing the live cases in Telangana and West Bengal, a senior leader from the Amaravati region urges the YSRCP chief to be prudent in his mission to wipe out the TDP lock, stock and barrel by drawing a lesson from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. KCR identified relatively more potential threat from the BJP after it made substantial gains in the last Parliament elections, making inroads into his partyrsquo;s bastions in north Telangana. Accordingly, KCR softened his stand towards the Congress in a conscious bid to pre-empt the BJPrsquo;s attempts to occupy the Congressrsquo; opposition space, the leader recalled, wishing to remain anonymous.

Repeat of 1996 in 2019 a real possibility: Naidu on a ‘Third Front’ forming govt
Machilipatnam: TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Tuesday said there is a “real possibility” of the region witnessing a repeat of 1996 in 2019 exactly where regional functions will occur jointly right after the Lok Sabha polls to evolve a ‘Third Front’ and kind a authorities.
Naidu also stated Congress will continue to be as an “anchor party” and that the final decision on a key ministerial candidate will be taken dependent on the number of seats received by the Front companions.
The assessment by Naidu arrived notwithstanding the unsuccessful attempts by Congress and other opposition parties to form a pre-poll ‘mahagathbandhan’ or a grand alliance to existing a united front from the BJP.
H D Deve Gowda, the present-day JD(S) supremo, became the key minister of a United Entrance(UF) authorities heading a group of regional functions backed by the Still left and Congress from outside immediately after the 1996 Lok Sabha polls threw a fractured verdict in which the BJP experienced emerged as the solitary premier party. Naidu was the convener of the Front then.
“A repeat of 1996 in 2019 is a real likelihood and this simply cannot be dominated out,” Naidu informed PTI in an interview.
Naidu also stated it is not likely the BJP will cross the 200 mark because of to what he called “growing adverse wave” towards the Modi federal government.
Naidu, who is searching for a 2nd time period as the main minister of the residual condition of Andhra Pradesh, said his Telugu Desam Get together (TDP) was self-confident of sweeping the two the assembly and Lok Sabha elections and defeat the YSR Congress Social gathering (YSRCP). Campaigning for the polls finished Tuesday.
Polling will be held in solitary period on April 11 in 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies that has an voters of 3.93 crore.
“Now just about every regional social gathering is slowly distancing from the BJP. That by itself is a downside for Primary Minister Narendra Modi. An calendar year again, can anyone dare to oppose Modi. The Modi wave has occur down substantially and the detrimental wave for him has began,” Naidu reported.
Requested if the saffron celebration will be capable to cross 200 seats, he stated, “It is challenging simply because there is sizeable negativity towards the BJP”.
On just one hand, the BJP has unsuccessful to produce on its guarantees produced in the 2014 poll manifesto, whilst on the other it has ruined the democratic material of India by threatening the CBI and other impartial companies, he additional.
Naidu, who broke absent from an alliance with the BJP at the Centre early 2018 about the demand from customers for unique position for Andhra Pradesh, said a probable solid overall performance of regional get-togethers could go in opposition to the BJP if the nearby functions unite with each other just after the polls.
Asked if there could be the repeat of 1996 in 2019, he reported, “Everything is feasible. We really should not speculate factors correct now. I do not want to vitiate the atmosphere ideal now. Publish elections, we will discuss.”
“It will all count on numbers and article-poll consensus. There is a democratic compulsion and before there was a secular and political compulsion. Now, there is political compulsion for all get-togethers to appear with each other towards the BJP.”
On Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and YSRCP, each of whom are perceived to be ‘B team’ of BJP, heading delicate on Congress, Naidu explained they are performing “drama” to keep their minority votes.
“Of system, it is all drama. All minorities have made the decision to vote against BJP. Now, they are in predicament and as a result talking all these items,” he claimed, adding they are “playing dirty online games.”
Requested if TRS chief and Telangana Main Minister K Chandrashekar Rao could possibly sign up for any Congress-led alliance article poll, Naidu mentioned, “Let them occur. On what situation they want to appear and underneath what instances they will sign up for I are not able to say. Before, he mentioned there will be a federal entrance(of non-Congress, non-BJP get-togethers) and afterwards grew to become a Modi friend. He is a beneficiary from BJP and we are suffering.”
On electoral potential clients for the TDP in the assembly polls, Naidu claimed there is a really positive sentiment in favour of his social gathering and there is no dilemma for profitable, but it is a problem of winning the constituencies with a significant greater part.
“We are aiming 150-as well as and permit us hope for the very best,” Naidu said, adding that the most important battle is from the YSRCP which, he alleged, is currently being funded by K Chandrashekar Rao, also known as KCR.
“YSRCP is contesting by yourself but has a hidden pact with BJP. Now, KCR is supporting him. Why KCR is funding Jagan’s election? Is it to seize Andhra Pradesh? We really don’t want your (KCR) rule here. Who are you?” he said.
In 2014, the TDP and the BJP had fought alongside one another in Andhra Pradesh. This time, the TDP is contesting elections by yourself to consider on the YSRCP. The Congress is on the sidelines when the BJP is preventing a shedding struggle. Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Occasion, which has tied up with Still left events and the BSP, is nonetheless to be tested as a formidable challenger.
In 2014, Naidu in alliance with the BJP scraped through with 106 of the 175 Assembly seats. For the 25 Lok Sabha seats, the TDP gained 16 and BJP 2. The YSRCP had 68 seats and 7 MPs.

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan gives 21 Assembly and 3 Lok Sabha seats to BSP
BSP will contest from Tirupati, Bapatla and Chittoor Lok Sabha constituencies.
Tumblr media
Andhra Pradesh News: Two days after announcing their alliance, Jana Sena Party (JSP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have announced the seat-sharing between the two parties in Vijayawada. After holding talks with the BSP representative and Rajya Sabha MP, Veer, on Sunday, it was agreed that BSP would be given 21 Assembly seats and three Lok Sabha seats.
While the Assembly constituencies, where the BSP would be contesting, was not announced, Pawan disclosed that they have given them Tirupati, Chittoor and Bapatla Parliament constituencies.
JSP chief Pawan Kalyan said that the discussion of seat-sharing between CPI and CPI (M) is yet to take place, following which he will decide how many Assembly and Lok Sabha seats his party will contest.
The JSP has already released their first list of candidates who will be contesting in 32 Assembly seats and two Parliament seats.
Out of 32 MLA candidates, four notable candidates found a place in the list. Former Congress leader and united Andhra’s former Speaker Nadendla Manohar, who joined the party less than a year ago, has been given the Tenali ticket, while Thota Chandrashekar, a former IAS officer who reportedly owns the 99TV channel, has been…continue reading

via Today Bharat nbsp; nbsp; The resignation of former CBI joint director VV Laksmi Narayana from the Jana Sena Party is the latest in a series of blows to the party since it was floated by popular actor Pawan Kalyan nearly six years ago. The former Indian Police Service (IPS) official cited Pawan's decision to return to films as the reason for his resignation. He said in his resignation letter that the Jana Sena chief's inconsistent words made him take this decision. The actor, however, defended his action saying he knows only acting to support his family and other dependents. Pawan recently started shooting for a Telugu re-make of Hindi movie 'Pink' and is reported to have signed another movie. Lakshmi Narayana, who had taken voluntary retirement in 2018 to enter politics and joined Jana Sena last year, contested unsuccessfully from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat. He was reportedly unhappy with Pawan for not consulting him while taking key decisions. Lakshmi Narayana as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) joint director headed probes into several high-profile cases, including disproportionate assets cases against present Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. "Lakshmi Narayana's resignation is a political setback for Jana Sena. He was among the top three leaders in the party and garnered maximum number of votes in the 2019 elections. This will have an adverse impact not just on the party, but also on the image of Pawan Kalyan as a leader," political analyst P Raghavendra Reddy told IANS. This came at a time when Pawan was hoping to be back at the centre stage of Andhra Pradesh politics with the recently announced alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, the actor's move to join hands with the BJP once again came under criticism from various quarters, with many wondering how he can do this without the Centre according a special category status to the state, an issue on which he had severed ties with the BJP. "After losing the elections, and by forging an alliance with the BJP, Jana Sena Party and its supremo have clearly indicated they do not have the muscle and will to carry on and develop an independent identity. Today, Pawan Kalyan has turned into a BJP leader and people will look at him as one," said Raghavendra Reddy. The analyst believes that Jana Sena has gone the Praja Rajyam way and surrendered its political ambitions to a national party. Pawan Kalyan's electoral debut was more disastrous than his elder brother K. Chiranjeevi's. The superstar had floated the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) amid much fanfare a few months before the 2009 elections, hoping to recreate the magic of legendary actor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder N.T. Rama Rao, who had created a record of sorts in the early 1980s by storming to power in nine months after taking the plunge into politics. Chiranjeevi's party came a cropper, securing 18 seats in the 294-member Assembly of the then united Andhra Pradesh. The actor was defeated from one of the constituencies he contested. Pawan Kalyan, who was with Chiranjeevi as the leader of the youth wing of the PRP, later fell out with him over his decision to merge the PRP with the Congress. Pawan floated the Jana Sena in March 2014 to 'question powers that be'. His ire was entirely targeted at the Congress on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. A strong supporter of then prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Pawan decided not to contest the elections and instead backed the TDP-BJP alliance. He shared the dais with Modi and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu at election rallies, calling upon people to reject both the Congress and the YSRCP. Later, Pawan distanced himself from both the parties after the BJP-led NDA government, of which TDP was a part, decided not to accord special category status to Andhra Pradesh, a promise made by the alliance during the poll campaign. In the April 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, which Jana Sena fought in alliance with the Left parties and Bahujan Samaj Party, Pawan's party got just one seat in the 175-member House. Pawan himself was defeated from both the Assembly seats he contested. It was a huge blow for the 49-year-old, who was hoping to emerge as a kingmaker -- if not the king. What was more shocking for him was that the YSRCP came to power with a huge majority and Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister. Pawan always had a strong dislike for the YSRCP chief. Though enjoying a huge fan following, Pawan Kalyan failed to build the party at the grassroot level. The critics blame his mercurial nature and part time politician-like attitude. He is known for sudden bursts of activity followed by a long pause.

via Today Bharat After suffering an embarrassing defeat in the 2019 state and general elections, nbsp;Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu seems to have changed the tone and nature of his arracks on incumbent Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.nbsp; The discourse that the party has spun around the chief ministerrsquo;s faith seems to have drawn inspiration from the BJPrsquo;s language, experts say. After Reddy presented silk robes to the Hindu deity at Tirumala during the Bramhotsavam ceremony, nbsp;he was accused by the TDP of not stating that he is a Christiannbsp;in the templersquo;s register, in line with past precedents. Not long ago, Naidu sent a message to his one-time allynbsp;ndash; the BJPnbsp;ndash; that he is no longer sailing with the Congressnbsp;by fielding a candidate in the by-electionnbsp;to Telanganarsquo;s Huzurnagar assembly segment. The ldquo;grand alliancerdquo; formed with the Congress to defeat the Telangana Rastra Samithi during the Telangana state elections became defunct after its poll fiasco. Naidu played an important role in the efforts to form a nation-wide anti-BJP front during the general election. Though the party did not formally ally with the Congress, it gravitated towards the grand old party as a result of its efforts to unseat Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi with Chandrababu Naidu. Photo: PTI However, after the TDPrsquo;s rout in the 2019 elections, Naidu now appears to have declared a ceasefire with the NDA government. His party has not only remained silent on some important decisionrsquo;s taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi but has also backed the NDArsquo;s revocation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir. While TDPrsquo;s founder, actor-politician N.T. Rama Rao, built the party on the rhetoric of self-pride of Telugu people, Naidu did not counter Union home minister Amit Shahrsquo;s comments on Hindi. The BJP president said Hindi was necessary to ldquo;uniterdquo; the country before backing down under pressure from other South Indian political parties, but the TDP chose to remain silent. Does it signal that Naidu could do a U-turn and join hands with the BJP? TDP insiders whonbsp; The Wirenbsp;spoke to confirmed that the former chief minister is mulling over the possibility of extending an olive branch to his former ally. This, party insiders say, may give the TDP enough strength to take on Jagan and save his party, which is currently facing its worst-ever existential crisis. Naidu under pressure Naidu has often said that he sees an opportunity in every threat and that his party has faced many hiccups since its inception in 1982. Of course, this is true. The government headed by NTR was toppled by then-governor Ram Lal at the behest of Indira Gandhi. Under NTRrsquo;s leadership, the party faced a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Congress in 1989 after surviving a coup. In 1995, the TDP faced another coup, this time engineered by Naidu himself, who unseated his father-in-law. It remained in power until 2004, before going into hibernation for a decade after Congress leader Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Jaganrsquo;s father, rode to victory. After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the TDP was able to emerge comfortably victorious in 2014, with Narendra Modirsquo;s help. For Naidu, the 2019 election was different: Modi was not his ally; Jagan had the backing of Telangana chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao; Naidu was forced to wage a three-cornered poll battle involving the BJP, YSR Congress and Pawan Kalyanrsquo;s Jana Sena Party. The result was a resounding victory for Jaganrsquo;s party, which secured 151 of the 175 assembly seats and 22 of the statersquo;s 25 Lok Sabha seats. Since coming to power, the YSR Congress has aggressively attacked the TDP and Naidu, leading many to label the governmentrsquo;s actions as ldquo;revenge politicsldquo;. A structure adjacent to Naidursquo;s riverside residence near Amaravati, which was used as a conference hall during his period as CM, was pulled down within days after Jagan came to power. The government has serviced notices to demolish Naidursquo;s rented building, which allegedly violates environmental norms. Around this time, the TDPrsquo;s firebrand leader in the Palnadu region of Guntur district and former Andhra Pradesh assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Raonbsp;killed himself at his Hyderabad residence. Naidu blamed his suicide on Reddyrsquo;s ldquo;vindictive politicsrdquo;. The TDPrsquo;s former assembly whip, facing several non-bailable criminal cases, landed in jail soon after the YSR Congress government was formed. The disastrous poll performance also saw several leadersnbsp;ndash; includingnbsp;four Rajya Sabha membersnbsp;ndash; deserting the TDP and joining the BJP. The collective impact of these developments was to make keeping the party flock together a daunting task, apart from the party ranks losing confidence. The TDP has accused the Jaganmohan Reddy government of lsquo;revenge politicsrsquo;. Photo: Twitter/@ysjagan lsquo;Historic blunderrsquo; A former TDP minister, wishing to remain anonymous, said Naidursquo;s decision to break away from the BJP and align with the Congress, nbsp;his partyrsquo;s traditional rival, was a lsquo;historic blunderrsquo;. ldquo; We paid a heavy price for this blunder. What we urgently need is a course correction and join hands with our former ally, rdquo; he commented. This view is echoed by the partyrsquo;s old-timers, who form the core. However, other leaders who joined the TDP from the Congressnbsp;ndash; including Naidunbsp;ndash; are flexible with regard to alliances. The BJP has been a natural and long-time ally of the TDP, even at difficult times for NTR, such came as the 1985 coup. The BJP even helped NTR get back to power with massive public support in the fight against the Congress. That is the reason why the Kamma caste, to which both NTR and Naidu belong, failed to digest the partyrsquo;s pro-Congress line. Kammas, who constitute a major funding source for the party, were disheartened by the TDPrsquo;s closeness with the Congress and the subsequent poll debacle. According to reports, they have started looking at the BJP in pursuit of greener pastures. Analysts view the Naidursquo;s subtle signals to support the saffron party as part of his attempts to check the migration of the Kamma elite. It also has the benefit of seeking support from the ruling party at the Centre in his fight against Jagan. Kota Sai Krishna, a BJP spokesperson, however, said his party will stick to Amit Shahrsquo;s statement that its doors are permanently shut for Naidu. The partyrsquo;s national president had made the statement after the TDP broke away from the NDA. Gali Nagaraja

via Today Bharat nbsp; The Jana Sena has finalised a list of candidates for 32 Assembly and 9 Parliamentary constituencies. Actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena party has finalised its first list of candidates for the upcoming Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh on April 11. This development came a day after the Election Commission of India announced the election schedule. Taking to Twitter, Pawan Kalyan said, ldquo;After a diligent process, the General body of our Party has finalised the first list of Candidates for 32 Assembly and 9 Parliamentary Constituencies (sic).rdquo; On Monday, the Jana Sena chief announced two MP candidates; DMR Sekhar from Amalappuram and Dr Akula Satyanarayana from Rajahmundry. While DMR Shekar is a former ONGC employee, who resigned to join the Jana Sena, Akula is a former BJP MLA who won in 2014. He submitted his resignation to the Speaker in January while joining the Jana Sena. nbsp; Andhra Pradesh, which is expected to see a multi-cornered fight, has 175 Assembly and 25 Parliament constituencies. The Jana Sena plans to contest all of them in an alliance with Left parties, CPI and CPM. Pawan has announced three candidates to the Legislative Assembly so far; Pithani Balakrishna from Mummidivaram constituency in East Godavari district, former Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar from Tenali and Thota Chandrasekhar from Guntur. The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and opposition YSRCP are also expected to announce their candidates soon. In the 2014 elections, Pawan had campaigned for TDP-BJP alliance. He later distanced himself from the BJP after the Centre failed to fulfil the promise to accord special category status to the state. He also found fault with the TDP for not fighting against the injustice done to the state. The party has already been allotted its poll symbol, a glass tumbler, by the Election Commission.nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;

via Today Bharat nbsp; Any major setback here will have serious negative consequences for both in the AP Assembly election set to be held a few months later. The last day for nominations in the Telangana polls is fast approaching but there is no indication from the Jana Sena Party chief and actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan about fielding candidates from his party in any of the 119 Assembly segments in the December 7 election. It may be recalled that a few days ago Pawan had said that he would take a final call on fielding candidates soon, while the YSRCP has openly announced its unpreparedness to contest this election as it is preoccupied with preparations for the 2019 Assembly election in Andhra. Political observers are now drawing comparisons between the TDP, YSRCP and Jana Sena in the context of formulation and implementation of their respective election strategies. At this juncture, there seems little scope for Pawan to put up his party nominees in Telangana, considering the fact that nominations will end on November 19, just three days from now. Moreover, the battle lines are drawn now and even the time-consuming process of seat sharing in the lsquo;Mahakutamirsquo; alliance has been completed now and the allies ndash; Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI ndash; are raring to take on Telangana CM K Chandrasekhara Rao unitedly. It is an undisputed fact that both YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Jana Sena leader Pawan enjoy popularity in every nook and corner of Telangana. While Jagan has the celebrity status of being the son of former chief minister, the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Pawan is a celebrity himself with a widespread network of fans and a youth following in the poll-bound state. Even then, they could not prepare their parties to make their presence felt in the Telangana polls, a fact which is raising many an eyebrow over what exactly might have led to this situation. Both the young leaders are apparently unwilling to burn their fingers in the December polls, as any major setback in this poll will have serious negative consequences that will greatly mar their chances in the AP Assembly election, which is likely in April or May 2019. This means that there would be only a short gap of four to five months after the December 7 polls in Telangana. For Jagan, the 2019 AP Assembly election is considered by his own party men as a do-or-die battle considering that a consecutive defeat, after the 2014 upset, will threaten the very survival of his regional party, YSRCP, which is named after his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Jagan has faced the bitter experience of many of his MLAs and MPs defecting to the TDP in the past three years. The YSRCP won 66 seats in the 175-member AP Assembly in 2014 and 22 of them joined the TDP later. The party won eight MP seats in AP out of which three defected to the TDP eventually. In Telangana, YSRCPrsquo;s situation is even worse as all the three MLAs and one MP it won in 2014 later switched loyalties to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). In the case of Pawan Kalyan, his partyrsquo;s organisational structure is yet to take a full-fledged shape in Andhra Pradesh itself. He is mostly relying on leaders like former assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar, who quit the Congress recently to join the Jana Sena Party in the hope of contesting the next elections in AP with Pawanrsquo;s blessings. The Jana Sena leader is also facing the difficult task of removing the caste tag being attached to his party by rivals in the face of a surge of support from his lsquo;Kapursquo; caste in the two Godavari districts. Against this backdrop, Pawan is forced to assert several times that there will be no talk of caste in his party and everybody will get equal opportunities based on merit and standing. On the other hand, the TDP has got a head start in the Telangana elections with its leader and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu having taken the lead to forge the Mahakutami alliance with the Congress. Though born out of the Congress party, Jaganrsquo;s YSRCP could not attempt an alliance with its parent party at any time because of the irreconcilable differences Jagan has with the Congress high command. In the all-important realignment of political alliances, both YSRCP and Jana Sena got marginalised in Telangana, to the point where they no longer have any chance of a reasonable appearance in the polls. The TDP did a balancing act and maintained its influence in the Mahakutami alliance, which has enabled the party to now contest 14 seats under seat-sharing with prospects of putting up a strong fight in most segments there.
