Story of time

How long had it been? Where had the time gone? The days seemed to be getting shorter. The nights seemed to be getting longer. His throat ached with an intense burn. His eyes stung from the tears of yesterday. Hurt and broken, by the seeds he had sown. Is this how he made everyone feel? Are these emotions that he caused people to experience? Is this what life would be like for him now? Are these what the golden years would bring him?

When he was 17 he had fallen in love with Rosemary. He called her Rose for short. He loved her more and more each day. When he turned 18, he left Rose for Shannon. Shannon was a woman that left an imprint on his body and soul. For years, he tried to erase the memories of how hurt Rose, had been. Her eyes stung with the tears that were yet to come.

At the age of 25, he felt alive. Shannon had gone and Ronda had come. Their one-bedroom flat seemed to fit for a king. His mind was clear of any hurt that he might have caused. One warm summer night, he hurt Ronda. No physical scars were detected on Ronda. But, a scar on her heart was there. He watched as she packed. Watched as she rubbed her neck with her hands, stating her throat ached. She had yelled and cried so hard, she could barely speak.

Now at the age of 90, he lay awaiting his death. Shattered and haunted by the past mistakes of his once, filling life. Now haunted by the life he knew he had lived wrong.
