No Limit - Round 2 Performances Appreciation

iKON: CLASSY SAVAGE

Bobby sleeping at the beginning of the performance, while the rest of the group is chilling in front of the TV, will never stop being funny, to me 😂. I enjoyed the little reference to Love Scenario and hearing both Jay and Lisa's uncensored cursing was oddly satisfying. Ju-ne's voice is incredible, he has such a nice tone... I definitely need to listen to more of their songs. Even if I didn't start watching the stages on Kingdom as an iKONIC, I have to say that seeing the guys perform was truly one of the best things in this program. I truly love how they always look like they're having the best of times on stage: that's really all that matters. I wish and hope for every other idol to feel that same kind of joy, when performing.

Stray Kids: GOD'S DDU-DU DDU-DU

Felix's "I'm fine, thank you, and you?" was a cool throwback to the first episode, Eunkwang was so proud. Seungmin has such a nice voice: it doesn't matter what he sings, he always sounds good. The tank reveal was epic, I loved how they were chanting the anthem "STRAY KIDS ALL AROUND THE WORLD" as the beat and choreo were picking up. I really liked how the performance ended. (Confession time: I was so busy taking in every detail of what was going on in that stage, that I somewhat missed Felix pulling up his shirt on my first watch of the performance 😂😂 I only noticed because I saw a fellow Stay commenting on it 😂😂😂).

BtoB: BLUE MOON (CINEMA VER.)

The jazz!! 😍 I'm not a Melody, so it was a new song for me. I listened to the original, afterwards, and I really like it as well. Many, many thanks to the Melodys that recommended this song to the guys! The version they performed on Kingdom is still my favorite between the two, though, simply because the jazz is more prominent in the "Cinema Ver." one. You can guess, as soon as it started, I was a goner just like Taeyang 😂 I loved the storyline, I loved it's twists!!! I adored the finale, with Minhyuk and Changsub laughing at Eunkwang's bad luck (and Eunkwang laughing back at them for not getting the girl, either), and Peniel and Miyeon skipping happily in their own little world. They all have amazing vocals and rapping. It was also hilarious to see how the other groups were sooo invested in the drama between Miyeon, Changsub and Minhyuk. Everyone's reaction was priceless.

Ateez: ANSWER: ODE TO JOY

I'm happy that they chose to perform the song many Atinys wanted to see the most. All the fans' comments I read about the stage were super positive, I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. When Jongho's voice joined those of La Poem's, I got chills. I have a soft spot for Ode to Joy, it's a song that I relate to my childhood and happy memories, but I haven't listened to in a long time. Hongjoong's rapping was so good! I might need to check out more of it. I also liked how they styled him: he looked ethereal 🥰.

SF9: MOVE

Chani's body control!! The factory set up reminded me of Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. They didn't have a meat grinder, but that human tree both creeped out and impressed me, at the same time. That truly looked like something you could find in a Contemporary Museum. This performance confirmed to me, once again, that Taeyang is one of the best dancers in the industry. They all did so well in pulling off this concept with their dance, vocals and rapping 🌼. Bobby hyping up Hwiyoung's handsomeness was a whole mood 😂😂😂 I liked how the guys posed in the rain and had the words "Be You" and "Move" behind them, and how they added their own colors to the more subdued hues (I'm thinking about the original Move MV here) of one of Taemin's masterpieces. It was truly an artistic performance 😊.

The Boyz: MONSTER (STORMBORN)

The Boyz are one of two boygroups from which I enjoy EXO's covers the most. This time was no exception: I liked their arrangement, and their dance was so on point... they executed every move so sharply!! Haknyeon starting out the song was the best decision ever, his voice captivated me instantly. I loved how Sangyeon growled out the "You can call me Monster" line. It was perfect. Jacob got to shine his high notes, yay!! 🤩 And I was super impressed by Eric's rap, he did so well!! Younghoon's reaction to Q's smiling during the performance was one of the most wholesome things I've seen on this entire program. I'm so happy that The Boyz let themselves enjoy their own stage. It was worth it 🌼.
