I guess I should start posting on here, so, Hi!!! I'm Val/Valentine. I'm going through massive Limbus Company brainrot so here are my girl ocs based on Jay Gatsby and Patrick Bateman (sounds unhinged I know) but I also play other Gacha games like Genshin, HKSR, Reverse 1999, and Skullgirls Mobile. I’m still not over the cuntatron 3000. Like wtf. This is one of the hardest character designs and the way he just appears, does his role slightly badly and just starts drama eventually kills me. I’m sorry but WHO is he and why will no character design ever top this. A design for a guy who didn’t even get a name. I’m befuddled. Every night I toss and turn because this guy just appeared, served cunt and then died.

If I am allowed 1 hot take about Canto VI: I really don't follow the "they loved each other so much that they went through every timeline" interpretations, because to me the main conflict fully read as a story about two people who hated themselves more than they loved each other. They were constantly looking for excuses on why they're the worst for each other and shouldn't be together. They never cared for learning what the other _truly_ wanted, they cared for what they thought the other wanted/needed. In turn, Canto VI is everything but romantic to me ( ´_ゝ` ) and I'm saying this as a huge sucker for tragic love stories

Carmen distortion limbus company funny but I’m also regularly thinking about the bloodbath log. Man. Lob Corp really drove home how dark the mental space was that Carmen ended up in. I keep thinking about her being fully conscious and aware at the end. And how her current actions probably stem from the fact that at her worst, she was alone. Even if people distort, she wants them to face their true and honest feelings. Acting out is better than acting on yourself

also catherine is soooo beato. idk anything about the source so maybe beato is just heavily inspired by her? but down to the design..... incredibly beato. excited for the catherine trans reveal. and for heath to go "small bombs"

Firmly believe Kromer lcb is Demians foil and both are foils to Sinclair (obvious, kinda). But looking at Kromer like that makes her REALLY interesting but Demian too. Both want Sinclair to become himself and grow into the person he wants to be. Demian encourages Sinclair to find the way himself with some help here and there, while Kromer violently shoves him to the Sinclair he denies. But essentially both are going for the same goal. Sinclair is just torn between two worlds.

Another thing I find interesting is looking at lcb Sinclair through the knowledge of his source book. Emil has a reoccurring dream he's obsessed with which he calls his lover and his nemesis, his destiny and his undoing, visually represented both as Demian but also as a maternal figure, and ultimately being the summation of Emils being. Lcb Kromer is connected to a lot of maternity symbolism (looking at her monster form, but also the lyrics to her theme whose maternal references make me go hogwild into another different direction re: that other maternal projmoon character). Obviously the book is a lot about Emil trying to understand how both light and dark worlds cannot exist separately from each other. While in lcb Sinclair only ever talks to Demian or Kromer separately, he never interacts with both at the same time. Demian and Kromer are two different sides to the coin that is Sinclair

After going through Canto IV again its become even more my favourite. I put some special attention to Dongrang this time, and man... It gets me how his ambitions were never high, he just wanted to make life for animals easier. Completely useless in the City, and Dongbaek made sure to remind him at every turn. Dongbaek contributes so much to Dongrangs declining mental health, whenever he tries to protect his ideals he's immediately being put down.

He loves playing the uncaring villain, he's feeling accomplished seeing how far he's made it compared to his former friends. But the moment Yi Sangs play concludes and Yi Sang finally remarks that he never noticed in how much pain Dongrang was, the SECOND Dongrang finally gets an apology, he immediately folds. That's all he wanted all this time. This simple acknowledgement he never received no matter how hard he tried to stay true to himself. And the moment he gets recognized, his first thought is about going back to who he was before all of this. It's heartbreaking

Dongbaeks fireworks never did much more than Dongrangs pursuits. Her fireworks brought joy and then destruction. Dongrangs inventions aimed to bring the same joy, but by protecting animals. And in the end none of his inventions got anywhere. Dongbaeks invention burned her, and Dongrangs inventions got cast aside, unnoticed. We never even learned what kind of inventions Dongrang created, because the moment he brought them up at the conferences, they were immediately shot down.

Canto IVs theme of capitalism being a tainting and corrupting force to even the best intentions is portrayed so heartwrenchingly and beautifully in all of the characters. All Dongrang could do at the end was to do anything to survive. Thats all capitalism will reduce you to
