i only just noticed the massive vertical stack of CDs in the molina living room and all i can think about is “when did luke make a mess of the living room by going through each and every single one of them cause lbr they’re probably all bangers if they’re rose molina’s” but also “what did julie do when she walked down to the kitchen at 1am one night and notice all these CD cases strewn all over the floor right after she nearly floored it by stepping on one of them by mistake”

the point of this list has lost the plot

luke being the first one to notice the time and having reality come crashing down all around him

i gUESS the fact that the boys were first tempted by caleb’s offer when they were fully immersed in the illusion of HGC but the minute they remember julie luke’s like “haha thank u but no goodbye”

so like. sure

again, julie’s outfit being wasted what a crime

the fact that it’s always luke walking up to julie, getting closer to her as he lowers his voice and just tries to. idk, be sincere and soft with her

the way you can tell that even though julie’s hurt by all three of their actions, she’s particularly torn up by and disappointed in luke - she’d shared with him a song she had started with her MOM. she had spent countless hours cooped up with him writing songs - something she hadn’t done with anyone else other than her mother before and here he just. bails on her?? especially after he’d seen how hard it was for her to play in bright it’s just a lot

it’s the fact that she opened up to him - she knows how important music is to him and he knows how important music is to her - they understand each other - and yet

AND YET

it hurts

and luke’s dumb. ya dumb dumb

the way he tries to run after her i suppose. he tries. a little. tiny bit

the way he just stands there while the reality of the situation comes crashing down on him. good

ok so episode 6 under the cut because i have no self-control and it got super long (and just lost the plot several times so read on at your own risk??) cool

@ flynn: girl what are you doing hyping nick up to julie you were literally sending him an unimpressed death glare last night for pushing julie into an uncomfortable situation smh CONTINUITY WHERE

hmmm the way julie’s hands slip into nick’s and her expression doesn’t even change or falter - contrasting that with the moment she slips her hands into luke’s in her daydream where it’s like she’s finally made it home - the way she breathes and closes her eyes, like it’s the first time she’s managed to fill her lungs with air in ages. it’s a major moment. with nick it’s...whatever lol

also when she bumps into nick? that girl doesn’t waste a second to yeet herself away from him, putting as much distance between them as possible in this awkward as heck moment (vs stand tall 😌😌😌 with luke 😌😌😌)

honestly at this point julie might still think she likes nick but her actions and body language say....otherwise.

“and he has to live with that guilt” says boy who is currently living with the guilt of having stood up the one girl whose opinion matters to him the most at this point

also the fact that he’s already quoting julie. bruh

the cute little low effort ‘sorry jingle’ by the guys and julie’s super duper unimpressed glare. good for her. also another 10/10 outfit, so cute

again with luke taking the lead and tentatively approaching julie

julie calling luke selfish and you can just see in his eyes how that’s probably a thing he’s heard before - maybe a recurring argument with his mom, maybe his own opinion of himself because of how he left things with his parents - either way it’s the thing that leaves him fully speechless and ya. it’s a whole ass mess

julie walking away but still holding onto that leaflet? she could’ve easily just balled it up and thrown it to the side or right back at the boys but she keeps it, taking it with her back to the house - a sign that she hasn’t fully given up on them yet? a sign of hope?

sad luke scene is sad. he’s crying and it’s a lot and then julie’s also crying and learning a little bit more about luke and his history and life and just understanding him a bit more

luke poofing back into the studio straight into the chair just to jump RIGHT BACK UP WHEN HE SEES JULIE will never not be funny

his shocked face when she tells him to grab his guitar - the look he throws the boys and the SHY CHUCKLE BRUH

his thank you is so sincere he’s just so goddamn thankful for this girl and everything she’s done for him and his boys and the things she continues to do. bring love and joy and music into their lives even though they’re dead

she walks up to him with her mic and my dude has already ditched his own mic repositioned himself mentally prepared himself he’s so ready to be close to julie again as they sing to each other this is. a lot (i wonder if they do mic shares during practice or not cause it looks like this dude would like more mic shares)

julie freaking out as andi starts walking towards them - she looks back at the boys but her eyes really just focus on luke — she trusts him, and she’s starting to learn that maybe even with the mess up he still has her back. it’s as simple as that
