Idk why more people don't have one of these, it's really simple to make, but basically a little bit of code that adds each character's age to their profile and then automatically updates it / ages them + 1 year on their birth month.

The only input from you is to update the year when your board's year changes, so you can make it work for IC settings that are using different timelines than IRL as well.

to the "consequences of your own actions" person: i have a question for you when someone does something wrong, they mistreat someone, they hurt someone, etc. why is it then the response to go and air out that drama publicly for everyone to see? all the things that were posted on tattler, including the sasha situation, were truly not things that needed to be public rpc knowledge. people's interpersonal conflicts, who people like/don't like, etc are not everyone's business. shaming people publicly is still bullying even if they hurt you first, and if you truly want to be a bigger person, then don't facilitate the same hurt onto someone that they put onto you. the old take "an eye for an eye make the whole world blind" is true here for this situation, if someone hurt you, i am so sorry that you were hurt, but you are not owed public restitution for the hurt done upon you. the accountability falls on the person that hurt you to make it up to you in private, not in public. most people that rp in the jcink sphere are 21+, i'd say that the majority are 25+ to be honest, and we should be able to handle conflicts maturely. without gossip blogs, people will still get hurt and people will still gossip, but the hurt will not be widespread. no one owes anyone a public apology, my friends. you are not entitled to that, no matter how much mudslinging you have done. ignore the people that you don't like, don't have them in your spaces, don't join their sites. your experiences are not universal and even the world's biggest assholes have friends. you don't get to change that because you're salty.

I would be inclined to agree. There's a difference between resolution/closure, and punishment. Seeking to wound back because you were wounded isn't commendable. It's just revenge.

Love how since the pedo left her group the current staff has apparently reversed or outright removed bans she put on the group. Old members are returning now that she's gone, some of us are even talking about going back if my semi-private board ever goes dead, and I've even gotten a message that I should rejoin from staff.

I've said for years that this person was toxic and problematic on top of being a pedo and a code thief and scammer. All these claims were proven recently and more and more people are happily revealing they feared her knowing what she does to people like myself.

Given all this, it's fun to see others realize that you are indeed the problem here and should have gone away years ago. Now Only Thisbe is willing to protect your toxic problematic past. Everyone else who's protected you have been exposed as fellow pedos and toxic people like yourself and left the rpc. Take the hint already.

After taking a break I decided to post all this to show how the UP Staff handles issues of someone being harassed and their paranoid suspicions. I have never interacted with Bubbles and Emi. I saw the thread on Jcink Anon about it before the blog was deleted, the harassed party was banned from UP at the same time I was based on according to what they said here their belief that it was all a lie. I know nothing about that.

I do know that UP wasn't very welcoming when I joined except for a few people. The person they're claiming was harassed is Kef. She reacted to my first character's react post in the server. I reached out to plot with her, talked to her about wanting to use Seo Changbin because she has a Bang Chan character. The face was taken by the validating member Emi. She also had the name Daniel. I asked the staff about it and decided not to try to use either, I didn't want to take away something from someone who they claimed was returning.

Curiosity made me look at Emi's threads, she had many with Kef and I felt guilty I may have brought up something that caused her discomfort. I apologized. I had already made a react thread for her. While she was active in the server and on the site the thread I made wasn't being tagged. I assumed it didn't work for her considering my character was 42 and all of hers were in their 20s. I asked her if there was something wrong with the thread. When she didn't reply I had it archived, it got tagged the same day I put it to be archived. It left a bad taste for me, I decided not to interact with her anymore.

I was in the process of making my 3rd character for a member's adoption request. Someone mentioned farm families in the plotting channel. I wanted my character in one, checked the families they mentioned and again the name Emi came up. She had a lot of characters. I saw her request for a ranch family, one person was still active in it. I tagged them in the server when someone else said the family was no longer active. I planned to reach out to both farm families to see where my character would fit. I left for a date, returned to find I couldn't access the server.

UP Staff banned me for talking to someone who reacted to me, tagging someone that was part of a farm family other members mentioned and having a similar IP to a person who they later banned. I use the free VPN Hot Spot Shield, it gives a limited number of VPNs. All VPNs do but free ones are even more limited than premium ones. I use VPNs because I've witnessed someone doxxed before over something asinine.

Never did UP Staff provide any proof of their claims. They turned me and other people into villains instead based on circumstances. I don't know if they were ever contacted by law enforcement, I doubt it since no one ever reached out to me either after I was accused of being part of the drama.

UP was my first jcink rp and it will be my last rp. There are too many people who jump to destroying someone over speaking to them based on their own wrong ideas.

Writing smut for rp

Well someone over on tattler was asking for advice so I guess I'll oblige.

Get over it

This has never been a problem for me but it might be for you. If you feel guilt about sex or feel cringe about writing it, you gotta let that go. You've made the decision so jump right in.

It's nothing special

There's no special secret recipe to writing smut. It's exactly the same as writing any other thread, you're just writing about a different topic. However, just like with any other topic, you can equip yourself.

Know your subject matter

Many of us are writing outside our gender or our sexualities. Get ye to Scarleteen and make sure you know how your character can have sex. And from there, decide how they prefer to have sex, and what their hard limits are.

Likewise, make sure you understand their anatomy. Even if you plan to ignore certain realities, it's best to know they exist.

Know your partner/s

What are their squicks? What are their no-gos? Are they cool with surprises or do you need to run ideas past them first? Make sure you're on the same page.

What kind of relationship is this?

Writing a smut thread involving romance is different from writing a one-night-stand. Writing an established relationship is different from writing a first encounter.

What kind of emotions are involved?

How does your character feel about their partner? AND how do they feel about their partner as compared to themself? What do they want to get out of this thread, or what do they want their partner to get out of it? A lot of smut threads are less about the sex than about the intense emotions involved so indulge yourself.

Pleasure

Sex is for pleasure, guys.

I often read smut threads by people other than myself and they do not touch on this. There is a lot about what is physically happening between two people, and what each character is thinking or wanting but very little about the pleasure they feel as a result of the interaction.

Don't forget the foreplay

I have seen people jump straight into the tab A into slot B part of a smut thread and like, how? When I write smut 95% of my thread is the foreplay.

Foreplay is also the part where you put most of the talking, and your smut threads should have talking. I think smut threads are a really good opportunity for character development, just through what sort of things your character talks about during sex.

Word Choice

In your typical smut thread you're going to be writing about parts of the anatomy that you usually wouldn't. Personally, I like to approach this using the words my character would use. I'm also partial to a nice allusion.

Some people will tell you never to use the phrase "throbbing member" or "flower" but honestly I think these could be effective if they were from the perspective of a particularly repressed character.

Consent

It is actually really sexy to roleplay the consent part of a smut thread.

However, there are some times when it's essential, such as if your characters are kinky, or if one of them is using mobility/accessibility aids. In these situations, if you leave out the consent part, your character will come across as inconsiderate at best and abusive at worst.

The Letters

For the person talking about Emi sending a long letter. She wrote about 8 of these and sent them to people. This is the start of the one I received. I asked before posting this and am not going to post the entire thing. It was deeply personal and coming from someone who is trying to heal from the trauma all this caused them.

If you received one and shared it with others without her knowledge shame on you. These weren't attempts to harass anyone, they were to explain things and give everyone involved closure. She didn't even ask for responses in return. Yet uninvolved people have been given license to use them against Emi.
