Does he look down them for their "silly" mistakes? Does he see them as his equal?? Would he have banter with them??

I haven’t gone back to rework the “Prologue” stuff in awhile, but I do have plenty of old and initial concept stuff regarding it! Gsdhjk It’s just not very shiny or updated per se ;v;

Basically, there was a point where Astral World was governed by three ‘artificial’ and powerful Guardians, each whom represented a different facet of life/energy.

Don Thousand (he had a different name at the time though), the “Soul” of Astral World, who governed the understanding of Chaos.

Protos, the “Heart” of Astral World, who governed the search and maintaining of Balance.

And, most recent to the group...

Eliphas. “Will” of the Astral World. Pursuer of Order and ideals of Ranking-Up.

Before Eliphas came along, Don and Protos got along swimmingly, and there was still a period of peace even after Eliphas’ creation and addition to the guardians. Protos considered them like his close friends. However, Eliphas and Don Thousand would butt heads a lot due to their polarizing views and ideals and pursuits etc, regarding chaos specifically. Protos did his best to keep the peace between them, but something was clearly escalating...

This is a near-incomprehensible pile of stuff relating to Protos’ design and place amongst the other two agshjk As for a gist of more the proper lore, here’s one of the initial plot breakdowns for pretty much what happened pre-canon in Astral World 🩵

Again, it’s rather dated, but I think most of it does still hold up to at least give a fair idea what occurred and what I was going for with all the pre-ZeXal context! ;v;

🫶: Who ended up falling first? Which of them actually realized that they’d fallen in love first?

Hard to say, honestly. For the sake of an answer, I'll say they fell at roughly the same time. But Mengying had more of a reaction jdhfs

Ao Lie realized he'd fallen for her one day while helping her catch one of the errant the chickens (her hair was falling around her face and she had some straw in her hair and she was frustrated but she still held the chicken gently, not wanting to hurt it) and his reaction was basically "…huh, neat. Well this explains a few things I felt." Mengying realized close to the same time. Maybe she saw how good he was with her father's favorite horse. Maybe she saw how serious he got when someone in the market tried to cheat her. But either way, she briefly thought how beautiful he looked and how wonderful he was, and her brain had a record-scratch moment. Ao Lie thought she was getting sick because suddenly her entire face was red.

✏️: How canon compliant are you with them? Do you stick pretty close or just have fun cause it’s your ship so no one can tell you what to do other wise?

zeds powers are eating me from the inside. we know they can talk to plants. we know that plants react to their emotions (?? was that a one off thing?? i'm assuming its canon) we know that plants have their own personalities. we know that zed considers themself fundementally different from the people in this world. we also know that zed (and everyone else) are 100% human. the name hybrid makes me think they are half-plant??? i'm so hyped for when i get to know (1/2)

like how come zed can communicate and everyone else can't? like these plants are obviously intelligent, they can tip rafts over for fun, and they have their own personalities, and are also EVERYWHERE, why wouldn't the remains of humanity try to understand them? are people just unaware that the plants are intelligent?? like with the vines that grab people, do people assume its just mindless, like venus flytraps????

why aren't people who are really into plants attempting to study them? even just in an arbitrary way?? why is this not humanities priority? i think it's shown a little bit with trigger, but is that distrust from the populace why zed and their family member have isolated themselves, or is their something more? is zed an experiment of some kind? were the plants an experiment of some kind?? are they alien life and zed is half-alien? but you also said that zed is fully human AHHHH and those people who were ransacking their farm, were they targeting zed and their family member because of their powers? were they just trying to survive, by scavenging in this case? i feel like it would be easier to scavenge from abandoned structures, and there should be a lot of those, so why go after a place with people in it? just seems a little fishy to me. also, where is the rest of zed's family? did they die and that is why zed's family member is wary??

sorry if any of my information is inaccurate, i played the game a little bit ago and am now going through your whole blog to feed my hyperfixation. i'm sorry if this seems like i'm nitpicking!! i really enjoyed hybrid (and bad ritual and manor hill) and zed's powers have been something i've been thinking about. i understand that you can't answer any of my questions because of spoilers, i just needed somewhere to wordvomit about your game, and what better place to do that than here?

so first off *chinhands* don't feel bad because I love every word of this, and you're right of course that I obvi I'm not going to answer directly (idt it was asked in the spirit of "please answer" anyway). I will clear some stuff up though !!

Plants do react to Zed's emotions, but they also react to everyone else's: Zed is just aware that it's happening, but it's very much canon (although I will say, they're reacting to Zed's emotions as anyone unconsciously reacts to another's emotional state—just to clarify that it's not like special plant magic with rules, it's just communication with things that don't have mouths or eyes, usually).

is Zed the only one who can do it? is no one else studying the phenomena? :) this and answers to other questions will become more apparent once Zed spends more than a nap and a bath with other people.

You're right, Zed and their guardian were super isolated, in a way that was so complete that Zed barely even noticed until it came to an end extremely abruptly and pretty violently considering the circumstances.

Fatherhood! Yes, well.......

As an alien, his definition of fatherhood isn't something that is synonymous with ours. As the (former) leader of the Black Arms, he was intricately involved in their creation. (side note, I don't think he would physically birth them, SDJK just the only one out of his race that was capable of 'creating' life. similar to shadow, just less hog. think of a queen bee but... bioengineering.)

He creates, they emerge with a set purpose and... that's that. He holds an a certain level of attachment to his people in the sense that they are his, but it's nothing affectionate. It's just a fact to him.

Shadow was such a strange point of his life. Shadow was something entirely new - and his first collab JDHF. Still, I think he'd view Shadow with having a set function, just like the rest of his flock. The complete opposite of Gerald. It was just personally insulting to him when Shadow began to stray away from this purpose.

this is all to say that.... regarding fatherhood and Doom.... I think he just.... doesn't. His obligations as a leader were twofold: to ensure the survival and prosperity of his people, and to expand their influence through conquest. That's it. Shadow just fucked up everything.
