30 Days of Heavensward

Day 01 – Introduce Yourself

Howdy folks! I am the player behind Safayal L’han on the Balmung server of Final Fantasy XIV. Thanks for joining me on this wonderful celebration of the Heavensward expansion as we count down the days to Stormblood. I am a few days behind so I will double post until I’m caught up, but I wanted to reflect back on my time spent in 3.X and thought this was an awesome way to do so. Thanks to @jefaraquix for creating this and @celestial-opposition for reblogging it and catching my attention.

I started playing XIV with a dear friend of mine as a way to help bridge the long distance gap between us. We met and fought alongside so many great friends and free companies before eventually making the move to Balmung in search of a more active RP scene. Though it began as another creative medium to express our stories, I eventually grew to appreciate the game for what it was as well and started levelling alt jobs and exploring crafting and raiding. Before long I was following live letters, analyzing forum posts, buying merch and getting on a first name basis with the dev team.

Suffice it to say, I’m in pretty deep!

IRL I’m a twentysomething guy who drinks too much coffee, stays up far too late, plays too many video games, and has a bigger imagination than is probably necessary. Music is an essential part of my life – or rather, a deep appreciation for it is, as I’m not able to play any instruments. I like graphic design, beaches, any kind of media with a great story, giant robots, magical girls, and cherries.    If you want to know more about Safayel, check out his bio post here (work in progress).
