Imagine: our beloved shadowhunters in a vampire diaries S4x22/23 type of scenario where the veil between the living and the dead falls and chaos ensues
angry dead people are back for unifinished business with the mcs, you name it, they face it
(hint hint it's terrible)
magnus & co. are looking for a way to bring it back up but it's difficult enough without the now corporeal walking dead terrorists
the veil separates the living and the ghosts of those who are not ready to move on but also other supernatural whatnots
meaning that demons frequently infiltrate the other side bc it's a parallel dimensional death realm but usually rarely find weaknesses in the veil to cross over (and be killed by "stupid hot people")
but the whole thing is gone so demons are flooding everywhere and it is not that great
because the dead can now become tangible again (if they want to that is), they do that, e.g. Valentine and his posse go for Clary, and there are just so many
(we'll get back to them)
Meanwhile in London, Yanluo has crawled his way into Cirenworth because demons can hold grudges forever and he still has quite the bone to pick with Wenyu, Yiwen and Elias' blood (i.e. Jem holds the #1 spot in his deathnote (yes yanluo has a deathnote in canon myth even though it works a bit differently))
and why give up such ample opportunity for petty revenge?
nobody at the Carstairs home knows what is going on however (Tessa is with Magnus in New York)
so Mina is ripped out of her cradle in the middle of the night and held hostage until Jem hears her cry
listen. my chinese violin man has seen some shit
in his long (but not as long as it could have been) life he has spent more time flirting with his death than most and seems practically unflappable atp
but this is a nightmare he's never been able to completely get over (because watching your parents die while being tortured is traumatic™)
so jem is restrained and absolutely terrified to his core bc this cannot be happening again
fate has a really fucked up sense of humor, he thinks
history repeating itself was not on his bingo card and he is not sure if it's him or his sweet sweet baby girl that is going to croak. After all that effort to stay alive
and he prays to the angel it's him. Anyone but little love Mina, and he wonders, distantly, if his mother had felt the same way when she died
(The anguish and agony forever carved into his memory and onto her face tell him she would have)
Yanluo's ready to strike and poison him again but instead get's flung to the other side of the hall
(no minas were harmed in this scene)
things are moving too fast for him to see but in his injury induced haze he swears he hallucinates the image of his mother reaching for him before passing out
when he wakes up again it's to a destroyed foyer and his crying baby in his Kit's arms who looks a lot worse for wear
so the fight had been real. he definitely didn't imagine that
But he soon comes to the realization that he must have imagined his mother in someone else's stead, coming to protect him. How pathetic of him. He'd have to thank them later.
He hasn't spotted the unsheathed Jian coverd in ichor on the left side of the room yet.
For a couple of minutes he takes deep breaths. It was over.
He's as calm as he could get under his circumstamces
But it's Kit's disgruntled throwaway comment that shatters all semblance of peace he's found
"What the heck? Wenyu never told me she could fight like that!"
(amidst it all, young brown eyes and golden ones meet over Kit's shoulder)
Back in New York, a desperate redheaded girl was surprised to see another pair of green eyes joining the chaos and helping her fight off Valentine
and maybe, though she'll never admit it to anyone but herself, a long standing heavy weight was now off her shoulders after this day
(and if she felt lighter than she has in a long time, nobody had to know.)

With the Energon Universe in full swing and actually beginning to sell people on GI Joe’s concept (replacing Murican soldiers and evil terrorists with a military based spy thriller and an ancient conspiracy of snake people respectively), some people are inevitably wondering what other franchises Hasbro will try to ask Kirkman to put into the universe. So far he has been adamant that Skybound will only publish four Energon Universe comics at a time, but given that the Joe miniseries will eventually lead into a single ongoing, as well as Hasbro presumably wanting to sell more properties for toys and/or future media, it’s worth looking at what they still have the rights to and the odds of them showing up.
MASK - The trademark was just renewed today, and is probably the most likely thing to appear. Funny thing is Hasbro aren’t even the original owners, having acquired MASK and the GoBots in the purchase of Tonka. For years there have been attempts to merge MASK into GI Joe as one of its many, many sub-divisions (alongside such real toy lines as Battle Corps, Mega Marines, Ninja Force, Eco-Warriors, and Star Brigade) and the ground-up approach of the Energon Universe makes it really easy. Humanity studies Cybertronians, and soon an elite force has vehicles that turn into other vehicles, with pilots that use the trademark masks. Best part is as a Joe subdivision, they won’t even need a new book.
Action Man - Another “we could throw it into Joe if need be” license, although one that may seem far more redundant. Funny enough, Action Man started as the European brand of GI Joe’s original toys (because they wanted a less American centric name in foreign markets) but unlike MASK, they add little to Joe as it exists. Not a likely addition.
Visionaries - Here’s one that likely won’t be seen unless they cameo in Void Rivals. Visionaries was re-introduced in IDW’s continuity in a crossover with Transformers that was widely reviled by just about everybody and failed to spark interest in a brand revival. While the Void Rivals crew might end up near Prysmos, it’s highly unlikely.
Jem - The red headed stepchild of Hasbro’s brands, Jem hasn’t been touched since a very poorly selling IDW comic series that was divisive to put it mildly and a movie that made made $2 million on a $5 million production budget and was widely reviled. While there is some merit to the idea of having a comic looking at society while both the Transformers are on Earth and Joe is fighting Cobra from a civilian perspective, Hasbro will probably be loathe to use Jem again. The ONLY way I can see Jem appearing is in a one-shot akin to Neon Genesis IMPACTS, an Evangelion one shot made for the Japan Animators Expo about an idol group making a go at a career during the events of Evangelion that ends with them all being killed during an episode of the series proper. If Hasbro signs off on a one shot comic about Jem and the Holograms getting killed by Decepticons, it’s probably them washing their hands of the franchise.
As for other franchises? Hasbro no longer has the rights to the Inhumanoids, ROM the Spaceknight is back at Marvel where they’re reprinting his iconic 80s run, and My Little Pony is still at IDW. So unless I missed something, those are all the major Hasbro franchises that could end up being put into the Energon Universe unless Hasbro wants to try scraping their board games for ideas.

SRINAGAR, India — Weapons left behind by U.S. forces during the withdrawal from Afghanistan are surfacing in another conflict, further arming militants in the disputed South Asian region of Kashmir in what experts say could be just the start of the weapons’ global journey.
Authorities in Indian-controlled Kashmir tell NBC News that militants trying to annex the region for Pakistan are carrying M4s, M16s and other U.S.-made arms and ammunition that have rarely been seen in the 30-year conflict. A major reason, they say, is a regional flood of U.S.-funded weapons that fell into the hands of the Taliban when U.S.-led NATO forces withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021.
Most of the weapons recovered so far, officials say, are from Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) or Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), both Pakistan-based militant groups that the U.S. designates as terrorist organizations. In a Twitter post last year, for example, police said they had seized an M4 carbine assault rifle after a gunfight that killed two militants from JeM.
Militants from both groups had been sent to Afghanistan to fight alongside or train the Taliban before the U.S. withdrawal, said Lt. Col. Emron Musavi, an Indian army spokesperson in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir.
“It can be safely assumed that they have access to the weapons left behind,” he said.
Government officials in Afghanistan and Pakistan did not respond to requests for comment.
Kashmir, a Himalayan region known for its beautiful landscapes, shares borders with India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and China. A separatist insurgency in the part of Kashmir controlled by India has killed tens of thousands of people since the 1990s and been a constant source of tension between nuclear powers India and Pakistan.
The year opened in violence as Kashmir police blamed militants for a Jan. 1 gunfire attack that killed four people in the southern village of Dhangri, followed by an explosion in the same area the next day that killed a 5-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. At least six people were injured on Jan. 21 in two explosions in the city of Jammu.
While the U.S.-made weapons are unlikely to shift the balance of power in the Kashmir conflict, they give the Taliban a sizable reservoir of combat power potentially available to those willing and able to purchase it, said Jonathan Schroden, director of the Countering Threats and Challenges Program at the Center for Naval Analyses, a research group based outside Washington.
“When combined with the Taliban’s need for money and extant smuggling networks, that reservoir poses a substantial threat to regional actors for years to come,” he said.
A trove of weapons
More than $7.1 billion in U.S.-funded military equipment was in the possession of the Afghan government when it fell to the Taliban in August 2021 amid the withdrawal, according to a Defense Department report published last August. Though more than half of it was ground vehicles, it also included more than 316,000 weapons worth almost $512 million, plus ammunition and other accessories.
While large numbers of small arms that had been transferred to Afghan forces most likely ended up in the hands of the Taliban, “it’s important to remember that nearly all weapons and equipment used by U.S. military forces in Afghanistan were either retrograded or destroyed prior to our withdrawal,” Army Lt. Col. Rob Lodewick, a spokesperson for the Pentagon, said in a statement.
The Defense Department report also pointed out that the operational condition of the Afghan army’s equipment was unknown.
Questions around the weapons being used in Kashmir were raised in January 2022, when a video of militants brandishing what appeared to be American-made guns was shared widely on Indian social media. Though the origin of the weapons in such cases can be difficult to verify — some may be modified to look like U.S. weapons, while others may not have been manufactured in the U.S. — the Indian military says it has recovered at least seven that are authentic.
“From the weapons and equipment that we recovered, we realized that there was a spillover of high-tech weapons, night-vision devices and equipment, which were left by the Americans in Afghanistan [and] were now finding their way toward this side,” Maj. Gen. Ajay Chandpuria, an Indian army official, was quoted as saying by Indian media last year.
Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Gov. Manoj Sinha said the government was aware of the issue and that measures were in place to combat the infiltration of U.S. weapons into Kashmir.
“We are monitoring the situation closely and have taken steps accordingly. Our police and army are on the job,” Sinha, the region’s top official, said on the sidelines of a news conference last year at his official residence in Srinagar.
Kashmir police official Vijay Kumar also said authorities were fully capable of countering the militant threat.
“Our forces are tracking down militants on a daily basis,” he said. “We are constantly upgrading our equipment and have the latest weaponry at our disposal.”
The militant groups JeM and LeT could be buying U.S. weapons from the Taliban in Afghanistan, where the United Nations says both groups have bases, or through smugglers in Pakistan, said Ajai Sahni, an author on counterterrorism who serves as executive director of the Institute for Conflict Management, a think tank in New Delhi.
Militants will struggle to get the upper hand, however, without more advanced weapons that have greater firepower but are more difficult to smuggle into the region, Sahni said.
Schroden said that although he had not seen substantial reports of U.S.-made weapons left behind in Afghanistan appearing outside of Kashmir, it would not be surprising if they eventually began turning up farther away in places such as Yemen, Syria and parts of Africa.
“I suspect there hasn’t yet been enough time for these weapons to percolate out that far,” he said. “It’s also possible that the Taliban have held tightly to most of them thus far as part of their efforts to consolidate power and seek legitimization from the international community.”
Beyond weapons, the Taliban’s victory in Afghanistan gave an ideological boost to radical militants in Kashmir and elsewhere, said Ahmad Shuja Jamal, a former Afghan civil servant living in exile in Australia.
Such militants, he said, “now see in clear terms the political dividends of long-term violence.”

Who Is Killing India's Enemies Abroad? Hafiz Saeed Is Having NIGHTMARES! Even Pakistan Is Not A 'SAFE HEAVEN' Anymore For Perpetrators
Tumblr media
In Karachi, Pakistan, one of India's most wanted terrorists, Mufti Kasar Farooq, was fatally shot. Mufti Kasar was a founding member of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and was known to be a close associate of the militant Hafiz Saeed. A video of the incident has also emerged, showing Mufti Kasar walking with a group of people outside a mosque when gunfire erupted. In an attempt to escape, Mufti Kasar was seen hastily running, but he stumbled and fell after being hit by a bullet in his back.
How Was Hafiz Saeed's Associate Killed?
The sound of gunshots sent those present at the scene fleeing for their lives, desperately trying to save themselves. It was reported that among the people caught up in the gunfire were some children studying in a nearby madrasa, and one of them was injured during the shooting. After the shooting, the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, managed to escape, and their identities remain unknown. Mufti Kasar Farooq was then rushed to the hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him dead.
The Elimination of India's Enemies, One by One
It is noteworthy that in recent times, several terrorists plotting against India have been killed worldwide, with some of these killings taking place in Pakistan. Mufti Kasar Farooq was one such individual. He was not only a close associate of terrorist Hafiz Saeed but also someone whom India had been searching for, much like Hafiz Saeed himself, for an extended period. However, due to his residence in Pakistan, India had been unable to apprehend him. Similar incidents have occurred recently, with the elimination of other terrorists, including JeM's Jiya-ur-Rehman, raising questions about the safety of these individuals hiding in Pakistan.
Hafiz Saeed Faces Mounting Difficulties
Hafiz Saeed, the most wanted terrorist in India and the chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba, is facing increasingly challenging circumstances. Starting from September 26, his son, Kamaluddin Saeed, has also been reported missing. No concrete information about his whereabouts has emerged thus far. It is said that Kamaluddin Saeed was kidnapped by some individuals in a car from Peshawar on that day, and his subsequent location remains unknown.
Who Kidnapped Hafiz Saeed's Son?
Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI, has been actively investigating this case, but the identity of the kidnappers and the current whereabouts of Hafiz Saeed's son have not been ascertained. Additionally, there have been unverified reports in the Pakistani media that due to the continuous and increasing attacks on Lashkar-e-Taiba members, ISI has also relocated Kamaluddin Saeed to a secure location, and the news of his abduction is false.
Enhanced Security Measures for Talha, Hafiz Saeed's Brother
During this time, security measures for Talha, Hafiz Saeed's brother, have also been increased. Talha had survived a life-threatening attack in 2019 when he was just a child. Talha is responsible for managing Lashkar's finances and had been working with the terrorists for many years. However, his recent rise in prominence within the organization has led to concerns among some of the veteran terrorists, who oppose his leadership. In an effort to prevent any further escalation, Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI, has sent some of the key leaders of the terrorist organization to safe locations.
Last year in April, the Indian government had declared Talha Saeed as a terrorist. Furthermore, India has been advocating for his designation as a global terrorist, but China has repeatedly obstructed these efforts. Hafiz Talha Saeed openly operates in Pakistan and promotes jihad against Indian interests in public gatherings and forums, including those in India, the United States, and Western countries.
