Boeing is presenting the F-15EX fighter to Poland as a potential U.S. Department of Defense's potential foreign military sales (FMS) program.
The announcement was made at the MSPO International Defense Industry Annual Exhibition, where Boeing highlights advanced defense systems, capabilities and services.

“Poland's interest in the F-15EX confirms its dedication to the preparation and effectiveness of its military forces,” said Tim Flood, senior director of Global Business Development for Europe and the Americas. “The F-15EX offers superior interoperability, support and accessibility, along with a robust industrial plan that would support Poland's goal of developing independent defense capabilities.”
Boeing has made significant investments in the F-15EX, making it the most capable multifunctional fighter in production today. The aircraft offers greater survival capacity and capacity with:
fly-by-wire flight controls,
a new electronic warfare system,
a FULL GLASS digital cockpit,
the latest mission systems and software capabilities,
as well as the ability to carry advanced hypersonic weapons.
“The F-15EX is the most advanced fighter in the world, with unparalleled capacity, lethality and survivability and is the right choice to strengthen Poland's safety needs,” said Rob Novotny, director of Business Development of Boeing's F-15 program. “Through improved interoperability with U.S. and NATO forces, technological growth capacity and an economic operational life of more than 20,000 hours, Poland can expect the F-15EX to win in existing and future threat environments.”

The F-15EX is in production with two aircraft delivered to the U.S. Air Force. Indonesia recently became the 8º country to select the F-15 and will become the first export customer of the last EX variant when the sale is finalized.
Boeing has been present in Poland for more than 30 years. Based in Warsaw, Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics operations in Gda? sk and parts and distribution services in Rzeszow, Boeing employs more than 1,000 people in Poland and is currently establishing a strong engineering capacity in all three locations. In addition to its growing presence in the country, Boeing is an important partner of the Polish aviation industry and has strong relations with local communities, industry, airlines, the Polish government and the Polish Armed Forces.

Today we begin the journey of Advent, which will culminate in Christmas. Advent is the time that is given to us to welcome the Lord who comes to meet us, to verify our desire for God, to look ahead and prepare ourselves for Christ’s return. He will return to us on the feast of Christmas, when we will remember His historical coming in the humility of the human condition; however, He comes within us every time we are disposed to receive Him, and He will come again at the end of time to “judge the living and the dead.” Therefore, we must always be vigilant and wait for the Lord with the hope of meeting Him. The person that heeds then turns also to the world, trying to counter the indifference and cruelty in it, and rejoicing over the treasures of beauty that also exist and are guarded. It’s about having a look of understanding either to recognize the miseries and poverties of individuals and societies or to recognize the richness hidden in little everyday things, precisely there, where the Lord has placed us. The vigilant person is the one that receives the invitation to watch, namely, not to let himself be overcome by the sleep of discouragement, of lack of hope, of disappointment and, at the same time, rejects the solicitation of the many vanities that overflow in the world and behind which, sometimes, personal and family time and serenity are sacrificed. It is the painful experience of the people of Israel, recounts the prophet Isaiah: God seemed to have left His people wander far from His ways (Cf. 63:17), but this was an effect of the infidelity of the people themselves (Cf. 64:4b). We also often find ourselves in this situation of infidelity to the Lord’s call: He indicates to us the good way, the way of faith, the way of love, but we look for our happiness elsewhere. Eurofighters from Germany start QRA tasks in Slovakia

To shorten the time until the entry into service of the new F-16 Block 70/72 for Slovakia, which delivered its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) will be on alert in the Eastern European country until December 22 of this year.
As part of the assistance to the NATO alliance, the German Air Force took over air policing in Slovakia's airspace on September 2, 2023.
The associated tasks are carried out by the QRA (Rapid Reaction Alert) group of Squadron 74 of the Neuburg an der Donau Tactical Air Force. The Eurofighters of Neuburg will not only fly over Slovakia during real alerts, but will also carry out training flights in Slovak airspace and land on Slovak airfields.

Brigadier General Frank Gräfe, Head of Department 2 of the German Air Force Command, is responsible for the strategic and operational deployment planning within the Luftwaffe. He said: "The Eurofighter flights of the Neuburg Squadron in Slovakia are another visible contribution to the alliance, in addition to the security of airspace by the Patriot squadrons in Zamosc, Poland, and regular air policing missions in the Baltic States."
After delivering its last MiG-29 to Ukraine, the Slovak Air Force no longer has its own combat aircraft. They ordered 14 F-16 Block 70/72 fighters from Lockheed Martin in December 2018. The first four F-16s for Slovakia were supposed to be delivered last year. Slovak pilots are being trained in this type with the Arizona National Air Guard at Tucson Air Base.

PAF Falcons!
Fresh from international sales success in Myanmar and Nigeria, the Pakistani-Chinese JF-17 fighter jet is seeking new customers at Paris Air Show 2019 (PAS) and will fly on all days of the show beginning today.
Immediate sales prospects for the JF-17 are Egypt and Malaysia both of which are interested in the upcoming Block III version. Official delegations from both countries are expected to visit the show.
It expects customers in Asia, Africa and Latin America to be excited about an aircraft costing around $40 million but has performance and equipment like that of a 4 plus generation plane such as the Saab Gripen and F-16.
The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), where the final assembly of the aircraft is performed, has put up a stall at PAS highlighting the Block III version, the most advanced yet and comparable to the f-16 Block 70. The Block III will come equipped with an AESA radar, Aselsan targeting pods, helmet-mounted cueing system, an advanced air-to-air missile, precision air-to-ground capability, improved electronic warfare suite, missile warning system and improved avionics and communication. It will also come with and increased payload capability.
While PAC builds the fuselage, wings and some other equipment, the engine, radar and some critical sub systems are supplied by China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC). The final assembly is done at PAC.
The PAC is also preparing to ‘inform’ potential customers of the aircraft’s performance during its engagement with Indian Air Force in February when an IAF MiG-21 was shot down.
Currently, the JF-17 is in the final manufacturing phase of the Block-II version after which it will transition to Block III by early next year.

China’s version of GPS is almost complete. Here’s what that means.

On March 9, China moved into the end run of a decades-long project to build its own global navigation satellite system, a project that will make it independent of foreign rivals when it comes to a network that undergirds modern tech, business, and the military. It’s called BeiDou.
The latest satellite in the navigation system, a third-gen craft (known as BeiDou-3) now in a geostationary orbit, lifted off earlier this month from the Xichang Center in southwestern China. The system’s final satellite, scheduled for launch in May, will give it full global capability. At that point, China’s completed system will rival America’s GPS, Russia’s GLONASS, and Europe’s Galileo.
BeiDou is representative of China’s push to build and offer commercial alternatives to Western tech platforms, from servers and 5G equipment from Huawei, for example, to satellites. The system is meant to provide highly-accurate global positioning services, as well as a means to transfer limited amounts of data, for commercial and military users.
Even if it’s not yet totally complete, it’s already in use. On the business side, more than 70 percent of Chinese smartphones already use the system, according to a BeiDou spokesperson. Other reports indicate that BeiDou receivers have been integrated into over 6.5 million taxis, buses, and trucks. And as of 2019, it had more than 400 million users worldwide. Over 30 countries, largely in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, use the system, including for various projects in Indonesia, Kuwait, Uganda, Myanmar, the Maldives, Cambodia, Thailand, and Russia.
Beijing expects the size of its satellite navigation industry to surpass 400 billion yuan ($57 billion) this year, with BeiDou contributing the vast majority of that value. In the future, the Chinese government sees BeiDou and related services as a major industry, particularly for countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative, the swath of countries from Central Asia to Europe with whom Beijing has established trade, infrastructure, and debt deals to enhance its influence. This growing user base for BeiDou outside of China adds to its geopolitical and economic heft.
For the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), BeiDou acts as a domestically-controlled alternative to international systems. A cornerstone of the PLA’s modernization has been working toward being able to fight modern wars that require precision-guided weapons and advanced communication networks. Those need positioning, navigation, and timing satellites like BeiDou.
The system has already been integrated into the PLA's modern command system and weapons guidance packages for years, while units down to the level of PLA squads regularly train and deploy abroad using BeiDou individual terminals. Its completion coverage will only grow this use.
China is also beginning to export weapons systems powered by BeiDou—most prominently with its “all-weather strategic partner” Pakistan. As the only country whose armed forces use the unrestricted version of BeiDou that the PLA uses, Pakistan has purchased multiple systems that use BDS, including the JF-17 fighter.
Additionally, Pakistan’s homegrown Ra’ad-II cruise missile tested in February reportedly uses BeiDou as well as part of its effort to decrease reliance on GPS. Similar to China’s expansion into booming arms trade areas like drone sales, other countries leery of using European, Russian, or US satellite systems for security reasons may look favorably on BeiDou.
The completion of the decades-long effort is an illustration of China’s long-term strategy paying dividends in both the worlds of business and security.
