uhhh I definitely wrote half of several harry potter and lotr fanfics in HS but that was ‘the dark times’ many moons ago. so as an adult this is my only fandom! just stumbled into kpop and stumbled onto fanfics in the most backwards way possible (was sent a meme of a 1D ‘imagine’ and was like hey I wonder if they have these for kpop and then I found them and they were not a meme, but were fucking incredible AND NOW 4 YEARS LATER (started August-ish 2017???) here we are hahaha)

4. on which platforms do you post your stories?

oh dear god i just remembered I have an AO3 account..... WHOOPS, shit 😅 might need to, y’know, update that at some point. jfc adhd object permanence is something else.

5. what is your favorite genre to write?

Personally it’s sci fi/fantasy, but here in the fanfic space I’d say..... uhh slice of life, romance, angst but make it a happy ending?? fanfic is a way for me to share all the sort romantic hopeful feelings I have about love and life and friendship and purpose 💕

6. are you a pantser or a planner?

Used to be a pantser when I started this (and when fics used to be like ?? 3k-5k) now that fics in general are longer for one-shots and series my good lord I need an outline. Especially for exo mall which is *insert meme of crazy guy with the bulletin board* a lot for my brain haha

7. one shot or multi-chapter?

8. what is the perfect chapter length in your opinion?

I’d say mine are usually 5k or so?? some series were shorter per chapter, depending on subject matter. I tend to write like... interconnected long as frick oneshots, so i don’t count those as chapters ☠️

9. what is your longest published story? is it complete?

uhhhhh good question haha. my book was 95k and I think exo mall is like *dammit math* 140k or something that has significantly gotten out of hand. I have two more fics so it will probably be like 180ish when it’s done?? not including the drabbles to come haha 

10. which story did you enjoy working on the most?

I loved No Quarter and torturing Kat with her husband, also staying up all night to finish Chanyeol’s exo mall knowing kat had NO idea it was coming was a BLAST. Kyungsoo’s exo mall was one of the most ‘in the flow’ writing experiences i’ve ever had. I wrote this Baek oneshot at like 3am when i couldn’t sleep once and tbh it felt like I wrote it in a dream. ja;slkfjasd I love so many of these this is like a trip down memory lane, so I’m going to be a wh*re and say two more haha.  This is the most honest and close to ‘real life’ thing I think I’ve written on here (and also one of the only sex scenes I didn’t lose my goddamned mind trying to write a;sldkfja;sdf). And lastly Ablaze, which was the longest thing I’d written (I think) and let me know that hey? maybe I could write a book someday <3

11. favorite request you’ve have written and why (if any?)

This request for Exo Mall Baek was such a joy to write! And for some reason this Taeyong drabble makes me wish I had the time/energy to write it into a full story, it gripped me so much when I wrote it, like a movie had fully downloaded into my brain out of nowhere.

12. are there reoccurring themes in your stories?

For sure! I’d say found family is a big one. Trusting that you’ll find your place even if things don’t make sense or you feel unsure. Believing that love is worth the risk and fear of trusting someone ;laksjdfal;sd. That love can be big gestures and super intense, but that after that fades away it’s the small daily moments that matter most - the people who stay and listen when you’re sad, holding hands and forehead kisses, taking care of people when they’re sick or scared or just need company, showing up to try again or to communicate even when things are hard. 

Someone commented on a fic of mine ages ago that I helped them see that real love (of that small, daily, consistent kind) is possible and MAYHAPS I cried because underneath it all, that’s what I’d want people to take away - that love of all kinds is scary, but it’s always worth it in the end <3

13. current number of wips?

Surprisingly just ... 3? wow how time has changed hahaha. I have Jun + Baek for exo mall (plus some drabbles but that will be something people write in about, so I wouldn’t consider them wips) and then I maaaaay continute on here with the Jun + Min regency baes series. We shall see :)

14. three things you have noticed about your own writing?

1. I can’t NOT write Baekhyun as the biggest cheesy dork in the entire world 2. That I’ll always have endless fantasy world to live in. I have to try actively to not start new WIPs because it’s so damn easy to be inspired. If I’m ever bored I know that I can jump into some story and let myself be carried away for a while 3. that who and how i am in real life is not usually the same person that i am when it comes to the vibe of my writing, and that that’s totally okay <3

15. a quote you like from a published story.

“I wish it had been with someone like you, though,” you say, squeezing his hand.

“Someone like me?” he says, raising his eyebrows, waiting for an explanation.

You look down at the floor, trying to figure out how to put how he makes you feel into words. “Yeah, someone strong, and steady. And safe.”

He lets out a laugh. “Safe? That sounds awfully similar to boring.”

“No, no. You don’t understand,” you say emphatically, coming to stand fully in front of him, grabbing his other hand as well. “You never ask me to be anything but who I am. You’re patient, kind, caring. For the longest time I thought that falling in love would be stifling. That it would… I don’t know, take my independence. Take my spirit. Make me into someone I don’t recognize.”

You step closer, holding his face in your hands. “But I can’t think of anything I want more than to be with you. You make me the best version of who I am. I don’t know how it is for you, being with me. But when I’m with you, it just feels like… home,” you finish gently.

For a moment you allow yourself this weakness. It won't destroy you to admire the strong lines of his body, the intensity and focus in the set of his brows, the deep, warm color brown of his eyes as they - oh lord, he's looking directly at you. As he notices you watching him his lips press into a small smile, inclining his head towards you.

'Oh no,' you say, mortified. In a breath you've blinked and drawn your arm through Maggie's, weaving your way through the crowd and dragging her with you.

'What's wrong?' she hisses in your ear, slightly off-kilter from the drink and revelry. 'You're going to tear my arm off.’.

'Sorry, he -' With a hand you push through the front doors, gulping in the cool night air and breathing deeply to steady the erratic pace of your heartbeat. 'Maggie, what's happening to me? He looked at me and I felt so... naked. I can't explain it.'

She realizes you aren't in actual distress and laughs. 'Good. About time you fell in love. I'm delighted.'

Thank you so much. Truly, from the bottom of my heart. This fandom brought writing back into my life after such a long time away and I had no idea I would love it so much. The friends it’s brought me and the kind words that made me cry or cheered me up on a shitty day or made me laugh out loud and the watching other writers grow on their journeys. Getting to hear how something I made could help you feel less alone or less sad on a shitty day is all I’ve ever wanted from sharing all this. Thank you for being here and thank you for sharing parts of yourself with me <3

👻 What is one WIP you think you may never pick back up? @hotgirlsummersam and I started co-writing a fic for Dean's birthday back in January, but we didn't finish in time. Who knows if it'll ever see the light of day. It's a Stanford era fic about Sam getting Bobby to call Dean about a haunting on campus that just so happens to coincide with his birthday. Here's a little snippet from one of my sections (I wrote Sam, Kal wrote Dean):

Sam spent the rest of the night fitful and on edge. He kept sliding out of bed and staring out the window as if Dean might be waiting there on the pavement below. When he did finally sleep, his dreams were gauzy and oppressive, rumbling with the deep bass of the Impala's engine. He’d wake over and over and think the noise was real, like a kid who’d woken up early on Christmas in time to sneak down the stairs and see what Santa left the night before – jangling with an excitement that almost bordered on nausea.

But it wasn’t real; it was just the distant sound of the freeway, or the old radiator kicking into life, or the muffed music from the dorm below shaking through the walls.

He climbed out of bed for the last time around 3am, giving up the ghost. Instead, he sat in silence at his desk in the dark, sweat clinging to his chest, and wondered if what he was waiting for would ever actually come to pass – if he’d feel better or worse when it finally did.

👀 Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about? Not really, no. I tend to get around to publishing most of the fics I actually start writing, but I do have one that I ended up being really unhappy with that won't ever go anywhere. It's about Sam being wistful about the past while he and Dean investigate a string of cattle mutilations. Here's like the only section that has any redeeming qualities:

Which is the reason why he’s staring through the dusty windshield at the haphazard pile of about ten dead cows just inside the barnyard of Happy Moos Dairy. He’s wearing a suit that’s already making sweat collect in damp patches at his armpits and the small of his back; It’s July in New Mexico and the shitty SUV doesn’t have AC. There’s a laminated ID in his left pocket that identifies him as DVM Michael Aday, bovine specialist, CDC (Dean had snorted as they worked the alias up. “Dude. Get it? It’s Meatloaf!” Sam had tried to explain to him that they were dairy cows, but it didn’t seem to matter). In the right pocket, there's a pair of blue nitrile gloves and a container of Vicks to help with the smell. He frowns in deep dissatisfaction.

🖊 Post a snippet from a current WIP. Sorry in advance for how long this snippet is, but I'm just really vibing with this fic! I have no idea when it'll be done, but I think it might be my favorite thing I've ever written when I finally finish it! (This is a gen/pre-slash story about being an outsider and losing the last shreds of your innocence as the world puts you in terrible situations. And even still, finding love and beauty in the moments in between.)

That night, as he lay awake in his bed listening to the soft sounds of the crickets in the long grass outside, he rolled over to face the shadowy figure of his brother across the room. There were other empty bedrooms in the house, but not a single one of them batted an eyelash when Sam and Dean ended up together in the little loft at the top of the stairs that had an old porthole window overlooking the forest.

“Hey, Dean?” he whispered into the quiet.

Dean didn’t answer at first, but Sam saw him shift, settling back to look up at the ceiling with an arm flung over his head. “Yeah?”

“I found a cool place out in the woods today.”

Dean adjusted his pillow. The breeze rushed in through a missing pane in the window. “Oh, yeah?”

Sam wished he could go down to the store and buy a packet of those little glow-in-the-dark stars. It would give them something to look at when they talked like this. “Yeah,” he said. “A tire swing. Right out by the creek. It gets wide there. We could swim.”

“Sure, kid,” Dean said. Something in the attic moved above them. A squirrel, maybe. “After work, if you want.”

Dean was working at the Blockbuster in town. For thirty hours a week, he was gone – renting Titanic to old ladies and pornos to their husbands. He’d never been away so much before. Last summer, he’d just mowed lawns a couple mornings a week, but now he had a real job, and Sam was left all alone until sunset just about every night. Dad was in the house a lot, banging around under the sink or drinking beer on the porch, but he was also down at the bars just as often. And when he was home, he didn’t want to be bothered unless it was to run drills. Sam never wanted to run drills, so he avoided their father like the plague.

“Yeah.” Sam shifted until his position matched Dean’s, staring up at the ceiling and listening to the animal noises above them. “Or maybe one day when you’re off. So you can see it during the day. We could bring lunch.”

Dean huffed quietly. “Pack a picnic in that little basket on the bike, go for a swim? Sounds real good to me. Not Wednesday, though. Taking Faith into the city to see Blair Witch. She’s gonna need somebody to protect her after, so I won’t be around.”

Sam could hear the husky curl of his brother’s words and rolled his eyes. “You’re so gross, God.”

Dean laughed and turned his head to look in Sam’s direction, even though it was too dark for him to really see. “Just you wait, Sammy. Another six months and you’ll be worse than me. Us Winchester men can’t live without good pussy.”

“Ugh!” Sam grabbed the pillow from behind his head and chucked it straight at his brother. “Quit it, Dean!”

Dean grunted as the pillow hit him in the face. He did this sometimes, grossed Sam out with sex talk, tried to make him blush. Sam hated it almost as much as he hated running drills.

Sam let his head thump back against the hard mattress. “Just another reason I know we can’t be related. I’ll never be gross like you.”

Dean made a show of tucking Sam’s discarded pillow under his own and plumping it up. “Yeah, yeah, purity boy. Don’t get your panties in a twist. I know you'll actually be a virgin for the rest of your natural life, don’t worry.”

Sam sighed so loud the rustling of tiny paws in the attic stopped for a second. “You better quit or I won’t show you the tire swing.”

Dean laughed again. “Okay, okay. I take it back. You’ll get it on at a respectable age and never use the word ‘pussy’ in your life and marry the first girl you kiss just to be safe. That better?”

Sam turned over on the bed, uncomfortable without his pillow, and faced the wall away from Dean. “Just shut up and go to sleep, Dean.”

He could hear his brother adjusting in his own bed before settling down again. “Night, Sammy.”

He closed his eyes tight and let out an exasperated breath. “Night, Dean.”

Beauty and the Beast au

Loooooool what is chill This is basically just stream of consciousness ngl I just saw the new movie and thought of an angsty shallura excuse Also there’s things with the whole b & the b thing that I don’t like which I was reminded of by the movie but I’m not invested enough in actual beauty and the beast whereas my brain is currently in voltron everything mode so this is closer to canon than to (English) France Anyway…yeah Let’s see if I can correctly figure out how read more-ing works Also hopefully I’ll actually get myself to write this but in the meantime my basic ideas are here so like…spoilers on that if anyone’s wanting to read and be surprised eventually lol

(wowie this does not start coherently great yeesh I need to not reread or I’ll never post…) The castle is ‘haunted’ hah..ha Like I guess the galra got to earth before the five could get to blue and escape And haggar was like naughty champion we should get more drastic So like the four are turned into AIs? Kinda? And shiro’s galra now like the monster he doesn’t want to be but sees himself as Beauty and the Champion haaaah Haggar like…gave him a juniberry. This shit eheheheheh she’s altean and it’s like one of the last real flowers from altea in existence and like when it dies so does shiros humanity This shall come into play when the shallura interaction begins Like how the fuck do you have a juniberry you motherfucker did you destroy my planet WERE YOU THERE???? The four younger paladins just kinda…quintessence around like they’re just colors on the glowy parts of tech so like they’re not stuck as furniture per se… but they are They’ve all got favorite appliances of course (tbd) Or would it be beauty and the galra Idk I don’t like that as much And like originally gaston!lotor But I don’t know lotor as a character and like…idk it could work but I’m not feeling it Instead of townsfolk it’s resistance peeps Allura and Coran are awoken by castle defenses or something bc the paladins never got to arus And then there’s like prison escapees (and maybe malmora guys? Ehhhh idk?) but they don’t want to listen, voltron isn’t real, these two “alteans” are just crazy aliens HOH THE ATTACK ON THE CASTLE IS SHIRO AND THE PALADINS LIKE EARTH WONT BE DESTROYED IF YOU FOLLOW OUR ORDERS OR SOME SHIT AND LIKE SHIRO FEELS REALLY GUILTY GETTING THESE INNOCENT CHILDREN INVOLVED AND HIS SHITTY SPACESHIP ISN’T A GOOD HOME FOR AIS BUT THE CASTLE IS IN COMPARISON So yeah Yeeeaaaaah! Yeah. They nab Coran But then Allura’s all no not Coran I’ll do anything He’s like princess no you’re far more important leave and save the universe only you can do it! You need to collect the paladins and you have mystical royal powers and I’m just here to keep you safe anyway So of course she ejects Coran into space in a pod Gdi Allura Subsequently he’s picked up by freedom fighters but w/o Allura there’s no one to corroborate any of his claims, hence he’s just crazy Maurice Allura, hates, all galra with a burning passion She hates Shiro who’s been turned into one (not that she could know and not that he’ll tell her - he feels deserving of her hate anyway and might as well not drag humans down with him) and who ripped apart the only family she had left She doesn’t realize the AIs are humans turned into and stuck as quintessence at first Maybe haggar’s plan is to like…use them since they’re compatible with the lions but it takes a certain amount of time for them to like get absorbed into the astral plane and lose their physical forms forever or to be manipulate-able to her She’ll have them transferred to the lions eventually and just hijack the controls? Idk Like the galra have three lions now (they got blue?? I guess? Or maybe not but either way they’re for sure on earth now so it’s a matter of time) but zarkie’s probably pissed that the black lion is sealed away until the rest are there So red, blue, and black and for now since it’s sealed they don’t mind leaving Shiro to guard black Or maybe they don’t even know they have black And even then zarkon kinda needs Allura to open the hatch So like it’s important she’s kidnapped but Shiro has no idea she’s important and doesn’t report having captured her right away or something He doesn’t want to be the monster they made him into but he thinks there’s no choice He’s trying to free the kids. Save the children ahhhh Also though. The castle and Allura could point zarkon in the direction of the yellow and green lions but like eh will this come into play yet Right back on other track The townsfolk are resistance fighters They’re like. Not evil. They just don’t believe in Coran and altea and voltron (and maybe even if they do they know zarkon was the black lion or smth?) So like….there’s not really a gaston / at least not one obsessed with Allura But like…lowkey it’s Matt And like lefou is Sam Or the other way around I don’t really care But like these resilient 'human’ dudes are like leaders in this resistance And like fuck they’re going to let the galra get away with anything They got taken away from their family, might never see Katie or (shit what’s mom’s name???) again Also they took Shiro and neither (nor any of their alien compatriots) have ever seen him again Can only assume he’s dead at this point Besides it’s better than alternatives (like the truth hahahahhaha) So instead of getting married it’s like an obsession with defeating the galra? Or…something? Ah yes looked it up it’s Colleen Holt Also their dog is Gunther Just as notes here Ok cool right Um yea for like the transformation back I’m not doing this glorified Stockholm shit Sorry not sorry Basically haggar was like you have to love someone and be loved by them But like fine print you can’t truly love anyone if you don’t love yourself Like yes Shiro starts falling for Allura she’s amazing but she’s not what breaks the spell It’s the four paladins, maybe they were a bit of a mess when they got stuck in this situation and they were definitely not happy but they came to (or in Keith’s case already did) really care for Shiro and they help him learn to cope and accept himself and shit And awww they end up loving him they’d do anything for him he’s space family now They don’t blame him for the shitty situation and instead they figure out a way that they can use it to fight back and resist Maybe it doesn’t work but at least they’re 'going down swinging’ And Shiro realizes it’s not just guilt he feels for them He truly loves them too as family Even if he’s stuck as a galra for the rest of his life he’s going to fight for them and for earth and the universe and with his position he realizes he can make a difference He’s got the castle and black And the princess (of course he does let her go, prob before the mushy good feels family stuff, he might have been falling for her but he didn’t feel worthy of her anyway and he wanted better for her) So yeah the 'townsfolk’ show up after she reaches Coran and like they’re just confused Why are there more humans on this galra-infested warship? What happened to champion? Wtf even are humans? How do they manage this crazy shit? And all hell breaks loose when Matt and Sam see pidge And it gets crazier when Allura and Coran finally catch up to the resistance and get back on the castleship Alluras like who’re you people Lance: aw what babe c'mon there’s no way you don’t recognize someone this handsome (probably getting slapped and groaned at but also everyone’s just tired and relieved to be corporeal again and are glad he’s acting 'normal’ still) Allura: jfc wtf the galra created AIs that come to life???? Coran we can’t trust them it’s probably a trap And Shiro’s all no wait it’s not their fault they were stuck like that Anyway things are eventually cleared up Now they need to recover the lions Also Allura probably still has major galra trust issues which like Maybe should be addressed like haggar noticed Keith was part galra before doing the quintessence thing so everyone’s protective of him when she says something along the lines of being relieved that since shiros not galra it means all galra really are evil Something I don’t really want to leave it with her not confronting the issues not being able to cope with her planet’s destruction have caused Hm. Anywho yeah not sure if I’d want to continue at that point but the shallura would be warming up yet not fully at fruition and there’d probably be some actually-being-physical-lifeforms-again shenanigans but otherwise the open-endedness kinda works for me And shiro still learning to cope as well that ptsd ain’t just disappearing especially since he did even worse things in this au after being transformed Eventual recovering the lions and saving the universe ensues. Yay! And yeah I mean I left out like all the paladin interactions but those’re also really important to me and definitely a thing but it’s past 3am so I’m thinking I should stop now Also also the holt / resistance interactions And Coran Those too All the interactions Probably not much fight scenes just interactions those’re more my jam Wow if anyone actually read all that props to you man you just survived the wilderness of my mindscape, A+ nice job And I dunno if this has been done before or not? But yeah that’s my take on the thing.
