hey everyone, jimmy solidarity here!

joel was telling me about how he got etho to connect his mailbox on hermitcraft over here, so i decided to get one too! send in any questions you've got and ill respond to them as soon as i can :)

[ you get a letter in the mail. actually, it's less of a letter. it's a scrap of paper that seems like it's been torn out of a notebook and then shoved into the mail system immediately afterwards. the handwriting is painfully messy and there's only one word on it. ]

[What the hell? He’d better be dying, or bleeding out- anything to justify this poor excuse for a letter. I match his energy, digging some crumpled, sad bit of paper out of my draw.]

[It's a ten-foot-long shulker box, which seems to be made of several shulker shells hinged together– presumably, the only way it can fit down the mail system is by being very bendy. Anyway, it's here, and Pearl has even dyed it pink for you. A note is attached:]

Good luck with your, er, "chickens". Don't worry, it's probably safe at this point since others have gone through just fine, we'd just rather not get sentenced to skyblock prison if anything goes awry.

[She runs her finger across the shulker, pleasantly surprised at Pearl's cooperation. She chuckles at the mention of the skyblock before climbing in, putting in a stamp and sending herself off.] [The ride goes well, give for a few bumps and turns. Soon she arrives at a certain mailbox, climbing out and stretching her tensed limbs. She smiles at the person, giving them a little wave.] Hello Jimmy! @jimmys-mailbox

[Inside a neat package is a shiny, pristine diamond. It is smoothly polished and catches the light beautifully, reflecting an almost bluish light. You hold it in your hands, confused, then flip it over to reveal a slightly askew pair of googly eyes.]

[ not too much time has passed between when jimmy received guy's last letter to when he finds himself standing at the outskirts of the pale garden. it had been early in the morning when he left his base with a couple choice things in his inventory and the gifted lapis bracelet hanging off his wrist, but now, the sky is pitch black and eerie in a way that he's never really seen before. if jimmy thinks about that for too long, he'll start to get freaked out and want to go in the morning instead — which is why he turns his focus to the paper and pencil in front of him. ]

hey hey! jimmy here, as you probably can tell from the handwriting. wanted to let you know that i'm on my way – literally standing at the edge of the garden as i write this. if everything goes well (and it definitely will!) i'll be with you soon!

[ he signs the letter with a little heart and a smiley face. as he does, a crow is perched on his shoulder. that's been a common occurrence lately – ever since he got that first letter, a couple of them have been following him around. he thinks they must like his wings or something like that. regardless, he hands the note to the crow, and with one last peck at him, it flies off into the distance. ]

[ jimmy watches it for a second. it doesn't take long for it to disappear completely from sight. with a shudder, he remembers that that will be him in a minute or two — which, for some reason, makes him feel a little unsettled. but he pushes that down – it's just fog. a weird fog, sure, but still nothing to be scared of. he takes one last look at his surroundings before standing up straighter and bracing himself. ]

[ no time like the present, right? ]

[ he takes the letter in his hands, unravels it with excitement. life buzzes in his veins, joy and anticipation bubbling under his skin. he sets the letter down, and hopes - god, does he hope, he hopes that jimmy makes it here safely. the 'fog' - whatever it is, whatever it truly is, he hopes that it doesn't steal a friend from him. sure, grian's made it through safely before, but who's to say that others won't? if he can't escape, then maybe most others can't make it in. what will he do if jimmy is gone because of him? ]

[ he waits. for hours and jimmy doesn't come. something sinks into his bones. and then there's a tug. from his heart, he is tugged - there is something calling to him. ]

[ he takes his axe off of the wall, sets it in his inventory, before pushing open the door. he should've gone sooner, should've gone sooner - what will he do if jimmy is hurt? dead? what will he do? ]

[ guy sets out into the forest, familiar crows hopping onto his shoulder as he ventures in. it's dark, and usually he would never go out in this (it is watching him and he watches it. he will watch and he will make sure that everything is okay. halting breaths and anxiety eats away at his heart. it will be okay.) but it's his only option. ]

[ please be okay, jimmy, he prays, as he sets out in the direction of the pull. ]
