You're so right. If it was someone other than a BTS member, I'd say it's an ok way to hype your music but a BTS member, especially Jimin, will already have every kpop fan tuning in (probably to start a hate train whether they like the song or not) so I think they're beyond this sort of promo. If Jin is back by the time Jimin's release is happening then maybe a reaction from him? I found the opening of the vinyl edition of jitb done by 5 members semi cute (kind of boring...). Actually scratch that - the whole concept of an official reaction is kind of cringe

Also thinking back Hobi got a lot of stuff didn't he - 2 documentaries (on 2 different platforms!), 2 albums, a big western collab, hobipalooza, mama performance, vinyl release. He didn't get payola but that sort of makes sense based on his past performance though. But apart from that and the physicals which were his idea, he got a really great solo era. This is why the "Jimin is the company favourite" accusation makes me laugh. He's not the favourite at all, he's just way more successful than whoever you stan is. Same thing for "Jimin is the army favourite". He's borderline competition for most armys but again since he's successful and has a huge and hardworking solo fanbase, he gets accused of all these things

The members reacting doesn't do anything for promo either but I think it would be cute not cringe because they're in the same group, and armys would love it, but other groups reacting to the music because they have to is just a no for me.

i don’t think they ever actually gave a reason, i think ppl just said it was environmental reasons bcs of a announcement of some sort other companies (im not even sure hybe was involved) made abt trying new album formats to reduce waste. i don’t think that was ever something hybe explicitly said was a goal. i think it may have also been to promote the weverse platform but it’s so odd that like. that was his only option? bcs i think every release since then also got a weverse album with a physical, and it’s not like that would have been in response to ppl being upset abt jitb bcs physicals take a long time to coordinate :// i rly don’t know how they thought this would go down without ppl being upset like it’s so backwards that we get an actual album as an anniversary gifts…..that should have been the vinyl tbh

I try not to respond to anyone on Twitter but every single time I see that shit about ''j-hope solos boycotted JITB'' I'm no longer gonna let it slide because it's just a blatant lie and it's so tiresome that the fandom continues to try and peddle it.

Every single time I have seen Twitter ARMY dogpile a solo demanding they show they support j-hope they've come back with pictures upon pictures of their multiple Weverse albums and vinyls. I saw one woman who bought 30!!!! vinyls alone and we all know how damn expensive they were so she literally spent over $1.5k by herself to buy it that many times.

Yet if you do the same thing to a lot of these ARMY accounts, ask that they prove they bought it suddenly it's ''I don't have to prove anything to anyone'' ''I know how I support my faves'' blocks the person who asks, or goes private so they can avoid it altogether. As they proceed to make excuses to their followers to try and save whatever decent number of people that tend to back these accounts and ''know their heart'' or some shit.

I'm just sick of it. We know the numbers on JITB, it's sitting pretty under 700k nearly a year since it came out. Some of the biggest BTS fan accounts on Twitter have over a million followers, the BTS official accounts across platforms have 10's of millions of followers, BTS is said to have the largest fandom in the world, and yet a whole year later j-hope's first solo album can't even reach 1 million sales (neither has Namjoon's but I'll stay focused here).

But sure, it's TOTALLY j-hope solos fault for boycotting when by the nature of being a solo he's the only member they would even want to support...that makes total sense apparently.

Like it's one thing to just be honest maybe with ''I didn't buy it because it was too expensive'' or ''I don't really like his music so I didn't buy'' (or the truth that most of them are solos for other members) it's another to try and use a scapegoat to lie because these people are literally too afraid of the backlash from other fans because yeah, the fandom is toxic and they don't wanna deal with the reaction. So it's easier to just place blame on a smaller group who can only defend themselves because ARMY hate them anyway. It's just so incredibly mind-numbing and annoying I can't stand it.

After all the mental pressure lifting during JITB, Lolapalooza. I can see the Teens and Hendrix wanting to be on Hobis side, because he was so emotional tired and drained, Hendrix slept with him in the Hotel Bed because he never left his side. After they got back Home from the US, the kids went to their Grandparents, and Mama Jung suprised Hobi with a Spa Day, they did Masks, put on some vinyls, Hobi got a foot massage, they cooked some mexican dinner. Hobi was still so tired to have a properly fuck, so he got a cuddly handjob from his favorite position snuggled up in Mama Jungs Tits, while she sits behind him.

His family definitely would’ve helped him relieve that stress 😌
