OK OK JJBA DRAGON AU LORE DUMP. FINALLY DOING THIS. Leaving my copy pasted discord messages under the cut there is a Decent Amount. This is all pt2 for now bc I'm Normal

Anything in purple are Kirsten's messages bc I was talking abt it with her to calm myself for my exam results. Ok so. First I'm gonna talk abt the Pillar Men and how I designed them (only in my head I have not drawn them yet)

Like I've said before they've [The Pillar Men....dragons?] got front facing horns

Did that bc I'm planning for them lore-wise to be very subterranean

They also don't have wings for this reason 👍

Kars DOES end up getting wings when the Ultimate Lifeform stuff happens, and they are feathery like in canon

The whole vampirism stuff is the same, they cannot go out in the sun or. Poof

I also. Don't know where to put the Joestar birthmark on the designs. I feel like having them on the shoulder is like. Too off in my head?

I could go with a muzzle design but idk if that'd give Joseph enough leeway to speak and that without causing the mask to like. Not work yk

Yeah also. About the Pillar Men. I think it'd be funny if they could just. Be able to walk on two legs like a human being tbh. It would set them apart and also be very creepy in the setting bc. They would be the only ones to be able to do that

Whammu is easy bc. Boom make him stand on 2 legs and he can do the Divine Sandstorm like he does in canon

Bc like. The whole fight between Joseph and Esidisi would be different bc I'm NOT putting that goofy hat on Joseph. How would it even fit the horns would get in the way

Introducing my JJBA Mythical AU!

Yes I have done this in the past with my KH mythical AU but! My mythical AU can be put to many different fandoms so of course I had to make a Jojo one. I actually drew out the main JoJos and JoBros as mythics YEARS ago that I didn’t share on here (and never will) but now I’m redrawing it for myself starting with my favorite part, Golden Wind

Fugo and Giorno Manga colors and explanations for why the characters are the mythics they are in detail under the cut :3

Giorno: Shapeshifter - A pretty strong start for Giorno but he has a lot of different Mythic DNA at play here with Centaur, Vampire and Harpy just to name a few so it makes sense, his favorite forms to be in is a Dear Syter, Rosy Maple Moth and a Dragon

Mista: Werewolf - due to his friendly and loyal nature it only felt natural to make Mista a werewolf, I based him off of a german shepherd but I’m up to feedback if that not the best choice

Narancia: Harpy - plane stand flys so Narancia must fly, simple as that. in this world there are two types of harpies, wings on the back and wings on the arms, Narancia is an arm winged Harpy

Bruno: Mermaid/Merman - Being the son of a fisherman and his knowledge of sea birds didn’t make this decision very hard to make, Bruno was practically made to be a Mermaid… his color palette did give me a bit of trouble lol

Abbacchio: Dragon - Coldblooded yet warm on the inside? Yeah he needed to be a dragon, but in this world Dragons are very rare due to poaching in the ‘20s for their scales especially if they had pretty colors, Abbacchio didn’t tell anyone that he was a Dragon, not even Bruno

Fugo: Syter/Ram - it seemed fitting to make fugo not only one of the more stereotypically angry animals but also an animal often associated with demons and hell cause let’s be real Fugo has probably been called a “Demon” or “Hell Spawn” before, plus I also like drawing hooves

HEY GUESS WHO HAS JJBA BRAINROT.

I came up with this idea with JJBA in my mind and I was also writing a HTTYD request. So here's my AU idea...

(Yandere) JJBA Dragon Rider AU.

Instead of Stands every character has a Dragon. The dragon is based off their stand and keeps the same name. Of course... not all characters and stands work for this concept but most of the main ones do.

For example... Jonathan can't have a dragon and Joseph wouldn't really get one until later. (Think a purple dragon with brambles coming off it?)

Stands that evolve have their dragon change. Although I assume you have to make Star Platinum color changing since he can never have a consistent color pallette ever.

Of course every JoJo from Jotaro upwards has a dragon.

Same thing with villains, DIO only gets a dragon during Part 3. (Maybe he found The World's egg in Part 1, idk)

Dragons keep the powers of the stand they're based on too!

I really want to discuss JJBA so damn bad, omfl.... I used to write for it all the time but now I have to regrow a following for it as that's not what I'm known for on here.

No, I'm not giving Goku Star Platinum, and Vegeta isn't getting The World. I want to give them their own unique Stands, and I already have an idea for Goku's.

Word of advice thought: Be very careful with the stands's power balance and limits 'cause with how powerful Goku and Vegeta got in Dragon Ball, giving them a stand without some balance risk to make them way too OP!

For their Stands since Goku and Vegeta are warriors and love to brawl I think they would have close-range power type of stands.

Alright, since I've been encouraged by @razumairon and I've been thinking about this for a While, Bucci Gang in a D&D setting!

(My thoughts on La Squadra can be found over here)

Giorno: Half-elf, Circle of Shepherds Druid-- yeah, Giorno, druid; sky, blue; water, wet; I'm not sure what anyone was expecting. Bucciarati: Sea elf! I've made jokes before about him being an Archfey Warlock and his vibes also suit Paladin (Oath of Devotion, maybe?) but I think, ultimately, I like the thought of him being a Bard--College of Lore to be specific. ... And for those of y'all who watch Tulok's Building Character yes I got that idea from him, but listen. If it works it works. And then you swap in the Reborn lineage halfway through the campaign-- okay, no, I'm kidding about that part. Abbacchio: Lineage-wise I don't think I settled on anything specific for him (I feel like there's a bunch of arguments you could make for various ones for him) but what I am very solid in is him being a Knowledge Cleric! (He tried the Paladin thing and it didn't work out.) Narancia: ... Honestly, I like the idea of him also being a half-elf (maybe half-Eladrin?), but regardless, he's a Drakewarden Ranger. Yes, his little dragon spirit buddy would be Aerosmith. Fugo: Fallen Aasimar, Way of Mercy Monk-- Now, before y'all say anything about that particular subclass, hear me out: the Hands of Harm feature to inflict necrotic damage, and the Physician's Touch feature, which lets him inflict the Poisoned condition on something he hit with Hands of Harm. It's The Vibes. Trish: Tiefling, College of Glamour Bard. Specifically, she's a Bloodline of Glasya Tiefling, since Glasya's the one I can easily see Diavolo having dealings with. Mista: Human, Champion Fighter. I don't know what y'all expected.

I had been meaning to draw him as a dragon months before I got this ask and this was the thing that finally got me to do it thank you anon

Anyways. The guy (with a little planning doodle on the side I forgot to erase)

Now to explain my process for the design here, because I'm insane.

Let's start with the hair. Joseph's hair can't really be translated into spines on a back that well. Hair doesn't really translate that well at all. So I opted to lessen the "spikes" to 1, instead of the usual 3. The spines are also all joined instead of separate like I usually do them, to try keep the feel of soft and flowy hair. Also, because I am insane, I decided to make sure this design was reminiscent of. Crash Bandicoot. Yeah I've seen people joke about how similar human Joseph and Crash are so to help keep dragonseph fitting I also used Crash as a reference. This makes sense to me. Understand.

He's a classic European dragon (2 wings, 4 legs) for many reasons. You'd think I'd go with a wyvern bc of flying, but. The limb loss. I have no idea how the loss of a wing via severing would work. Nothing to go off of for it. "Oh but Nibwhip it's just a single drawing" I have thought about this world in great detail and will likely draw more in the future. I'm planning accordingly. I also think it just fits him bc. European (British. I think being British counts as being European? Idk), as well as the limbs. He can run much better than a wyvern can you know?

Horns. First of all I've been thinking about the Pillar Men here and designing Joseph accordingly. This sounds odd but. Humans and Pillar Men are different species, different physical characteristics. Same must apply for dragons here, except more visible bc I didn't like too much how the Pillar Men were in canon (too human). I've already confirmed in my mind palace that the Pillar Men (...Pillar Dragons? Yeah let's go with that) will have front facing horns, for many reasons I will elaborate on in a separate, later post. So, normal dragons will always have horns facing the other way (maybe other ways too. But mostly pointing back like that). I've also made em big and fat here to make em look solid. I didn't want to draw him as buff as humanseph, but I still needed to get across that feeling of strength. So boom. Get these chunky horns on your head dude

Now. Colours. Probably were expecting like. Green and yellow/purple for this, right? Those are colours he wears, not just...his hair colour. I went with the brown anyways, not just for the hair colour though. Back to strength. Brown's a nice earthy colour. Quite solid. I don't know enough about colour theory here but. I can ASSURE you that if I had done this in green or purple he would've felt a lot scrawnier. Brown's also a warm, welcoming colour. If that makes sense. Makes sure he still feels friendly and good despite the design change and all the things I did to make him look strong. Also with vibrant colours like green and purple it's harder to make a hypothetical oldseph version of this design. But here the brown also works it's an "old" colour. You know. Like a worn leathered cover to a book or smth. The brown works I assure you.

I also gave him "eyebrows" bc a Joseph without thick as hell eyebrows isn't a Joseph to me. Very defining part of his design tbh I HAD to get it in there.

More on that AU of the Zeppeli family as dragons:

One day, Caesar swims in his dragon form in the river, hunting for some prey. Eventually, he comes across a human--Joseph Joestar--who is also fishing for lunch, but he sees humans as potential prey and goes to attack.

But Joseph is a pretty clever human and outsmarts Caesar here and there, barely dodging his frantic thrashing and even catching his snout in fishing nets and ropes so he can’t snap and bite anymore. Humiliated at being outdone by his food, Caesar had no choice but to shift back into a humanoid form and argue with Joseph. He couldn’t believe that a human got the upper hand on him! He was supposed to be the apex predator.

But deep down, this moment instilled a bit of respect in Caesar for Joseph and other humans. He had been wrong to underestimate them before, so when he goes hunting again and inevitably moves up on Joseph on the river, Joseph is ready to ensnare him just like he does with his fish. So it becomes this cat and mouse game, each battling to be the hunter trapping the hunted until it fizzles out into something resembling a game, where Caesar no longer desired to eat Joseph and simply enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. Eventually, Joseph too sensed something different about that strange river beast, and time after time, their encounters ended in draws.

Dare I say, that was the beginning of a very unusual and unlikely friendship.

Toast my love!! Dragon Risotto beloved…. Big, intimidating dragon man with a gentle heart of gold once you get to know him 🥺

Risotto is a large, black dragon. His scales have an almost pearly luster to them, with glimmers of red and the occasional silver mingled into the inky black. His long, impressive tail has bands of white, giving it a striped appearance, and his eyes are a piercing red. The spines along his tail have a metallic gleam.

Dragon Risotto is a protective, loyal mate who loves you dearly. You can sense a quiet and unwavering affection in everything he does for you. He was apologetic at first when he had to bring you back to his lair, but surely you understand why he can’t afford to take chances? He’s pleasantly surprised when you seem to understand his need to protect his eggs. There’s a twinge of sadness in his voice when he tells you that poachers killed his previous mate, and he can’t risk the same for the eggs.

However, he's been on his own for a while now, and he won’t pretend he doesn’t hold a deep adoration for you. You’re kind, kinder than other humans he’s met, and you fascinate him. He gathers soft materials for you to sleep on: animal pelts, bits of cloth, whatever will keep you warm and comfortable. If you feel comfortable enough over time to sleep nestled close under his wing…. Risotto is immensely touched, as you can guess from the soft rumbling, almost a purr, you can hear as he pulls you close.

Risotto feels a protectiveness of you, especially once you’ve agreed to be his mate. He does have to leave the den from time to time to hunt, but he always ensures you’re comfortable and safe before he heads out. You could almost swear he seems shy, or as bashful as Risotto gets, when he presents you with courting gifts. He brings you gems he finds, gold or jewelry dropped by travelers or from his own hoard, soft wool to rest your head on and keep you comfortable. He places these things at your feet, or hesitantly helps you put on jewels he’s brought once he asks your permission.
