At long last I finally revive Steps of the Survivor from the grave! Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted a chapter, scheduling a time with my coauthor and finding motivation to write this one was not my friend

Happy birthday to Ethan Hunt for this chapter! Me and my coauthor actually finished this on the 11th but I figured why not wait for the 15th and really make it thematic?

so my friend @burnt-toast-life and I talked about their Warrior Cats AU, and after that, somehow the motivation in me spawned an entire reference for Algernon. If someone could answer how motivation works, I can’t figure it out, help me!

I got requests from some friends on discord (and @burnt-toast-life) with this expression meme and it was super fun to go from fluff to weird to heart-wrenching angst. I’m still up for doing more so feel free to send requests if you’d like!

Notes: for the Rainbow one, for those of you who aren’t fully versed in their emotion colors, this one is flustered, and the expression was somehow basically the face I make when people compliment me lol

I heard this was the year of the rat, and it made me remember all the times Algernon has been associated with the story called “Flowers for Algernon”

What better to do with a casual day than research flowers and connect them to a character? (all of them actually have purpose and meaning this time! The flowers in this picture are as follows; red carnation, anenome, forget me not, hollyhock, and black eyed susan)
