My new front door has finally arrived and I couldn’t be happier. From concept to design to install it’s been over a year. Handmade custom glass from Germany in the diamonds. Mouth blown glass from New Brunswick in the rounds of the transom. Door made of mahogany on the south shore of Nova Scotia. Rhubarb is one of my favourite things. Stewed, baked, roasted, in pies, cocktails and even in bbq sauce but I’d never really considered it’s beauty as a cut flower. What?!?!?! Yes! When my neighbour @dollyhancock arrived at my door with this giant bunch of rhubarb I was so taken with the foliage I couldn’t just chop off the greens and cook the stems. I wanted to celebrate the rhubarb as it was. Shown off in a simple cylindrical vase the red stems and the ruffled lush leaves look absolutely exotic and luxurious but simple and pure as a country walk. The scale is Jurassic! Im@now planning a cocktail party based on rhubarb!!!!
