How CBS uses same actors in different roles-
-Dane Daniels is a financial general manager that is suspected for the kidnapping of one of his workers wife, and appears in the episode Dead Air (4x21) on CSI : Miami.
-Josh Bedford is the rector of Rockland University, near to Granview. He appears in some episodes of S5 on Ghost Whisperer. He works for the Shadows, evil non human dark forms, to save his mother; then the Shadows kill him, because he isn’t able to recover The Book of Changes.
-Father Davison is a priest, friend of David Rossi, who appears in the episode Demonology (4x17) on Criminal Minds.
-Avery Tindsdale is a wealty father of a kidnapped woman, with a not so clear past, who appears in the episode Father of the Bride (20x11) on CSI : Crime Scene Investigation.
So, poor Bruce Davidson, his characters are almost always (except when he played the priest) contaminated by dark shades.

A 39 year old HIV+ trans activist was caught in a pedo sting trying to solicit a minor
A prominent trans rights and HIV activist was arrested in New York City this month after allegedly attempting to meet a 14-year-old for sexual abuse.
Lailani Muniz, 39, was caught in a predator sting conducted conducted by Fred Medina of NY Creeps Spotlight, a non-profit child safeguarding organization seeking to expose adults who wish to abuse children.
Muniz is a well-known trans rights and HIV activist in the city, and has been regularly featured in LGBT and news media. In December of 2021, Muniz was profiled by EDGE Network, an online gay news outlet, which promoted his work with the HIV Planning Board for the State of New York. Last year, Muniz was interviewed in a VICEdocumentary on HIV/AIDS.
Muniz, who is HIV positive, was a spokesperson with Amida Care, a New York nonprofit health insurance organization which states its goal is to serve “people living with HIV/AIDS; people who are experiencing homelessness … and people of transgender experience…” Muniz was also a member of the ‘HIV Stops With Me‘ campaign.
His footprint in community social organizations is extensive, and in addition to his advocacy on HIV-related issues, Muniz was well-known for his trans rights activism.
He was the Chief Operations Officer for the New York Transgender Bodybuilding Federation (NYTBF), one of the first trans-focused sporting companies of its kind. According to Muniz’s profile on the NYTBF official site, he also worked as a Trauma Informed Care Specialist at the Damian Family Care Center, and had volunteered with both CK Life and Princess Janae Place & Destination Tomorrow where he was “aiding in gender affirming surgeries.”
Earlier this year, he was honored by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson at an LGBT Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bronx County Courthouse. Gibson presented Muniz with a certificate of merit.
But on October 20, Muniz was arrested after being caught in NY Creeps Spotlight’s sting. Predator hunter Fred Medina had established a profile on gay dating app Grindr advertising to be a 14-year-old child named “Josh.”
Muniz contacted “Josh’s” profile, and engaged in sexual conversations even after acknowledging the teen’s age. In screenshots of the Grindr conversations posted to NY Creeps Spotlight’s Instagram, Muniz texts “Josh” a message expressing a joking hesitancy.
“I can’t front, I am nervous … I watch too much TV [because] I know you’re young, it reminds me of that show To Catch a Predator where they set people up attracted to minors.”
In another screenshot, Muniz sends “Josh” a photo of himself donning what appears to be an erection.
According to Bronx Times, Muniz eventually arranged to meet “Josh” at an apartment building in Bedford Park on October 20, and had reportedly encouraged “Josh” to bring a condom. Police arrested Muniz at after being alerted to his location by Medina.
NY Creeps Spotlight uploaded a video of their sting to YouTube on October 27, featuring 20 minutes of engagement with Muniz.
In the video, Medina asks Muniz why he arrived to the meet-up location, and advises him he is “Joshua.” Muniz initially attempts to deny everything Medina is saying about the meet-up’s intended purpose, stating he told “Josh” he was not going to have sex with him due to his age. Medina rapidly refutes the claim by reminding Muniz he has the Grindr chat logs.
After identifying him by his title as a transgender activist, Muniz attempts to deny he is a spokesperson for transgender people, and rejects Medina’s assertion that he had done anything illegal. He begins to walk away, and is pursued by Medina. When Medina phones the police, Muniz begins to pick up his pace significantly, making a clear effort to get away from Medina.
The video concludes with NYPD arriving, and Medina showing them the chat logs. Muniz is arrested on the spot.
Muniz is facing four charges including attempted sexual abuse, misconduct and endangerment of minor and was released on his own recognizance. His court date is reportedly set for December 2.
Muniz is not the first prominent transgender activist arrested this year on charges related to child sexual abuse.
In May, Reduxx reported that a migrant trans activistwhose harrowing story of gender identity discrimination was featured in The New York Times was facing over one dozen felony charges related to the sexual abuse and extortion of a teenage boy.
Carlos Arturo Aparicio Hernandez, 36, was charged with aggravated sexual extortion and six counts of forcible sodomy as first-degree felonies, and three counts of forcible sexual abuse, enticing a minor, and five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor as second-degree felonies.
Hernandez is still in custody in Salt Lake County Prison, and is being recorded as a “female” inmate.
By Anna Slatz Anna is the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief at Reduxx, with a journalistic focus on covering crime, child predators, and women's rights. She lives in Canada, enjoys Opera, and kvetches in her spare time.

Stuff I'm Looking Forward To in April
Welcome to the 2nd quarter of 2024! In addition to April Fools Day (April 1), Eid al-Fitr (April 9-10), Patriots Day / Marathon Monday (April 15 in MA), Tax Day (April 15), Earth Day (April 22), Passover (April 22-30), Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day (April 24) and there's also a solar eclipse on April 8, here is what's on my radar this month:
Movies:
Coup de Chance
Not sure if I'm "looking forward to this", but I'm curious about Woody Allen's new one as he has hinted this would be his last. Whatever your opinion is of Woody Allen, as a filmmaker he has made some solid films. Opens 4/5.
Civil War
Alex Garland has had a mixed bag as a writer/director with Ex Machina being his best so far. His new one has been creating quite a buzz about a dystopian not-so-far future where journalists try to make it to D.C. before rebels descend on the White House. No coincidence this is being released during an election year. Opens 4/12 (review to come).
Challengers
What got my attention about this tennis drama wasn't star Zendaya, director Luca Guadagnino or the score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. It's the fact that it was filmed in Massachusetts and more specifically it filmed a little in Bedford, where I grew up. Opens 4/26 (review to come).
Music:
Pearl Jam Dark Matter
Pearl Jam's 12th studio album is finally year. The band's last album was 2020's Gigaton, which I noted was their best album since their 2006 self-titled album. I'm digging what I've heard so far and hopes are high for this one! Album drops 4/19. (Review to come).
Bruce Springsteen Best of Bruce Springsteen
The Boss has released a number of compilations over the years, his 1995 Greatest Hits being among my favorites. Now there's a new compilation with 18 hits ranging from 1973 to 2020. Album drops 4/19 (review to come).
St. Vincent All Born Screaming
St. Vincent is back with her 7th studio album. This one features appearances by numerous guests including Dave Grohl and Josh Freese of Foo Fighters. Album drops 4/26.
TV:
Curb Your Enthusiasm finale
I've been enjoying Season 12 of Larry David's social assassin. This is the final season (or so they say) and the season/series finale is set to air on HBO on 4/7. End of an era!
Conan O'Brien Must Go
I'm a huge fan of Conan O'Brien, going back to Late Night with Conan O'Brien (read my memories of attending his show here) and since then he's bounced back from the Tonight Show debacle with a great run on TBS and his fun podcast. Now he's back with a travel show meeting fans all over the world! Series premiere on 4/18 on Max!
Fake Holidays:
Record Store Day
The day we celebrate independently owned and operated record stores is one of my favorite holidays of the year! It's on 4/20 this year!
Independent Bookstore Day
Not to be outdone, independent bookstores get their day of celebration on 4/27.
Film Festivals:
Salem Horror Fest
I have been lucky enough to cover this genre film festival in Salem, MA since 2018. This year they are hitting some venues beyond Salem as well. Fest runs from 4/25 to 5/5!

The pub bosses that closed their kitchens to stay afloat
Ypres Castle Inn
By Josh Martin
Business reporter
In the kitchen at the Ypres Castle Inn in Rye, tables and chairs are stacked where a chef used to cook meals.
Jeff Bell is one of many landlords turning away from serving food to save money on energy, wages and ingredients.
Family favourites like fish and chips, steaks and roast dinners were once hailed as money-makers for pubs.
But industry data suggests drinks-only pubs, which are owned by a chain, had stronger sales than gastropubs for every month of 2022.
Hospitality as a whole is grappling with soaring prices and staff shortages. An average of 32 pubs closed per month last year in England and Wales, according to government figures.
A kitchen used only for preparing cheeseboards, scotch eggs and charcuterie platters means Mr Bell can keep a lid on expenses.
It looks to be paying off – profits for 2022 at his independent pub were “close to the best years we had before the pandemic”, he said. December was his best month of sales on record, he added.
The restaurants shrinking their menus to survive
Regulars Bob and Jane have just finished a platter of cold cuts and open a packet of crisps.
“They do really, really good bar snacks here, ” she said.
“There are plenty of places we can get a meal, we know we can’t here, and we accommodate that,” said Bob.
Chris Parry
Chris Parry, who runs the drinks-led pub The Three Cups in Bedford bought the lease for his site from brewery company Greene King in 2021, at the end of the Covid lockdowns.
He has to buy some keg beers and ciders, and mixers off from Greene King well as pay rent.
He said while he once needed to sell £700 of food per week to break even, that figure has ballooned to around £2,500 – so he got creative.
He allows punters to order from local restaurants and eat their meals at The Three Cups with one of his brews instead.
“Ten years ago it was food, food, food – that was how we were told to make money. Now for smaller pubs it’s just not worth it,” he said.
If no one comes we close early, says pub
Back at the Ypres Castle Inn, Mr Bell said pub managers who are tied to buying alcohol from the big pub landlord companies had often switched focus to full menus as a way of having more control over their profit margins – but now the cost of that commitment has soared.
“It was expensive then. It would be utterly unaffordable now,” he said.
Mr Parry is able to sell some of the beer from his other business, Kelchner Brewery.
Behind the bar, Zoe Capsey says the trend towards craft beer and local brands has allowed the pub to attract punters.
“Having a lot of craft beers on tap is massive now. People want pale ales and all that stuff that wasn’t that popular back then, when it would be groups of old men all drinking the same pints.”
Mixed picture
Data for the industry, compiled by CGA, showed that pub revenues were back above 2019 levels, but the gains were being eaten up by soaring inflation.
Drinks-only pubs, where food might be limited to crisps or maybe a pork pie, had sales growth that outstripped those of food-led gastropubs for every month of 2022 in the ‘managed’ sub-sector where pub companies own and run the site.
Data from the CGA for the last three months of 2022, found nearly nine in ten pub closures occurred in the independent sector.
It said this indicated that even if pub managers have control over their kitchens and can shop around to bargain on wholesale drink prices, independents like the Ypres Castle Inn may be outliers going against a worrying trend.
Higher energy costs, food prices and a difficulty finding and retaining staff contributed to the closures.
Nick MacKenzie, boss of Greene King, which owns around 2,700 pubs, restaurants and hotels said it was “inevitable” that menu prices will continue to rise this year, if food inflation continues at its current level.
He told BBC Radio 5Live’s Wake Up to Money programme he understood why some smaller operators may be switching to being drinks-led.
“Particularly when you see food price inflation being what it is now,” but his company won’t be turning away from a full menu offering.

Movie Reviews: Sasquatch Sunset / Challengers
This week I got to review a knockout...and a letdown.
Sasquatch Sunset
movie poster
I'm just going to do a brief mini-review of this one. When I heard there was a sasquatch movie that starred Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough, both great actors, I was intrigued. When I saw the movie Sasquatch Sunset about a sasquatch family over the course of a year with no dialogue but tons of sound effects and scatological humor, I was bored out of my mind. It could have been anyone under that costume and makeup. It felt like a bizarre stoner student film that plays well with an audience at midnight based on the audience making fun of it. I wanted to like this and I was highly disappointed.
For info on Sasquatch Sunset
2 out of 5 stars
Challengers
Every sport has it's official movie, the one that is consider to be the best [insert sport here] movie of all time, i.e. for hockey it's Slap Shot, for basketball it's Hoosiers, etc. But there really hasn't been an official tennis movie. Wimbledon? Not really. I consider the best tennis movie until now to be The Squid and the Whale because the opening scene of the family playing tennis told you everything you needed to know about the family through their playing in that game. But now Luca Guadagnino has made the best tennis movie of all time with Challengers. What got my attention about this movie wasn't the director of Call Me By Your Name or the Suspiria. Or the star being It Actress of the moment Zendaya. It was that when they were filming it in Massachusetts in 2022, they filmed a key tennis location at Wedgewood, a private tennis and swim club in Bedford, MA. I grew up in Bedford so the fact that a big Hollywood movie was filming there got my attention. When I was 10, a friend whose family were members of Wedgewood invited me to go swimming with them. Can't believe that same place was now a key location for a tennis tournament. But I digress!
The film is about a love triangle set in the world of tennis over the course of thirteen years. We start in 2019 at a regional tennis tournament where Tashi (Zendaya) is watching her husband Art (Mike Faist of the 2021 West Side Story remake) compete against Patrick (Josh O'Connor of The Crown). Back in 2006 Art and Patrick were best friends. After a tournament they meet Tashi who was a tennis prodigy at the time. Both guys are attracted to her. She has a relationship with Patrick and later is married to Art, who she is now coaching. That's about all I can say without getting into plot spoilers.
actual movie poster and the photo booth poster where Zendaya is watching me!
As intense as the tennis scenes are, the genius in this movie is that it's really about the love triangle and these three characters. They each have their own motives towards the others, what they want and how they want the other(s) to go along with that agenda. It's not just two guys lusting after an attractive woman, it's also two guys manipulating each other at various times in their life. But it's all in the eyes, especially Zendaya, who is keeping a poker face most of the time. And it's sexy as hell without a single sex scene in the entire movie. Serious credit goes to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's score, which is their best film score since Gone Girl! Without getting into spoilers, the ambiguous ending is going to piss off some viewers. I didn't mind it as it was a film more about the journey and not so much the ending. At over 2 hours and 11 minutes it is a little longer than it needs to be. But let's just celebrate the return of the sexy grow-up movie which has been away for a while from Hollywood!
