Okay I was talking with R about this last night but I'm rotating May and October in my head rn because here's the facts:

- October is the reason Mirrors is dead. This was done using the marvellous winning in some way

- October has some form of power over dreams and sleep as well

- May and October are still regularly in contact, shown in The Bloody Wallpaper (and May is also scared of her. Good)

- May is also a marvellous player

blanca had not expected a good reaction, this wasn't something one imagined when simply dating someone, but to be called a cheat was not exactly what she had expected. "i can't recall a conversation about exclusivity. i'm sorry if you feel like i betrayed you, but i didn't think that you considered us exclusive." she admitted, somewhat confused but trying to be understanding of her point of view.

"i just wanted you to have all the information about me. i am who i am. i like what i like." she said with a shrug. Angel had figured out that Valentino had some sort of deal running with the ring of Greed for a while now, something mutually beneficial that had partially resulted into more creative ways to get fucked over, courtesy of their expanded audience now also including hellborns from all across the Greed ring. Angel had heard about those Fizzarolli sex bots and quite frankly he doesn't want to ask if they'd ended up doing something similar for him. He really doesn't want to know.

But what he hadn't expected was to see an actual sin coming down the hallway, taking up most of it to boot and then throwing out a comment like that just before they crossed one another. He'd been looking, of course he had been. After all, it's not every day you see an actual Sin in Pentagram City…

"Wait, what—?" It slips out before he can even think about minding his tongue around someone like that. Besides, the guy was huge and intimidating, but the Aussie accent kinda killed the whole big and powerful sin vibe. Like if he was just another guy— One that could flatten you, granted.

Once he processes what the other is saying he's genuinely almost speechless, a hand extending subconsciously as if to ask him not to leave quite yet and explain that statement to him because, what the fuck?!

Okay, okay, can you blame him for short-circuiting when you've been suffering for decades on end and nobody cared to lift a finger, but your boss' business partner who shouldn't give a shit takes one look at you and just… Knows. Somehow feeling so seen is both a shock to the system and somewhat uncomfortable to him, being so unaccustomed to it. Why would Mammon even care?

"But, I— I'm a sinner. I couldn't even go ta yer ring even if I wanted to…" He mutters, looking up at the other and questioning because what else is he supposed to do when such a tantalising offer is laid down in front of him? Granted it could also get worse under Mammon instead and ain't anyone dumb enough to pick a fight with an actual Sin so there's quite a bit of risk there too but…

Mammon had simply known exactly what to say to catch his attention and keep it, just a few words and he was drawn in, curious and hoping against hope that this might be something, an escape, a way out— Surely he wouldn't be strung along just to be kicked back down a second time?

"come on, kid." howl pokes josie's shoulder, rolling her eyes as he steps forward. "we've made no progress for however long it's been, worst case scenario is we have to fight the pumpkin kids. just get in the cart with me."

Sitting here writing, and wondering 'which character is the one holding the posse together'... first thought was

they were fighting about something. josie didn't really remember how it had escalated. one moment they were texting early in the morning and the next she was banging at pj's bedroom window, looking exasperated, waving her arms up in the air. she mouths something, but she knows for a fact that the other woman can't understand her. but she's desperate, knowing deep down that maybe it was a little bit too far to make a joke about isabel being her new best friend. but in josie's mind, it was warranted when pj had been the one making comments about her love life.

the window finally opens and josie is predicably out of breath. she clears her throat, letting herself be face to face with her friend as she climbs through into the room. "took you long enough. what if it was cold out there? what if i froze because of you?" she's dramatic. it was a hot summer day, but her point still stood. "i was screaming my heart out and you didn't hear me." josie dramatically sighs, walking over to the bed and flopping down on it. "i missed you."

While I'm talking bout Maighread I really need to think on how Gabriel feels about his niece. On one hand everything is still pretty awkward family wise (and the approaching realization re: the not aging thing is slowly creeping in)

But. I think by the time Maisie is born he's probably.... not fully adjusted, but learning too. It honestly might be easier for him to bond with his niece then with his sister simply on the premise that's there no past *expectation* for that relationship

There's nothing he's missing, nothing he's forgotten, nothing here that he could never live up to. Just a new family member he can watch grow up......
