気がついたら、初投稿を4月に行って以来、何も更新してませんね。。もう年末です。 このブログの読者はいらっしゃらないと思いますが、どうも、今日は。

久しぶりの投稿がADVENTARで行なわれている企画で、 今年読んだ論文の中で一番好きなものを紹介する、という内容。 関係のない���や意味のわからん方には申し訳ないです…… そして、この企画に参加されている他の皆様がすごく丁寧に解説されていますが、 私は恥ずかしいクオリティです。本当に、なぜ参加したんだか。 ぐだぐだ言っていても仕方がないので、サクッとですがご紹介します。 ＃いつも通り、気がついたらあとからどんどん修正しますので、ご了承ください。

2014年にNucleic Acids Researchから出たもので、 Exosomes in human semen carry a distinctive repertoire of small non-coding RNAs with potential regulatory functions というタイトル。 母乳にexosomeが含まれていることは知られていますので、精液中に存在してもおかしくはありません。 いや、そもそもexosomeってなんじゃい！という方もいらっしゃるかと思いますので簡単に説明しますと、 "細胞間の情報伝達を仲介する小胞"です。＃exomeではありません。 exosomeの中にはDNAやRNAなど、実に様々なものが含まれています。 exosomeの細かな定義は未だ議論が行われており、 最近では統一してextracellular vesicle(EV)という表現をするようにしている団体や論文もあります。

話を論文に戻して。 この論文では、6名の精液中exosomeのRNAシークエンスを行い、解析しています。 本文を読むとY RNAやtRNAやmiRNAについての詳細な解析結果が書かれていますが、横に置いておいて。 さて、今回のsampleは上記の通り、精液です。 精子の役割というのは卵子と出会い、受精を行うという子孫繁栄のための大事なものですが、 卵子の元へとたどり着くのはそう簡単なことではありません。 酸性下の中を突き進むには、私は単純に、精子が団体で行動（？）することで周りが死んでも誰かがたどり着ければ、 という安易な考えを持っていました。 しかしながら、この論文によると、精液中のexosomeにあるtRNAには翻訳抑制に関わるものが含まれていた。 つまり、精液には受精を成功させるために(膣)粘膜の免疫細胞へ何かしら働きかけているかもしれません。 一方的に死滅していくだけじゃなかったんだ！と、ひどく感銘を受けました。

私の興味はexosomeないしEVにあるのですが、単純にcell-cell communication��一口に言っても、 ある組織のある細胞から遠くにある細胞へと情報を伝達するのも、 がん細胞が放出するのも、EVが少なからず関わっているとされています。 電子顕微鏡でないと確認できないサイズであるにもかかわらず、実に様々な役割を担うEV。 丸くて小さな世界には、まだまだ知らないことがたくさんあると思っています。 って、なんだか、論文紹介ではなくて、自分の研究の興味の話なりました。 すみません。。
