#jungle carpet python

This is my jungle Carpet Python, Dolores. I adopted her from a friend 9 years ago. She is a very vocal snake (aka she makes a lot of noise because she's fussy and doesn't like to be handled all that much). Snakes don't have vocal chords, but they can make a lot of hissing, bubbling, sighing, huffing noises. (She has a messed up jaw birth deformity so sometimes she can't keep spit in her mouth 🤷‍♀️)

So basically she inspired how my Ghouls verbally emote in my work.

She has a much bigger enclosure now but this is the prettiest photo of her from 2018.

Progress in the Snake Plushie Review

I've gotten to the point where ive written about all the big categories of snake I intend to and found most of the cobras, rattlesnakes, pythons etc. I'm now wrapping up by finding some odds and ends here and there but not expecting much

and then i find THIS site

inexplicably this site has a bunch of plushies ive never found before. Image search on google doesn't show these but tinyeye shows they're the first and only place to have these photos uploaded. Some of them have WildRepublic tags visible in the photo, but I've barely been able to find any others online. tinyeye says they were posted in 2012.

This one was labeled Sharpnose Viper (on that site) and I found it on Picclick, but I think the ebay listing is gone now because i couldn't see any other photos.

anyways really neat to find these relics here and there of the old internet. The Sharpnose Viper, Bandy Bandy, Boomslang and Mandarin Ratsnake I couldn't find elsewhere on the internet but also would almost certainly be unlabeled in ebay listings- the tags that say their species are usually removed so ebay listings just say things like "BIG SNAKE PLUSH" etc

The Jungle Carpet Python and the San Fransisco garter do both have other plushies but this specific brand (probably wildrepublic for both) has a different carpet python and no garter snake currently on its site.

and yes: san fransisco garter snakes DO look like that and they DO deserve their own plushie. (right photo source)

Autumnal activities! The air getting colder, things settling in. The weather and my life seem to be a little in flux right now.

I went to school for animation and I got my start as a stop-motion puppet fabricator and writer. I do not do this as my career now. But I'm okay with that.

I have two pythons as pets. Ball Python [Puppy] and Jungle Carpet [Dolores]. I love snakes. (Lizards i'm afraid of)

I'm a LARPer. I am taking a long break from it right now.

My partner, good food, chilling by my altar with all the candles lit at night, friends sharing their art, when I actually sleep through the night
