i have something to say and it is not nice:

that post going around that’s like ‘if you can alter your fic and get it published as something original, it wasn’t good fic and it isn’t good original work’ really underestimates the power of like ummmm writing lmao

#silver jelly #just because you're a weak ass writer doesn't mean all of us are bucko! ♥#like i'm sorry but you can be good at characterization/Playing With The Canon Narrative (which by the way is EXTREMELY subjective)#and you can also take those things and find ways to make it into something else #like anything can be gutted to its core parts and built back up to something mostly unrecognizable; it's really not THAT hard #compared to other aspects of writing????? yeah sorry it's not that hard at all #like it's really just creativity lmao and that's why most of us do this in the first place ♥ don't hate the player; etc.#and for fuck's sake i'm sooooooooooooo tired of people ragging on people who want t o write au's or want to change canon events #'at some point you should just write your own original stuff' do you KNOW how much work that is for someone who's writing casually????????#newsflash asshole: if you don't like coffeeshop aus or canon divergence; YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ IT!!!#people are doing this for fun!!!!!! it's supposed to be fun!!!!!! they're doing it for themselves and posting it--for FREE by the way--#so other people can also have fun with them you GOD DAMN FUCKING KILLJOY.#you aren't better than someone because they're making a neon glitter mermaid au. you're playing with the same fucking set of barbies #block them and move on.
