Rumi

Quite like Rumi. She's shown to have a decent character development. Initially quite vapid and shallow but turns out she is kind and supportive and a really wonderful friend.

Also loved the arc where she quit the company and got scared. A very realistic response imo to everything and made her seem more of a rounded, three dimensional character.

Actually loooove her and Wangguk together, but I do NOT enjoy the pace of their relationship or how they got together. C'mon, you don't have to rush it.

And Wangguk blowing up whoever's place cos of Rumi's deepfakes?? BRO. WHAT ABOUT YOUR SISTER?? But that's a rant for another day.

Gaeul

Girl can fight!! Don't have much to add to her, although her character started off strong and now....

Honestly wtf was that Fake Couple arc with Hobin? WHY the unnecessary drama. Why are we reducing Gaeul to the third wheel between Bomi and Hobin??

Why are we also rolling Gaeul and Snapper out whenever the plot needs to move forward?!

Guys we were THIS CLOSE to having this character butchered and turned into another Hobin simp.

In Summary

Marginally better written than the girls in Lookism. At least Gaeul and Gyeoul can fight. Fucking LOVE Gyeoul.

Their body shape overall gives me the ick when combined with the way PTJ + co writes women.

He’d take you on a picnic with all your favorite foods, walk around the animal park so you can see all the cute animals and maybe even get to pet some dogs

He’s not doing it all to be praised don’t get me wrong

But absolutely praise him and tell him how great he did planning the date, he’ll try to brush it off and act all cool but you can tell by how red his ears are that he’s flustered

You really saw zacks ‘date’ with Mira and thought he wouldn’t want to impress you? Absolutely wrong

This guy still doesn’t get that he doesn’t need to be over the top trying to impress you all the time. But it’s the sweetest thing so it’s not like you want to stop him. He’s always trying to be gentlemanly and open the door for you, stay on the street side of the side walk. He’d hold his arm out for you to hold onto all nonchalantly but if you actually grabbed onto his arm I think he’d die a little on the inside from happiness

He’s always really dressing up for your dates together too, even if it’s just a dinner and visit to an arcade date he’s out here with the hair gel and the nice button up

Ok but how cute would it be if he always made sure to bring some kind of gift that you’d like before each date? Like one day it’s a specific snack you like or it’s those chocolates that you were telling him that you really wanted

i have this “theory” i guess. It is implied that Jay likes Daniel very much, it is also somewhat implied that Jay has a strained relationship with this parents. So I was wondering, what if Jay told his parents he was gay in some way and his parents didn’t quite accept? I was wondering if that could somehow be a whole “arc” of lookism entirely, just so that we get a little bit of insight in Jay’s past. I dont know tbh, i just wanted to state the theory ig. heh.

Oooh, that’s interesting. I was actually thinking along those lines, too. I can understand the not completely accept part as they tried to call Jay, but they seemed a bit awkward.

His brother doesn’t really seem to like him from what I can see from the amusement park chapter, so maybe that has something to do with Jay being outcasted from his family. Crystal also seemed to notice that they weren’t that close with each other in chapter 147; she didn’t even know that there was a second heir in the family. If she didn’t know, that could mean that they didn’t make Jay public. The brother also said how the school, Jae Won High, wasn’t up to their par and blamed him for bringing their sister into it. Since it’s obvious that it’s not suitable for a rich boy like Jay, maybe that’s the reason he’s in the school in the first place. He also seems to live alone with his butler as they had to call him; they weren’t shown or hinted that they were in the house either. But, since he still has a butler, maybe it’s because he’s not fully accepted but, nonetheless, family. Or the butler is just loyal and has been taking care of his young master since he was young.

Other than that, instead of being gay, I’ve thought that maybe he’s not a legitimate son. Maybe the mother is different, so he is being outcasted. He has blond hair and all, but of course that could be because he dyed it. I think him being gay is closer to being right because maybe only the parents know and not the siblings. I feel like the brother would be more disgusted and rude towards Jay if he knew he was gay. Joy might see him as competition for Daniel. I think she still thinks that he’s just stealing him as a friend or something because it doesn’t completely feel like she knows that Jay is gay.

Sorry for rambling…I think it’d be really cool if there was an arc for Jay explaining all of this, but maybe he’s not even gay. I bet there will be some kind of arc for him because Zack and Vasco got one. I guess we’ll just have to wait.
