love when kids show have so many references to other movies. s3ep12 of rescue bots is an obvious reference to classic Godzilla movies.

there might be more references that I didn't notice but from what I found out we have

Humungado parallels Godzilla in a lot of aspects. A dinosaur like creature, standing on its two legs, breathing fire and being the main character of its franchise. Humungado also shows some kind of hatred towards dinosaurs, possibly referencing how the first Godzilla was a mutated dinosaur.

The Humungado's main theme also very similar to Godzilla's, as it shows:

The next is Ravenous. Humungado's opponent in the beginning and a friend by the end of the episode.

Honestly, my first thought was that Ravenous is a reference to Rodan/Anguirus. Both Rodan and Anguirus fought against Godzilla, later becoming his friend.

Spikey belly and flying aspect reminds me a lot of Rodan, but there's a big possibility that this manta ray monster might be not so popular kaiju in Godzilla franchise called “Sub Zero Manta”.

This kaiju appears in the sequel to Godzilla (1998), and even shares the same abilities with Ravenous from Rescue Bots, like flying and ice breath.

If continue talking about Godzilla Jr series, Humungado might be based on 1998 version of Godzilla, like weak flames and similar jaw shape.

Kade probably saw their own version of Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1993) based on these lines 🦖

I want to yap about the rescue bots in smoke and mirrors again so buckle in

Today’s brainrot: dynamics

The reason the rescue bots refer to themselves as “brothers” is because the chief used the term to refer to them offhandedly and they were like “yeah that works” so here we are. They call each other “brother” in the same way first responders do

Amongst them the most actual sibling-like relationship is between blades and heatwave. They just antagonize each other but heatwave is the first to step in front of blades to protect him and blades knows he can count on heatwave, always instinctively reaching for him for protection. And while verbally sparring with kade can be fun, it’s even more fun to coax blades out of his shell into a real debate

I would say heatwave and boulder are really good friends. They’re just comfortable in each other’s presence- yeah, they have a little adventure here and there, but it’s not mandatory in their dynamic. They’re usually content to just soak up the other’s field (and heatwave is basically a mobile space heater which helps)

Chase and blades is also a very strong platonic dynamic. Theirs is super interesting to me too because blades is very emotional, and I think he finds comfort in chase’s very logical perspective and the first he turns to when he doesn’t understand something. Whereas chase appreciates blades’ attitude and sharp wit, even if he has trouble following through with his arguments when ire is turned on him. World’s best debate team

For boulder and blades, boulder’s inherent curiosity about the world is something blades lives vicariously through, as a lot of times he’s far too scared to be curious. And in the inverse, since boulder has such a problem with blood/gore/medical related things, yet is still curious, enjoys hearing blades talk about medical science (as only the sight really bothers them). And of course, being listened to makes blades feel important

For chase and boulder, boulder is a great resource for chase. While he’s a law encyclopedia, boulder is a culture and flora and fauna encyclopedia- both have minds like steel traps. And of course, it’s nice to spend time with someone who won’t argue with you, and is content to relax in silence. I think boulder very much enjoys quiet time, and of course have you seen that upper body? Made for hugs. Boulder is definitely the only one chase would willingly go to for hugs

And of course. Heatwave and chase. Not friends not lovers but a secret third thing. They act like they can’t stand each other but they’re disgustingly codependent and basically attached at the hip. They would die for each other. Heatwave would kill someone if chase asked him to. Chase is the only one who can make heatwave stop and think and heatwave is the only one who can make chase stop thinking. There is no label you can put on them. They know each other better than they know themselves and they use that knowledge just as much to comfort each other as they use it to push each other’s buttons. They’re both the stubbornest mech the other has met. In a bad situation the first name out of their mouths is each other’s. They love each other more than anything. What is their fucking problem

Reader is like close with the burns family, basically part of the family, and finally came to visit them on the island after moving to the mainland as a kid. At first reader is shy with the bots but when heatwave starts small talk with them they’re comfortable bc of him. Also, I’d love to see heatwave smitten over reader😖

Buddy used to live in Griffin Rock when she was little.

Her family used to live near the Burns family.

They had two older boys, Charlie and Woodrow Burns.

While much older, Buddy always seemed to follow them around on whatever adventure they used to go on.

Charlie was a bit hesitant to having Buddy join in, but Woodrow didn’t seem to mind.

Buddy is being carried like a football by Charlie. Buddy: “Faster! Faster!” Charlie: “I’m trying!” Woodrow finally catches up with the two. Woodrow: “You heard her Charlie! Run for the hills!” Charlie: “Maybe if you hadn’t thrown that rock at the wasp nest, we wouldn’t be in this situation!” Woodrow: “Less talking more running!”

Soon enough the small town knew them as a trio, never too far from each other.

Things changed when Buddy had to move to the mainland.

She had begged and begged to stay but there was nothing she could do.

Buddy gave the brothers tight hugs before joining her family on the ferry to the mainland.

As the years went on, Buddy did managed to keep in contact with Charlie.

Woodrow, due to his strange trips, was harder to get a hold of and eventually lost contact.

His children soon came to know her as a sort of distant aunt that would visit every few years.

When Buddy found out that there was a new EMT job position in Griffin Rock, she jumped at the chance and was hired.

Dani, Charlie’s second oldest was the only one who knew about Buddy moving and getting the job position as her new partner.

To say she was a bit excited was an understatement.

It was especially hard to keep the secret from her family and the bots.

Dani finished a call with Buddy. She had just arrived on the ferry and would be on the Island in a couple of hours. Blades: “What’s got you smiling like that? Is it Taylor?” Dani blushes a bit at the mention of her crushes name. Dani: “Quit it Blades. Its not Taylor.” Blades: “…Wait! You have another love interest don’t you!?” Dani: “What?! No—” Blades: “Oh Primus! My favorite cliché is coming true! Boulder! Chase! Heatwave! You have to hear this!” Dani: “BLADES NO!”

After narrowly avoiding a disaster there, Dani went off to pick up Buddy from the port.

She made sure to let her dad know that she was bringing in a guest.

The entire family thought it was Taylor.

Boy were they in for a surprise.

The Burns family notices someone in the car with Dani. Graham: “Wait, that doesn’t look like Taylor.” Charlie: “That is—” Kade: “Weird! Where’s Taylor? Maybe Blades was onto something…” Cody squints his eyes a bit. Cody: “Wait, isn’t that Auntie Buddy?!” The car stops and Buddy gets out. Buddy: “Hello Burns Family!” Cody, Grahm and Kade take turns to hug their aunt while Charlie was still processing her being here. Buddy smiles at her old friend and opens her arms. Buddy: “C’mon old timer, where’s my hug?” Charlie chuckles and brings Buddy in for a tight hug which she gladly returns.

It’s a pleasant surprise from the Burns hearing that Buddy was going to be Dani’s new human partner.

Now the hard part.

Introducing her to the bots.

Charlie is hoping that her fascination with the SCI-FI genre hasn’t wavered.

Buddy had an irongrip on his arm when the bots transformed and introduced themselves to the newest member of the team.

She blinked a few times before having a mental conversation with her best friend before introducing herself shyly.

Given that Buddy was Dani’s partner, Blades was the first bot that helped her get situated with everyone and catch up on the latest news.

Blades: “And then there were these Flobsters—” Buddy: “Flobsters?” Blades: “Floating lobsters.” Buddy shakes her head. Buddy: “Somehow things have and haven’t changed on this island… continue.” Blades: “Then one of them slapped me in the face!”

After getting caught up with most of the relevant news, and having several mental pauses to process everything, Buddy was put to work.

Still being new to the job, it took a bit for her to get used to everything.

As much as she was a bit of a chatter box with Charlie, it was clear that Buddy was a bit more shy with the bots.

Even Blades found it a bit hard to get her out of her shell.

The solution came from none other than the Rescue Bots leader, Heatwave.

Cody and the chief had mentioned that some small talk was the best way to get Buddy to open up.

If it meant getting a smoother transition, Heatwave was going to try it.

It first started with the weather, to small stories about the towns folk, to stories about a young Chief.

Buddy started opening up to the bots.

Heatwave: “So what made you think about being an EMT?” Charlie: “I’m curious about that too. You mentioned being a professor for the longest time. What changed?” Boulder: “That is quite a change in fields.” Buddy: “It was actually a cousin of mine that changed my mind.” Chase: “Cousin?” Cody: “A family member Chase.” Buddy: “She works as a nurse on the mainland. I decided to visit her at work and ended up using some of my medical certifications on a person in the lobby. After talking with her about the medical field, I started thinking about doing other things to help people.” Buddy smiles softly. Buddy: “I found out being an EMT was much more rewarding than being a stuffy professor.” Charlie: “And your cousin? How come you didn’t stay with her and be an EMT?” Buddy: “She’s fine. But she lives over in Nevada and I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather live here than boring Nevada. Anyways! Who wants to hear the time Woodrow, and I dyed Charlie’s hair pink?” Bots: “What!?” Charlie having flashbacks: “Buddy no.” Buddy: “Buddy yes!”

As time went on, it became more and more clear to the rest bots that Heatwave had a bit of a soft spot for Buddy.

Never in the teams years of work had seen their teammate like this.

They had Buddy to thank for that.

Blades has a BINGO sheet full of pre couple things he has seen on TV and movies and actively checking them.

Sonn enough the humans also find out about Heatwave’s odd behavior.

Charlie has no idea what to think about this.

Does eventually consider giving Heatwave his blessing if it comes to it.

The leader argues about caring for Buddy any more than a friend.

Heatwave: “I still don’t get why you’re making a big deal out of this.” Blades: “Because you like her!” Heatwave: “She’s just a friend Blades, you’ve been watching too many romcom’s.” Boulder: “But you have been spending more time with her lately.” Heatwave: “She’s still new to working in a team with us, nothing special.” Chase holds out a data pad. Chase: “7:00 pm at the Bunker, you were with Buddy watching said romantic comedy movies.” Heatwave: “It’s a good team building exercise.” Chase: “I wasn’t finished. 8:45 pm on that same night, you both finished watching movies and were actively listening to Buddy ranting about cliches and overused movie tropes. Buddy was on your lap in ‘eagle spread’ formation. The talking continued until dawn.” Heatwave suddenly starts feeling a bit warm. Heatwave: “So? I don’t see what the problem is?” Chase: “You have repeated the same scenario for over two months.” Boulder: “And according to Blades sheet, isn’t that the sort of repeated activity that some humans do before they start dating?” Heatwave turns around and starts speed walking to the exit. Heatwave: “Kade! We’re going out!” Blades starts running after him. Blades: “YOU CAN’T RUN FROM LOVE HEATWAVE!” Heatwave starts running. Heatwave: “Kade!” The red bot grabs a confused Kade and speeds off. Kade: “What was that all about?!” Heatwave: “Just late for patrolling that’s all.” Kade raises an eyebrow and smirks. Kade: “Is this about dating my Aunt?” Heatwave: “KADE!”

Part 10 (well.....how did that happen....) of yapping over Tyril Starfury's dialogues

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, Tyril!!! Like, everything he said was peak romance and he said it in front of their friends! Couldn’t be the same guy who “didn’t like attention drawn towards him” back in Chapter 3, huh?

And then… “I want to live, MC. I want to live for you.” MY DEAR SIR. You can’t just say that and expect me to not lose my fucking mind. What the fuck do you mean by that?! I’m honestly shocked they didn’t get married in Book 1.

Kade… ahh, brother, you’re gonna love this guy. (Not that you have a choice.)

ALSO, I find it hilarious that the party was just a few moments late, right? So technically, MC and LI can be blamed for fucking it all up. 💀

No clue if I am mentally prepared for swtd dlc because the wiki may explode on wednesday-

I shall ramble a bit about some rescue bots au shenanigans before bed (I realise I need to practise my writing some more), to feel less stressed

One idea I have is a scenario where everything seems normal, but at some point there is this weeird bird flying around. It's almost fully white and mimics various bird calls one can hear on Griffin Rock.

After bird spotters started to flood the island, some of the Burnses with Boulder go and investigate what is going on. Since many of these birders are going into Griffin Crest without permission.

Dani looks around the area and is utterly confused once she finds this injured bird that looks like Blades. But his head looks a bit different, which she finds odd. Boulder informs everyone to leave the area and they carry the bird back to the firehouse.

Blades has a bunch of different reactions that make you wonder if he is having an aneurysm of some sorts. This being is as big as a normal human being and chirps like a parrot for odd reasons. Kade came down to look at it but while he wasn't looking it ate his potato chips-

(Dani for scale) It's looking straight into your soul.

They let it live at the bunker with the bots for a few weeks, watching TV together or doing whacky shenanigans. Whenever boulder would present this tiny Blades with a new painting it would chirp frantically. Or watching Heatwave practising his martial arts, tho it notices when he's doing something wrong.

Doc Greene tries to figure out what this being is, who made it or where it came from. There isn't any logical explanation he can find and he ends up being more baffled than before. CeCe thinks it's a giant plush toy.

On some nights, when everyone is asleep, this bird "transforms" back to his normal bot mode. He seems to be looking for something, that he can't find. Often going out, through the city or into the forest. Some people see him, assuming Blades is just taking a walk, not questioning why he looks like a cartoon character.

One morning Cody comes down and sees another bird next to it! It looks like Heatwave? (Well the head with bird body) And they both chirp as if there is nothing weird going on. Of course Heatwave is extremely confused and you can't tell what expression he's making the first time he sees it. (Sometimes this bird even steals Kade's sandwiches, such evil being)

At one point High Tide calls in wondering, who made this bird version of himself. It doesn't sound like a parrot and more like a yapping Steppe Eagle, waddling around his ship like he owns it (so evil). While he isn't looking this bird actually starts talking and communicates with Servo. Blurr notices this, but no one else believes him for now.

Time passes and nobody could gather any info about these beings, however one faithful day these birds didn't play it safe. Bird Blades and Heatwave turn into their bot mode argueing about something, only to be discovered by the other bots.

"You tell them" he said while Heatwave looks at him flabbergasted. "What? What do I tell them?" squinting his eyes, because he doesn't wanna tell anything. This Heatwave looks like our Heatwave, unlike the other Blades who has a hard time explaining his appearance. (I'll add a -C behind their name now)

Some awkward moments later, this other Blades asks Heatwave to sparr with him. Confused he accepts thinking he can beat Blades-C easily. Tho little did he know, Blades-C beats him with ease while having a dumb smirk on his face.

Meanwhile Heatwave-C simply stays in his bird form and eats with the Burnses. He will not answer why they can eat, all he wants is pancakes. And annoy Kade.

I beg you, don't give him cheese sticks.

It's too late so I go to bedge now, no time to explain the more crazy parts, which come much later.

I was trying to make a transformers based OC but I just realized they sound eerily similar to something that something being Sonic Shadow Amy and Tails. I made them into a Transformers AU where Amy is a twink and they're in a love triangle and Tails is their adopted child. Currently no art, working on that soon.

Hummingbird - a blue-green motorbike with indigo highlights (based on the colours of an actual hummingbird) some kind of frontline autobot former racer

Shadowblur - a sleek black and red fighter jet deceptacon based in recon/seeker

Anyways, question, if someone, not saying names, were to, hypothetically, rant about a ship, maybe Pentar x Flame but who knows, in your asks... Would you rather, they send you just one ask that encompasses everything they have to say but they probably only finish writing in a few weeks maybe a month if they procrastinate, or, for them to send you multiple less long asks every now and then that over time will encompass all their thought?

i love yapping, so however way works best for them, i'm cool with it. i think the second options will work best, though. i already have people sending in multiple asks (looking at you, kade/aff), and i honestly don't mind it at all when people do that. it might just take me a little bit of time to get to those, lol.
