The Kakatiya dynasty was a Telugu dynasty that ruled most of current day Andhra Pradesh, India from 1083 CE to 1323 CE, with Orugallu, now Warangal, as its capital. Orugallu is also called 'Eka Sila Nagaram'. Shaivite Hindu in nature, it was one of the great Telugu states that lasted for centuries until conquest by the Delhi Sultanate. The Kakatiyan architecture has unique components that are not seen elsewhere. The strengthening of foundations through sand box technique, the skill of Kakatiya sculptors manifest in adroit craftsmanship and flawless ivory carving technique in their art, the ingenuity of Kakatiya sculptors visible in likes of lathe turned, and shiny polish in dolerite and granite stone sculpture and craft work of Nava rangamandapa are some such aspects. One of the four pillars at the State Archaeological Museum displaying just hints of the grandeur and skills of this forgotten dynasty. #Heritage #Historic #Architecture #Pillars #Chiselled #HandMade #HandCarved #Stone #SetInStone #Beauty #ArchitecturalDetails #KakatiyaDynasty #TeluguDynasty #TimeGoneBy #ThenAndhraPradesh #StateArchaeologicalMuseum #MuseumsOfIndia #Hyderabad #HyderabadDiaries #HyderabadJournal #Telangana #India #Wanderer #Wanderlust #Travel #Travelogue #TravelDiaries (at State Archaeological Museum, Hyderabad)

Ramappa temple- pride of telugu's that reflects tradition and heritage of Kakatiya's Ramappa temple gets UNESCO's world heritage tag!! The United Nations Educational and Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has recognized the historic Ramappa temple of the Mulugu district of Telangana as a world heritage site. Three historic buildings from Telangana, Qila Warangal, the Thousand Pillars and the Ramappa temple were in the contest and finally, UNESCO included the Ramappa temple in the final list. The Ramappa temple was built by the Kakatiya King Ganapatideva Chakravarthy’s sub-ruler Recherla Rudrayya in the year 1213 AD. History says the Seuna Sena dynasty king Jaitugi defeated Ganapatideva andimprisoned him. King Rudrayya fought with Jaitugi and freed Ganapatideva. For Rudrayya’s help, Ganapatideva wanted to give a precious Ramappa temple. The works of the temple, in which the Ramalingeswaram (Shivalingam) is enshrined, began in 1173 AD and were completed 40 years later in 1213 AD.

Watching The Crown on #Netflix and it pains me to see the #kohinoor on the British Crown. The largest diamond in the world ceded to the Crown after the British annexed Punjab! Originally belonged to the #kakatiyadynasty , (South India) later graced the Mughal Peacock Throne and now part of the British Crown Jewels! Brown people historically end up losing their treasures to white colonizers! . Know your history and quit white washing! . Oh yeah, and #maskup . #anticolonialism #spoilsofwar #crownjewels #indianproperty #ancientindianjewels #stolentreaures #knowyourhistory #historybuff #lessonsfromthepast #neverforget https://www.instagram.com/p/CId1dPDjSkA/?igshid=1kpx45zc2oeqq
