The Kakatiya dynasty was a Telugu dynasty that ruled most of current day Andhra Pradesh, India from 1083 CE to 1323 CE, with Orugallu, now Warangal, as its capital. Orugallu is also called 'Eka Sila Nagaram'. Shaivite Hindu in nature, it was one of the great Telugu states that lasted for centuries until conquest by the Delhi Sultanate. The Kakatiyan architecture has unique components that are not seen elsewhere. The strengthening of foundations through sand box technique, the skill of Kakatiya sculptors manifest in adroit craftsmanship and flawless ivory carving technique in their art, the ingenuity of Kakatiya sculptors visible in likes of lathe turned, and shiny polish in dolerite and granite stone sculpture and craft work of Nava rangamandapa are some such aspects. One of the four pillars at the State Archaeological Museum displaying just hints of the grandeur and skills of this forgotten dynasty. #Heritage #Historic #Architecture #Pillars #Chiselled #HandMade #HandCarved #Stone #SetInStone #Beauty #ArchitecturalDetails #KakatiyaDynasty #TeluguDynasty #TimeGoneBy #ThenAndhraPradesh #StateArchaeologicalMuseum #MuseumsOfIndia #Hyderabad #HyderabadDiaries #HyderabadJournal #Telangana #India #Wanderer #Wanderlust #Travel #Travelogue #TravelDiaries (at State Archaeological Museum, Hyderabad)
