Kedarnath Temple…!! The name "Kedarnath" means "the Lord of the Field". It is derived from the Sanskrit words kedara ("field") and natha ("lord"). The text Kashi Kedara Mahatmya states that it is so-called because "the crop of liberation" grows here. Kedarnath has been a pilgrimage centre since ancient times. The temple's construction is credited to the Pandava brothers mentioned in the Mahabharata. However, the Mahabharata does not mention any place called Kedarnath. One of the earliest references to Kedarnath occurs in the Skanda Purana (c. 7th-8th century), which names Kedara (Kedarnath) as the place where Lord Shiva released the holy waters of Ganga from his matted hair, resulting in the formation of the Ganges River. Kedarnath is located at a distance of 223 km from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and close to the source of the Mandakini River at the height of 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above sea level. The township is built on a barren stretch of land on the shores of Mandakini river. The surrounding scenery of the Himalayas and green pastures makes it a very attractive place for pilgrimage and trekking. Behind the town and the Kedarnath Temple, stands the majestic Kedarnath peak at 6,940 m (22,769 ft), the Kedar Dome at 6,831 m (22,411 ft) and other peaks of the range. . . . . . #kedarnath #kedarnathtemple #kedarnath_temple #kedarnathtemple🙏 #kedarnath_dham🙏🙏♥️♥️ #kedar #himalayan #himalayas #mountains #view #views #mountainview #mountainviews #mountainvibes #rohitgpt009 #mahadev #dham #jyotirling #jyotirlinga #12jyotirling #mountainpeak (at Kedarnath Temple-केदारनाथ मंदिर) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn30isxvHod/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Famous Temples of Lord Shiva
The most famous temples of God Shiva are popularly known as jyotirlingas. Jyotirlinga is a shrine where in the form of a jyotirlinga, God Shiva is worshipped. God Shiva, the destroyer of evil, is known as Mahadev. Jyotirling is the radiant symbol of almighty (Phallus Sign), where Jyoti means light and linga means sign. Thus jyotirlinga is known as the light of God Shiva. There is a total of twelve jyotirlingas in different states of India. They are considered to be auspicious and thus visited by devotes once in a lifetime. These jyotirlingas hold so much importance as it is believed that on the night of Arida Nakshatra, God Shiva manifested on earth, which made special reverence of jyotirlinga. Each jyotirlinga has a different manifestation of God's shiva, making it unique. The only similarity between all jyotirlingas is that they represent the infinite nature of God Shiva. God Shiva is Ruling God of One Mukhi Rudraksha. Rudraksha is said to be tears of God shiva
The famous temples of God shiva are:
Somnath temple- Somnath is one of the twelve     jyotirlingas located in Saurashtra. This temple has been destroyed and     built over again several times. As per historical records God, Shree Krishna     performed his Lila over this abode.
Mallikarjunam Temple– Mallikarjunam temple is located     on the hills of Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh. The wall sculptures depict     scenes from historical stories of Mahabharta and Ramayan. God Shiva, along     with wife Parvati, had visited this jyotirlinga to console Karketike,     their son, for his marriage.
Mahakaleshwar Temple-Mahakaleshwar temple is located in     Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The temple situated on the banks of river kshipra     holds historical significance as God Shiva appeared here to vanish a demon     that tried dominating people and the Brahmins around the temple.
Omkareshwar temple- Omkareshwar temple is located in     Madhya Pradesh on the banks of river Narmada. Many devotees visit the     temple during Shivratri and Kartikeya Poornima.
