Just another Wednesday morning.

It's an hour's drive into the city, and leaving right after work leaves me some time to kill at my favorite spot with my favorite lens.

So I head to Mount Washington, and the

Top.

Bottom.

Middle.

Inside.

Most every postcard view of the city, day or night, is taken from the overlook at the upper station.

Not shown is the spiked fence, which makes shooting from this spot a bit tricky for a 5'6" dude like me. Next time I'm bringing a stool.

For a change of pace, I got a shot from inside the incline car as it descended. This one is wallpapered for your consideration.

Again, with a little time to kill, I walked along the sidewalk towards the Fort Pitt Bridge.

And one "historical" picture of the approach to the bridge in glorious black and white for the archival types.

These came out much sharper than my first few goes back in May. Not only did I switch out from the relatively cheap 28mm and 50mm primes to the professional grade 28-70 f/2.8D lens (thank you, KEH), but I finally(!) discovered I could set auto ISO to use a minimum shutter speed to offset the old man camera shake. That lens is built like a tank and just as heavy.

So yeah. f/8, minimum 1/125 shutter, and GO!

As for editing, until someone tells me otherwise, it's auto straighten, crop as needs require, aberration correction, lens profile, and... auto.

Also like I finished chapter 4 of good pizza great pizza yesterday (which I'll be shortening as gpgp from now cuz I don't feel like writing the name of the game each time). Anyway for what at first I assumed was just a silly game about owning a pizzeria has actually very compelling stories and characters.

Anyway. Angelica. I want to talk about her. I choose not to expose her, because I couldn't. Like her backstory...she is def a villain but her story is like tragic in a way. I mean she inherits her family's pizza shop while attending college only for it to be closed down because of Keh opening his store across the street (and him using that damn flavor enhancer).

But like, this line that megabyte says 'haunts' me. I don't quite remember the phrasing, but it's something like: "That was the first lesson Angelica learned from Michael Keh." Aka, to be ruthless, to do anything in order to get what she wants. But deep inside, she is a good person, I like to believe, even if she was chapter 4's villain and honestly did a lot of terrible things.

I know I'll see Michael Keh again in chapter 5 and I love the guy (and I lowkey ship my original character/player with him okay.) but also like. Woah he sucks. Which is part of the reason I find him interesting. I also find the concept of "AngeliKeh" interesting(and the fact that people in the gpgp universe ship them is so fun). They'd be like enemies to lovers and stuff.

I was watching a Meghnerd live about Operation Sindoor yesterday (it's a fantastic YouTube channel, go check it out) and he made a very good point. He said we can be anti-war and support the army at the same time, because I don't want anyone to die, including those in the army, so my de facto stance has to be anti-war.

And I am staunchly anti-war, politically inclined hard-left. I hate- HATE- the way things are escalating, and this cyle of tit-for-tat feels never-ending (which I honestly blame Pakistan for because er wtf. Just stop, you're embarrassing yourselves.)... but at the same time. People in India currently pumped up with nationalism and patriotism need to calm the fuck down. Dogfights aren't a movie, missile strikes aren't a video game, none of this is a fun thing that we should all be hyping up and cheering for. This is leading up to war.

People die.

Real people die.

And real people all across the nation are scared out of their minds - for their own lives, and for the lives of their loved ones living in northern states.

Our own people.

These attacks are NOT something we should be making memes and glory-posts about. A lot of us seem to be under the propagandist delusion that the army is currently defending our honour. It is by default, but that's not its primary objective. It is keeping the country safe from an international threat (notice how I said international, not religious). If we love the army as much as we claim and clamour, then we had better start wishing like hell that this "war" doesn't get declared, and this situation is de-escalated as fast as fucking possible. Pumping fists at the screen for every attack, cheering for every time Pakistani drones and fighters are shot down, NEEDS to stop.

And while we're at it, pray verify the information you're hearing. This is a misinformation war as much as it is on the ground, and not even famously right-wing news channels are giving accurate, reliable information.
