None of these people know what healthy love looks like. They only recognise love that includes rejection, manipulation, violence and disinterest. Abuse is their love language.

Something else that haunts me a bit about Kendall is we never see any of the people he was emotionally close to outside of his family interacting, at least not in a very substantive way. You come away with the impression that he gave a piece of himself to each of them, that they each knew their own Kendall, which is why many of them held on as long as they could before realizing they couldn't anymore.
