Lila Moss’s Guide to “Dot, Dot” Contouring and Next-Level Lashes
New Post has been published on https://medianwire.com/lila-mosss-guide-to-dot-dot-contouring-and-next-level-lashes/
Lila Moss’s Guide to “Dot, Dot” Contouring and Next-Level Lashes
Tumblr media
There are a few things Lila Moss has on her at all times: a multitasking lip balm, a lip liner, and a glucose device to monitor her type 1 diabetes. In true Gen Z fashion, transparency and authenticity are important to the 20-year-old model, who proudly sports the device daily—even while strutting on the Fendace and Vogue World catwalks. “It felt really amazing to [feel] like myself,” says Moss, who got her start modeling at age 14, picking up a few tricks from her supermodel mother Kate Moss. Today, the rising runway star shares her beauty routine, from soothing skin care to her go-to contouring strategy.
“Skin care has always been an important part of my day,” explains Moss. “I have quite sensitive skin, so my routine is quite simple.” First, she relies on gentle yet effective salves by London-based dermatologist Dr. Sam Bunting and Dermalogica—supplemented by the Face Gym Multi Sculpt contouring tool. “I like to do it under my sinuses—I feel like they’re a bit blocked at the moment, and it just feels nice,” she says while gliding the tool across her face. Next is Youth To The People’s firming eye cream to quell dark circles and prep for makeup. “I feel like if you put on eye cream and then concealer, it just sits nicer; it doesn’t look so dry and crusty.” For lips, Moss uses Laneige’s mask to the last drop, musing that her mother took her last pot of the cult-favorite treatment. “Recently, I’ve been really strict with myself about wearing sun cream because I just realized that it’s better for my skin,” she says as she applies an imperceptible veil of Ultra Violette’s weightless SPF. Then, a spritz of Cosmoss’s Sacred Mist from her mom’s recently launched wellness brand rounds out her skin care regimen. “It smells of [my mom] and it makes me so happy because it reminds me of her.”
With skin prepped, Moss is ready to dive into her going-out party look, beginning with Charlotte Tilbury’s buzzy Flawless Filter skin tint, buffing in the formula with a damp Beautyblender before blending concealer under her eyes and atop blemishes. “I think the best makeup advice I’ve ever received is from my mom, and it’s that less is more,” she says. Onto contour, Moss reveals her special “dot-dot” application strategy, which entails dotting along the hollows of her cheeks and forehead with Charlotte Tilbury’s contour wand before blending. Next up, Kosass tinted balm is swiped on the cheeks for a rosy flush, while brows are brushed into place with gel. Then, to accentuate her gaze, Moss smudges brown and champagne-hued shadow in the lids before using an eyelash curler and a few swipes of mascara to achieve next-level lashes. For a naturally fuller pout, Tilbury’s lip liner in Pillow Talk, followed by Fenty Beauty’s gloss does the trick. “I definitely take my lip liner with me when I’m going out—it’s in my bag all day, every day because it’s one of those things I wear when I’m not even wearing makeup,” she spills. After a light dusting of Glossier’s finishing powder and a mist of perfume, Moss is all set for a night on the town.

what the hell is the deal with my genetics
i have thick hair on my head that grows extremely fast. thick unibrow. nails that grow extremely fast too.
but my eyelashes???? Sparse af!!! eyelashes where???? hello????
what the heck!!! hello????????
what if i stopped curling my eyelashes…… they don’t stay curled all day anyway, what’s the point? maybe i need to let these babies rest. i wonder if that would help at all. since upgrading to the kevyn aucoin eyelash curler, i don’t lose eyelashes while curling them anymore which is great, cuz even losing one eyelash every day with the elf curler was a lot!!! that adds up…. I still feel like i lose the occasional eyelash whenever doing my makeup but i wonder if that would lessen if i stopped curling my lashes for a little bit….. Of course wearing waterproof mascara every day that i have work (usually 5 days a week, give or take) isn’t great for my eyelashes either but i finally got some cleansing balm again in hopes of removing my mascara more gently and thoroughly….. Ugh, the strug

10 Quick Beauty Tips for Girls Who Don’t Care About Hair and Makeup
Tumblr media
Be Healthy: Not everyone is into mastering the cat-eye flick or achieving the perfect beach waves. We’re all different and while 20 different shades of pink lipstick might be important to some, learning ways to get out the door with the least effort required is more appealing to others. While we all can probably admit that being makeup free with hair thrown in a bun is one of the best feelings, there are certain times when looking and feeling put together is necessary.
Today we’re sharing ten quick beauty tips for those of you who would prefer not to bother with hair and makeup at all—or even for those of you who just don’t have tons of time to put into getting ready. These tips will have you looking amazing while still getting you out of the house quickly!
1. Curl your lashes.
It may seem like a pointless step, but those seconds curling your lashes will make a huge impact! It will make you look wide awake (even if you’re not). We love the Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler and think it’s worth every penny.
2. Get beach waves overnight.
Beach waves that require little to no prep in the mornings? This tutorial shows three ways to get wavy hair overnight—no heat required!

5 Biggest Mistakes you make along with your lash crimper
Tumblr media
Curling your eyelashes is one among the tried-and-true little secrets that create a giant distinction within the approach your face and makeup appearance in nearly no time. Your lashes can instantly seem longer and fuller as a result of the bend pushes them up and fans them out, which additionally makes your eyes look additional open, awake, and outlined.
But these edges are solely attainable if you curl your lashes correctly— and avoid creating any of those mistakes (which will even injury them!).
1. You curl your lashes when applying makeup. Not solely will this build your lash crimper additional gunky, it can even hurt your lashes. makeup coats your lashes, then dries, creating the hairs more durable and fewer versatile. Curling lashes, once they are during a stiff state, will cause them to interrupt or maybe pull them out if they bog down on makeup that is not entirely dry on the crimper.
How to fix it: Instead, forever curl your lashes before applying makeup, and confirm your previous day's makeup is off your eyes utterly — otherwise you risk having your lashes persist with your crimper, probably tearing them out.
2. you are clamping down too exhausting. If you wish to own long, healthy lashes, apply solely mild pressure once curling them. Pressing down too powerfully cannot solely offer your lashes AN undesirable 90-degree angle bend instead of a sensible curve, it can even break your lashes. How to fix it: Bring the crimper on the point of the bottom of your lashes, ensuring that it isn't touching the lid skin. Squeeze gently for a few seconds, then unleash, moving the crimper to the middle of your lashes' length, then squeeze once more. Repeat towards the tip of your lashes (this ensures you are obtaining a pleasant gradual curl instead of a harsh bend).
Bonus tip: If {you're|you ar} scared of clamping your lashes during an ancient metal lash {curler|hair crimper|roller|crimper|mechanical device} or have short eyelashes that are troublesome to clamp within a curler, you'll need to do a heated lash crimper. In sensible housework Institute Beauty workplace evaluations, testers love heated lash curlers for his or her simple use, although the curling power is not as robust. 3. You ne'er clean your lash crimper. Even if you are forever curling your lashes before applying makeup, there is a likelihood that make-up, eyeshadow, bacteria, and dead skin cells will accumulate on that, which might build it less effective— or not effective the least bit.
How to fix it: Once per week (or as needed), pour a little quantity of lotion onto a cotton pad and wipe it everywhere your lash crimper to de-gunk it. confirm the crimper is completely dried before exploitation.
4. You ne'er replace the pad. Over time, the little pad within your lash crimper will get dirty, split, or crack, thus your crimper will not work also. Plus, if you influence the pad, that is there to guard your lashes, you risk harming them with the curler's exposed metal.
How to fix it: Swap during a new one every few months or once you notice that it's accumulated grime or become cracked or broken. Some curlers go with replacement pads. If not, you'll typically purchase them from the complete.
5. you are shopping for low-quality curlers. You want AN lash crimper that curls effectively while not harming your delicate lashes, that the quality counts. "It very makes a distinction to take a position during a superior lash crimper," explains Laramie, a makeup creative person in any town and l.  a... "I suggest the versions from Kevyn Aucoin, Shu Uemura, or Bobbi Brown."
How to fix it: The GH Beauty workplace picks for best lash curlers below (including a reasonable less-than-$5 option!) quickly and effectively curl lashes of all lengths on a range of eye shapes.

Best of 2019: The 49 Beauty Products That I Loved Most This Year (Makeup, Haircare and More)
Now that you're up to speed on my favourite facial skincare of 2019, it's time to share the rest—all the makeup, haircare, hair tools and bath and body products that I used and loved this year.
The Best Beauty Products of 2019
Best Primer
Tumblr media
REN Perfect Canvas Clean Primer
I don't use primer that often, but when I do, I reach for REN Perfect Canvas Clean Primer. I love that it's silicone-free, feels fresh on your skin and helps to mattify the T-zone a little bit. The ILIA True Skin Radiant Priming Serum is also great, but perhaps a tad more prone to pilling.
Best Sheer Foundation (Liquid)
Tumblr media
Sappho New Paradigm Essential Foundation
I've never found a liquid foundation that I like better than Sappho New Paradigm Essential Foundation. (I wear the shade Leisha.) I hate the feel of most foundations on my skin, but not this one. It's super light, with sheer coverage that's buildable to a medium. I'm obsessed with the clean ingredients, fresh scent, and how it's virtually undetectable on your skin. You need to try it!
Best Sheer Foundation (Cream)
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up
On a day-to-day basis, I almost always wear RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up in shade 00. It's a hybrid concealer and sheer foundation, and I just find it easy and quick to use—and so natural-looking on my skin. (See my application tips here!) I love that it's made with all-natural oils, which have never once broken me out.
Best High-Coverage Foundation
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up Cream Foundation
I'm not a full-coverage or even medium-coverage foundation person, but I've been testing out the new RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up Cream Foundation. If you like a really perfected skin look, this dense cream does the job without looking mask-like on the skin. I just find it leans a little more yellow than the original "Un" Cover-Up.
Best Tinted Moisturizer
Tumblr media
Omorovicza Complexion Perfector
Even though I only wear it in the summer, since the shades run a bit dark for me, the Omorovicza Complexion Perfector is probably the best tinted moisturizer formula I've tried to date. It's silicone-free, lightweight, and gives good light coverage (more than the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue, my other favourite).
Best BB/CC Cream
Tumblr media
Sappho New Paradigm CC Cream
Just like the brand's Foundation, Sappho New Paradigm CC Cream feels light and fresh on your skin. I think this one is best for oilier types, as it has more of a semi-matte finish. Despite the mousse-like texture, I'd describe the coverage level as light. The Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream, which I also wore quite a bit, is much more sheer and dewy.
Best Foundation Brush
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Foundation Brush
The right foundation brush can make the difference between a streaky application and a flawless one. The best I've found is RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Foundation Brush, which I usually use with "Un" Cover-Up, but also works with liquid formulas. Something about the bristles buffs the product into your skin so it looks super natural!
Best Concealer
Tumblr media
W3ll People Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer
I've long been searching for a high-coverage, opaque concealer like Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, but with more natural ingredients. I finally found it in W3ll People Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer (and not a moment too soon, because Make Up For Ever just discontinued my shade!). The only problem is it does tend to separate and go watery after a few months, so I'll have to keep buying replacements. For that reason, Make Up For Ever, along with Sappho New Paradigm, Glossier and Surratt Beauty were also in my concealer rotation this year.
Best Concealer Brush
Tumblr media
Kevyn Aucoin The Concealer Brush
The secret to concealing spots and blemishes is a tiny brush—that way, your concealer is only going on the discolouration, not the surrounding skin. I swear by Kevyn Aucoin The Concealer Brush.
Best Powder
Tumblr media
ILIA Soft Focus Finishing Powder
To set my makeup and tame any excess shine (especially when I use "Un" Cover-Up), I love ILIA Soft Focus Finishing Powder. This is a cornstarch-based translucent powder that does a great job of mattifying, but doesn't leave your skin dried out or weirdly slippery, like pure silica powders can. It's also silicone-free and talc-free.
Best Cream Blush
Tumblr media
Lilah B. Divine Duo Lip & Cheek
After trying and loving their Lip Balms, I bought a few shades of Lilah B. Divine Duo Lip & Cheek this year, and they're equally good. Although the ingredients are not as natural as the RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek collection (which I also wore a lot), the colours, texture and finish are beautiful. I also still use the Olio E Osso Balms (reviewed here).
Best Powder Blush
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty Pressed Blush
It had been a while since I was wowed by a powder blush, until Rose-Marie Swift herself painted my face with RMS Beauty Pressed Blush back in the spring. I never would have chosen the shade Mooncry for my fair skin, but it creates a gorgeous realistic flush that will work on any skin tone (just vary the intensity of your application).
Best Bronzer
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer
For bronzer, I find creams look a lot more natural than powders, so I like RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer for a sun-kissed glow. I also use RMS Beauty Contour Bronze, which is a little deeper and more brown-toned. With both, I just brush them across my nose and cheeks—I never contour!
Best Blush Brush
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Blush Brush
I used to apply cream blushes and bronzers with my fingers, but the RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Blush Brush has made such a difference. You get a much more light and even diffusion of colour.
Best Luminizer
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty Living Luminizer
For me, the OG luminizer, RMS Beauty Living Luminizer, is still the best for my skin tone. (And when I met Rose-Marie, she confirmed that it's my perfect shade.) This stuff always gives my skin a healthy sheen that doesn't look like makeup.
Best Freckle Pen
Tumblr media
Freck OG The Original Freckle
I first heard about Freck OG The Original Freckle when the product was still in development, and have wanted one ever since! I finally got my hands on a tube in 2019, and I have to say, it really is the best for creating faux freckles. The only catch is that you need to take your time with it. When I'm in a rush and I still want that cute sun-kissed look, I use Stila All Day Waterproof Brow Color in the shade Light.
Best Eyeshadow
Tumblr media
Kosas 10-Second Liquid Eyeshadow
The shade range needs expanding, but I was really impressed with Kosas 10-Second Liquid Eyeshadow this year. Even though it's a clean formula, it doesn't crease or slide around, and you can easily blend it with your fingers. I just think they need more neutrals, because I only like the shades Globe (champagne) and Astronaut (silver), and the latter is only available in the Mixed Metals Trio. In addition to this brand, I also wore a lot of RMS Beauty Eye Polish (evidently I've been more into cream eyeshadows than powders).
Best Eyeliner
Tumblr media
Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner
In 2019, I started feeling like all my eyeliners were looking too dark and harsh—even the browns. But it's not so easy finding lighter shades! Fortunately, a random Internet comment led me to Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Lionfish. It's a metallic bronze, and a great choice for people with light skin, eyes and hair.
Lash Serum
Tumblr media
neuLASH Lash Enhancing Serum
After finishing my last bottle of Latisse, I switched to neuLASH Lash Enhancing Serum this year. I don't think the results are as dramatic, but I think it does the job just fine!
Best Eyelash Curler
Tumblr media
Kevyn Aucoin The Eyelash Curler
I switched from Shu Uemura to the Kevyn Aucoin The Eyelash Curler, and it seems to fit my eyes better. It always captures all my lashes, never pulls or pinches, and the curl has a nice, gentle curve and is long-lasting.
Best Mascara
Tumblr media
Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara
I hate looking in the mirror mid-day and seeing mascara smudged under my eyes, so now I only use tubing formulas that won't budge. Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara is the ultimate—a shiny, jet-black formula that volumizes and lengthens without clumping, and stays put until you want to remove it (with just warm water).
Best Brow Mascara
Tumblr media
Glossier Boy Brow
I don't know if I've found the perfect brow mascara yet, but the one I used the most in 2019 was Glossier Boy Brow in Blond. I like the colour, which has the right amount of ashiness; I just wish it had more hold. Truthfully, I want to go back to Maybelline Brow Drama, but I can never find it here in Canada in Blonde (even though it's still on the brand website).
Best Tinted Lip Balm
Tumblr media
Lanolips Rose Gold 101 Ointment
I have a million tinted lip balms, so it's hard to pick a favourite, but I probably wore Lanolips Rose Gold 101 Ointment the most. You get all the healing benefits of lanolin with a flattering, warm pinky-red tint. But there are so many others I love, too: Kosas, Lilah B., Henné Organics (reviewed here), Dior, French Girl (reviewed here), Cocokind, Tata Harper (reviewed here), Olio E Osso (reviewed here) and COOLA (reviewed here).
Best Colour-Adjusting Lip Balm
Tumblr media
Buxom Powerplump Lip Balm
The new Buxom Powerplump Lip Balm is the best colour-adjusting lip product I've tried (and I've tried a few—remember when they used to be a big thing?). Because it's in a balm, it doesn't dry your lips out like its predecessors. On my lips, it turns into a pretty sheer rose shade, which suits me perfectly because I don't like to look too lipsticky. When I want a brighter pink, another good one is the Winky Lux Flower Balm.
Best Lipstick
Tumblr media
Kosas Weightless Lip Color Lipstick
Just like I stopped wearing dark eyeliner, I'm also in a no-lipstick phase lately. Most of them just feel like too much—except for Kosas Weightless Lip Color Lipstick. The three lightest shades are the closest thing to "your lips, only better." My favourite is Stardust!
Best Lip Liner
Tumblr media
RMS Beauty Lip Liner
I rarely wear lip liner because I prefer my lip colour to look dabbed on, not so precise. But sometimes I like to build up my thinner top lip a bit with RMS Beauty Lip Liner in the shade Nighttime Nude (reviewed here). It's the perfect match for my lip tone, and it has a lot of "grip."
Best Shampoo
Tumblr media
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo
I wash my hair daily, and Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo was my shampoo of choice in 2019. It's clear (not creamy), so it doesn't weigh my fine hair down, and it's sulfate-free.
Best Conditioner
Tumblr media
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Conditioner
I also used the matching Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Conditioner, which is silicone-free. It's fairly light, so I think it's best for fine hair that doesn't need a lot of detangling.
Best Comb
Tumblr media
Mason Pearson Rake Comb
Out of the shower, I comb out my hair using the Mason Pearson Rake Comb. Supposedly, this is for "very thick, curly or tightly permed hair," and mine is none of those things. But I like it because it's so gentle on wet hair.
Best Brush
Tumblr media
Mason Pearson Junior Mixture Nylon & Boar Bristle Hair Brush
I'm still using my trusty Mason Pearson Junior Mixture Nylon & Boar Bristle Hair Brush (reviewed here) to brush my dry hair. I've had this brush for more than a decade, so that's how well it holds up!
Best Heat-Protecting Spray
Tumblr media
Philip Kingsley Perfecting Primer
Usually, I let my hair air-dry, but when I do use a blowdryer, I protect my hair from the heat with the Philip Kingsley Perfecting Primer. It doesn't have the cleanest ingredients (I'm still on the hunt for a more natural version), but I like that it leaves my hair soft and full of body.
Best Volumizing Spray
Tumblr media
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Spray
For a little lift at the roots, I've been using Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Spray. I love the ingredients, and it doesn't feel like you've got product in your hair.
Best Hairdryer
Tumblr media
T3 PROi Professional Hair Dryer
I'm pretty sure the T3 PROi Professional Hair Dryer is being discontinued soon, but it sure has served me well these last few years! I've always trusted this brand's hairdryers because they last forever and never damage your hair. This is the best dryer I've ever owned, so I can't wait to see what they replace it with!
Best Flat Iron
Tumblr media
Drybar The Tress Press
Meanwhile, the best flat iron I've ever owned is Drybar The Tress Press. I use this daily to touch up my bangs and the ends of my hair, and it takes literally two minutes. It never creates dents and always glides smoothly through my hair.
Best Dry Shampoo
Tumblr media
Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo
After looking for a cleaner, non-aerosol alternative to Dove, I settled on Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo this year. It's not perfect (the packaging sucks), but I feel like it's a lot better for my scalp and the environment!
Best Texturizing Spray
Tumblr media
Playa Endless Summer Spray
For creating beachy texture, I bought Playa Endless Summer Spray, and I like it well enough. It's made with natural ingredients like sea salt and aloe vera, and isn't super moisturizing, which is a plus in my books. (I find some beach sprays weigh my hair down too much.)
Best Body Wash
Tumblr media
REN Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash
REN Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash was my main shower gel this year, and I love the jelly texture and spa-like scent.
Best Body Scrub
Tumblr media
Indie Lee Coconut Citrus Scrub
Every few days, I buff away dry skin in the shower with Indie Lee Coconut Citrus Scrub (reviewed here). Not only are the ingredients all-natural, but it's so moisturizing, you can get away without body lotion.
Best Acid Exfoliant for Body

Paula's Choice Clear Acne Body Spray
I invested in Paula's Choice Clear Acne Body Spray to prevent sweat-induced body breakouts in the summertime. The spray makes it easy to reach your back, and it has two percent salicylic acid in a fast-absorbing liquid (so you can get dressed right away).
Best Body Lotion
Tumblr media
Odacité Perfect Nutrients Body Lotion
I'm the pickiest person when it comes to body moisturizers, because there's so much product being absorbed over a large surface area—so the ingredients need to be top-notch. Odacité Perfect Nutrients Body Lotion is basically perfect, because it's a blend of aloe vera, coconut oil, glycerin and jojoba oil. If you need more moisture, I'd layer a body oil on top.
Best Body Oil
Tumblr media
Monoï Tiki Tahiti Huile Parfumée
When I want to transport myself to the tropics, I slather on some Monoï Tiki Tahiti Huile Parfumée, a fragrant monoï oil made the traditional way by steeping tiare flowers in coconut oil. Otherwise, I just use plain Kopari Coconut Melt.
Best Body Sunscreen
Tumblr media
Love Sun Body Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Fragrance-Free
The body sunscreen I was most impressed with this year was Love Sun Body Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Fragrance-Free. It's waterproof, silicone-free and 100 percent natural, with 20.4 percent zinc oxide as the active ingredient. And unlike most mineral SPFs, it's not whitening at all (even on darker skin)! You could use it on your face as well, it's just a little on the dewy side.
Best Deodorant
Tumblr media
Schmidt's Ylang-Ylang + Calendula Natural Deodorant
For deodorant, the formula (and scent) I like best is Schmidt's Ylang-Ylang + Calendula Natural Deodorant. Great ingredients and it works!
Best Fragrance

Lush Sikkim Girls
If you're a long-time reader, you might remember me gushing about Lush Sikkim Girls back in the day, when it first launched. I don't know why I ever stopped wearing it, but this year I went back to it and realized it's the closest thing I have to a signature scent. It's frangipani and other white florals, but mixed with incense and vanilla. Very feminine, natural and Bohemian. I adore it!
Best Nail Buffer
Tumblr media
Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer
If you don't have the time or inclination a manicure, Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer is the best thing ever. It makes your nails so shiny, it looks like you're wearing clear nail polish!
Best Nail Polish
Tumblr media
Nails Inc. NailKale Nail Illuminator
I love a sheer pearly nail polish, like Nails Inc. NailKale Nail Illuminator, which I wore all through 2019. Unfortunately, it now seems to be discontinued... hopefully they bring it back!
Best Hand Lotion
Tumblr media
Lano Coconutter Hand Cream Intense
Just like lanolin has healed my chapped lips, it's also made a difference for my hands. I love all the Lano hand creams, especially Lano Coconutter Hand Cream Intense because it smells like coconut. And it doesn't leave you greasy!
Best Cuticle Cream/Foot Cream
Tumblr media
Lansinoh Lanolin Cream
I also use Lansinoh Lanolin Cream, which is a 100 percent lanolin ointment, to moisturize dry cuticles and even feet. It also doubles as a lip balm. (If you want cuter packaging, get the Lanolips 101 Ointment!)
Best Foot Peel
Tumblr media
Baby Foot Exfoliation Foot Peel
Every couple months or so, I do a deep exfoliation using Baby Foot Exfoliation Foot Peel (reviewed here). If you're prone to calluses and thickened skin on your heels, nothing is more effective at getting it off!

The ultimate lash lineup. We could probably curl, comb, and mascara-swipe our lashes in our sleep. We try countless formulas weekly and have pretty high standards as far as what we need from a sleek tube of inky black (or maroon or blue!) magic. Whether it's curl, volume, length, or a majestic mixture of all three, we strive for lashes that look like their best, most-fluttery selves 24/7—or at least when we're wearing makeup. We're not sure how many buzzy formulas we've tried in 2019 alone, but between new to us and new new mascaras, there have been a lot—some of which have made our lash goals soar and some that have fallen flat. So, we're dishing up the dish and sharing our favorites right here and right now. Ahead, I'm sharing the mascara formulas I found and fell in love with this year in addition to the standout formulas that impressed the hell out of some of my fellow co-workers at WWW HQ. Looking for your next mascara PIC? You've come to the right place. Keep scrolling for the best mascaras money can buy right now sorted strategically by goal: length, volume, or curl. This is one of the buzziest new mascaras on the market, and after finally trying it in 2019, I completely understand why. Never has a mascara application been faster or more efficient. With just a few strategic strokes, my lashes looked infinitely longer (like extensions!) with zero smudging, clumping, or flakes. Plus, the formula features the brand's signature Flake-Free Tubing Technology in addition to its special Orchid Stem Cell Complex, which together, do a dang good job of keeping lashes defined, hydrated, and epically curled all day long. I first saw this mascara when my ultimate beauty hero and makeup muse, French makeup artist Violette, began using it regularly during her tutorials. Her lashes looked impossible fanned, long, and defined, and I wanted in on the magic. Folks, this mascara did not disappoint, and I've been carrying it with me everywhere I go—even during this crazy season of travel! I always think the phrase "bedroom eyes" is kind of cringe-y and cliché, but this mascara really delivers just that. Associate Beauty Editor Courtney Higgs and I both agree that Glossier's Lash Slick mascara should honestly surpass Boy Brow as the brand's best product of all time. If you love natural, curled, fluttery, long lashes that are perfectly defined, there honestly is not a better option on the market right now. Plus, it's only $16, so there's that. Oh, and although it's not waterproof, it IS water-resistant so you don't have to worry about smudging or wear-off. Courtney and I were both intrigued about trying this mascara since we love Lorac, and the formula came highly recommended from one of our favorite celebrity makeup artists, Kelsey Deenihan. And, drumroll, we're obsessed. It's virtually impossible to create even the smallest of clumps thanks to the size and shape of the brush, and it instantly makes lashes look about twice the length with expert separation to boot. I'll be the first to admit that prior to trying this mascara from W3ll People, I had a track record of giving all-natural formulas the side-eye. That said, this is one of the best volumizing mascaras I've ever tried, and not just within the natural and non-toxic genre. It has the prettiest inky black color that makes your lashes look lush, full, long, and all-around dreamy. In major beauty news this year, Too Faced dropped its first-ever mascara following the brand's icon status formula, Better Than Sex. My personal opinion? Damn Girl! is even better. The packaging is hot as heck, the finish lasts up to 24 hours, and the formula is chock-full of amazing technology, Whipped Melting Waxes for ultimate layering capability, Lash Suspension Polymers for lift and curl, and Hydrophilic Black for ridiculously inky, fluttery black lashes. I kept seeing makeup artists use this cult-loved volumizing mascara from Chanel, so I finally gave it a go and tried it earlier this year. Since my lashes are long and straight, I typically run into issues with volumizing formulas making my lashes look droopy and clumpy. However, this one from Chanel is one of the few exceptions. I do suggest using an eyelash curler pre-mascara swipe, but despite making lashes look believable fuller, they also stayed lifted and perfectly curled. This is one of those holy-grail makeup items everyone needs to try in their life—the results don't disappoint! A fellow beauty editor and dear friend of mine, Kaitlyn McLintock, is ultra picky about the mascara formulas she uses. When I asked her what mascaras she tried this year that she would deem "absolutely life-changing," she named this buzzy formula from Grande Cosmetics "the best mascara for volume ever." Oh, and not only that, but it also encourages your actual lashes to live their best, longest life thanks to a luxe blend of peptides, panthenols, and natural waxes to nurture each and every hair. If you seek, plump, lush, soft lashes, Laura Mercier's Caviar tube is a game changer. It offers a really flattering glossy finish that keeps lashes soft and butterfly-kiss friendly (no icky stiffness here!) while also creating high-impact, length, and density. There are lots of naughtily named mascaras out there (Better Than Sex, Climax, I could go on and on), yet it's this super-cheeky tube from Stila (one of my all-time favorite makeup brands ever) that got—and held—my attention this year. The name doesn't lie—this formula is surprisingly lightweight and non-clumping while delivering major curl and lash hold. Another fun fact? It contains one-percent diamond power for a true jet-black color payoff and long-term lash-conditioning benefits. One of our beauty-loving copywriters here at WWW HQ says this budget-friendly mascara from Maybelline is one of the best she's ever tried and was a major standout this year in terms of her top makeup pick. "I know I'm late, but because it's wax-based, this mascara ACTUALLY holds the curl all day and makes your lashes look super long and extension-like." My new roomie (and fellow WWW social media editor) Stephanie Limiti recently turned me onto her favorite mascara, which just so happens to be one of the best curling and lifting mascaras of all time—no seriously, I don't know how it took me so long to try it! Inspired by hair rollers, it features a patent-pending Hook ‘n’ Roll brush with teeny tiny custom-designed hooks to catch, lift, and curl every single lash. The application will also last for 12 hours and features lash-living ingredients like provitamin B5 to keep everything in fighting shape. Kevyn Aucoin is one of the rare makeup brands that literally does not make one produt (not one!) that I don't love and recommend. (But really, I should buy stock in the brand.) Thus, even though I was expecting to love its curling mascara, I didn't expect to love it THIS much. It stays put all day and night—sans smudges and flakes—and boasts a protein-based formula that the brand says virtually "shrink-wraps" onto each and every lash as it dries for a separated, thick and curled finish. Truly, it's amazing. Sure, the brush might look a tad scary on this curling mascara from YSL, but it does the job and it does the job well. It has amazing ingredients like coconut, walnut leaf, and bamboo oils to keep lashes conditioned, long, and glossy while also giving crazy curl and definition.  Up next, 3 Holiday Hair Looks You Can Do in Fewer Than 5 Steps

Treat-yo-self kinda day ❤️ I went to Ulta in Upper East Side originally planning to buy the Kylie Skin package but they didn't have it (and it was the only Ulta store near my hotel). So instead I got me some cute stuff from Kylie Jenner Cosmetics & Tarte: 1. Kylie Jenner's Burgundy Palette 2. Kylie Jenner lipsticks in Vacay Mate and Flirtini Mate shades 3. Kylie Jenner velvet liquid lipstick in Surprise Me shade 4. Kylie Jenner lip kit in Boss shade 5. Tarte's Tarteist Pro Glow to Go highlight&contour palette And there's a Sephora in Chelsea so I got me some: 1. Fenty Beauty's Bronzer in Sun Stalk'r shade (that I wanna use as face powder) 2. Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler (cos I know this is a must-have) #beautyhaul #newyork https://www.instagram.com/p/B2bgnltH0tR/?igshid=rm3hw6bfvaxl

[AWARD SHOW]
At Oscar Awards in 2015 Behati’s makeup artist Monika Blunder created the most gorgeous beauty look. Here is a complete list of the products she used and the steps to achieve this look:
Tumblr media
She first applied Nars 'Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer' ($45) in shade ‘St. Moriz' with the help of IT Cosmetics ‘Velvet Luxe Flawless Face Foundation #311' ($38).
Tumblr media
Monika then filled in her brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills 'Brow Wiz' ($21)
Tumblr media
After brows, she applied MAC’s 'Pro Long Wear Paint Pot’ - in 'Painterly' ($22) on Behati's lids, keeping her eyes very simple but also super bright. She did it with this Sigma Beauty’s 'F70 - Concealer brush' ($15)
Tumblr media
To make Behati's lashes look fuller and to add definition to her eyes, Monika used MAC’s 'Carbon - Eye Shadow' ($16) *super* close to the lash line for a "barely there effect". To do so, she used Laura Mercier’s 'Flat Eye Liner Brush' ($26)
Tumblr media
Next, to make Behati's lashes stand out, Monika curled them using Kevyn Aucoin 'Eyelash Curler' ($21). I've never curled my lashes with this kind of things; they really freak me out!
Tumblr media
After curling Behati’s lashes, her makeup artist applied two coats of Dior Makeup 'Diorshow Iconic Mascara’ in black ($29.50). Bee is not the only celeb who loves is Dior mascara- bestie Lily Aldridge is also a fan.
Tumblr media
To finish off her killer lashes, Monika added these Ardell Lashes 'Individual Combo Flare Lash Starter Kit' ($11.99) - featuring three in flare short & thee in flare medium to add volume and length.
Tumblr media
To highlight the eye area she applied NARS 'Radiant Creamy Concealer' in 'Ginger'* ($30) under the eyes, inner corners and sides of the nose with a Beauty Blender 'Micro.mini Pro' ($18) — *this has golden undertone and its for medium complexion
Tumblr media
With the IT Cosmetics 'Airbrush Blurring Concealer Brush #103' ($16), Monika applied the Charlotte Tilbury 'Airbrush Flawless Finish' in shade 2 Medium (£33) on the T-zone and under the eyes, to set the make up and keep those areas shine-free all night.
Tumblr media
To add more dimension to her face, Monika did just a little bit of contouring. With the help of the Charlotte Tilbury 'Powder & Sculpt Brush’ (£35) she applied Too Faced 'Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer' ($30) on her cheeks and temples.
Tumblr media
On the apple of the cheeks, Monika applied NARS 'Dual Intensity Blush' in 'Frenzy' - both colors combined - ($45) with the NARS 'Yachiyo Kabuki Brush' ($55).
Additionally, Monika used the same blush under the brow bone and on the cheeks, right above the contour with Bobbi Brown’s ‘Eye Blender Brush' ($37)
Tumblr media
The highlight of this look are without a doubt the lips 💋 This was achieved using NARS 'Velvet Matte Lip Pencil’ in 'Mysterious Red' ($27). To distribute the product evenly and keep it tidy, Monika used the Sigma Beauty 'Lip Brush L05' ($15)
To ensure Bee’s lipstick didn’t bleed, she applied Charlotte Tilbury’s 'Airbrush Flawless Finish' in shade 2 to the borders of the lips with Bobbi Brown’s ‘Eye Blender Brush' ($37)
Tumblr media
To recreate Behati's hair style, part your hair down the center and secure in a low pony. Twist the pony and secure with bobby pins. Liberally spray some hairspray for shine and hold. I'd suggest using Moroccan Oil 'Luminous Hairspray’ ($22)* — *"This hairspray is perfect if you hate sticky feeling and the stiffness some hairsprays leave. It’s light, smells amazing, and leaves your hair moisturized while still providing decent hold" (thanks to @suzigrapefruit for the review - visit her blog more info on cruelty free products! 🐰❤ www.crueltyfreekitty.com)
