Do you like poetry, Zal? What are your favorites?

OK so ... I don’t seek out poetry and I don’t read poetry and for a while I said I didn’t really like or care for poetry but then I met a lot of poets last summer during a writers’ conference and I roomed with one and I listened to them at their readings and was incredibly moved and I realized that I just need to listen to poetry I like instead of trying to read it, I need it to be performed --- unless they do the poet voice, if they do the poet voice I check out --- so Emily Jungmin Yoon has some great poetry, Shivanee Ramlochan is a fantastic poet, Jericho Brown is an amazing poet and won the Pulitzer this year. Vievee Francis made me cry.

And then you know, there are the legends like Maya Angelous and Linton Kewsi Johnson and Miss Lou.

who would you cast as everyone

fuck this is really hard ok…

Bruce Wayne is currently Ben Affleck and I don’t want to change that (i think he’s a good bruce wayne, i think his batman could use some work but overall i’m not mad)

For Dick Grayson I kinda see Ben Barnes as him I think he would be able to have fun with the role, and do the stunts (he was the chronicles of narnia and is currently in westworld) 

For Babs I kinda love Nathalie Emmanuel for her and I think she would make an amazing Babs. She’s currently in Game of Thrones but she also played a hacker in Fast and Furious and while she hasn’t had many big roles, when the camera is on her you can’t look away.

For Jason Todd I like Diego Boneta or Santiago Segura. Santiago was in Scream the tv show and he’s also in 47 meters down but I think he could play the role really good and Diego has been in things like Scream Queens and Rock of Ages but I have faith in either of them

For Stephanie Brown I see Kiernan Shipka. She’s best known for Mad Men but I not only think she totally looks like Steph, she also is a black belt in taekwondo so she could do the fighting scenes

We’ve all accepted Ryan Potter as Tim Drake, right?

For Cass I kinda like Kiko Mizuhara, I don’t have any other reason other then I like her and I think she could play the role well

For Duke I really really like Kewsi Boakye. He’s only done kids shows so far but I think he has a lot of potential and would do the role of Duke awesomely (and maybe people would stop forgetting about him if he got in a movie)

For Harper I like Brianna Hildebrand. I know it will probably never happen because she is Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool, but a girl can dream

For Damian I like an actor named Riley Lio. Again, he’s mostly done kids stuff but I like him for Damian and have faith that he could do it.

For Kate I really like Alexandra Breckenridge when she has her red hair. She was in American Horror Story Season 1 as Moira. She can act, she’s not afraid of kissing ladies, and she’s not afraid of getting bloodied up so like she’s perfect

For Luke I really like John Boyega even though I know that will never happen because he’s busy with Star Wars but like, how perfect would John Boyega as Luke be? Just think about it because I can’t stop.

For Alfred I like Bernie Kopell. He looks like a really sweet old guy who would constantly be giving advice while being sassy. Plus he was the original get smart, how cool is that?
