Day 6 - Cokertme to Bodrum Marina. 45nm

Last day on the water - always sad but we made sure we got a good last sail before handing the lovely Dufour 380 back to Kiriacoulis. 

Very light airs as we left at 0950. The wind came up just before midday giving 6-7 knots boat speed. We anchored at Pabuc Burnu in 3 metres for a quick lunch break. Had some anchor issues given the rocks here but got away after some tight manoeuvring. 

We now headed West and then NW in the channel between the mainland and Karaada. We also joined in with a local regatta and tacked hard up the channel in good winds of 27-30 knots giving us up to 8 knots boat speed. A little slower than the race boats!

We were due to return the yacht by 1800 - we actually got in a little early which turned out to be a good move given the gathering queue of boats waiting to both re-fuel and have waste pumped. So we hovered for a good 20 minutes waiting our turn - mindful of departing ferries and arriving Gulets. Our fuel bill was pretty low - only 35 litres needed (costing 145 TL) and then a further €18 to pump out our holding tank (a charge the booking agents failed to inform us of). 

More help from the marina team to find us a berth - very busy due to the regatta. Tied up on a mooring line and two stern lines by 1815.

A great week on the boat. Fabulous weather - constant sun and consistent wind. Coupled with the super helpful restaurants (with jetties or moorings) and lovely local people - this makes for a fantastic charter area. We hope to return and perhaps looking further south next time.
