October was eighth month of Roman calendar (octō = 8) which began with March. When calendar was reformed, January & February were added so October became 10th month, but retained its original name. [3C Roman mosaic from El Djem, Tunisia, now in Musée Archéologique, Sousse]

A house with character & soul
I feel so fortunate for all the different types of homes we have the opportunity to work in... but it's the houses with charm and original detail that the team and I love to refresh and finesse.
These old homes are where we have the most fun and dig deep into the details.
Just wait til you see the before photos...

"Upward" by Vasily Kandinsky is a painting that exemplifies his transition from figurative painting to his iconic abstract style. Created in 1929, during his time at the Bauhaus, a famous German art school that emphasized the integration of art, design, and technology, this work is part of Kandinsky's exploration of the spiritual in art through abstract forms and vibrant colors.
The painting features a complex, dynamic composition with geometric and amorphous shapes floating against a richly colored background. The title "Upward" suggests a movement or aspiration towards spiritual and metaphysical realms, which is a recurring theme in Kandinsky's work. He believed that colors and shapes had intrinsic spiritual values and could evoke specific emotions or spiritual states in the viewer.
"Upward" is a great example of how Kandinsky used form and color to go beyond the visual to invoke a deeper resonance with the viewer, aiming to express his inner experiences and the spiritual truths he perceived. This painting, like much of his later work, is a visual representation of his theories on art, which he detailed in his writings, particularly in his book "Concerning the Spiritual in Art."

A London apartment that feels like a country house in miniature
Decorator Chloe Willis' own London house is not just a showcase of her skills, but a marvel in creating a comfortable country feel in the heart of the cit

For @chloe.e.willis,
📸 @james_mcdonald_photography 🖊@serena_fokschaner
