a/n: I’m a summer girlie and I wanted to remake the previous surfer! Riri story from my old acc so here…yeah. And I had to completely scrap a mechanic! Riri story so.

“Y/N, the water is not bad at all.” Riri sighs as she rubs sunscreen into your back. You ignore her words and lean back into her front. You’ve never been much of a swimmer, or a beach person. You hate how the grains of sand stick to your skin, how harsh the sun gets, and the worst part, the salty water.

“I ain’t going.” You huff, feeling Riri’s chilly and very wet hands lower and massage sunscreen into your arms. Despite how chilly the water has gotten on her skin, she’s still warm. You feel the bare skin of her chest once your cheek presses against it.

“I’m telling you it’s not that bad, baby.“ she insists. She’s always loved the water. Your second date was by a lake. She had jumped in, she had played a prank on you and stayed underwater for way longer than she needed to so you had no choice but to jump in, just to find out that she was perfectly fine. Pissed didn’t describe the word for how you felt at the time, but you laughed it off after a good two seconds.

Not only does she love swimming, she loves surfing. She has many flashy talents, engineering, and building, but the ones you like watching her do best are hidden, her knitting, her surfing, her cooking,g and oddly enough, she can juggle very well.

“There are sharks in water, did you know that? Sharks and jellyfish that’ll suck the life out of me.” You emphasize already picturing the stupid grin on her face.

“Don’t say any stupid shit, right now. I’m being fucking serious.” You say only to feel her and hear her laugh into your shoulder. She kisses your skin and lowers her hand so it settles into the curve of your waist.

You tune into the sound of the waves and watch the water crash into sand just to pull away. You may hate the water but you can’t deny it’s beauty.

“I think I’m gonna go back in for like five seconds, is that okay?” She questions while lovingly rubbing your arm.

“You got that.” You reply as she gives you one last squeeze in her arms. She lets go after a second and you watch her head back towards the water with her board.

You're gonna be here much longer than five seconds.
