When you have time could you do a one shot of poppy fan girling over the fact that her bf is in two famous boy bands? I wish the movie gave a little more of it focused on him because the adoration is so cute to me.
Yes, here it is! :D
Surprise (a Trolls fanfic)
“Hey, Branch? It’s almost showtime, I was just thinking that maybe we could…”
The Pop Queen cut off her own question with an enormous gasp.
“WHHHHHAAAAAAT?!?!”
It was simply impossible for her to believe the sight in front of her. Granted, she knew some of what she would find when she ventured backstage to find her boyfriend. She knew of his brothers, and of how they were the sensational boyband known as BroZone. But what she did not at all anticipate were the four other Trolls who made up the other insanely popular boyband that there had been back in the day.
And, recalling that that band had had five members - and seeing that her boyfriend was costumed to the same chic style they were wearing at that moment - it suddenly all made sense in a whirlwind of revelation.
“Kismet?” she exclaimed in a squeak, pointing a shaky hand at Branch. “You were in BroZone AND Kismet? And you… didn’t… tell me?!” She shot her gaze at the brothers. “Guys, did you know about this?”
They hurriedly denied.
“I’m just as surprised as you are, Pops,” John Dory admitted.
“Not a clue,” Bruce answered.
“Nope,” Clay said, putting his hands up and taking a couple steps back, while Floyd replied with a mystified “Uh-uh,” and a small shake of his head.
At this point, Poppy wasn’t even sure how she was still able to keep standing there - she was trembling so much from the excitement building up inside of her, she was just about ready to collapse!
Branch himself shrugged, keeping collected. “Surprise,” he chuckled.
Poppy couldn’t help herself anymore. Forgetting about everything but being filled with happiness - and not being able to coherently form any other sentences - she rushed forward and threw her arms around Branch’s neck, screaming in delight. Then, she rushed to hug each of his friends, taking Hype, Ablaze, Boom, and Trickee off guard with her uncontained enthusiasm and bone-crushing embrace. And then still, she leapt over towards JD, Bruce, Clay, and Floyd, hugging them for good measure, too!
Hype shook his blue head with a smirk. "Well, that's some girl you got there, Branch!" he exclaimed.
"And this is some sneaky secret-keeping boyband-extraordinaire boyfriend I've got!!" Poppy shouted, finding her voice again and nearly dizzying all nine men with all her jumping up-and-down on the spot. And now that she was speaking again, she couldn’t seem to stop! The words tumbled out of her a hundred miles a minute.
“This is incredible! I really really REALLY can’t believe this! I’m so excited I could SCREAM! I think I will scream! AAAIIYYIII!!! Okay, okay, I’m done now. No, just kidding, I’m actually not. AHGHGH! I’m not gonna be over this for, like, a SUPER long time! I, like, REALLY need all of your autographs, too. Ooo! And a picture! Well, more like a dozen pictures with you guys. And then I’m gonna need copies! And then copies of the copies!! And… and… would it be weird if I fainted right now? Because I totally feel like I’m gonna faint right now, hehe!”
And she did. Expended, she keeled over with that ear-to-ear smile still plastered on her face. Branch caught her right before she fell to the ground, and carried her in his arms.
“I’ll be back in a sec,” he said to his friends and brothers, smirking at the Pop Queen. “I’m gonna get her situated in the front row. Then we can get this show rolling, alright?”
And that’s just what he did, leaving Kismet and BroZone to themselves.
Both boybands looked at each other awkwardly, not sure what to say to each other. At least, until Floyd broke the ice, smiling politely.
“So… how did you guys meet Branch?”

Intrusion (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: Poppy and Branch are out, seeking peace, quiet, and each other. Though, with four not-so-discreet snoopers around, that may not be so much of a possibility
A/N: Welcome to the next oneshot collection I've planned for TBT, "Brodacious!" (Also found on AO3, Wattpad, and Fanfiction.net under the same name) Can't wait to write for the Main 7, but of course, going to kick things off with a little Broppy ;) Think of this first one as a new edition (haha) of my oneshot from Trolls 3.0 "Setting the Mood" (ch 11) Rated G!
_________________________________________
Being a queen was a lot of work.
Branch knew this about Poppy, even before she had officially placed the crown on her head and received the title. Seeing King Peppy run Pop village, and then Poppy succeeding him, he could tell that the duties eventually took their toll on the two Trolls.
But, in turn, that’s what made quiet moments more appreciated. The times where she’d have a break to share alongside Branch for just the two of them to do as they pleased were always cherished, even if it was something simple like staying in his bunker, cuddled on the couch, eating cupcakes and other sweets while whispering silly but sweet things to one another. Or whether it was something a little more planned, like the picnic date he’d taken her out for that evening.
Twilight had fallen, and the sky was painted a beautiful gradient shade of orange and purple. Stars began to dot the sky, and the glow bugs began to flutter out, adding beauty to the scene around them. Though to Branch, nothing was more beautiful than the sight of the pretty pink-haired Troll that he was proud to call his girlfriend, even if she had a little bit of frosting stuck to her cheek from the cupcake she was eating. But it was not to worry. That’s why she had him. He was her partner, the metaphorical king to her queen, and the cupcake-frosting-wiper to her cupcake-frosting-mess.
He chuckled, scooting a little closer and setting his own cupcake down on the picnic blanket so that he could reach up and dab at her cheek with a napkin. She giggled in spite of herself and not being more cautious to not make such a mess eating, and then looked up gratefully into his deep, blue eyes. Branch felt himself entranced by her fuchsia gaze as well, and his hand lingered on her cheek, using his thumb to caress the skin where her cute freckles were. The moment was so perfect – why, it even sounded like there was sweet music going off in his head just from looking at her so.
But… maybe it wasn’t just in his head. Poppy blinked, coming out of her trance, and perked an ear. Branch did too, glancing around but not seeing anyone around just yet. Then he heard the voices a little more clearly – four very distinct and recognizable voices - and some rustling in the nearby bushes as an indicator of where it was coming from.
“Oh, oh-oh-oh, yeaheahah, come on, come on
Oh, oh-oh-oh, Sha-la-lala-la, la-lala, mmm-hmmm…”
Not making a whole lot of effort to hide themselves much, Branch and Poppy could see the heads of John Dory, Clay, and Floyd peeking out from behind the bushes, harmonizing a melody, while Bruce took on the main vocals.
“There, you see her,
Sitting there across the way,
She don’t got a lot to say, but there’s something about her...
And you don’t know why but you’re dying to try
You wanna, kiss the girl…”
Branch rolled his eyes as his other brothers added their own voices.
“Yeah, you want her,
Look at her you know you do,
Its possible she wants you to,
But there’s one way to ask her
One way to ask her
One way to ask her…
Boy, you better do it soon,
No time would be better,
And it don't take a word, not a single word,
Go on, and kiss the girl, kiss the girl…”
Poppy giggled a little at their antics, but then grimaced a little upon seeing the rather annoyed look on Branch’s face. She knew that Branch definitely didn’t like this. She gently patted his hand. “Hey,” she said softly, “we can move somewhere else, you know.”
Branch glanced at her a bit deadpanned, but then a slight smirk tugged the corner of his lip. “Actually, I’d rather take the advice.”
And before Poppy could question what was going on, she was promptly tugged towards his face, his lips enveloping hers. Poppy sighed gratefully and returned the kiss as an eruption of wolf-whistles and jeering came from the other side of the bush.
“Woo-hoo! Way to go Branch the Heartthrob 2.0!” Bruce called out.
“Cool as ice but with all the spice!” John Dory riffed.
Clay in the meantime elbowed his brothers and gestured out wildly towards the pair. “See? SEE? Serious Boy Clay still has a couple of old tricks up his sleeve!”
“Way to go, Bromeo!” Floyd shouted to Branch encouragingly, clapping his hands.
But Poppy and Branch remained deaf to the brothers, their only focus being on the passion that they ignited between each other.

How do you think Trolls World Tour would’ve played out if Branch reunited with Floyd who was living with the rock trolls but fled when he heard of Barb’s plan to find help to stop her only to run into Poppy and his little brother all grown up?
I think it perhaps would have played out a little something like this 🙂:
Between a Rock and a Hard Place (a Trolls fanfic)
“AAAHHHHHHH!”
The scream startled Branch and Poppy, the pair of them taken aback by the sight of their friend, Biggie, frantically scurrying through the crowd of Trolls in the Village’s clearing. The cause of his fear was made apparent when the Trolls noticed a fuzzy, bat-like creature zipping along right behind him, flapping its leathery, black wings persistently, her bugged red eyes fixed unwaveringly on him.
“Help!” Biggie cried out in desperation. “I’m being harangued by a monster!”
Giving up trying to outrun it, the big blue Troll crouched down and put his hands over his head, hoping it would perhaps go away. But, it didn’t. The creature beat its wings against him and made angry hissing sounds.
“Someone stop it!” he whimpered helplessly.
Luckily, as he’d wished, it was right at that moment that a shock of magenta hair whipped out and snatched the creature from the air. Relief passed through the Trolls, until they realized that it was not the Pop Queen who had grabbed the critter. In fact, it was nobody that the village knew.
But - standing there in the clearing donning black shorts with a large belt buckle, and a simple, black, pearl earring - the Troll seemed to know exactly what he was doing.
“Gotcha! Okay, shhh, shh… Now calm down,... who’s a good girl? You’re a good girl…”
The batty creature struggled in the newcomer’s grasp for a second, not appreciating being held steadfast, but quickly was soothed as the Troll rubbed its furry little belly and spoke hushedly. Pretty soon, its flapping had stopped entirely and purred, the vibration rumbling against his teal hand.
Once the others could sense no more imminent danger, they began to gather a little closer, whispering among themselves.
“Who is that?” Legsly asked, pointing at the new Troll. “And what is that thing he’s holding?” she added, referring to the critter.
“It’s creepy!” Cooper shuddered, shielding his eyes from the creature.
“It’s scary!” Satin and Chenille chimed at the same time.
“And… naAaAAasty,” Guy Diamond yelped in his techno-like voice.
“Hold me, Daddy!” Tiny Diamond whimpered in his deep voice, letting his father clutch him close for protection.
Suddenly realizing that all the attention had gone to him, the newcomer shrunk under everybody’s gaze, bashfully tucking his head down between his shoulders and allowing his magenta bangs to fall over his face, so that it shielded his left eye.
Branch’s eyes narrowed at him, though he could feel that his gaze was not as intense as he would’ve liked for it to be. Reason being, there was something strangely familiar about this Troll. What it was, though, he couldn’t pinpoint right away. That hair, that voice… he could’ve sworn he’d seen and heard it, if long ago in his memory.
As it turned out, it wasn’t a much different situation for the new Troll, either. He looked at him curiously, mirroring Branch by slightly tilting his head and narrowing his eyes, as if there too was something he was trying to figure out. It was only when he shifted his gaze down to the leafy green vest Branch was wearing that things clicked. Recognition seemed to flash across his face in an instant, the magenta-haired Troll lifting his eyes to meet Branch’s and looking as though he were about to say something. But before he could…
“‘To Queen Poppy’?” Poppy read aloud from a scroll that the creature had dropped on the ground. She was confused to see her name written on it, and continued to read. “’Barb, Queen of Rock, announces her One Nation of Trolls Under Rock World Tour. Bring your string to the biggest party in the world has ever seen.’” Poppy beamed. “Oh, don’t worry everyone. It’s an invitation!”
The Trolls chattered excitedly. A party? With games and presents and glitter galore? That sounded like fun!
“But why does she need our string?” Cooper questioned.
“And what does ‘Queen of Rock’ mean? Who is she?” Poppy asked aloud.
“You don’t wanna know.”
Poppy whirled around to face the newcomer, his silence having her almost forget entirely that he was even there. “Trust me,” he said again, “you don’t.”
The Pop Queen was startled to hear such a thing. “But… it’s a party!” she exclaimed.
“Not the kind you wanna go to,” the Troll replied without hesitation. “Not with what the Hard Rockers have planned…”
Poppy shook her head. “But who are they?”
“Nobody!” King Peppy shouted, hurrying into the crowd of Trolls, sidling up to his daughter’s side and tearing the invitation from her hand. He proceeded to crumble it in a frenzy, all while crying out hysterically. “Nobody saw anything! Nothing to see here!” He then turned to the magenta-haired Troll and began to shove him away. “Young man, go back to where you came from! Now, please!”
“Whoa, whoa, Dad!” Poppy called, touching her father on the shoulder. He yelped, jolting and looking at her wildly. Popy was baffled. Her Dad was kicking out a Troll? What in the world for? She took his hands in hers in and spoke soothingly to calm him. “Dad, what’s going on?”
King Peppy gazed deeply into her eyes for a moment, peering between her and the new Troll, and then sighed.
“Oh, Poppy,” he moaned, “I’ve long feared this day would come. I was hoping to protect you from this.”
Poppy raised an eyebrow. “Protect me?” she asked. “I’m not a little kid anymore, Dad. I’m the queen now.”
“You’re right,” King Peppy agreed, nodding slowly. “The truth is… we are not alone in this world…”
Mr. Dinkles made a spooky sound to accompany King Peppy’s explanation. Biggie stuck a finger in his pet form’s round mouth.
“Shhh!” Biggie said to his little friend.
“You see, there are other kinds of Trolls,” King Peppy told everyone. The Trolls around him were silent for a moment, taking this in. Other Trolls? What did King Peppy mean?”
“Wow, really?” Poppy said enthusiastically. “Dad, that’s great! The more Trolls, the merrier!”
The newcomer scoffed. “If only it were that easy,” he mumbled.
King Peppy cut his eyes to him, frowning. “Young man, this conversation does not involve you. I’ve asked you to leave once… don’t make me have to call security!” He jerked a thumb over to where Smidge was standing, the little Troll cracking her knuckles in anticipation of a potential scuffle.
The Troll gulped at the sight, and quickly stammered an explanation. “N-no! Please, I’m not here to cause trouble. I came here to help you guys.”
But when Peppy did not relax, and Poppy began to show signs of discomfort at the confrontation, Branch stepped in to enforce the matter.
“You heard him,” he stated simply, but with a hardness to his voice that spoke more volumes alongside the clenched fists at his side.
“I know,” he replied. “But I can’t just leave you guys in danger, Branch.”
“We’re more than capable of taking care of our - Wait, what?” Branch blinked, surprised to hear this stranger call him by name. How did he know who he was?
The Troll offered a gentle smile. “It’s been a while, bro.”
The blue Troll gasped, realizing exactly who this was and being unable to believe it. All the years he waited and waited, until he couldn't anymore, and now he was back? He could almost feel tears pooling in his eyes as a mix of conflicting emotions assaulted him.
Poppy saw the strong reaction coming from her friend, and cautiously spoke to the newcomer.
“I’m sorry... Who did you say you were, again?”
The newcomer let out a breath he was holding, tucked the bat creature under one arm and extended his other to Poppy to properly introduce himself.
“Forgive me for not doing this sooner. My name is Floyd,” he said, “and I’m Branch’s brother.”
__________________________________________
With the manner in which the Trolls in the clearing had erupted into a cacophony of noise - a mix of questions about the Troll-turned-sibling, panic-stricken worries over the idea of the existence of other strange Trolls, and even outright screaming - it came as no surprise that Peppy had ordered for them to break into a smaller group, to allow for a little more privacy.
It was here in the beautiful secluded grotto in the company of just Floyd, Poppy,  Branch, and the Snack Pack that King Peppy wove a tale unlike any other that had been heard. A story of six Tribes of Trolls, each uniquely defined by their special taste in music - Techno, Funk, Classical, Country, Rock, and Pop - and how harmony had been created as a result of it. The harmony, however, was not meant to last. Intolerance sprouted like weeds, leading to discord, leading to the ultimate separation of each tribe. But perhaps the most striking part of the tale was the revelation of their own string - the Pop string, a gorgeous pink in color and producing an equally gorgeous sound, housing the very lifeforce that made them them - the toe-tapping, finger-snapping, rump-shaking Trolls they were.
“Ohh, I get it,” Poppy murmured, “Queen Barb wants to reunite the strings so that the Trolls Kingdom can be one big party again!” The Pop Queen grinned a little. She liked the sound of that!
But Floyd shook his head. “Um, no,” he disagreed gently. “Barb has no interest whatsoever in uniting the world. She wants to destroy it. And she’s going to do it one tribe at a time until there’s none left!” He picked up the invite from where it lay (a little wrinkled, but still legible) next to the ancient scroll that King Peppy had used to depict the tale. “These invitations were just the first step. A deception. And anyone who doesn’t give up their string is going to have it taken by force.” He looked at the bat critter in his hands and sighed. “I tried to stop the invite from even reaching you guys, but I guess I wasn’t fast enough to keep up with Debbie here…”
Poppy was stunned. “B-but… why would another queen use her power for evil? Didn’t anyone try to stop her?”
“The Hard Rockers are all on board,” Floyd explained. “She managed to convince everyone that this was the best thing to do for her people. They all believed her. Well, um… except for me. But then again, I was never a true Rock Troll from the start…”
Poppy snapped her fingers. “That’s riiiight… and that’s something else I’m not understanding…” She turned on her friend. “Branch! How come you never told me you have a secret brother?!”
The blue Troll frowned. “What’s there to tell? I have no brothers.”
Floyd was confused. “Branch, what are you talking about? Just take a look at us…”
It was true. Even by sight, there was a very distinct similarity between the two of them, from their teal skin, purple noses, round face shapes, and even slight downward curve of their ears.
But Branch crossed his arms defiantly. “I have no brothers,” he said again, emphasizing each syllable, “because the day you walked out on me, you lost the chance to ever call me that again.”
“Branch, please, believe me, I was going to come back, it’s just - “
“Just what?” Branch cut in, scoffing. “You’re a liar. You never followed through with your promise.”
Floyd fiddled with his fingers. “Well, um, I mean, I’m here now, aren’t I?”
“Uh-huh… twenty years TOO LATE!” Branch turned to the others in the grotto. “Why should we believe someone like this? For all we know, he could be a spy for these ‘Hard Rock’ Trolls!” He searched his friends’ faces. Silently taking it all in, Biggie, Smidge, Cooper, Guy Diamond, and Legsly were a mixture of uncertainty and concern, not sure what to make of it.
King Peppy spoke up for them. “Branch,” he said gently, “I certainly see where you’re coming from. But… are you willing to put our tribe in danger because of it?” He shook his head. “I’m sorry, but it’s a risk I’m not willing to take.” He then waved to the Trolls. “Hurry now! We must prepare before Barb arrives! We’ve got no time to lose!”
“Dad, wait!” Poppy cried, trying to stop her him and her friends as they shuffled off. “Guys, come on! Just because they’re different doesn’t mean that the solution is fighting! Branch, help me out here, say something!”
Branch marched right by her. “Wait for me!” he called out. But as he scurried by, he was grabbed by the arm.
“Branch, wait,” Floyd pleaded. Then he turned to Poppy. “Could you, uh… give us a minute?” he asked politely.
Branch wanted to protest, but he groaned, and did not put up a fight. “I’ll meet you in a second, Poppy,” he said with a roll of his eyes.
“Oh! Um, okay…” She trudged off, sparing one last glance at them before heading off in the direction her father had gone. The two boys were left there in an awkward, tense silence.
Floyd broke it first, clearing his throat. “Wow… you’ve really grown into that vest of mine. You’re… a man now.”
Branch kept his back turned to him as he answered tersely. “Just goes to show how long it’s been.”
Floyd sighed. “Look, Branch, I know that nothing I can say is a valid enough excuse for what happened. I guess I just got so caught up with my solo career once the Rock Trolls took me in. But I swear that there wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t think about you.” He chuckled for a second. “Remember how we used to make up songs and dances? It was a lot of fun.”
It was, Branch recalled, almost wanting to smile, but he composed himself. “That’s all in the past,” he said coldly, turning to look him right in the eye. “And besides, actions speak louder than words. And the fact is that you never came back.”
Branch felt a tug at his heart when Floyd winced, hurt by his words. But then again, they were words of truth.
“You’re right,” Floyd said, “Actions do speak louder than words. And here I am now, trying to save my little brother from something that I know for sure is going to harm him. Because I want him to be safe. It was a mistake to leave him the first time. And I don’t want to lose him again.”
Branch felt himself loosening. He wanted to keep up the wall of ice he built around himself should any of his brothers try to come back into his life. But not even those walls were immune to the warmth of Floyd’s kindness. “I really want to believe you, Floyd,” he whispered, “I just don’t know if I can…”
“Then let's just take things one step at a time, okay?” And when Branch nodded, Floyd took the opportunity to extend his arms out, allowing Branch to decide whether he wanted to make a move or not.
It didn’t take long to come to that decision, though. Branch embraced Floyd in a replica of that very same night that he had left him. He squeezed tightly, wanting to confirm his physical presence, and afraid to let go should he have been a mirage this entire time.
“Awww…”
The pair broke apart, finding Poppy cooing at the scene. She grinned sheepishly upon realizing she’d intruded on the private moment.
“Oh! I’m sorry…”
“It’s all right, Poppy,” Branch assured. “We’re just about done here.”
“Oh, good,” she breathed in relief. “Well, I mean, because, I wanted to talk to you guys about Barb. We’ve gotta stop her!”
“Can’t say I disagree with the endgoal here, but the trouble comes in the ‘how,’” Floyd pointed out.
“Well, we can think about it as we get everyone safely hidden away in the bunker,” Branch said, waving them to follow.
“Bunker?” Floyd asked, coming up alongside his brother.
“Oh, it’s the coolest thing ever!” Poppy gushed. “It’s underground, and it’s got all these tunnels and rooms, and trapdoors, and… and so much cool stuff!”
Floyd beamed. “Wow, so you built the hideout, huh? I’m proud of you, Branch.”
“Hideout?” The Pop Queen echoed, curious.
There was a hint of a bashful blush in the blue Troll’s cheeks as he shrugged in reply. “Heh, well, it’s not that big of a deal…”
“Of course it is,” Floyd countered, bumping his elbow against his. “Did you even add the ten-story waterslide?”
Poppy gasped. “A waterslide in the bunker? That sounds amazing!”
But Branch shook his head. “Nah.”
“But then, how do you shower?”
Branch answered his brother’s teasing question with a little smirk. “I bathe.”

Number Six (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: After learning of Branch’s four brothers, a Troll hatches a plan against BroZone’s youngest member. What he DIDN'T anticipate was for it to be thwarted so quickly
A/N: I have nothing more to say other than this is meant to be ridiculous
__________________________________________
Creek couldn’t deny a good performance when he saw one.
If the vocals were down, the dancing was on point, and the charisma was there, then there was no way that he couldn’t award the song with a hearty round of applause.
Even if he wasn’t too fond of the performers themselves.
More specifically, the blue-haired Troll who’d carried much of the song through.
It was no secret to anyone in Pop Village (and even the neighboring tribes) of the ugly history between him and Branch. Creek was not the kind to showcase his resentments - as his mantra of inner-peace and full-centeredness were still at the core of his personal beliefs - but it did not mean that there was still that green-eyed monster lingering within, its gaze fixated primarily on the pink Pop Queen of whom he was not on fair terms with either. The one who’d perused her romantic ventures with Branch instead of him.
So while Creek’s applause for the show was actually rather genuine, the smile he’d plastered on his face was anything but. A good song was not going to be enough to change the way he felt about Branch. With narrowed eyes, he took a better look at the other performers on the stage with him – four other Trolls who, in a surprising turn of events, were actually the Troll’s brothers. The conscious in his brain was fuming – as if one Branch wasn’t enough… now, there were four others! Each one the same tealish-blue shade, with faces that made expressions that looked awfully similar to that of the youngest in their bunch. But, Creek suddenly thought with a sort of sneer, maybe this situation wasn’t at a complete loss. If they were indeed his brothers, then surely they wouldn’t know about the more recent happenings of Pop Village, given that they’d long left the town years before. Perhaps, he thought, he could leave a good enough impression on the four to potentially even befriend them, though not for the purpose of actually wanting to gain an acquaintance out of them. Using their friendship to get on Branch’s nerves, on the other hand, had a much more satisfying sound to it.
So satisfying, he thought, that he wasted no time initiating the plan.
“Bravo, bravo, well done, mates! I do say, a wonderful performance indeed,” Creek complimented once he was able to get through the mass of crowd that was surrounding the band. “A real showstopper indeed, spectacular job, Branch!”
Branch rolled his eyes and sighed. “Creek,” he said formally, crossing his arms.
John Dory cocked his head. “This guy another one of your friends?” he asked.
Bruce, Clay and Floyd exchanged a look, like, Don’t tell me you were in yet ANOTHER other boyband, too, little bro!
“I suppose you could say that,” Creek replied, a smug little smile adorning his face.
Poppy crossed her arms and scoffed. “No you can’t.”
Creek glared at her, but then chuckled. “Oh, always with the jokes, aren’t ya, princess?”
Viva sidled up next to Poppy, crossing her arms. “Hey, mister, my little sister is the queen. So show her some respect!”
“Sister,” Creek repeated, pondering, eying the golden-curled Troll. “Right. So tell me, what does that make you then, hmm?”
Viva suddenly realized she didn’t have an answer for that. On a technicality, she was the one originally intended to be Queen. But, in that case, did that make her a princess now? Or something else?
Creek took advantage of her confused silence and carried on. “As I was saying,” he said, addressing BroZone, “I’ll have you know that I was like a brother to Branch, looking out for him during those years in which he found himself gray and alone…”
“Hmph,” Branch snorted. “Right, looked after me so well that you didn’t think twice about letting me and the rest of Pop Village get eaten by Bergens!”
Clay’s eyes widened. “Whoa, whoa, hold up, what was that now?”
“Branch, you and everybody else would’ve died with a clear conscience, yeah? I was the one who made that possible. I made sure that you had no regrets going into that pot. And that is indeed ‘looking out’ don’t you think?”
“Uh… doesn’t sound much like it to me,” Bruce countered, narrowing his eyes at Creek.
“Ah, big boy, come on. I know you got more brain than brawn on you,” he said, gesturing at Bruce’s belly judgmentally. Then he moved to Floyd, still with that smug smile on his face. “Surely you understand. I must say, your fashion taste is on point. I always thought vests were overrated!”
“Umm…” Floyd said, unsure of whether to say thanks or not, and feeling rather uncomfortable.
“Ay, man, we all gotta flex the drip somehow,” Clay grumbled defensively.
Creek raised a brow at him and huffed. “Right, says the Troll in a onesie.”
Clay’s jaw dropped. How dare he call his very professional sweater-romper a onesie!
“There really are no hard feelings, my friends,” the mauve Troll stated confidently.
Friends? Bruce mouthed to Clay, who rolled his eyes. It had been only a minute or two of meeting this guy, and already they could tell there was something off between him and Branch. And defense-mode was just about to kick in.
“Why, folks could even consider me the 6th BroZone brother!” Creek pulled out an orange vest from curled greenish-blue hair and slipped it on, striking a pose. “Whaddya say, mates? Have room for one more member?”
“Ugh, are you kidding me?!” Poppy cried, unable to stop herself from blurting out. She’d had enough of this nonsense. Creek was being ridiculous!
“I didn’t ask your opinion,” he hissed at her, offering a smile at Branch and the brothers. “Come on, yeah? We’ll make a band-acious team!”
“Bro-dacious,” John Dory mumbled under his breath. He, Bruce, Clay, and Floyd exchanged a look. Then, a sly smile grew on each of the four Trolls’ faces as they turned back to him.
“All right,” Bruce said. “You can join us.”
“WHAT?!” Poppy and Viva shouted at the same time. The sisters gawked at each other, unable to believe that Branch’s brothers were really buying into this!
“But first,” Clay added, “we need to do a little, um, how you say…”
“Initiation,” Floyd finished.
Creek put up a hand. “Of course, I’d be happy to - whoaoah, hey!” The mauve Troll cut himself off midsentence when he suddenly felt himself being lifted up off the ground, four sets of arms grabbing him firmly as he protested to be let go. But maybe that wasn’t such a good idea. As he’d wished, they let him go alright - right into the lazy river!
“ACK!” he exclaimed as the cold water splashed around him and he flailed his arms.
Branch, his brothers, Poppy, and Viva all laughed hysterically from the result.
“Haha! That’s what you get for being a poser!” Clay shouted.
“Yeah! What he said!” Viva agreed.
“And a big phony!” Poppy chimed in.
“You stay away from our little bro, ya hear?” John Dory shouted to him.
“And us!” Bruce and Floyd said at the same time.
Branch was the only one who did not reply. He stood there, thrilled that the tables had been turned, and giving Creek a taste of his own medicine with the smug smile that had sprawled across his face.
“Um, Branch, who was that guy anyway?” Floyd queried.
“Right?” Viva scoffed. “What a hairball!” Suddenly she covered her mouth, blushing over the language she’d used.
Branch and Poppy exchanged a look, answering simultaneously with sighs.
“Oh, it’s a long story…”

Close Call (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: Viva’s acting funny one morning after Poppy barges into her bedroom, but does her sister even notice?
A/N: Based on an idea suggested by @chipmunkfanno1love :) **Rated M**
__________________________________________
“Viva! Viva, Viva, VIVA!!!”
Poppy's voice burst with excitement in the same manner that she so enthusiastically burst into her sister's room from their shared pod. The Pop Queen twirled on the spot, doing a little jig, allowing the Putt Putt Queen just the fractions of time she needed in order to conceal what she had to.
Viva popped up from under the duvet, sitting straight up in her bed. Sheets were wrapped tightly around her body and being held up against her chest with one hand, while the other was planted firmly on the blankets that were beside her.
“Oh! H-hey, Poppy!”
“Viva!” Poppy cried again, trembling with joy. “I'm getting married! TODAY!!”
“Yeah! I know!” Viva said, plastering a smile onto her face that she hoped didn't go off revealing the nerves that the younger Troll didn’t even seem to notice were there. “I am, like, soooo excited for you! This is the most fantast-amazing thing ever!” Then, in a more hushed voice that she directed at the blankets, she hissed, “DON'T move.”
Poppy cocked her head, breaking out of her happiness for a few seconds to be confused. “Huh?”
Viva’s eyes widened, startled at the thought that Poppy might’ve caught on, but she brushed it off with what she believed to be a convincing explanation. “Oh, sis, don’tcha know? Sometimes I gotta talk to myself! Like, if I was to jump outta bed right now, you would totally not be able to breathe with the hugenormous hug I would give ya since, y'know… you're getting married!”
She was a little proud of her new made up word, and that the mention of the marriage worked exactly like the charm that she thought it would be.
Poppy beamed, and she squealed. “I know, right?! I can hardly believe it! EEEEE!!”
“YEAH!” Viva agreed, tilting her golden-curled head (perhaps a little more tussled than usual if Poppy had been paying closer attention) meaningfully over toward the door. “You should get going. The dress isn't going to put itself on!” she giggled.
“But Veevs, aren't you coming?” Poppy extended her hand out, about to grab her sister by the wrist and haul her up, though Viva scooted away before she did.
“NO!” she yelped, a little too loudly at first, enough to perhaps raise suspicions, but she quickly recovered, clearing her throat. “I - I mean, I’ll join you in a sec, sis, gotta take a morning stretch, gather up all my energy if I wanna have enough so we can hit the dance floor later on!”
“And also so you can jump up and grab the flower bouquet,” the Pop Queen said with enough suggestion to make Viva blush.
She tittered shyly. “Oh, you know me too well, Pops!”
Poppy put her hands on her hips and eyed the pink Troll playfully. “Uh-huh, and I also know you’re probably thinking about Clay right now!”
Viva quickly turned it around before her blush could get any redder. “Oh, and you’re not thinking about Branch? And how surprised he’ll be when you show up on the altar in your usual getup?” she asked teasingly.
Poppy put her hands up. “Oh yeah, you got me there, hehe! I’ll see you in a bit, Veev!”
She bounced off merrily, bringing the Putt Putt Queen relief. She exhaled a sigh as the tension of the nerves disappeared. “Phew! That was close…”
“Please tell me I can come out now.”
Viva giggled at the mix of desperation and annoyance in the muffled voice, and tugged the blankets from the bed away. In its place sat up Clay, wearing nothing more than the relief that was on his face. “Thank goodness,” he mumbled, and then quickly amended. “I, um, I mean, nothing against your sister, V! I like when she’s around, just, um, not after… um… not…”
“Not like this,” Viva finished, nodding in understanding, gesturing at themselves. “Totally get it.”
She averted his gaze timidly, twirling the end of one of her curls, and he averted hers, scratching at his bare chest.
“Uhh… she didn’t know I was here, right?” he asked after a minute of awkward silence.
“No, Clay,” Viva assured, chuckling as she patted his hand. “You are so cute when you worry.” Then she got up, retrieving her leotard and legwarmers from the floor and tossing his cardigan at him. “You better put this back on if you don’t want Pops to suddenly burst in here again and find you au natural.” She laughed when he peeled the romper off his face, the item of clothing having landed right on his nose and hanging from there.
Clay smirked. “Huh. I’m surprised she didn’t even notice our stuff in the first place,” he said.
Viva shrugged. “What can I say? Poppy’s like that!” she giggled. “When she’s hyper, she doesn’t notice much of anything except what excites her.”
“Sounds like someone else I know,” Clay said jokingly. “You might know her too. Loves strawberry milkshakes, and braiding hair, and - “
“When green-haired dorks shut their mouths for a sec so she can kiss him already?” Viva cut in, batting her lashes and leaning towards him.
Clay grinned, leaning in to fill the gap and answering her. “Yeah… that.”

Chewed (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: Poppy confronts her father and her boyfriend on a matter that’s been bugging her
A/N: Requested by @webslingerofthegalaxy :)
__________________________________________
“Alright, folks, what'll it be tonight?”
While Poppy, Branch, and Viva were quick to reply to Bruce’s query with their orders of fricassee squid, jellyfish sliders, and nachos, Peppy took a minute for himself, humming thoughtfully at the menu in his hands.
“Hmmm… those fried clams sound delicious!” he said finally, with a nod to confirm his order.
But Bruce grimaced. “Oof, yeah, sorry I forgot to mention it, but you're not gonna wanna order those, trust me.” Then, with a dramatic lowering of his voice to a hushed whisper, he added, “Don't ask why.”
The former Pop King looked confused for a moment, but then shrugged it off. “Ah well, alright. I guess I'll take the menudo instead.”
Bruce beamed as he grabbed the menus. “Ah, much better! You'll love it. Be right back with everything, alright!”
The four watched as the purple-haired Troll scurried back to the kitchen to assist his wife with the meals, and then they turned to each other.
“Huh… I wonder what the deal is with those clams?” Viva wondered aloud.
Poppy shrugged. “Don't know! But, hopefully he won't keep it a secret for long.” The Pop Queen ensured to put emphasis on the word secret, shooting a glance at her boyfriend and her father and hoping that they caught her drift. There was something she had been meaning to address with the two of them, and now seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring it up.
But, as it was, neither one of them had taken notice. Branch and King Peppy’s gazes had drifted towards the karaoke stage, where their attention was taken by a performer's rendition of “Vacation.”
Viva’s face lit. “Ooo, I love this song!” she exclaimed. Then, getting an idea, she turned to Peppy. “Daddy, we should all go on there next!”
King Peppy, however, kindly declined, waving a hand. “Oho, no dear, I couldn't.”
“Sure you could!” Viva encouraged. “Poppy, Branch, and I did just the other day! Right?”
“Uh-huh!” the pink Troll agreed, while the blue nodded.
“And you all were wonderful,” Peppy complimented. “But, I'm afraid I can't sing and dance the way you and your band do,” he explained. “And besides… I've already thrown my back out one too many times in the morning songs as it is!” He admitted it with a sheepish grin, rubbing where the ache still lingered.
Viva pouted a little, but Peppy offered her reassurance. “But don't worry - I'll be right in the front row, cheering you on. I wouldn't miss one of your performances for the world!”
Viva grinned and nudged her sister. “Remember how excited you got when Branch asked you to join the band?” she giggled.
“Uh, yeah! How can I forget!” Poppy exclaimed, shooting a grateful glance at her boyfriend.
Branch chuckled. “Yeah, neither can I.”
“And me neither!” Peppy pitched in, putting one of his hands on his heart, and the other on Branch’s shoulder. “My boy, you nearly startled me out of my wits! If I hadn't known any better, I would've thought your ‘proposal’ would have ended differently.”
“You mean like my sis and Branch getting married?” Viva blurted gleefully. Her words caused the pink and blue Trolls to grow bashful, and Peppy's eyes to widen. Viva rolled her eyes. “Come on, guys, is it really that weird now? I've already planned out the flower colors for your bouquet, you know!”
Poppy gasped. “Viva!”
“Sis, you know it's gonna happen one day! Don't act so surprised!”
Poppy did little more than blush, and Branch cleared his throat, noticing how awkward King Peppy was looking. “Well, only if you will approve, sir,” Branch said respectfully.
King Peppy suddenly looked guilty and sighed. “Of course I do, my boy. And I'm sorry if I made you think otherwise. I guess it's just… I can't believe my little girl has already grown up so fast!”
“Tell me about it!” Viva shouted. “The last time I saw her she was so teeny weeny!” she giggled, showcasing the size with her hands.
“Yes,” King Peppy laughed, smiling at both his daughters. He then continued, addressing Branch. “You’ll make a fine partner for my Poppy. And an excellent king, too!”
Branch cocked his head, pleasantly surprised to hear this. “Really?”
“Indeed,” Peppy replied without hesitation. “Why, you remind me much of myself!”
The blue Troll glowed. “Um… how?” he asked curiously.
“Maybe how you both like to keep secrets from me?”
This time, Poppy’s statement did not go unnoticed by Peppy or Branch. Both Trolls turned to her, coming face-to-face with the sudden stern expression she wore on her face.
“Huh?” Branch practically squeaked.
“Don’t pretend like you don’t know!” she chided. “You said nothing about being in not just one, but TWO super amazing boybands! I have every single record of BroZone and Kismet!”
Branch tried to stammer a response. “Well, I, um… you see, it’s just that - “
“And then, to top it off, you don’t tell me that you had FOUR brothers? Oh no, not one, not, two, not even three - but FOUR?!”
“Well, um…” Branch tried again, “Yooouu… didn’t tell me you had a sister!” he defended, gesturing at Viva.
“I didn’t know!” Poppy exclaimed. “Wanna know why I didn’t know?!” She crossed her arms at her father, who wished he could pull a hocus-pocus and disappear right then and there.
Viva cast Peppy nearly the same identical look Poppy was giving him. “She’s got a point, Dad. Poppy had no clue who I was when we met up again!”
“Yeah! That's just like when you didn’t tell me about all the other music tribes!”
Peppy put his hands up and waved them in a calming motion. “Poppy, darling, you know I'm incredibly regretful for not having told you either one of those things. I was just trying - “
“To protect me,” Poppy finished at the same time he did. She let the initial disappointment in her Dad fizzle away so she could give him a sincere look. “Dad, I love you… and, as a family, I want us to be honest with each other, no matter how scary or painful or downright shocking the truth might be! We can work through it… okay?” She opened her arms for him, and he leaned towards her so they could share a hug.
“Yes, Poppy. I'm so sorry…”
This time, Poppy giggled. “You don't have to keep apologizing, Dad. I've forgiven you, like, a dozen times!”
“Right, yes,” he mumbled rather meekly, and then straightened himself out. They smiled at each other, and then Poppy glared at Branch.
“Now. As for you…”
Branch sighed. “You're right, Poppy. As a friend, and girlfriend, I trust you. I'll open up to you more, I promise… is there anything I can do to make up for the secrets I did keep?”
Poppy liked this question, and pretended to tap her chin and give it deep thought. “Hmmm… well, you could let me have a couple bites of the sliders you ordered…” she said.
But Branch could tell there was more she wanted to add to that. “And?” he prompted.
She batted her lashes and whispered. “...And also maybe give me a kiss?”
Her boyfriend’s eyes widened. “In front of your Dad?”
Having been in earshot, Peppy chuckled. “Branch, there's nothing to worry about. You two are in love.” He gestured his hand out, as if saying, “Now, go on with it!”
So Branch did. He kissed Poppy sweetly, Peppy looking on proudly and Viva tucking her hands under her chin while gushing.
“Awwww, that’s exactly how I imagine your wedding smooch to be!” the golden-curled Troll squealed.
“Viva!”
“STOP DENYING WHAT’S TRUE, SIS!!”

Sure :)
Baby No More (a Trolls fanfic)
It was only after the exciting hype of the evening had fizzled down into something more cool and collected that Branch and Poppy found the opportune moment to do as any couple would when they had a lovely sunset and each other - take a romantic stroll along the beach.
His larger blue hand gently entwined with her delicate pink one, Branch followed alongside his girlfriend’s light, energetic steps as she merrily skipped, swinging their conjoined arms back and forth, and guiding them to and fro from the white, foamy surf as it washed up against the shore.
Branch shook his head at her antics. “Don’t you ever get tired?” he questioned.
“Nope!” she chirped, not a hint of hesitation in her voice.
“Well,” Branch began to reply, “I know I’d be after all that dancing.”
“Come on, Branch, it was fun!” Poppy chided. “What’s the use of being in a band if you can’t bust out a move, huh?”
“Singing,” the blue Troll replied easily. “Isn’t that the most important thing of being in a band?”
“The most important thing about being in a band is having fun with your bandmates and your music,” Poppy stated matter-of-factly, “and I should know since” - she paused to giggle - “I’m in a band now!” She gave a delighted squeal and stopped them in their tracks so that she could give him a big hug. “Oh thank you, so, so much, Branch!!”
“Poppy, you don’t have to thank me,” Branch wheezed, nearly out of breath from the tightness of her embrace, “I mean, you knew it was gonna happen eventually, right?”
“NO!” she exclaimed with a flail of her arms. “I was SO not expecting that. Do you know how BIG this is for me?!” She grabbed him by the shoulders and looked him right in the eyes. “I’ve been wanting to dance with BroZone since I was a little girl! Oh, and it was BETTER than I could’ve ever hoped for!”
Branch chuckled when her fangirl-mode kicked in hard, the Pop Queen fanning herself and rapidly pacing back and forth on the sand. “Oh my gosh, I STILL can’t believe it! Me onstage with The Leader! And The Heartthrob! And The Fun Boy and The Sensitive One!…”
The blue Troll rolled his eyes. “Yeah, we’re prooobably gonna have to think up new nicknames to give ‘em…”
She turned on him with a sparkle in her eyes. “Aw, and we definitely can’t forget about you, Bitty B the Baby!” She squished his cheeks in a loving manner, giggling, though Branch didn’t quite share in the amusement she had.
“... and we’re starting with mine,” he finished, continuing off of his earlier statement. He gently removed her hands from his face and held onto them firmly, speaking to her slowly so she could hear him very clearly. “Poppy, you do know that I am NOT a baby anymore, right?”
“Yeah, of course I know,” Poppy laughed. “I mean, a baby wouldn’t be able to do this, would he?” Batting her lashes, she leaned in closer to his face, eyes fluttering shut and lips puckering slightly. Branch felt his heart race. Poppy was getting far more comfortable exchanging kisses more frequently with him, and he was certainly not going to be one to deny her whenever she wanted one.
“No, he wouldn’t,” Branch whispered, right before he closed the gap and pressed his mouth to hers.  Her lips were warm and soft, perfectly smooth against his like they always were, nearly able to take him away completely from the world around him - if it wasn't for the rambunctious cheering that sounded.
“All right, YEAH! Now that’s how a man gets things done!”
Branch groaned, breaking apart from the sweet smooch earlier than he would have liked to shoot a glare at the only brother who probably would interrupt such a moment without seeing anything wrong with it (and, who always seemed to pop in out of nowhere at just the wrong moments!).
When John Dory caught his intense gaze, he became sheepish and stammered an apology. “Whoops! Oh, sorry… I guess I probably shoulda waited till afterwards to start cheerin’ then, huh?”
“Yeah,” Branch answered tersely, crossing his arms.
“Heh, my bad! Um, see you later, I guess?” JD said, not waiting for a reply and scampering off to wherever he had so suddenly come from.
Branch rolled his eyes and met Poppy’s gaze. “I think we should make his new nickname ‘The Blockhead.’”
Poppy gasped and shoved him in the shoulder. “Branch! That’s mean!”
He laughed. “It’s just a joke, Poppy, I’m kidding.”
“Good,” she huffed. Grabbing his hand, she leaned in close to him again. “Now, where were we?”
Branch smirked and met her halfway, never one to be tired of displaying his affection to her.
**********************************************************
(btw, @happyqueenandgrumpydork, for the other oneshot request of yours about the broppy kiss at the end of TBT, did you want the perspective of Branch or Poppy? I'm going to work on writing it this weekend 🙂)

Visitor (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: A month after his imprisonment, Veneer is paid a visit from someone he didn’t think he’d ever see again
__________________________________________
“Aw, no…”
Veneer moaned to himself, slumping down on his cot and facepalming in dismay. He was so not in the mood for this. He never was. And today it was hitting especially hard. Maybe because it had been exactly a month since his incarceration. Maybe because his attempt to speak to his sister had resulted in the throbbing pain that plagued his left cheek. Or maybe because of the haranguing speech that he knew awaited him once he left his cell.
He peeked a glance at the guard awaiting him, arms crossed and eyebrow raised as if to say “Well? Are you coming or not? You may have all day, but not everybody else does!” They were usually stoic, poker-faced, and unsympathetic towards inmates’ desires. Rightly so. Much of the prisoners were delinquents who, if shown even an ounce of freedom, would take it to the extreme. His own sister had learned the hard way when her request to have the ankle chain removed from her leg was surprisingly granted.  The teen was quick to make a run for it, but even quicker to have been thwarted by the security. Veneer hadn't really seen Velvet around since, but from what he heard, she was taken into solitary confinement.
That was why he had made it his mission to be on his very best behavior. He'd speak when spoken to, eat the entire tray of slop that they called “food,” and hit the hay as soon as lights out was called. He never looked for fights or started any, and mostly kept to himself. So maybe, just maaaybe, if he asked really nicely, he could get out of this.
“Say, you know what? I'm not really sure if I can do this. You think maybe we could pick some other time?” Veneer grinned, hoping he looked and sounded polite.
But the guard was unmoved. "NO.”
“But… I'm really not feeling well!” It was a little true. Veneer's stomach was churning at the thought of leaving his cell for what was intended for him. In a desperate attempt, he clasped his hands together, stuck his bottom lip out in a pout and made his eyes big. “Pretty pleeeease?”
The guard had an unreadable expression for a moment, before he raised his walkie talkie up to his mouth to speak. “Increase the prison sentence for inmate number 8231978.”
Veneer dropped and act and gasped. “What? No! Okay, alright, I'll come!”
The guard humphed, unlocking the cell door so the teen could exit. With cuffs secured to his hands and an ankle chain to his left leg, the guard guided Veneer down the hallway.
The former Pop-star suppressed a groan and kept his eyes fixed to the ground. This was one of the parts he hated about this. The ‘Walk of Shame.’ The glares he'd receive. The jeers sent his way. Veneer wished he could burrow himself in the ground if it meant he didn't have to see the dirty looks being cast at him. And if looks could kill… Veneer shuddered to think that he'd probably be dead many times over.
Among other treacherous felonies, it seemed Mount Rageons truly despised frauds. Veneer supposed he understood why. It broke a golden value that was very challenging to win back - trust. He needn't look any further for an example of that, not only with what he and his sister had done, but also for his own sentiments towards her now. The resentment over Velvet’s manipulation… and the painful sorrow he felt in his heart at her stubbornness in refusing to ever speak to him again.
He focused on the sound of the clinking chain rather than the colorful words of the other inmates, and felt only a fraction of relief once he was out of that hallway and brought into the next room over. Veneer stared at the familiar tile flooring beneath his feet. It was perhaps slightly more welcoming in sight than the cell units, for its brighter lights and fresher smell. But that's where the welcome wore out. So far, this room hadn't been a place of positivity for him.
Veneer lifted his head slightly to assess the scene today. The booths were not as busy as it could be, which he was silently grateful for. The less folks to see him, the better. Inmates, all donning the same shabby orange jumpsuit he had on, were seated at them and already engaged in their own conversations with the recipients on the other end of the glass that separated them. He heard snippets of the chatting as he passed by.
“Six more months in the brig, can you believe it? Six months! I'll be old and wrinkled by then - “
“ - and you can't even tell the difference between the chicken and the broccoli sometimes. Ugh, it's awful! How can that even be allowed? That should be a crime!”
“Friends? In prison? Pfft, come on, dude! This isn't gradeschool - “
Veneer attempted to swallow down the lump in his throat, and thought about who his visitor would be this time around. Maybe it was a Mount Rageon, reminding him of how they used to be a fan of his music until he turned out to be a phony, while he sat, quietly mumbling an “I'm sorry” that fell deaf upon their ears. Or, they could whisper about how they still liked him, and believed that the whole Troll-talent thing was an elaborate hoax to spice up the drama. Veneer hated that scenario more than the first, and he would get frustrated in explaining that his jail-time was deserved. Or maybe still, it could be his parents, there to chew him out and express their disappointment in him and his sister. The first time they'd come, Veneer had easily taken the verbal beating, but Velvet only had her anger spiked. He shuddered remembering the way she'd spewed a string of obscenities so foul, even a sailor would be put to shame.
Veneer didn’t dare look up to see who it was at the booth when the guard told him to be seated. He just picked up the phone, and tried to sound somewhat alive as he mumbled into it.
“Hello?”
“It isn't as hip as your old pad, but at least it's something, huh?”
Veneer gasped, recognizing the serene voice at once, and whipped his head up. “Floyd?”
Sure enough, it was the teal Troll speaking into the phone’s receiver. When Floyd offered a gentle smile, Veneer couldn’t help grinning back. Floyd had that effect on folks, it seemed, one of shining positivity even in the darkest times. But that grin disappeared when he caught sight of the Troll’s hair, a rich sweep of magenta… save for the significant white streaks that ran through it. Ones that had been caused by Veneer’s own doing. The guilt bit at him, and the teen suddenly didn’t feel comfort in his unexpected presence. “Floyd, what are you doing here?”
“What do you mean? I came to see you,” he answered simply.
“Why?” Veneer asked, flailing his arms in a baffled manner. “If I were you, I’d be the last person I’d wanna see!” It was only when the guard standing at the far end of the room had shot him a warning look that Veneer realized his outburst had been too loud, and he toned it down.
“That’s not true, Veneer,” Floyd said, and then he smirked. “I’d say your sister wins in that category, wouldn’t you?”
Veneer had to chuckle at that. “Yeah, you are so not wrong there.”
Floyd laughed a little, too, and then spoke again. “But even then, I’m still gonna try to talk to her at some point, too.”
“Good luck with that,” the former Pop-star scoffed. “Anytime I’ve tried to talk to her, it just ends like this.” He turned his face to the side a little so Floyd could see the ugly purplish bruise that was his left cheek.
The Troll winced. “Ouch.”
“Ouch is right,” Veneer whimpered, gently touching the injury in hopes that perhaps it didn’t throb as much. Nope. Still did. He pinched the bridge of his nose and gave an exasperated groan, unable to contain it in him anymore. “So much for my sister not treating me like garbage. This has literally been the worst month of my life! Vel’s never gonna talk to me again. This uniform stinks! And you can only chop so many rocks before it starts to get to your head…” He huffed and heaved a sigh. “You’re SO lucky you don’t ever have to go through something like this. You’ve probably never done one bad thing in your life!”
Veneer expected him to agree right away, but became curious at Floyd’s silence, and the shamed look accompanying it. “Don’t be so sure.”
The teen cocked his head. “Wha?”
The Troll nodded. “I did something twenty years ago that I regret to this very day.”
“Geez,” Veneer said, considering the amount of time. He was hardly twenty years of age himself! “What happened?”
“I abandoned my baby brother. I promised I’d come back, but I never did…” Floyd’s voice got quieter as he continued to explain. “Turned out he wasn’t as well off as I thought he’d be. Our Grandma died, and there wasn’t anybody else to take care of him.”
Veneer winced. “Oof. Sounds rough.”
“Believe me, he let me know,” Floyd confirmed. “He was pretty upset. But then do you know what happened?”
“What?”
“He forgave me. Sure, it’s gonna take some time to heal the hurt of the past, but we know we can do it. And I'm confident that you and Velvet can do it, too.”
But Veneer disagreed. “How can you say that?” he blurted. “You’ve seen Vel. You’ll have better luck talking to a brick wall! It’s hopeless!”
Floyd paused for a moment, considering his next words. “You know, I felt pretty hopeless inside that diamond. You seemed pretty in love with all that fame and money, and whatever other ‘bling-a-ding’ you had…”
“Don’t remind me,” the teen whimpered, embarrassed for the selfish behavior he’d exhibited.
“And yet, you listened to me… didn’t you?”
“Yeah…” he replied warily.
“Then I trust Velvet can with you.”
“But you don’t understand!” Veneer cried. “Vel and I aren’t the same! Well… not entirely,” he amended, recalling how he and she hadn't been so different when it came to their desires for fame and fortune. “Just because I listened doesn’t mean Velvet will. That part of her that would listen has been long gone.”
Floyd cocked his head. “What part?” he pressed.
“Oh, you know,” Veneer went on, “the part that liked to make up bad dances, and didn’t care if we sang off key, as long as we were having fun.”
“Ohh,” The Troll said, nodding in understanding. “But you never know. That part of her could still exist.”
Veneer gave a dry laugh. “Yeah right.”
“I’m serious,” Floyd said. “She’s still there. You just gotta help her find it again.”
The teen eyed the Troll. “You really, truly think that’s possible?”
“Cross my heart, hope to die.”
“Let’s hope not,” Veneer said, feeling a shudder go down his spine as he remembered the way the Troll had gone transparent and nearly succumbed to death. But then he thought about what the magenta Troll said. Velvet being that sister she once was? It would be wonderful. “I guess she's been a diva for so long, I never thought it'd be possible for her to change…”
“It is,” Floyd assured with a smile. “It really is.”
Suddenly, a ping resounded, and he looked down at the bracelet on his wrist and gasped. “Oh! I promised my brothers I’d be only fifteen minutes. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have even let me come. They’re outside waiting for me. I’m sorry.”
Veneer nodded. “It’s all right, I understand. You don’t have to apologize.”
“Thanks. It was nice talking to you,” Floyd said sincerely. “Ooo, and make sure you check the mail! The letter I sent should have arrived today.”
Veneer nodded again. “Oh! Okay, I will. And it was nice talking to you, too!”
Floyd smiled, and was about to head off, when Veneer stopped him. “Wait! I, um… do you have a quick second? I've been working on something… I was kinda hoping you might wanna hear it?”
As Floyd glanced at him expectantly, Veneer cleared his throat, suddenly second-guessing himself. What if he sounded awful? What if Floyd laughed at him? Regardless, he’d already stopped him, so he had to follow through. The song flowed out of him softly at first, his voice cracking a couple of times and making him inwardly cringe. But soon his voice became stronger, the notes rich and beautiful. When Veneer was done, he was met not only by applause from Floyd, but from the other inmates and recipients at the booths as well! He blushed as Floyd offered his compliments.
“That was great!”
“And I swear it was all me,” Veneer hurriedly explained. “No talent-stealing here!”
Floyd chuckled. “That’s good. You really do have some real talent.”
Veneer shrugged. “Guess I just had to work hard at it.”
Floyd gave him a thumbs up. “Right.” Then he turned to go. “I’ll see you around, Veneer.”
The Troll waved, and he waved back. A sense of uplifting filled Veneer. He was in slightly better spirits than he had anticipated himself to feel, and was glad for it. On his way back to the cell, he questioned the guard on any mail delivery for him, and true to Floyd’s word, one letter, sealed with the BroZone lightning emblem, was awaiting him.
Veneer didn’t waste a minute as he tore open the envelope and began to read:
Veneer,
It’s amazing how time passes by so quickly. I can hardly believe it’s already been a month’s time since the incident, of which I don’t believe you need me to mention for you to know what I’m talking about. But, I AM going to mention it anyhow, as it was an experience which has produced great effect. I also see this as an opportunity to debunk or confirm any assumptions you may have regarding me on the matter.
Spending two months encased within a small, and rather uncomfortable diamond imprisonment was, to put it bluntly, an awful experience for me to have undergone, as I’m sure you can imagine. I can’t lie there, or try to sugarcoat anything. Matters were not helped when you were under the impression that this was a necessary thing to do. But shortcuts can sometimes be more ‘cut’ than ‘short,’ as came to be you and your sister’s case. But this is not to say that cuts can’t heal. With time and learning they can, and from there, things are bound to get better.
In the same manner that everyone deserves to be treated kindly, everyone also deserves a second chance. I can’t say that the first impression you left of me was a good one, but have an inkling that my sentiments will change in the near future. Know that you are forgiven for your actions, so long as you understand where your mistakes were, and so long as you have learned from it. I know I can’t make you heed to any advice that I or anybody else may give you, though I strongly recommend taking it, for your own benefit.
I have been on my way to recovery from everything, and am living with my brothers. If you are interested, I can speak to the prison management team and see if we could get you work release at my older brother’s cantina. It’s on a beautiful little island that I think you will find quite becoming (plus, it has a karaoke stage!)
By this point, I would imagine that we would have already spoken to each other, and, should the conversation have gone the way I envisioned, I believe that we can likely look forward to speaking again.
Your friend,
Floyd
P.S. If you choose to respond to this letter, send it out attached with the postcard in the envelope. Trust me, it will get there :)
Veneer wondered what he meant by that last part, and soon understood when he pulled out the said postcard - with no return address or sender information. But, he shrugged it off. If Floyd had said it would get there, then surely it would get there! And so, Veneer got to work composing a return letter, finishing it with just a few seconds to spare before lights out. The letter looked something like this:
Floyd,
It was unexpected seeing you today. If I was in your place, I would have just moved on with my life and not looked back - especially at the guys who captured me. I want you to know that I am very, VERY sorry for what I did to you and regret it very much. You can take my word that I will never do something like that again to anybody. I was too afraid to say anything about it to my sister before, but now she knows where I stand on this. I hope you’re right and that she will come around one day…
I’m glad to hear that you are recovering and hope that you continue to regain your health. I think that work release idea sounds great! (Although, I’ve never been to an island before… do you mind telling me a little bit about what it’s like?)
I was afraid to talk to you at first, but I actually did like the turnout of it and, if you have any time to spare in the future, I really would like for us to talk again!
Sincerely,
Veneer
P.S. Gonna try and have the full version of that song ready by the time you come back :)

All Together Now (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: What if all the brothers had been present during the escape from Troll Tree?
__________________________________________
“Wow! I guess this kinda counts as a tour then, huh?”
The yellow-haired Trolling who’d spoken glanced over at his older brother, but found that he did not share in his amusement. “Not a time to be joking, Clay. This is pretty serious. Just look around!” The purple-haired Trolling gestured his arms out to exemplify, showing the masses of concerned Trolls fleeing along the damp, dark tunnels.
Clay grimaced, realizing that he was right. “Err… sorry, Spruce. No more jokes right now.” He paused, and looked around himself. “Where’s John Dory?”
Spruce opened his mouth, ready to tell his younger brother that he was unsure, when a voice from further down the tunnel called “I’m here!”
Both boys turned around to find their green-haired brother out of breath, running over to catch up. “Sorry,” he said. “I had to make sure I had everything!” He held up a bag that looked somewhat heavy.
Spruce narrowed his eyes at him. “I hope you only packed what was absolutely necessary?”
The Troll hesitantly answered. “Yesss…”
Before he could do anything about it, Spruce grabbed the bag and undid the flap, looking inside and sighing. “Pre-signed autographs? Magazines? Hairspray? Seriously?” He kept rummaging. “Well, at least you had some sense to pack bottles and diapers for Branch.”
“Um, yeah!” JD said, appalled. “I’d never leave my little bro hanging.”
“Right… so where is little bro?” Spruce asked.
John Dory blinked. “Uhhh…”
“Right here!”
The boys breathed a sigh of relief when Floyd sprinted up to them, parting the hair above his head to reveal Baby Branch, giggling happily. After all, it was pretty fun to hitch a ride in your brother’s hair!
Affected by their baby bro’s cuteness, the four took a brief moment to “awww,” before it was back to business.
“All right, guys,” John Dory said with authority in his voice, “New place, but we’re still the same bros. We’re still gonna sing, dance, and rock the same way, and most importantly, we’re all still gonna be brodacious!”
“Agreed!” came the unanimous reply of the younger Trollings. With that, the boys were off, closely following along the pathway that King Peppy was leading everyone down.
“Oh, I hope the new place is a lot more relaxing than that Bergen Town,” Spruce said. “Just imagine: palm trees and warm sand as far as the eye can see, and a big ocean where you can surf!”
“Really?” Clay said, tilting his head. “I was hoping for something with big green fields. Kinda like the ones you find on a golf course!"
“As long as we can perform,” John Dory said, waving a finger. That was definitely key.
"And as long as we're all still together," Floyd added with a little smile.
The brothers nodded in agreement with him and continued along, joining up with their Grandma up ahead.
All were uncertain about what the future would bring, but held onto that glimmer of hope since they had each other going into it.

Any chance of a quick fic of Branch's bros showing and telling Poppy Branch's embarrassing baby photos all while he's a embarrassed grumpy pants about it? I feel we need more embarrassing loving big brothers moments.
Hi, Anon, I apologize for this being delayed. I wrote out a few drafts to this story, but was unsatisfied with the turnout until now. I do hope you enjoy :)
Show and Tell (a Trolls fanfic)
By the time that Branch had gotten his drink at the bar - a concoction his older brother called the Tropical Refresh, composed of a variety of fresh, fruity juices  - and walked over to the backstage area of the karaoke stage to find Poppy, he could already hear the bouts of giggling coming from his girlfriend. Branch had come across this type of situation a few times already, and he didn’t need to ask what had gotten her in such a lighthearted mood.
“Don’t you ever get tired of looking at that?” he asked, gesturing at the clue board that she was unashamedly ogling over.
“Nope!” Poppy chirped. “How can you ever get tired of looking at this cutie-patootie face, huh?” She reached into her pocket and showed him a little wallet-size photograph of him in his signature perm.
Branch gasped. “Hey! Who gave you that?”
“I did!” The blue Troll turned to find John Dory approaching them, looking quite proud of himself. “Don’t worry bro, I got copies for you, too!” he said, pulling out three more from his dark, aquamarine hair.
Branch groaned. “Seriously?”
“What do you mean ‘seriously’? What’s so embarrassing about a baby photo? You totally rocked the look!” JD asked, confused. Then he chuckled, nudging Branch with his elbow and speaking hushedly so Poppy couldn’t hear. “At least I didn’t show her the other box, right?”
But Poppy had heard him. She perked up and faced John Dory with curiosity. “What other box?”
JD beamed at her. “Ohoho, girl, if you like these photos, just wait till you see what I got in store for you.” Whistling Rhonda over, he entered his caterbus and pulled out a heavy-looking trunk. He struggled dragging it out for a moment, and then gave a short cry.
“Ouch! There goes my back,” he whined with a grimace, having strained himself too hard and rubbing the affected area. But the smile returned to his face a moment later. “Feast your eyes on le pièce de résistance, Poppy Seed!” he declared grandly, and then opened the trunk with a dramatic flair.
For a second light almost seemed to emit from the trunk, like it had been filled with glittering gold. When Poppy managed to focus in and see what it actually was, well, it was as good as gold to her.
“EEEE! Oh my GOSH!!” She grabbed Branch’s arm and leapt up and down with tears of joy while her boyfriend grumbled in dismay. “This is the best day of my life!”
“OOooo, really! Why’s that?” It had been Viva who’d spoken, neither one of them having heard her approaching with all the commotion Poppy was making. She noticed the trunk and grinned. “Is there a lifetime supply of candy in there? I know that would be the best day of my life!”
“Even better!” Poppy cried, stepping aside so her sister could see. Viva tucked her hands under her chin and gushed.
“Awwww…. That’s so sweet!”
Suddenly Poppy whirled on John Dory, grabbing him by the vest and shaking him hard. “John Dory! And just how long were you going to wait before you told me about this?!?!”
“You gotta ask to receive!” JD answered simply.
“Well, I guess,” Poppy grumbled, “Okay, but no more dillydallying, you have GOT to spill everything to me about these!”
But to her surprise, John Dory shook his head. “No can do, Miss Poppy…”
The Pop Queen’s jaw dropped. “WHAT?”
While also surprised to hear this answer come from his brother, Branch was actually relieved. “Oh, good.” The less embarrassment he had to endure in front of his girlfriend, the better!
But it seemed JD wasn’t done explaining. “...Not without the others to help,” he finished with a sly smile.
Now it was Branch’s turn to exclaim “What?”
And before he could stop him, John Dory had cupped his hands around his mouth and called out in the direction of the cantina. “YO, BRUCE! CLAY! FLOYD! GET YOUR BUTTS OVER HERE, PRONTO!”
A few seconds later, all three Trolls had hightailed their way over.
“What’s up John Dory?” Floyd asked.
“Why you sounding like there’s a big emergency or something?” Clay questioned with suspicion, knowing how JD had a tendency to overexaggerate matters.
“And why does Poppy look like she’s about to faint?” Bruce asked, pointing at the overwhelmed Pop Queen who was being held up by Viva and fanned.
John Dory presented the trunk to the three of them. “Does this answer your question?”
Three identical ear-to-ear smiles stretched across their faces.
“Awwww, that’s nice,” Clay cooed.
“Wow,” Floyd whispered, tears pooling in his eyes, “I really had thought these were all gone…”
“Well they’re not!” Bruce chuckled happily. “This is great!”
“You’re telling me,” Poppy mumbled, just about ready to collapse. “And speaking of telling me…” She gestured at the trunk meaningfully.
But Branch intervened, putting a hand up. “Now wait, wait a second, hold on. Must we do this?”
John Dory rubbed his chin. “Hmm. Alright, those who aren’t in favor, raise your hands,” he said, putting the decision up to vote.
As it turned out, Branch was the only one among the seven who followed through on that.
“‘Kay. Now, all in favor of sharing Branch’s totally brodacious and all-around awesome Bitty-B-baby photographs, put ‘em up!”
Six hands flew up into the air without hesitation.
Branch rolled his eyes. “Fine.”
“YAY!” Poppy cheered, clapping her hands with Viva and giving her boyfriend a great big hug in gratitude.
John Dory grinned as he reached into the trunk - full to the brim with Branch-centered memorabilia, cut-outs, magazine-clippings, and pictures - and pulled out the first item to share. Poppy squealed as he began to explain.
“Hehehe, this one” - he started, gesturing at a photograph of Baby Branch suspended on a glitter wire - “was when we were deciding how Branch was gonna make his first live appearance. We thought about having him lower down onto the stage from above, but, hehehe, he was kinda afraid of heights.”
“I was a baby, John Dory. Everything around me looked big! So… yeah,” Branch said in his defense, crossing his arms.
Bruce had a turn picking next, and gave a knowing “Ohhh,” when he saw what it was. “Debut outfit idea that, of course, didn’t work because of, well… the obvious.” When he showed the photo, it was Baby Branch with his head barely peeking out of the top of a puffy blue vest, BroZone’s signature white slacks on his bottom and trailing behind him like a gown’s train.
“I wasn’t the same size as you all back then,” Branch said with a tone in his voice that exhibited a “duh!”
“Aw, but at least you’ll fit in it now, right, sweetie?” Poppy cooed lovingly to him.
He had to smirk at his girlfriend’s neverending optimism. “Yeah, I guess so.”
Clay laughed when he pulled out the next photograph. “Ohhh, man… Grandma’s birthday,” he said fondly. “Each of us had a hand in getting together her special Fluffleberry cake. Bruce and I made the batter. John Dory and Floyd took care of the baking. And Branch, hehehe… he helped decorate. Although, I think he might’ve ended up decorating himself more than the cake.” He turned the photo around so the others could see the little blue Troll baby covered from head to toe in colorful icing and sprinkles.
“It was my first time!” Branch wailed. “And believe me, I had icing in places I didn’t even know I had.” He shuddered to remember. “It was unpleasant.”
“Well, it’s a good thing we took you to the bath right after,” Floyd said with a little grin. The grin became wider when he pulled out the next photo. “Oh my, and speaking of baths… can’t forget your first shower, can we?”
Branch’s cheeks turned red from embarrassment when the baby photo depicted him pictured from behind, the soap bubbles barely hiding his birthday suit.
“Whoaho!” JD cracked up., “Now there’s something you don’t see everyday!”
“I guess you could say it happens only once in a blue moon, am I right?” Clay joked, Bruce laughing alongside him.
“OH!” Poppy squeaked in surprise, blushing, while Viva gasped and put a hand over her mouth.
“This just goes to showcase a whole new meaning to ‘junk in the trunk!’” Branch humphed with whatever dignity he had left, referring to John Dory’s trunk of memorabilia. Although, his older brother didn’t interpret the statement that way.
“I’ll say!” he hollered, stooping down to slap Branch in the rear.
“OUCH! JD!”
The goggled Troll giggled in response to his shout.
Branch huffed and plopped down to the ground, both as a way to ensure that John Dory wouldn’t do that again and as a way to make himself comfortable. Because - as the elder Troll took his turn sifting through the trunk for another good photograph and story attached to it, and his brothers eagerly awaited their next turns, and his girlfriend sat there nearly panting in anticipation - Branch realized that he would be there for quite some time.
Yep. A nice loooong time.

Could you make a fanfiction of when Poppy surprised Branch that she was expecting to have a baby? And they tell all their friends and family the news? How would Branch react? And how would their family and friends react to the news too? I always imagine that they're excited to become parents, and so do their loved ones!? Could you do that? I also love the idea that their little girl had blue eyes, like her father's, Branch, indigo hair, and I imagined she looked like her mother, Poppy.
Hi! I wanted to break this up into 2 parts, this first one will be the siblings’ reaction to the news - I think Branch’s deserves a separate oneshot (I can’t say when I’ll have it ready for, as I do have a couple other requests from my Inbox to fill, but I hope you enjoy!)
Taking the News (a Trolls fanfic)
“AAAIIIIIIIYYYYYYYAIIIII!!!!”
Viva’s excited scream burst through the air, the Putt Putt Queen leaping a good couple feet up in an uncontained joy. The energy only doubled once she landed, waving her hands wildly about and gushing while she paced about and spoke a mile a minute. “OMIGOSH, OMIGOSH, OMIGOSH, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!” She zipped over to Poppy and gently patted at her belly.
“Hello in there! It’s your Auntie Viva! Oh, I just know you’re gonna be so itty, and bitty, and cutie-wootie just like your Mommy was! AND I’M SO EXCITED TO MEET YOU!”
The Pop Queen giggled at her sister. “Veevs, I’m only a couple months. I’m not even sure if they can hear you yet!”
Branch on the other hand differed on this viewpoint. “After that scream? Yeah, they probably did.” Viva grinned sheepishly when she noticed the blue Troll rub his ears.
“Oh! I’m so sorry, Branch! It’s just that this is so, SO fantast-amazing!! Actually, it’s better than fantast-amazing! It’s fantast-AMAWESOME!” She squealed and bounced off to the side, expending her energy in one of the best ways she knew how - braiding! By the time her feet were back on the ground, it was Clay who was donning a brand-new French-braided hairstyle, topped off with little bows and glitter of all sorts of colors.
Clay groaned at how silly it looked. “Viva! Why me?” he whined.
Viva sprang to his side and gave him a playful punch on the shoulder. “Because you need to stop being a serious-boy grumpy-poo and get loose! My sis is gonna be a mom!! And your brother’s gonna be a dad!!” She celebrated by grabbing Clay in a tight hug and twirling him around.
When he was released, the lime-green-Troll found himself taking her advice, forgetting all about his hair and grinning broadly at Branch.
“Congrats, bro! I’m real proud of ya!” He fist-bumped the bashful blue Troll. Branch readied himself to reply, when he suddenly heard a sniffle. It came as no surprise that the Troll who had burst into tears was none other than Floyd.
“Oh, Branch, this is such a special thing! I’m honored to be an uncle, and I’m so happy for you…” He trailed off, a sob taking place where words failed him. He easily wept into Branch’s shoulder when his younger bro pulled him in for a hug.
“Thanks. I’m pretty psyched, too,” Branch agreed, smiling as he pictured their child. What would they look like? Perhaps they’d have his dark, indigo hair and sparkling blue eyes. Or they could be all Poppy, in gorgeous appearance and stunning personality. Or maybe their kid would inherit King Peppy’s orange skin tone, or Grandma Rosiepuff’s teal button nose. Branch’s head spun with all of the possibilities, each and every one perfect and plausible, until the reality of the situation weighed down on him. Being a father was a big responsibility. A flicker of doubt seemed to flash across his face right at that moment, which did not go unnoticed by Bruce.
The purple-haired Troll approached him and patted a hand on his back. “Hey, man, I know it can seem kinda scary at first - I know I was a little nervous for my first kid - but trust me, it becomes a breeze. And when it’s not, just call me for help! I got your back, bro.” He winked at Branch, making him feel a lot better. Bruce, after all, was an experienced dad, having fathered 13 kids of his own - all of who would become cousins to the new bundle of joy entering into his life.
John Dory suddenly swept in alongside them. “And me, too!”
Branch and Bruce gave him a curious look. “Wait… John, you’re a dad?”
JD’s jaw dropped. “Uh, yeah! You forgot? Man!” He strolled over to his caterbus, Rhonda, and patted her side lovingly. “It’s okay, girly,” he cooed, “they didn’t mean to forget about you, darling. Who’s the cutest caterbussy in the whole wide world? Huh? You are!”
Rhonda trilled in appreciation at John Dory’s sappy words, while Branch exchanged a look with his other brothers. While he wanted to point out that taking care of a caterbus was not all the same as it was taking care of a little Trolling, Branch couldn’t help but feel his own bout of appreciativeness towards his bro’s offer to help. Feeling playful, he grabbed JD with one arm and noogied him with the other, the pair of them laughing by the end of it.
Poppy and Viva in the meantime were having their own share of sisterly love, hugging and shrieking, and jumping up and down over the elation of it all.
“Ohhh, I can’t wait to tell everyone!” Poppy cried. “I’m gonna tell Bridget, and Biggie, and Mr. Dinkles, and Guy Diamond, and Satin and Chenille, and - “
“And Dad!” Viva cut in with a grin.
Poppy squealed. “Oh, my gosh!”
She and Viva shouted at the same time at the top of their lungs: “DAD’S GONNA FREAK!” Both girls burst into a fit of giggles just picturing the look on the elderly king’s face once the news hit him full force.
Viva bounced up and down once again and wrangled Poppy and the boys together.
“Aw, come here, guys! Group hug!” Arms enveloped Poppy and Branch from all sides in a flurry of limbs, letting the two happy parents know that they - along with their new kiddo - were indeed loved very dearly.

Homecoming (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: As a teenage Branch gathers supplies, he hears a familiar tune of his past playing at a certain pink tween princess's birthday party
A/N: Taking place before TBT
__________________________________________
Branch scowled.
All of them - every single one of them out there, dancing till their legs would give out on them and singing till their voices got sore - was a fool.
It seemed to him now that almost every party that happened in Pop Village was progressively getting bigger, louder, and crazier. And one day, it was going to be the inevitable demise of the town they created away from the treacherous creatures who wanted to eat them.
The Bergens are coming! AHHH!
They’d all thought he was the crazy one whenever he burst in screaming about the dangers they were blind to, hoping they would get a wakeup call and side with him.
But nobody ever did.
Branch clenched his fists, gripping the sticks he was holding tighter. This whole shindig was surefire Bergen bait. That banner hanging up in the trees may as well be reading HERE WE ARE! BON APPETIT!
But, it didn’t. The banner that was there instead read HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS POPPY!
From his vantage point up higher than the clearing that was below, he could see everything that was happening to celebrate the future Queen’s occasion. Balloons of all colors had been blown up and were strung at the corners of a large table in which Trolls had been placing presents on. Accumulated there already were at least two dozen, big, small, wide and short with fun wrapping paper designs of stars and sparkles. Much of the adults who attended were chatting idly with each other, while the kids were playing games and busting out some moves to the music that was playing on the boombox.
Branch spotted Princess Poppy almost instantly in the crowd. She was always so distinguishable, not only by her pink color scheme, but also by her perky, peppy attitude. He never saw her without a smile on her face. It was as though that was the only expression she knew how to make, as she laughed and sang with her friends.
He snorted. He’d known about this party for weeks. Months even. While he wasn’t involved in the town’s happenings and barely interacted with anybody (aside from a grumble at any greeting that was sent his way), he had heard the talk buzzing around about it whenever he went to go gather supplies. Poppy herself had invited him to it. She was chipper, grinning at him from ear to ear and presenting the invitation, which, as it always did, shot out its burst of glitter in his face after a little jingle rang out. That invitation should be long gone, torn and rotting in the garbage by now. But, it was in fact sitting behind a curtain in his room, secretly hidden away from the eyes and ears of anybody, along with a collection of many other identical invitations that she’d given him for a variety of different occasions.
Suddenly, a strange feeling overcame him as he thought about those invitations, and the parties that he’d missed. Would it have been so bad if he had attended one of them? There was a time, Branch could remember, in his memory where he would’ve accepted. If things had been different, maybe he could be there right now, celebrating alongside her.
Maybe ALL of us could have been friends…
Branch shook his head, frowning and pushing those ridiculous what-if scenarios out of his mind and refusing to address who the ‘All’ was by individual name.
But it seemed that the universe didn’t want him to brush it off so easily.
Right as Branch turned to start making his way out of there with his bundle of sticks, he heard Party Rock Anthem conclude, and an all-too familiar tune take its place.
“Da-da, da-da-da,
Da-da-da, da-da-da…”
Several things happened at once. Poppy and a number of her girl friends squealed a scream, the party’s DJ turned up the volume of the song a few notches, and Branch’s blood ran cold.
Oh, please, no. Not this song….
“Well, there she goes! On the floor let’s do this no more talking,
Did anybody notice? The energy just shifted when we dropped it!”
Poppy sang along, grabbing her friends - Cooper, Smidge, Satin and Chenille, as Branch remembered that they were called - and going through the dance moves with close accuracy to the way it was meant to be performed.
“I don’t flex but I might,
Groove about you take flight,
Cuz’ the night is young and the music’s on,
And we got love on sight!”
Another one of Poppy’s friends added their voice to the sing-along, and Branch rolled his eyes when he saw who it was.
“The sky was the limit,
Now the stars where we’re living,
It’s the vibe when we’re in it,
It’ll blow your mind!”
Creek, in truth, was not as great of a singer as he thought he was. The others didn’t seem to think so, though, and applauded him.
“Oh, I just looove BroZone SO MUCH!” Poppy gushed when the song got to its chorus. “I wonder what The Baby’s voice sounds like now…” She hummed, tapping a finger to her chin as if trying to picture it.
Branch’s guess would be as good as hers on behalf of that question, despite the fact that he himself had been ‘The Baby’ of BroZone. But he was far gone from the little Troll who used to dance around in diapers and pink-tinted glasses. In fact, no musical note had ever come out of his throat for many, many years. This last part the Trolls of the village knew. But the first part, about his band days and the boys he had once called his brothers, were as much of a secret as Poppy’s hidden invitations.
Smidge shrugged. “Who knows! I wish I knew where they all went off to,” she sighed in her gruff little voice.
“Same here!” Satin and Chenille said at the same time. Then the former turned to the latter and asked, “Chenille, remember when you used to write letters to the ‘Win a Date with Spruce’ contest even though they no longer do it?”
“Satin!” the fashionista twin exclaimed, shoving her sister on the arm while blushing. “I told you not to mention that!”
“Well, it’s true!” Satin giggled.
Chenille, in an effort to change the subject, turned her attention to Poppy. “Say, Poppy, who was your favorite BroZone guy?”
Cooper, Biggie and Guy Diamond all piped up, also eager to know.
“Hey, that’s a good question!” Cooper chimed.
“WhOooOo was your favorite?” Guy Diamond asked in his techno-reverby voice.
“Mr. Dinkles is dying to find out!” Biggie said, holding up his pet worm, Mr. Dinkles, who gave a little squeaky “mew!” in reply.
Branch had to perk an ear at this, his curiosity piqued for what the Pop Princess had to say.
Poppy blushed a little, thinking carefully about her answer.
“Well, um… hehe… The, um, Leader’s kinda cute…”
John Dory? Branch snorted. His huge head is full of nothing but hot air!
“But you know,” Poppy continued, her cheeks darkening, “so is Spruce.”
Spruce? Pfft. Yeah, sure. Cute until he cheats on you, Branch thought, recalling how his second eldest brother always seemed to have a new girlfriend each week.
“Oh, but Clay always had the best dances!” she giggled, imitating the most well-known “Rusty Robot” move.
Clay’s a player. He’d make it seem like things are handy-dandy, and then the next day he’ll dump you and say it was just a joke all along!
“And don’t get me started on Floyd!”
HA. Don’t get ME started, either, he thought bitterly, subconsciously fingering the leaf vest he was wearing. It was still a little bit big on him, but, once he was a couple years older and underwent the growth spurt that seemed to hit most of the older teenage Trolls, he was sure it would fit just fine. He suddenly remembered the words that his favorite brother had told him many years back.
When you miss me, you can wear this. It’ll be like I’m right here with you.
Well, Branch could see that that wasn’t exactly the truth. Having Floyd there in person was not the same as wearing a vest that only carried his memory. He then thought of another untruth he was told, on the very same night.
I’ll be back. I promise.
But WHEN, Floyd? Branch wished he would’ve asked right there and then. It’d already been over a decade since then. He needed his favorite brother’s comfort more than ever, especially when their Grandma had suffered her death at the hands of a Bergen. Then another thought crept into his mind.
Did he forget about me?
It hurt Branch to think so, but it was a possibility. If Floyd was really out there, enjoying his best life and riding the high of the solo career he’d always wanted, then what use was there in leaving that behind to come back for a little brother who would just be in the way?
He wouldn’t.
That’s why it didn’t bother Branch at knowing that he broke a promise to his brother as well.
And when you come back, we’ll build our hideout!
Branch humphed. If he wasn’t coming back, then there was no need to feel guilty that the hideout was already in progress.
He gathered his sticks and hurried off, not bothering to hear the rest of the conversation. Creek was saying something to Poppy, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him, a hand of his on her shoulder. Branch set his jaw, firmly clenching the sticks and finally stormed off.
__________________________________________
After about a half hour, the sticks had been whittled into six identical dagger-like weapons, added into his basket of other dagger-like weapons. Then, per Branch’s usual routine in the evening - before he went on to eat his dinner - he made his way over to the side of his bed, plucked the feather duster that was leaning against the wall, and made his way over to the only rooms in the bunker that were not stashed to the brim with supplies.
At first glance, it would seem as though Branch had four spare bedrooms intended for guests. But Branch was not one to have company over, so that possibility would be ruled out. And the folks who would be staying in them anyhow would not be guests. They would be permanent residents.
That is, if those said brothers ever returned.
Branch looked down at the arm that was holding the featherduster, scrutinizing its grayness. Ever since the day he’d lost his vibrant blue color, his outlook in life had never been the same. Optimism was never something he had anymore. But Branch also obtained something else that became a part of his personality that day, too. And that was the initiative to always remain crazy-prepared.
Room by room he went, tidying the spaces, ensuring that the beds had crisp sheets and fresh linen, that the photo frames on the wall were straightened, and that each instrument of their interest was cleansed. John Dory’s drumset was wiped down. Spruce’s saxophone was polished to perfection. Clay’s keyboard was rubbed till it shone. And Floyd's guitar was tuned and set, ready for action.
Branch sighed, almost feeling himself get teary-eyed. He was just about the ages of his brothers when the band had split. By this point, he’d figured he would have had his very own blue puffy jacket, and that the only thing he would have to worry about is getting over his preshow jitters.
But, nooo.
Branch sat here, waiting for something that may not happen. That little part of him was going to still fight for hope, though. Despite his parents gone, his brothers who-knew-where, his Grandma dead, his colors vanished, and his crush unrequited, Branch had to press on.
Someday, if the homecoming ever were to happen, Branch would not be caught off guard. He took out the plan for his hideout from the inner pocket of his vest. It was a little bit worn from the years, yellowed and slightly wrinkled, but still very visible. His three-year-old vision depicted in colorful blocky lettering and a handful of glitter had finally become a reality.
Now all he had to do was wait for them to come back into his life.

Young Love (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: What if our Main 7 Trolls had met years earlier?
__________________________________________
BroZone’s performance, judging by the round of applause and standing ovation, was astounding that night. The music was sharp, the harmonies were tight. It was a performance so good that it could bring one to tears… which is exactly what it had done to Floyd.
Backstage, the brothers stood in a half-circle around the magenta Trolling, who hastily wiped away the water from his eyes only to have more replace it the next instance.
“Come on, bro! What you got to be crying for?” John Dory asked. “We rocked the house!” To emphasize, he gave Floyd a playful punch on the shoulder, and then promptly went to fist-bump Spruce and high-five Clay for their accomplishments.
“I know,” Floyd whimpered, though he was still unable to help himself when more tears continued to come.
But right before Spruce could make a comment about how red his eyes were looking, or before Clay could start sniggering that he was being a crybaby, a new voice broke into their circle with pretty much the same question that both the purple and yellow Trolling had in mind.
“Oh my, why the tears? I thought the performance was lovely!”
The boys whirled around, nearly stunned out of their vests at the sight of the Pop Village’s royalties, standing right there in all their glory - King Peppy and Princess Viva themselves!
They collectively gasped, speechless at their presence, though surprisingly, Floyd was the first to actually muster the voice to speak up.
“They’re not sad tears,” Floyd sputtered. “They’re happy tears!”
“Ohhhh,” the king said, chuckling. “I understand what you mean.”
Viva giggled. “The minute Daddy saw my little sister he couldn’t stop crying!” she explained.
Then, as if it was on cue, the boys heard a light giggling coming from atop the king’s head. A fond smile grew on King Peppy’s face, and he reached into his bright pink hair to pull out an equally bright-pink-haired baby Trolling.
They gasped once more. “Princess Poppy!”
The baby giggled at the mention of her name and babbled sweetly. Then, her babbling turned into somewhat of a tune – a familiar one at that, because it almost sounded like the song that they’d been singing onstage.
King Peppy laughed and fondly nuzzled his daughter before setting her down so she could toddle out a few moves. “Ah yes, she just loved your performance, too. Can’t get enough of it!”
John Dory smirked and crossed his arms. “Yeah, well, I guess she knows talent when she sees it!”
Spruce, who was being humbler on the matter, gasped and elbowed his brother. “JD!”
John Dory gave him a confused look. “What?”
King Peppy laughed at the interaction. “Not to worry youngling, he’s actually right.”
Viva nodded her head in agreement, her golden pigtails bobbing. “You all really are talented. I really loved your Rusty Robot, Clay!” she said, referring to the dance move that the yellow-haired Trolling was best known for.
Surprised but pleased to hear the future Queen of Pop compliment him so, Clay blushed. “Oh! Um, th-thanks.” He looked away bashfully.
“And the baby – Branch, was it? – he is absolutely wonderful!” King Peppy added.
Spruce had to grin at that. “I know, right? I taught him some of those moves, by the way!”
JD scoffed and rolled his eyes. Who was being cocky now? His thoughts were interrupted when his littlest bro toddled at his feet, already back in the dancing groove that he had onstage. The baby was really getting into it, swaying and rolling his hips and bobbing his head without a care in the world! Well, that was until his gaze landed upon the youngest pink Pop princess.
Branch paused mid moonwalk and his blue eyes grew wide. Princess Poppy noticed him, too, and couldn’t resist giggling joyfully at him. Branch, adoring the sound of her infectious laughter, grinned broadly, showing off his one tooth, and toddled over to her. Full of confidence, he pulled off the move that Spruce had taught him – the one that he said would make girls swoon, and had indeed done just that when he went upon the stage that night – winking and putting on a suave smile while extending his hand out to her. But Poppy didn’t faint or grab hold of his hand to brush their fingers together. The pink Pop princess instead took little Branch completely off guard when she leaped up at him, wrapped her pink arms around his neck and attacking him with a fierce hug. Branch let out a squeak of surprise, but then hugged her right back just as tight.
By this point, the conversation between the king, Viva, and the brothers had paused as they were all looking down at the two babies.
“Awwww, that’s so cuuute!” Floyd gushed, the scene only prompting more tears to flow out of his eyes.
“Well, looks like Branch has got himself a little girlfriend before you,” Clay teased, nudging Spruce.
The purple-haired Troll rolled his eyes and blew a raspberry. “Oh, please, bro. I had a girl when I was just an egg!”
“What?” Clay laughed. “No you didn’t!”
“Yeah I did!” Spruce insisted.
“Uh, no, you didn’t,” John Dory said. Spruce shot him a look and JD scoffed. “Dude, I was there to see that you didn’t!”
A back and forth suddenly began, in which Spruce argued that he would one day have a harem of girls, and JD teased him greatly for even thinking such a thing. Clay too was roped into the conversation, to which he supported JD’s point of view, and Floyd simply hung back, stating that he took up neither argument and would very much appreciate skirting the topic of girls altogether.
But amidst all the squabble, Baby Branch could hardly care less to pay any mind to it. He was hugging a real cute gal, and she was hugging him right back! Her hug was so warm and snug, he felt like he could cuddle against her soft, pink figure all day. There was something so comforting, so distinguishably wonderful about being in Princess Poppy’s embrace that it canceled out any negative thoughts that he could ever have.
Branch didn’t know how long the hug lasted, but he did know one thing - this was definitely the start of a beautiful friendship!

Sleeping Tight (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: After awakening from a nightmare, Floyd seeks comfort with his favorite baby brother
A/N: Anybody else sleepy from Thanksgiving turkey? I know I am, lol
__________________________________________
Trolls were joyous little creatures.
This went without saying, as it was proven with how much they sang, danced, and hugged each other. Even when they slept, you could most likely find a serene smile on their faces. But, even the happiest creatures underwent moments of other not-so-pleasant emotions, like sadness or fear. It was the latter that had taken ahold of a certain magenta-haired Trolling that night.
Floyd awoke with a start, the moon still high in the sky and the dawn nowhere near approaching any time soon. His little heart raced and a few beads of sweat had perspired on his forehead. He had a nightmare, he knew that, though he couldn’t quite recall the exact details of it upon awakening. He thought it may have been something about tall terrible creatures, or perhaps something about having been separated from his Grandma and brothers forever. Either way, they were frightening thoughts that disturbed him greatly.
He clutched at his blanket, trying to shut his eyes and think about happy things. But, unfortunately for him, he was still a little too rattled to do as he intended. The Troll bit his lip, contemplating what to do. He could always go to Grandma, but at the same time, he didn’t want to disturb her. He knew that she got enough of them during the day as it was. He glanced over at the rest of their room, where his gaze roamed over the sleeping forms of his brothers in their beds. They all looked like they were snoozing pretty well, too. John Dory was making finger guns in his sleep. Spruce was making kissy faces, likely dreaming about girls (a phase that Floyd wasn’t too fond of and found very gross). Clay was snoring loudly, some drool dribbling out of the corner of his mouth. Floyd scrunched his nose in disgust at the sight, but soon that disgust went away when he saw his one younger brother snoozing in his crib. Baby Branch hugged his Croco toy securely against him in his little blue fingers and suckled on the binky in his mouth every once in a while. Out of everyone, he looked the most peaceful. And probably the least judgmental of the bunch.
As silently as he could, Floyd pushed his blankets aside and rose from the bed, quietly tiptoeing his way over to the crib. Then, carefully, he reached inside and took the baby into his arms. Branch, being a naturally light sleeper, immediately stirred awake from the action, blinking his tired blue eyes and focusing them on the magenta ones of his brother’s. He cocked his head at the Trolling, an eyebrow raised as if to ask “Floyd?”
Floyd offered him a gentle smile. “Hey, Baby Branch,” he whispered. “You don’t mind sharing the bed with me, do you?” When Branch did nothing more than blink blankly at him, he sighed and continued. “I kinda had a bad dream… have you ever had a bad dream?”
Branch furrowed his blue brows, as if he didn’t quite understand the words. Floyd couldn’t help but laugh lightly. The baby had probably never had a bad dream once in his short life so far, and he hoped that he never would. “I didn’t think so,” he said, reaching over to lightly run a finger over his small cheek. The motion tickled the baby and he giggled sweetly. “The other guys… they’ll laugh at me if I try to tell them. Especially Clay.” Clay, being the ‘Fun Boy’ of the group, always liked to find a joke in everything, and he’d try to make light of the situation. John Dory and Spruce, being the eldest, would try to put on a front, trying not to let their sensitive sides show. But Floyd wore his heart on his metaphorical sleeve (given that the brothers’ favorite outfit choice – vests - don’t have sleeves). It was just something that made him him.“But,” he continued, hopefully, “maybe you won’t?”
Branch looked up at Floyd, blinking again as though he had paused to really process his brother’s words. Then he grinned, snuggling up against the magenta Trolling’s chest and babbling happily.
“Braaanch,” Floyd cooed, doing all he could not to allow the happy tears that had pooled in his eyes to spill. Even so, a few managed to slip down his cheeks, which he quickly wiped away with his free hand. He carried the baby with him back to his bed, adjusting him and his toy first and then sliding in next to him, tugging the blankets over them.
“Well, g’night, Branch,” he whispered.
Branch giggled, releasing his Croco toy and instead using his brother’s arm as a pillow to rest his small blue head on. Floyd smiled, getting comfortable and knowing that now that the rest of his sleep would go undisturbed.

Soundproof (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: John Dory reveals that Rhonda is soundproof, and that little bit of information sits quite well with Poppy and Branch **Rated M**
A/N: 😏
__________________________________________
It was precisely three things that were serving as a distraction to Branch that night.
One was the incredibly delicious marshmallows in his hands, plopped into his mouth every few minutes so that he could experience its chewy, fluffy goodness in between the songs that he and his brothers were harmonizing to. Another was Poppy, sitting across him from the campfire alongside her sister Viva. Her deep, fuschia eyes - sparkling with the reflection of the crackling orange flames - remained trained to his blue whenever she spared a glance his way, letting him know by the intense gaze that there was something other than flames crackling between them.
Tension.
And it was one that was continuing to build as the evening progressed, all because of a small tidbit of information that was so graciously dumped upon them during the idle conversation among the group of friends. The information in itself being the third distraction.
Patience was not proving to be a virtue, however, and he and Poppy had to be pulled out of their dazed infatuation with one another several times - Viva nudging her sister with a giggle and Floyd nudging Branch wearing his own little smirk.
After what did feel like hours of happily enduring laughter, songs, stories and other shenanigans that could only ensue among siblings, the first yawn finally was emitted, coming out of Floyd. It in turn caused everybody else to realize just how tired they were, too. So when the other yawns and tired stretches followed suit to confirm it was true, Branch nearly felt like pulling his brother in for a hug. His favorite bro had come to his aid, even if he may not have known it! But while the fun between the seven friends had just concluded, the heated glint in Poppy’s eyes told him that their fun was just beginning.
Just as Branch’s thoughts began to wander somewhere ungentlemanly, John Dory’s loud voice broke through. “I don’t know about you all, but I’m bushed!” To demonstrate his point, he plopped down flat on his back upon his sleeping bag. “Guess it was pretty fun singing and roasting marshmallows after all, eh?” he chuckled after a moment.
Bruce hummed in agreement, munching on the last few in his possession. “Mmm-mmm! I gotta tell Brandy we should add these to the dessert menu,” he said, referring to his wife of whom he ran Vacay Island’s cantina with.
“Imma be the first one in line if you do that!” Clay exclaimed, exchanging a fist bump with the purple-haired Troll.
“Count me in on that, too!” Viva giggled. She too really loved marshmallows - her couch back in Putt Putt Village, in fact, was a marshmallow! And only now did it really occur to her to wonder how in the world she’d managed not to consume it for all those years living there. Shrugging it off, she turned to the gang with a large grin. “He’s right though,” she said, gesturing a thumb at John Dory. “This really was fun! I’d love for us to all hang again sometime!”
Floyd nodded his head, agreeing. “That would be nice.” He turned to Branch, seeking his younger bro’s opinion.
“Yeah,” the blue Troll responded, hoping he didn’t sound too breathless when he answered, his gaze still fixed on Poppy.
The Pop Queen, in a similar fashion, concurred with a little dazed “Uh-huh.”
Good nights were bid, sleeping bags unzipped, and wrappers to the Jumbo-sized marshmallow bags disposed of. As Branch went to go put out the campfire, he silently mouthed the words to Poppy that would let her know when they could get the ball rolling.
Five minutes.
He accompanied the words with hand gestures - one going forward, as though he were making the motion for the word “after,” and then another gesture tucking his hands under one side of his head, to make it look as though he were laying down to sleep. Poppy understood right away, confirming with a little wink and followed by a half-lidded gaze that made a tingle go down his spine. He tried to ignore it as he laid down in his sleeping bag, for the sake of surviving those next five minutes without her in his arms already, but found he couldn’t. Poppy’s effect was too strong, and the desires manifested themselves in delicious fantasies for what he ached to do with her. Fantasies of which would soon become a reality.
Branch lay until he was sure that he heard the sounds of heavy cadences of breathing and light, steady snoring. He waited an extra thirty seconds or so afterwards, just to be extra sure and, upon hearing no signs of activity, allowed himself to rise up and out of his sleeping bag, careful to take the utmost caution in not making any noise whatsoever.
Poppy, also having waited the allotted time, made to get out of her sleeping bag, too. In her haste to reach Branch’s side, she accidentally crunched on a dry leaf, the crinkling noise resounding around them. Both froze. With this number of Trolls snoozing in the vicinity, someone was bound to stir. And stir someone did.
Clay shifted in his bag, and Branch held his breath, fully expecting his older brother to blink his eyes open and catch the two of them sneaking off. But to his relief, the lime-green-haired Troll drowsily mumbled something about tax evasion and then snuggled back into his blanket. Poppy met her boyfriend’s eyes and scrunched her shoulders, a little blush tinting her cheeks and a quiet giggle escaping her. Branch rolled his eyes playfully, and simply extended his hand for her to take, a little smirk on his face. She squeezed it softly as he tugged them along, padding against the soft dirt floor underneath them to reach their destination. Once they got just outside of JD's beloved caterbus pet, he released from her grip, bringing his hand up to her face so he could pull her in for the kiss he'd been dying to share with her. Poppy obliged him willingly, parting her lips slightly to deepen it. He pulled away with some reluctance after several seconds, resting his forehead against hers. Branch’s voice was hushed and eager when he spoke, finally addressing that one point of crucial information in the earlier conversation that had been so easily glossed over by the others, even his brother - JD - himself, who had revealed it.
"Do you really think that Rhonda is completely soundproof?"
The question itself wasn't so crude, but for the purpose that he was asking it made his cheeks grow warm. He couldn't help but think back to the time when John Dory had made the very confident-sounding claim that Rhonda was waterproof, but it hadn't turned out to be so.
Poppy however didn't seem bothered, and snickered. "I mean, even if she isn't, I'm sure she'll make sure nobody bothers us. Won't you, girl?"
Branch gave a short gasp when he felt a rumble of a trill behind him in response, only coming to just realize that Rhonda had been awakened and was panting happily at the couple. She wagged her stumpy green tail, seeming to have understood what Poppy had said and more than willing to be of help.
Branch still looked a little bit uncertain, suddenly rethinking this little venture. Even with as much as he wanted this to happen, would it be wise?
"Poppy," he said, pausing to think of what he was going to point out to her first. That perhaps they shouldn't be partaking in these type of activities within a caterbus that was not theirs? With not one, nor two, or even three or four, but FIVE other Trolls who had the chance of waking up and catching them in the act? And what kind of mess would they leave behind on the bed? Branch couldn’t imagine the embarrassment that he would have to face if confronted by John Dory for anything that was leftover upon the sheets….
But Poppy was quick to already reply. And reply she did. "Brrranch…" His name was a teasing growl, the ‘r’ drawn arousingly as she opened Rhonda's side door, batted her lashes and gingerly stepped foot inside.
Branch sighed. That's it.
In a move that suddenly startled her, he swept in, hauling her up and off her feet and hoisting her in a bridal carry that had her doing her best to not squeal in surprise. As he toted her into the caterbus, he hoped Poppy wasn't prepared to sleep.
Because Branch sure wasn't.
__________________________________________
A loud, thumping in the night is what awakened him.
Floyd startled, a little groggy as he registered that it was still pitch black, the morning not broken through yet. He attempted to shut his eyes again and doze off, but a sudden rumbling in his stomach caught him off guard, letting the magenta-haired Troll know loud and clear that it was hungry.
One midnight snack will do, he thought. Or... whatever time it is. Floyd had no way of knowing in particular what hour it was. It could very well be past midnight, or just a few minutes before the crack of dawn. He went back and forth reasoning which of the two it could be as he made his light, tip-toeing steps towards Rhonda. JD had lots of goodies packed in his fridge and cabinets, so there was bound to be something to sedate him.
As his hand reached for the knob of Rhonda's door, prepared to turn, he stopped short at the sound of the thumping again, more pronounced. Floyd blinked. Was that coming from inside of the caterbus? He strained to listen, and heard a rapid creaking noise, as though springs were being pressed down upon over and over, accompanied with a long, drawn noise of some sort. A moan, he realized, the longer he had his ear perked to attention.
Wait a minute... He thought he recognized that voice. Was that… Poppy? Floyd blinked. Why? Had something happened to her? He glanced over to where the other Trolls had been sleeping, seeing for the first time that her sleeping bag was indeed empty...
...And so was Branch's.
Suddenly, the magenta Troll's brain began to put two and two together, the cogs shifting in his brain right as another thumping was heard, and a new moan that bore a resemblance to the name of his youngest bro resonated.
Something had happened to Poppy all right. But it wasn't anything bad.
It was…
They were...
“Oh!” he gasped. Floyd suddenly felt blood rush to his face, his appetite vanishing entirely and his stomach turning queasy. He hurriedly turned his heel, trying to dash as quickly as he could back to his sleeping bag before he had an accident, but failing as he tripped over one of his brothers.
"Ow," a drowsy mumble came from Bruce, and he began to sit up and rub his eyes at the disturbance. "Floyd? Dude, what's going on?"
Floyd waved his hands in a panic. "No! Bruce, go back to sleep. Please!"
"Huh?" Bruce cocked his head. "What are you talking abou - " His sentence was cut off by the sound of a shout, one that sounded an awful lot like their youngest brother. More thumping followed, and Bruce raised an eyebrow, clueless for a second, until realization dawned upon him. "Ohhhh," he said, cracking a smile once his thoughts were confirmed upon seeing the lack of Branch and Poppy in their respective sleeping bags. Rhonda affirmed it further, cutting her narrowed eyes at him as if daring him to try and intrude the private moment. So that's what they were up to. Bruce shook his head, fondly remembering a time when he and Brandy were younger, and would get up to their own share of frisky business. "Well, I'll tell you one thing for sure," he told Floyd, "If there was ever any doubt that Branch isn't a man, there certainly isn’t one now."
Two responses met the purple-haired Troll. One was another loud moan coming from the caterbus. The other was a groan of dismay from his magenta-haired brother.
"Didn't John Dory say she was soundproofed?" Floyd whimpered in mortification, pointing at Rhonda.
Bruce laughed. "Bro, Rhonda's not soundproof. JD just sleeps like a rock. See?" The brothers looked over at their eldest bro who indeed looked like a content stone just laying there. Un-rock-like though, he snored, drooling some from the side of his open mouth.
Of course, Floyd thought with a roll of his eyes. He cast a worried glance at Bruce. "Okay, but, um, what should we do? I'd love to go back to sleep, but not if I'm going to listen to… um… to…" He tried to think of the right word to describe what was happening without outright saying it, but found he didn't have to. He grimaced when Poppy cried out, making him shudder. "To that," he finished.
Bruce understood and patted a hand reassuringly on Floyd’s shoulder. "Not to worry, bro. I got you covered. Here, gimme your hand." Floyd extended his palm out, and Bruce reached into his hair, pulling out a couple of small objects.
Floyd was perplexed when he realized what it was. "Gumdrops?" he asked.
"Hey, I know they're delish, but they're also 100% soundproof, guaranteed."
Floyd narrowed his eyes, unable to help feeling skeptical. "You sure?"
Bruce nodded. "Yep! Trust me, I stuff them in my kids' ears every night right after they've gone to sleep, in case the wife and I ever get in the mood. So far, they haven't been disturbed a peep!"
Floyd felt his stomach lurch and then nodded. “Okay! Alright, I’ll take them.”
Bruce chuckled, putting his own gumdrops in his ears and snuggling back down. He dozed off once more, and Floyd soon after, the magenta-haired Troll relieved that true to his brother’s word, he heard nothing but the sound of silence.
__________________________________________
Poppy found the brilliant sun the following morning a perfect compliment to the equally sunny attitude she had. She stretched, recomposed herself, and took a great big whiff of the fresh air once she stepped out of Rhonda. Right as she began to replay the events of the previous night, she felt a pair of hands slink around her waist, belonging to the Troll she’d shared the wonderful experience with. She giggled a little as his caress lightly tickled her sides, and she turned to face him, bestowing a quick peck upon his lips.
“Morning,” he whispered.
“Morning,” she replied. She licked her lips with a little hum, noting the flavor he’d left behind on them. “I take it coffee's brewing?” she asked.
“Mmm-hmm,” he confirmed, tipping his messy-haired blue head back towards Rhonda. “Want a cup?”
“In a little bit,” she said. “Think I’m gonna stretch my legs out here a bit first. I’m, uh… still a bit sore.” She admitted it with a blush that made Branch chuckle.
“All right.” He better adjusted his leafy vest to conceal the purplish mark on the base of his neck, bruise-like in appearance if not for the indentations indicative of teeth, if one were to look closely enough - evidence of the Pop Queen’s handiwork, no doubt.
They exchanged another sweet peck, and then Poppy was off at her sister’s side in a couple of wobbly bounds.
“Wakey, wakey!” she chirped, shaking her shoulder.
Viva gave a short yawn and grinned when her sights set on her sister. “Hey, you!” she giggled, throwing her arms around her for a hug. Taking note of her messy pink hair and worried she’d tossed and turned through the night, Viva questioned her. “You sleep okay?”
“Yeah,” Poppy replied. Better than okay, actually, she added silently, remembering Branch’s arms around her and how expertly they’d handled her.
“Oh, good!” Viva breathed out. “Um, you do know your leg warmers are inside out, right?”
Poppy grinned sheepishly when she realized her sister was right. But she couldn’t help be disoriented, not after the way Branch made her so drunk on his love. She shrugged, grateful when Clay’s awakening interrupted them.
“Ah, man, I had the best dream ever!” he declared as he stretched, sitting up in his sleeping bag.
Viva rolled her eyes. “This isn’t the one where you’re drinking hot cocoa and finishing everyone’s taxes, is it?”
Clay raised a hand. “Guilty, and quite happy to be found so!” he laughed.
Viva chuckled and turned to her sister. “That’s Clay for ya!”
Poppy shook her head with a little grin and then spotted Floyd and Bruce. “Hey, guys!” she called. “Branch is at the caterbus brewing some coffee. Want some?”
Poppy then witnessed something peculiar. At the mention of their youngest bro, Floyd’s eyes widened and he exchanged a look with Bruce. The purple-haired Troll calmly replied for the two. “I’ll take a cup, Poppy, but I think Floyd’s gonna pass. He was a little sick last night, and he’s still not up to par just yet.”
Poppy’s eyebrows creased in worry. “Oh, no! Really?” She looked to the magenta-haired Troll for an answer.
“I’ll be fine,” Floyd squeaked, clearing his throat afterwards in hopes that nobody would question him further for his strange behavior. Attention was drawn from him when John Dory leapt upon his feet, bright eyed and bushy tailed.
“Wassup, fam!” he cried, snapping his fingers. “I don’t know about you all, but I slept like a baby! A baby Branch that is.” He chuckled at his own joke, until the voice of his youngest brother stopped him.
“I thought I told you to refrain from calling me that!” Branch grumbled as he stepped towards them, sipping a cup of coffee.
“I was just playing, bro.” His expression then switched to a serious one. “For real though, dude, are you all right?”
Branch looked at him with confusion. “What’d you mean?”
John Dory exhaled. “Huh, I dunno if I was dreaming or something, but I coulda sworn I heard some screaming from you last night. And y’know, come to think of it, you too, Poppy!” JD scratched his head. “Were y’all having nightmares or something?”
In that instant, Poppy felt all the color rush to her face. Branch gagged midsip of the coffee he was drinking, and Floyd moaned, a hint of green tinting his face as he rushed into the bushes to heave what was in his stomach.
“NIghtmares!” Poppy laughed. “Nightmares he says!” She laughed until she felt herself grow light-headed, and then faint.
Not in much of a better state, Branch stood, frozen in shock and unresponsive to his surroundings, blue eyes open wide but unseeing.
“Uhhh… I feel like I missed something here,” JD said, puzzled.
Clay and Viva murmured their agreement as the former waved a hand in front of his little bro’s face and Viva fanned Poppy, who was still splayed on the ground.
“I didn’t,” Bruce mumbled.
JD’s head shot towards him. “What?”
“Nevermind,” the purple-haired Troll quickly said, plastering a nothing-is-wrong grin on his face. “Now, who wants gumdrops?”
