The day of Suzume's first blind date had finally arrived and the person she met was Naoki Ito! During their walk to the restaurant, Suzume tried to engage in his conversations and asked questions about him. Naoki was happy to be given this much attention and felt attached to Suzume already. "He's a bit clingy..." Suzume said in her head then she heard a girl giggle behind them "Otosan?" His kids were there.

She had no idea what was happening to Naoki's marriage, but his kids seemed cheerful about both their parents and she got the impression he was happily married. In the nicest way possible she said it was best to end the date and stay friends (really she wanted to get out of there). And that was how the blind date was over before it even started 🫣

Transcript:

After a couple of meals, a few liters of water, and plenty of sleep, the group was ready to take on the hardest part of their expedition. The steep ascent to the summit.

Dawn is feeling better, at least her nausea and headache have subsided, but her body is still feeling fatigued.

She tells herself this is normal. Everyone is tired and sore by now. But they’re so close. Everything they’ve worked for over the last year is only a few miles ahead of them.

When they reach the final rock face, they can do little more than stare in awe.

It’s larger than anything they’ve seen before now and covered in ice.

They all take a moment to gaze up at it and inspect it, finding a path up.

Kiyoshi and Atlas start climbing first. Each taking a different route while the others watch from below.

Dawn decides to follow Atlas, feeling more confident in the path he took.

The ice makes it difficult, she slips once, but regains her hold.

About halfway up, she notices a shimmering aura in her periphery.

Soon, the ache starts behind her eye again, made worse by the sun reflecting off the snow at the top.

She’s tempted to pull her goggles down to cover her eyes, but with the ice coating the rock, her grip is precarious at best.

Dawn: [to herself] You’re almost there. Just keep going.

She adjusts her gaze and continues on.

She’s forced to stop and take a breath when she’s hit with a wave of nausea.

Phoenix watches anxiously from the bottom. Having watched her climb many times before, he can tell something is off.

She can see the ledge only a few feet ahead, can hear Atlas and Kiyoshi talking just out of view.

She reaches for the next hold, but stops when her foot slips out from under her.

Her muscles begin trembling as she keeps herself in place, trying to get her foot secured again to take the pressure off her upper body. Before she can, her hand start slipping, and she realizes she’s not going to be able to hold on much longer.

Dawn: Atlas!

Hearing the panic in his sister’s voice, Atlas runs to her without thinking.

He’s relieved to see how close she is; he can nearly reach her.

Atlas: I got you. Take my hand. Dawn: I can’t.

Atlas: You can. Dawn: No, I can’t hold on. Atlas: Come on. You’re so close, I’m right here.

As she moves to reach for him her foot slips off again. Atlas grabs for her.

But it’s too late.

We are back! From a new computer! (EA App stopped working on my old Windows 7 PC -.-) Arturo invited them to celebrate the opening of a brand new Temple in Morensong (and for a belated Ostara/Spring Equinox Festival since we couldn't celebrate together last week. Day and Night were equal on March 21st and warmer days are coming. Hopefully for the Boys too).

They aren't really ready to meet again. Neither Saiwa and Jeb (after Sai's breakdown) nor Jack and Kiyoshi (after Jack's breakdown). But Ji Ho has a plan.

Arturo welcomed them and showed them around. This Temple is much bigger than Kiyoshi's/ the Tree's in Koh Sahpa. Had Kiyoshi gained so much more popularity since he's back from the tree?

Arturo: "Haha no ^^' Kiyoshi's followers wanted this Temple for Kiri, Little Goat and Kumo who hadn't left Kiyoshi's side and cared for him while he was one with the Tree for all those decades. And Little Goat played a big part in bringing him back eventually." Oh... ok Ö.ö So we have a Stable Temple now... For horses, goats and sheep. We've seen stranger things, haven't we? There are 12 easter eggs hidden in the following pics and posts. I write the amount of eggs in the respective pic below in brackets. For example in the pic below you can find 1 easter egg, so I write (1). (The same egg can appear in different pics and angles, but it still counts as 1 egg.)

Kiyoshi is embarrassed. He knows that the others are keeping his distance to him since they know the whole truth about him and Jack and that he became a demon, he's back and and a diety now and they are forced to stay together to avoid a catastrophe in their possible future and he destroyed Jeb and Saiwa's relationship with this damn 'Bird' misunderstanding... He just wanted to live quietly among them and somehow make it up to them and serve them and not to cause a ruckus and being treated as something special and upset them even more. (1)

The Temple is big enough for all the horses and goats and Kumo so they finally have a place to stay in Tomarang! (1)

The Boys' horses are Otherworlds horses and they are free to roam whereever they want to and the Boys can call them via the goats. Not sure if they stay here all together all the time since they have their own problems and misunderstandings and quarrels among them... (see our spin off -> The Stables)

Arturo: "What do you think? It's awesome, right?" Saiwa: "It absolutley is. They will live in a palace!" Arturo: "Come over to the meadow. I prepared games and food." (3) (But only two new eggs, the third egg is already shown 3 pics above. That makes a total of 5 different eggs in this post. Have you found them all? Intermission: Kiyoshi Is Dumb (Occasionally) But Then Again, So Is Dom...

(some euphemistic matters below - nothing above vanilla gameplay level. also kiyoshi's dad is a forbidden word. also a lot of SHIT MY CHARACTER SAYS dialogue)

DOM: So wait - you were Kaori's first woo-hoo and you never had The Talk with her? KIYOSHI: I did have The Talk with her! DOM: [narrows eyes] KIYOSHI: ... Afterwards? DOM: [narrows eyes some more] DOM: No wonder she thought that you were together! KIYOSHI: Look, I realise now that I shouldn't have assumed we had the same SENTIMENTS and I know that I - uh, I have the PROPER trait now, can you say the thing for me please? DOM: You forbidden worded up... KIYOSHI: I did! I was such a Landgraab! And I've been apologising to her ever since. DOM: Well, it's a sad day in hell - I mean, that DINE OUT pack - when I feel sorry for Kaori, but at least you both learned something from this, yeah? Like how to be more straightforward about things? Even if talks like that make your shiny new third YOUNG ADULT TRAIT clutch at its pearls? KIYOSHI: [dryly] Yeah, all those JOKE ABOUT GETTING TOGETHER interactions at the Romance Festival were totally you being straightforward. DOM: ... DOM: Wait no, you can't hold me responsible for what the Sakura tea did!

DOM: So what I'm saying is that I landed in this save, not a Simoleon to my name and a Watcher forbidden worded bent on making the FABULOUSLY WEALTHY challenge even harder for herself, by which I mean me... KIYOSHI: I'm just a lowly premade but okay, I get it. DOM: And six weeks in I'm feeling a little more comfortable and I'm thinking - maybe I can move beyond just surviving and start living a little more? KIYOSHI: You mean like you want to come snowboarding with me? When the Watcher's dash gave you the CLUMSY trait? Or like not just subsisting from one day to another? DOM: Yeah definitely not going snowboarding with you. I'm SELF-ASSURED and DAUNTLESS, not INSANE - I mean, ERRATIC. Look, what I'm trying to say is that the whole 'not just subsisting from one day to another' thing, do you want to be a part of it? KIYOSHI: ... KIYOSHI: It sounds like you're asking me to teach you how to snowboard but context clues are leading me to believe that's not the case- DOM: I'm asking you to be my boyfriend, plumbob damn it! KIYOSHI: Ah. Okay. [...] No Sakura tea involved this time? DOM: No Sakura tea. [mutters] Though there might be some POTATO JUICE later if you don't give me an answer... KIYOSHI: Then yes. I'll absolutely be your boyfriend. BOTH: :DDDDDDD

KIYOSHI: So I've thought about it more and I'm ready to become a played townie. DOM: Well hey, that's great! You were in a later pack so your default outfits ain't so bad, even the HOT and COLD WEATHER ones, but you'll get a sweet new wardrobe. And maybe even make progress on your ASPIRATION. Pro-Snowboarding, here you come! KIYOSHI: I'm sorry Dom, this time I was unclear. I'm asking if you'd like me to join your household. DOM: Uh, what now? KIYOSHI: It's highly improper of me to invite myself, I know. But since I'm still living at home, I didn't think you'd want to move in with my family? DOM: Yeah not the most tempting of offers, when you put it like that. KIYOSHI: I'll understand if it's a no. Being a played townie opens a whole new series of challenges, ones that I likely will never anticipate. DOM: Oh, truth on that. You're going to want to unlock STEEL BLADDER asap, trust me. KIYOSHI: And obviously adding me to your household is a huge step. Sorry, I should have lead with that. But could I just crash for a few nights? Is that okay? My dad, he's being such a - a... DOM: Do you need me to say it for you? KIYOSHI: No, I'll say it even though it will give me a negative sentiment later. A forbidden word. DOM: ... Well yeah, I'd always felt that way about him but I didn't think I should be the one to say it first, you know? He's your forbidden word, not mine. KIYOSHI: The way he talks to my mother, it's awful! I try not to get involved but I can't stand it anymore! I never want to become like that. DOM: Oh, you could never be anything like your father even if you tried for a whole LONG LIFESPAN setting, trust me. And by behaving like that in front of you, your sister - he is involving you. And it's not fair to any of you. So you can totally join my household. There'll just be certain... terms and conditions, since I'm part of a kind of Rags to Riches challenge.

So yes, Kiyoshi will be moving in after Week 7! He won't be making any money but he will be cooking and doing laundry. The Watcher figures that's fair since Dom can healthily sustain herself through quick meals and snacking on produce and laundry is a mechanic that I added just to be annoying anyway.

Also once he gets to LEVEL 2 HANDINESS, he will be re-upgrading all the appliances since they've somehow reset from Dom's upgrades and we really need to not die whenever we use the Murphy Bed, thank you very much...

Transcript:

The first thing Dawn notices is the sound of her own heart pounding in her chest. She does a quick assessment, noticing a sharp pain in her upper back. She wiggles her toes, relieved that she’s able to.

Phoenix: Dawn?

When she feels his breath on her face, she realizes she’s not breathing. She gasps and opens her eyes.

For a moment it’s as though the entire world has stopped while they stare at each other in disbelief.

Phoenix: Are you okay? Dawn: Yeah, I think so. Are you? Phoenix: Yeah.

They fall to the ground, throwing off their helmets and packs. Phoenix pulls her into him and kisses her forehead.

Dawn: I love you. Phoenix: I love you too.

Atlas crumbles to the ground, head in his hands.

Kiyoshi: She’s okay. Atlas: [voice cracking] I couldn’t… She almost…

No longer able to speak, Atlas begins sobbing. Unsure what to do, Kiyoshi sits next to him, rests a hand on his shoulder, and lets him cry.

A few minutes later, Phoenix takes a breath, pulls back and looks at Dawn.

Phoenix: Are you ready to do this? Dawn: I don’t know if I can. Phoenix: Of course, you can.

Phoenix gets up and signals to Kiyoshi, who starts pulling rope and supplies out of his bag.

Dawn: Phoenix? Phoenix: Worst-case scenario, they’ll haul you up, but they’re not gonna have to do that. You were right there. You got this, okay? Dawn: Okay.

Yumi: You could've.

Kiyoshi: So why did you agree to drive me there?

Yumi: Because I want to be a witness to your apology... Also because I happen to like her matcha Swiss rolls.

Kiyoshi: Knew it.

Yumi: Don't judge me. I've been on a strict diet all week because of my competition. I deserve a cheat day!

Kiyoshi: Then why didn't you let me drive?

*Yumi gives him the stink eye*

Kiyoshi: Understood.

There's a brief silence.

Kiyoshi: Does she still live here..?

Yumi shakes her head.

Yumi: She left a year after Grandpa Shigeru was buried. Said Komorebi had nothing for her anymore. Got her grandma's blessing, said goodbye to the crew and left. She hasn't come back since.

Kiyoshi: Do you know where she is..

Yumi: She didn't tell me..

(Yumi promised she wouldn't tell Kiyoshi about her whereabouts)
