This was my first big acting shot and I quickly discovered how difficult these are to pull off! I spent a lot of time coming up with ideas in the reference room, I even put on a hat to see if I would use it somehow. I'd seen a video of a seal's head being pushed back into it's body and then popping out again, and my supervisor Charlie Bonifacio helped me figure out how we can achieve a similar effect with the chicken. I also received lots of help from my supervisor Yoshi Tamura. Thanks guys! :D

This one was especially challenging as Sergio wanted the head and body to be on different timings. I was a bit lost at first, but with help from the amazing Maël Gourmelen I was able to start figuring out how to animate this!

Torsten Schrank saved our butt's so much in the production of Klaus. He is the greatest draftsman I've ever met, and was incredibly patient in giving us draw overs, which were like gold to us! Last Klaus post!! Here's a reel of (most of) my Klaus shots; the first and second clips are also the first and last shots I completed on the movie. The contrast in quality shows how much the supervisors/team taught me across the 15 months I worked on it. Klaus was a dream come true, and I'm incredibly thankful that God opened that door for me. Thanks to all who have watched it and have passed on encouragement, to Sergio Pablos and The SPA Studios for the opportunity, my supervisors Yoshi Tamura, Victor Ens, Charlie Bonifacio and Sergio Martins for sharing their wisdom, to the talented Klaus team, and of course my amazing wife Ashleigh Crook who supported me through it!! :D

I was super thankful to be cast this shot on Klaus, and at first it was a real struggle to figure out the choreography of how he was going to 'fight off' the invisible threat. I had major help from my amazing supervisor Yoshi from The SPA Studios, who was very patient in helping me keep it on model and find appealing poses!!
